Wrap Dresses, Converse and Green Mini 5-Zip Bag

Wearing two printed wrap dresses and my little green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag for office days recently.

Why I wore it:

Every time I wear this faux wrap dress I love it and wonder why it goes so long between wears! It was the perfect dress to wear on this hotter spring day. With some green in the print, I chose my little Rebecca Minkoff green Mini 5-zip bag to wear with it, even though the greens are different shades I really liked the darker green bag against this dress. And the blue Converse are also a different shade from the blue in the geometric print, but again I liked the combination.

Kept the necklace simple with my silver Tiffany notes heart necklace, and had a cardigan at my desk in case I got cold in the office aircon with the sleeveless dress. Didn't need it though, I got pretty warmed up just on the commute to the office!

Why I wore it:

Another wrap dress from the depth of my wardrobe that was overdue a wear! Unfortunately I didn't love this outfit as much as the one above. I did like the black and white print with the pops of green from the Mini 5-zip bag and the green and red clay earrings I made, but the tulip hem of the dress was frustrating me a few times through the day as I sat at my desk. It was also quite a hot day for long sleeved wrap dress with such thick material, which may have made me more frustrated with it!

The dress is quite busy with the print and with the green statement earrings I wasn't sure what necklaces to add. Ended up layering two silver simple chain necklaces, as one on its own didn't look quite right. I liked the layered necklaces together, and I should wear them together more often.

Coral Dresses, Blue Scarves and Leather Jackets

Two very similar outfits for winter office days - colourful coral dresses with black leather jackets, bright blue scarves and my Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

What I wore:

Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit! It was a colder day but with a slip under this dress, my cosy cobalt scarf and the thick leather jacket on top I didn't feel too cold from having my bare ankles popping out from under the dress. By the time I was back from the office and picking the kids up from school I was even warm enough to take the jacket off. Definitely appreciated and needed it on the cold morning commute though!

With the bright coral tiered midi dress I knew this blue scarf would look great. The deep teal Love Too bag is a different shade of blue with this outfit but I think it really worked with this colourful dress. I loved this outfit, colourful for a colder winter day.

Why I wore it:

This outfit I did not love as much as the one above. Very similar with a slip under a midi dress, a warm black leather jacket, sneakers and a cosy blanket scarf. This Louis Vuitton shawl is one of the warmest scarves I have. However I didn't really think this outfit through. I like this dress for work, I've worn it a few times, and the midi dress and leather jacket and cosy scarf combination worked well for the first outfit above.

With this midi dress being a wrap dress though, walking through the city in the morning to get into the office I realised the error of my ways as the wrap dress opens a little at the base as you walk, which left a lot more of my legs exposed to the cold than in the outfit above. I was glad to get into the heated office, and will be keeping this dress only for warmer days!

Kmart Floral Print Dresses and Turquoise Mini MAC

Two very different Kmart printed dresses I wore for a weekend a couple of weeks ago when it was a little warmer! Both bags accessorised with my little Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC that goes with everything.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I did feel a little overdressed for this in the morning when we had a couple of playdates, but that evening we were going out for a birthday dinner and one outfit felt easier for the day! This coral print wrap dress is one mum got me for Christmas, I love how colourful it is. Although this is the first time I've tried the aqua mini MAC bag with it, I really liked the combination. It was the perfect size too as I didn't need to carry much for the playdates or for dinner.

Why I wore it:

I had planned to wear a denim jacket over this, but it was a nice warm morning so I went without one. I definitely needed it in the afternoon though when it started to cool down, with winter just over a week away here in Brisbane it's getting chilly!

It was a nice sunny day for a couple of errands and then a little browse in the opshop - donating a few more things and taking advantage of the 'fill a bag of books for $5' sale to pick up some more books for myself and for the kids. I'm keeping up with my 100 books a year reading goal, the extra commutes into the office now I'm working in there more often help! I'm at 63 books read so far this year, and I'm always picking up books in the opshops in case I don't have any hold requests available when we are on our weekly library trip.

Red and Green Christmas Outfits

A final two festive Christmas outfits to share. While both of these are quite different they both feature red and green that I picked to try and make my outfits a little festive for December, which is when I wore them. My previous post has what I wore for Christmas day.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I knew this Kmart broderie anglaise midi skirt would be perfect for the White Christmas night at the MovieWorld theme park when I spotted it, so it was good mum got me this for Christmas and I was able to wear it a little early. It works so well with the festive reindeer tee mum made me a few years back, and was cool and comfortable for a humid evening at the theme park. We had a lot of fun, enjoying the 'snow' falling, going on the rides, and watching the 4D Polar Express Movie before finishing the night with the parade and ice cream. We were able to stay at my parents after so it wasn't such a long drive home as well which was appreciated.

While I knew this would be great for the event I also ran a few errands in it in the morning, it didn't seem to costume-y for that. I really liked the little red bag against the green of the midi skirt, especially with the little green and red bracelets.

The studded sandals were a good neutral and nice and practical for both errand running in the morning and walking around the theme park in the evening.

Why I wore it:

This was another red and green outfit, although not as obviously festive as the one above. I had to go into the office, so I got this pretty coral wrap dress out again. It's so cute with the white Converse and such a good option for work. I added the gold bauble earrings and the little green bag to make this slightly more Christmassy.

After work I took some Christmas photos with the kids around Brisbane - there were a bunch of Christmas decorations set up around Queen Street and with the boys in their Christmas tees and me in my little red dress we were suitably attired for some family pics.

Printed Dresses and Red Saddle Bag

For my last blog post until after Christmas day, two pretty printed dresses with my little red Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag, that's gotten a lot of wear recently. It's a little nod to the Christmas season!

Why I wore it:

This is what I wore for our annual family Christmas photo. I try get one to put in our Christmas cards every year, although finding somewhere that accepts dogs every year isn't easy. We can't leave Cooper out of the family photo though!

Went with this pretty dress that I wore for a belated Christmas celebration at the in-laws last year. It feels festive, with the bright coral floral print. It's not the first time I've worn these gold bauble earrings or the nude gladiator sandals with this dress, they are great accessories with it.

It's the first time I've worn this little red saddle bag with the dress though - I was worried about the coral print and the red of the bag not looking good together, but I really liked the combination and I'm glad I gave it a try.

Why I wore it:

I wore this back at the end of November, to go down the coast and finish off my Christmas shopping. Just like the family Christmas photo above, it's an annual tradition! My mum and sister and I hit the shops for a full day of shopping to finish buying all our presents. It was a very productive day, we were there at the shops until we heard the closing messages again, and I got a lot of presents bought!

As I knew it would be a long day with a lot of walking and some driving, wore my comfortable Sketchers to support my knee. With the resin bracelet stack, the gold glitter earrings and the little red bag, this felt a bit Christmas-y, without being too festive as it was still November. I really liked this outfit! The red saddle bag looks so good with the autumn leaves print of the dress.

Printed Dresses and Mango Yellow Balenciaga Envelope Clutch

Adding a big pop of colour to my printed dresses for Easter weekend back at the start of April, with my mango yellow Balenciaga envelope clutch.

Why I wore it:

Wore this for an early Easter lunch and egg hunt with my family down the coast. I wanted to be comfortable, so flat sandals and this amazing Jaase printed dress were perfect. I thought that the yellow necklace and mango Balenciaga envelope clutch, along with the statement gold earrings, made this a little more formal for Easter lunch. But still comfortable and practical for a day full of eating and egg hunting and playing in the back yard! We actually all ended up staying for dinner as well, we had so much fun! It was a really good day.

Why I wore it:

Wore this to church on Easter Sunday. Unlike our family egg hunt, I wasn't going to be able to leave my clutch sitting as we ran round searching the garden for eggs. So I decided to take this little chain strap I bought on ebay last year to use with my MbMJ clutch, to turn this Balenciaga envelope clutch into a shoulder bag. It was pretty good for a quick hack, as you can see in the video. Even if the chain strap isn't centred in the bag I found it worked well enough for the morning and afternoon at church. And most importantly, it let me be hands free for the egg hunt with the kids, ha!

Although the Balenciaga envelope clutch has rose gold hardware, with the silver chain strap I felt silver accessories would be best so went with these statement silver leaf earrings and little silver Tiffany necklace.

Coral Kmart Dresses and Chloe Ethel Bag For Kid's Birthday Parties

Wearing my two coral dresses from Kmart for kids birthday parties one weekend - it was a busy weekend with a party each day! With the bright coral in both dresses, I went with a neutral bag, my Chloe small Ethel in light khaki. It's such a roomy bag and this neutral shade goes with everything.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

Not the first time I've worn these Rebecca Minkoff studded gladiator sandals with this dress, I like how the neutral shoe lets the dress have all the attention. I added a few gold accessories with the earrings, which you sadly can't see in the pics because of my hair - gold necklace and this gold cuff.

I thought the gold accessories matched the gold hardware on the Chloe Ethel bag nicely. It's the perfect bag as despite the small size it holds so much!

Was a busy morning rushing around getting ready for the party, but then a fun afternoon watching the kids run around and of course eat way too many lollies!

Why I wore it:

A very comfortable and practical outfit for another birthday party, at at indoor play area. Adidas Superstar sneakers for all the running around between the party area and where the boys were playing, helping the kids find their friends and giving them water too.

I thought that this recently thrifted yellow necklace would be a nice pop with the coral dress - I like all of the different yellow beads in it with the silver tassels. I added the silver statement earrings too, so I'd feel a little dressed up for the party.

Again I went with my Chloe Ethel bag - this bag is perfect for holding all our water bottles.

For today's weekday wear, I'm layering up some wrap dresses for the office with colourful scarves.

Finding the early morning starts in winter a little hard - getting out of bed in the cold before the sun is up and trying to take photos when the sun hasn't been up very long aren't easy things to do!

Why I wore it:

It's not the first time I've layered a tee under this faux wrap dress - I really liked this cobalt one with the print though! I wanted to add a scarf for a little extra warmth and wasn't sure which one to go for when I saw this hot pink one hanging up - I feel it pulled out the pink in the print quite nicely!

With all of the colour I wanted a neutral bag so went with my trusty Rebecca Minkoff Regan satchel - the navy colour goes with everything. I really liked this colourful outfit combination, kept me cosy and cheerful on a cold day in the office. (I did add a jacket on top of this but had to take the pics without it so you could see the sleeves of the tee!).

As this wrap dress has longer sleeves, I didn't layer a tee under this, sticking with my usual singlet for a little extra coverage. The black and white zigzag print on the dress is so fun to wear and a classic black and white colour scheme meant any colourful scarf would look good with this! I decided to go with the burgundy foil feather print scarf, I really liked the combination.

Again I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Regan bag, such a good bag for work and it handles the rain well - I once accidentally spilled an entire bottle of water in it!
