What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
Dress: Kmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
Shoes: Novo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold
Why I wore it:
Christmas day started off far too early! The kids were up at 4.45am, ready to open all the presents, while I definitely could have slept a lot longer. There was no chance of getting up before them to get ready, so we hung out in our pyjamas and then after the present opening and a relaxed breakfast we all got dressed for the day. I'd planned to wear this pretty coral dress as I knew it would look so nice with this statement metallic necklace and the champagne gold envelope clutch. We were aiming to get to church, but with my son being in hospital on Christmas eve we decided it was best to stay home. Definitely worth getting dressed up still though, I'd been planning this outfit for so long. I really liked it, even if I didn't get to wear it outside (other then the trip to the bin with the discarded wrapping paper!). It made me smile that my sister was wearing a red dress too, although I forgot to grab a photo of us together.
I definitely did a better job of cooking Christmas dinner than the first attempt I had a few years ago, but there is still room for improvement! Cooking is not my strong skill, but it was edible and people had seconds, which is a win. The leftovers kept us fed for a couple days after too!
Last worn: coral tiered midi dress, metallic bead statement necklace, rose gold sandals, champagne envelope clutch.
Other ways to wear: coral tiered midi dress and denim jacket, rose gold sandals and shorts, champagne envelope clutch and floral dress.
What Fits Inside: Rebecca Minkoff Leo Envelope Clutch
What I wore:
Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
Dress: Kmart red flora printed wrap dress
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold
Why I wore it:
Again this year we had a delayed Christmas celebration at the in-laws on Boxing Day. We had been shopping in Kmart a few months ago when I spotted this dress on the sales rack and mum grabbed it for me - when I unwrapped it I knew it would be perfect for our second Christmas! Even though Christmas at the in-laws is more relaxed, I felt this pretty coral print wrap dress fitted in nicely, and again I wore my little gold envelope clutch as it goes with everything. It's sadly hard to see the earrings in the photo, but I'm wearing the gold resin earrings my mum got me for Christmas too.
Last worn: charm necklace, Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch (above), studded sandals. First time I've worn the dress and the earrings as they were Christmas gifts.
Other ways to wear: Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch and mint dress, studded sandals worn 30 ways.

How You Can Wear It:
A little red dress will always work for a summer Christmas - but coral dresses work too, as you can see in these outfits! Adding some metallic accessories is a nice way to dress up for a more formal Christmas celebration.

DeleteBoth outfits look great on you and I love that clutch, it's such a great statement piece. Okay, 4:45 a.m. is EARLY. Yikes. Hahahaha. Over here as mom of teens I kind of said please roll out of bed and join the family no later than 9 a.m. The different ends of the spectrum.

Two beautiful looks, Mica. I especially love the coral dress, so fun with the Santa hat! We used to have those early Christmas mornings here too, I miss that time when the kids were little but now that they are older it's a relief not having to get up so early as I am definitely more of a night owl than morning person!
ReplyDeleteSorry your son had to be at the hospital on Christmas Eve!
Coral-red is a gorgeous color on you, so I'm sure these dresses will get a lot of wear. Hope your son is doing better!
ReplyDeleteI love that you still wore the dress even for staying at home. There's no reason not to look festive!!

Make Life Marvelous
So sorry that your son was in hospital, I hope he's feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteLove the both dresses, you look really gorgeous!
Oh wow. That really was an early start to Christmas! I remember being a kid and waking up that early, so reading that made me a bit nostalgic. I'm glad you were able to make it a special day. I just love what you wore. How fabulous is that dress? So so pretty. I also adore the dress you wore on Boxing Day! Wow! It's stunning.
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
I think Christmas Day should be a day for pajamas, especially if you have children.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely started the day in pyjamas! It's such a big celebration for us we always like to get dressed up, and it's a good excuse to wear some pretty new clothes!
DeleteWay to go, Mum - I love your new floral wrap dress, Mica! I remember this gold clutch from previous Christmases - it's so shiny and luxe! Staying home on Christmas Day was a good call - your morning sounds like the chaos of my childhood! I remember my dad always joking, "I just need to take a bath first," and us kids going, "No, please, we need to do stockings!!" We always were allowed to do stockings before breakfast, but no under-the-tree presents until the grandparents had arrived.
ReplyDeleteI hope your son is feeling better! Thank you so much for the link-party!
Oh you must have great patience, there was no stopping my boys, they had to get right to presents!
DeleteI love both of these pretty looks on you and that clutch is gorgeous! It sounds like you had a great Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI do hope your son is on the mend. Not the best way to spend Christmas Eve! I think you look especially lovely in the floral wrap dress. How smart of your mom to knab it for a gift. Your accessories are always so good! I hope you'll visit for a 10 on the 10th link party!

Wonderful dresses! I think red-ish colors, like coral, are perfectly festive. I enjoy seeing it a lot during celebrations. It is even more apparent during the winter/Christmas holidays.
ReplyDeleteWishing you the most wonderful week!
Since your Christmas is in the warm season, I always love to see what you wear! Love both of these pretty colorful dresses!

Both dresses are so pretty! So sorry to hear that your son landed in the ER on Christmas Eve though; how sweet that he got to pick out a toy. I'm sure that helped him feel a little bit better.

ReplyDeleteAnd wow...4:45 am!!! I remember the days when my kids were young and the excitement on Christmas Day:D I miss those days for sure! And that was crazy that you had to spend so many hours in the hospital on Christmas, but glad to see how everything turned out ok. XOXO

ReplyDeleteCoral is a fun color. I don't associate it too much with the holidays, but it should be more often!
