Printed Skirts With Converse, Falabella And Black Tees For The Office | Weekday Wear Link Up

Sharing another set of two very similar outfits for the office for today's Weekday Wear Link Up. Both feature black tees, printed skirts, Converse, and my newly thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
Tee: thrifted Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in black
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

So many new purchases in one outfit! While I focus on pieces that work with other items in my wardrobe when I'm shopping, it's always a thril when I thrift pieces that work together to create a full outfit all on their own! This leopard printmidi skirt was a must as soon as I saw it on the rack - I love the tassels and it's such a great length for me, almost a maxi. As it was a quiet day at my desk it was easily dressed down with the black tee and my Converse sneakers. The Stella McCartney Falabella worked so well in this outfit too, it's a great bag for work!

The necklace is not new but instead a reincarnation of an older one I had. When I thrifted it, it was a beautiful string of faux pearl beads all knotted together on faux suede and the thread just kept splitting and breaking until eventually I couldn't repair it any more. My friend designs and makes jewellery so she helped me get some supplies (just a simple cord this time) to recreate it with the beads I had, and I just copied it as closely as I could to the original necklace. I think I did well even if it's taken me months to getting around to remaking this!

Last worn: black teebeaded necklaceConverse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag. First time I've worn the leopard print skirt as is is a recent thrift find.

Other ways to wear: black tee and shortsConverse and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag with green.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted wooden yellow tassel necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee
Skirt: Garfunkle Australia pleated print skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This outfit was disappointing. I copied the outfit formula for the one above almost exactly, with a different black thrifted tee, the Converse and the Stella McCartney Falabella bag again. I even added another statement necklace, this cheerful yellow tassel one. This yellow and white and black printed pleated skirt used to be an office staple for me, but I just really wasn't enjoying it on this day. It was a bit breezy and the a-line shape kept getting caught in the breeze in the worst ways and had me worrying about and holding the hem quite a bit. It's a shame as I really loved this skirt in the past, but it is in the donate bag now. Even though I haven't hit 30 wears with it I'm just really not enjoying wearing it any more, and it's better to go to a new home with someone who will love it.

Last worn: black H&M tee, yellow tassel necklacepleated printed skirt, Converse (above), Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wearblack H&M tee and shorts, pleated printed skirt and blazer, Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and denim.

Printed Maxi Dresses And Suede Maxi Edie Bag

Last time I wore these two printed maxi dresses, I shared them together in a post, and I'm doing that again today! Despite both being very different prints and colours, I thrifted them both for just $1 each and find myself reaching for them so much now with the warmer spring weather in Brisbane.

Both dresses I accessorised with my Rebecca Minkoff suede Maxi Edie bag, which is a nice neutral.

What I wore:

Necklace: Lovisa gold filigree heart pendant
Dress: thrifted JayJays white maxi dress
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted maxi Edie crossbody in Porcini brown suede

Why I wore it:

A simple dress outfit for a hot day working from home. I had to take a little break in the afternoon to see my son get an award at school. This Rebecca Minkoff maxi Edie bag was the perfect accessory as it has plenty of room for all of my essentials and I could fit my camera in there too for photos at the ceremony.

I decided to wear it just with the big chunky chain strap, and not use the crossbody strap (which is removable). I liked the way it looked but I think maybe I shouldn't have worn a rose gold necklace with this as the two different gold tones don't really compliment each other well with the necklace and bag. I did like them both separately though, just another necklace might have looked better worn all together.

Last worn: floral print maxi dress, rose gold heart necklace, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff suede maxi Edie.

Other ways to wearfloral print maxi dress with peach accessories, Rebecca Minkoff suede maxi Edie and stripes.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
Necklace: Kmart blue multi-colour beaded necklace
Dress: thrifted colourful geometric print maxi dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted maxi Edie crossbody in Porcini brown suede

Why I wore it:

Layered up this printed maxi dress with a denim jacket for a cooler spring morning - that quickly turned into a very warm day and had me discarding the jacket! I did like the light blue denim wash with the tri colour wooden necklace and the blue Converse, but what had started out as a cool overcast day quickly warmed up and I left the jacket in the car.

I went to the opshop with the kids looking for something for them to wear for an upcoming theme day at school, and to take advantage of the 'fill a bag of books for $3' sale at the opshop. Picked up some very cute clothes for the kids and ended up with two bags full of books for them and for me. A very productive shop!

Also had to run a few errands afterwards and picked up a special treat for lunch on the way home. Again I wore the Rebecca Minkoff suede Edie bag, although I didn't need to carry too much, it just saved me swapping out bags again!

Black Tees, Denim Shorts, and Printed Dusters

Two denim shorts outfits for spring with printed cover ups. Both have black tees, and a little pop of yellow.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
Necklace: thrifted wood and marble bead thrifted necklace with white string
TeeAtmos & Here black essential v-neck tee
Shorts: thrifted Jeanswest distressed denim shorts
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

Simple black tee and shorts outfit for the school run, working from home, and a physio appointment over lunchtime. I wanted to feel a little more pulled together so I added the green floral duster on top, it always adds more to a plain outfit. And the little yellow mini 5 zip bag was a great pop of colour. As I was just going to the physio and doing the school run when I wasn't working from home, a little bag was all I needed for the essentials.

Last worn: green floral duster, wooden necklace, black tee, distressed denim shorts, Sketchers, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip.

Other ways to weargreen floral duster and jeans, black tee over a dress, distressed denim shorts and stripes, Sketchers and dress, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip and jeans.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Kensley summer tie-dye kimono
Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
Tee: thrifted Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in black
ShortsNobody Denim mustard short shorts
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

A very similar outfit formula to the one above, with some very different pieces. Most of these are new purchases. The black tee and the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag are opshop finds! The mustard Nobody Denim shorts are ones I bought on ebay and I'm still a little unsure on - they are cute and so comfortable but they are also a bit shorter than I would usually go for (I didn't check length measurements before bidding!). Much like the yellow bag in the first outfit though, I liked the pop of colour these mustard shorts added to the neutrals in my outfit.

The tassel necklace added more colour too, as well as my old favourite tie dye cape.
It was a busy day as I spent some time with my family in the morning, my sister stayed for breakfast and we worked from home together for a few hours as well which was nice. After the school pick up I had to run a couple of errands in the afternoon too.

Last worn: tie dye cape, tassel necklace, Havaianas. First time I've shared the black tee, mustard shorts and Stella McCartney Falabella bag as they are recent opshop finds.

Other ways to wear: tie dye cape and pink jeans.

Pink Tees, Blazers, Navy Pencil Skirts And Purple Paraty | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, another couple of office outfits with my favourite colour trio of blue, pink and purple. I wore some pink tees with navy pencil skirts, dressed up a little with blazers for the office, and accessorised with my little purple Chloe Paraty bag.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
TeeCotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
SkirtAsos blue textured lace pencil skirt
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Surprisingly, this blue lace skirt and the pink tee haven't been worn together before! Even though the pink tee is a favourite and I've worn the lace skirt over 30 times. The navy blazer on top dresses up a tee for the office nicely, and I liked how similar it was to the navy lace on my skirt. The navy necklace I added for a little more matchy-matchy too, and I thought the purple small Paraty bag was such a good colour with the navy and pink.

I just went for plain black ballet flats to wear, although this did have me wondering if I should have a navy pair, the black ones worked okay in this outfit.

Last worn: navy blazer, pink teenavy necklacelace pencil skirt, black ballet flats, Chloe Paraty bag.

Other ways to wearnavy blazer and printed dress, pink tee and shortsblue lace pencil skirt worn 30 ways, black ballet flats and jeans, Chloe Paraty bag and floral dress.

What I wore:

Jacketthrifted Zara black blazer
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Tee: Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in tulip pink
SkirtWarehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Another navy textured pencil skirt outfit! I haven't quite hit 30 wears with this jacquard pencil skirt yet, but I'm getting there. Again I added a blazer, a black one this time to match the jacquard texture of the skirt. And black Converse as it was a quiet day in the office.

The pink tee is a new purchase last month - it's such a good basic, I liked it paired with the navy and black and the blazer dresses it up well for a day at my desk.

Even though the pink shade of this tee is a little deeper than the tee in the first outfit, I still loved the purple mini Paraty bag with this outfit. It goes with so much!

Last worn: black blazer, pink tee, navy and gold beaded necklace, jacquard skirt, Converse, Chloe purple Paraty bag (above).

Other ways to wearblack blazer and dresspink tee and jeans, jacquard pencil skirt with green, Converse and jeans, Chloe purple Paraty bag and denim skirt.

Maxi Dresses and Chloe Marcie Shoulder Bag

Wearing some pretty printed dresses for the warm spring weather recently. Despite both these maxi dresses having different prints, I accessorised them both with great neutrals, my studded sandals and my Chloe Marcie shoulder bag. Like the dresses which were opshop finds, the Chloe Marcie was a preloved find too!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
Dress: thrifted colourful geometric print maxi dress
ShoesRebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush
Bracelets: the usual plus black and gold beaded bracelet stack
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

It was such a hot day I needed something easy to wear - this light viscose maxi dress was perfect for the heat, and super comfortable! After the school run, I worked from home before picking the kids up in the afternoon and heading to a local park for a playdate.

With the bright colours in the geometric print of this maxi dress, natural accessories were needed. I went with my studded gladiator sandals that I only regretted a little, running around on the bark playground with the kids in the afternoon is not easy with open toed sandals! And of course the Chloe Marcie bag in nut goes with everything too.

With the gold in the hardware of the Chloe Marcie bag and the gold necklace, I went a little matchy-matchy with the black and gold beaded bracelet stack.

Last worn: printed maxi dress, gold circle necklace, black and gold bracelet stack, studded sandals, Chloe Marcie shoulder bag.

Other ways to wearprinted maxi dress worn two ways, studded sandals and shorts, Chloe Marcie shoulder bag and skirt.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted flat peach statement bead necklace
Dress: thrifted JayJays white maxi dress
ShoesRebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush
Bracelets: the usual plus peach and gold bracelet stack
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

First wearing of this cute floral print maxi dress! I couldn't resist it when I saw it in the opshop. Like the dress above, it was just $1 as well! I again went with neutral accessories, the same gladiator sandals and nut brown Chloe Marcie bag. With the peach in the floral print of the dress though I wanted to add a little more colour to pull that out - the peach necklace and peach and gold bracelet stack were fun ways to add more colour, even if the shades of orange don't match exactly, I still enjoyed wearing it all together.

Wore this to take the kids to a very fun birthday party, and run a couple of errands afterwards.

Last worn: orange necklace, peach and gold bracelet stack, studded sandals (above), Chloe Marcie hobo bag (above). First time I've worn the dress as it's a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearstudded sandals worn 30 ways, Chloe Marcie hobo bag and jeans.

Pink Tees, Grey Jeans and Rebecca Minkoff Cupid

Two pink tee and grey jeans outfits I wore recently, with my go-with-everything Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag. I added some printed cover ups for a little extra colour in my outfits as well.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On maroon wanderlust floral border cover up
Necklace: thrifted wood and marble bead thrifted necklace with white string
Tee: Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in tulip pink (new purchase)
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Wore this to run a couple of errands and stop by the local opshop to donate a few more things from the spring clear out I've been having lately. Since I knew I was going to be browsing after donating, I wore a couple of thrifted pieces - completely unscientific but I find I have good luck in an opshop if I'm wearing something thrifted, haha! This necklace, the burgundy floral print cover up, and the Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag were all finds from this opshop in the past. And when I found this Rebecca Minkoff Cupid in the opshop I thought for sure I'd got the best bag find ever. So I really wasn't expecting to find another designer bag in the opshop!

Happily picked up a Stella McCartney Falabella for just $30 though! Got a few other things as well before I stumbled across this bag, and could not believe my luck when I took a closer look and saw it was the real deal.

This dusky pink tee I thought went nicely with the burgundy and peach floral print of the cover up, and it was a nice layer to add a little extra interest to a simple jeans and tee outfit.

Last worn: floral cover up, neutral necklace, grey skinny jeans, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag. First time I've worn the tee as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wear floral cover up and skirt, grey skinny jeans worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and dress

TeeCle The Label Charlotte tee in ombre rose
JeansNobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag:  thrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Another pink tee and grey jeans outfit for the weekend. We had a playdate and it was a slightly cooler morning so I thought this fun tie dye cape was a good cover up, not too heavy for when it warmed up later in the day. I added the navy tassel necklace for a little bit of matchy-matchy with the navy tie dye as well. And again, my Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag that goes with everything.

Printed Dresses and Prune MAC Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

A super hot week in Spring meant pulling out some easy printed dress outfits for the office! Skipped the blazers with these dresses as they both feel pretty work appropriate to me, and it was really more like summer temperatures and too hot to think about that extra layer anyway.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted metallic clay bead necklace
Dress: Jeanswest Aztec print dress
Belt: embossed tan leather belt from my Mum's wardrobe
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

Haven't worn this navy Ikat print dress in a while which is a shame! It used to be an office staple pre-pandemic so it was great to get it out again, I really enjoyed wearing it! I do love belting it, and it looks great with this belt from my mum's wardrobe.

Had a hard time picking a necklace with the big embossed belt, decided on this little clay bead one and I just shortened the adjustable string to wear it a little higher around the neckline of the dress.

I liked the prune MAC bag with this - such a great pop of colour against the blues and neutral shades in the dress.

Last worn: Ikat print dress, beaded necklace, embossed leather belt, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC.

Other ways to wearIkat print dress and scarf, Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC and double denim.

What I wore:

Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace plus Tiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
DressLeona Edmiston Jemima fern print dress
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

This dress is another old office staple that's been neglected post-pandemic! I kept all my office wear from when I used to work in the office more regularly, but with only going in around twice a week it's hard to decide what pieces to wear! It was good to get this one out again. It always looks so professional, especially paired with classic black ballet flats.

I added layered necklaces to accessorise this a little, but really the printed dress makes the outfit feel pulled together enough on its own. Even though the prune bag doesn't match the blush pink shades in the print of the dress, I really liked the two together. Although definitely not as much as I did paired with the dress in the first outfit.

Last worn: Leona Edmiston printed dress, Tiffany heart necklaces, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC (above).

Other ways to wearLeona Edmiston printed dress in winter, black ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff prune MAC and jeans.

Yellow Tees, Jeans, Olive Darren Bag and Floral Cover Ups

I've been wearing a lot of pink lately, so decided to break it up a little! Still sticking with my trusty jeans and tee staple outfit, just picking yellow tees this time with fun floral cover ups and my Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren bag in olive.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren | awyafromtheblue

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Necklace: thrifted gold and pastel blue beaded necklace with grey string
Tee: Jeanswest essential v-neck tee in elfin yellow
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus plus jade beads and Roie Designs bracelets
BagRebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren

Why I wore it:

It's not the first time I've worn this tropical print cover up with the white skinny jeans. And I wore a yellow tee that time too! I really like the combination, just something so summery about it! With the pastel yellow tee as well I felt this was such a fun and colourful outfit. With all that colour, chose my little Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren crossbody in olive as a neutral shade to go with it all. And I only had to carry the essentials, as I had the school drop off, a couple errands, then working from home before school pickup in the afternoon. Even tried being a little matchy-mathcy with my bracelets with this outfit too.

Last worn: tropical print cover up, yellow tee, blue beaded necklace, white skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren bag.

Other ways to weartropical print cover up and skirt, yellow tee and shorts, white skinny jeans and cardigan, Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Jeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
Necklace: thrifted wooden geometric bead necklace
Tee: Big W mustard v-neck tee
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren

Why I wore it:

I needed all the colours on this day for a bit of a boost so went for this very bold combination of the mustard tee with the green floral print duster. I had a busy day with the school run, working from home, and Cooper had some surgery at the vets. I felt like the bright yellow and bright green was a nice way to make myself seem more cheerful than I was. And I love that green necklace whenever I wear it with this duster.

The black jeans made the colours pop more too, and again I went with the little mini Darren bag as I just needed the essentials. Thankfully, all went well at the vets for Cooper!

Last worn: green floral duster, mustard tee, geometric necklace, faded black skinny jeans, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren bag (above).

Other ways to weargreen floral duster and dress, mustard tee and maxi skirt, faded black skinny jeans and band tee, Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren bag and shorts.

Share The Dignity #ItsInTheBag 2023: What's In My Bags To Donate

It's that time of year! While shopping for Christmas presents, I always include a couple extra items on my list to add to my donation as part of my bag for the Share The Dignity #ItsInTheBag campaign.

This year I decided to pack a bag for a teen as well as a bag for an adult. They may be homeless, they may have fled domestic violence, they may just be really struggling at Christmas time. The bags are filled with the essentials everyone deserves and a few extras to make them feel special.

What I Will Be Donating This Year:

How You Can Participate:

From the 10th to the 26th November, you can drop off a new or gently used handbag filled with some essentials for a person in need at Christmas time and drop it off at your local Bunnings. Share The Dignity volunteers collect the bags and then distribute them to local charities so they can make a difference.

To find out more about the different kinds of bags you can donate, who benefits from your bags, and what you can/can't include in your donation, check out the It's In The Bag website.

What You Need to Include In Your Bag:

And that's it! Of course, you can always include a few optional extras if you have space in your bag and room in the budget this Christmas - there are more suggestions on the It's In The Bag website. This year my extras were little toiletry bags, lipstick and lip balm, mascara, hand sanitiser, tissues, face masks, journals and pens, hairbrushes and scrunchies.
