Blue Tees, Black Jeans and Printed Cover Ups

Two jeans and tee outfits with Converse, and Cotton On cover ups for working from home and school run days.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On Leah kimono in Juddy floral cerise
Necklace: mixed metal hammered pendant necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Shelley garment dye tee in faded denim blue
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

It was a bit of a warm day but I reached for this long sleeved cover up as I spent most of the day inside working from home. I did regret my choice of cover up at school pick up, the appointment the boys had after school was cancelled so we ended up playing in the park after school instead and I was quite warm. I did appreciate it at sports in the evening though. Despite being liberal with the bug repellent I like to have a physical barrier against the mozzies too!

I liked this blue tee with the printed waterfall jacket, as the lighter blue of the tee almost matches the lighter blue in the print of the jacket. I really like a bit of matchy-matchy!

Last worn: floral waterfall jacket, blue tee, metal necklace, black jeans, black Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearfloral waterfall jacket and shorts, blue tee and maxi skirt, black jeans and leather jacket, black Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On navy zig zag cover up
Necklace: thrifted blue tone flat bead statement necklace
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

This is a bit of a monochromatic outfit! the faded black skinny jeans with the navy tee looks very similar in shade to the navy background of the printed cover up. I liked the combination though, it created a more muted outfit. Perfect for the school run and another working from home day, with an appointment for my son after school. That was not postponed this time!

While the chevron print on the cover up is a lot brighter than the picture seems to show, I think from a distance the finer print makes it seem less colourful. I added the purple Chloe Paraty bag for a little extra colour as well, and I liked the darker bag with this outfit.

Coral Tees, Black Jeans, Converse, Printed Cover Ups and Falabella Bag

Some cooler and rainy spring days had me reaching for my jeans again! Both of these outfits have black skinny jeans, with Converse and my Stella McCartney Falabella bag. I added more colour with the coral tees and printed cover ups.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Necklace: thrifted wood and marble bead thrifted necklace with white string
Tee: Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This was a very colourful outfit! With the red print in this tropical palm print cover up I was surprised to realise that I hadn't worn it with this coral tee before, they seem like such an obvious combination! I tried it out and I really liked it but figured I'd make the rest of the outfit neutral to balance out all that bright colour. The coated skinny jeans are a firm favourite after I recently thrifted them, and then the black Converse and black Stella McCartney Fallabella bag (also an opshop find!) were nice matchy-matchy neutrals too.

Had a fun morning out with the kids - we had to get new school shoes for them as we only got 3 terms out of the shoes we got at the start of the school year unfortunately. But we headed out to the outlets to take advantage of the sales, got ourselves a few extra treats too and managed to buy a few Christmas presents as well. It was a really productive day, and the storm that had been threatening all morning hit when we were inside the outlets so we thankfully missed the worst of it.

Last worn: tropical palm print cover up, neutral beaded necklace, coral tee, coated denim jeans, black Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to weartropical palm print cover up and green, coral tee and maxi skirt, coated denim jeans and knit, black Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label leopard print cover up with waist tie
Necklace: thrifted neutral silicone and wood bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Target crew neck tee coral red
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

While the colours of this outfit are a little more muted compared to the outfit above, it's a similar outfit formula with the coral tee, printed cover up, and then black skinny jeans, black Converse and black Falabella bag. I liked this just as much as the outfit above. Jeans and a tee is a good outfit choice for rainy spring days. I just had the school run and then working from home, so wanted to be comfortable.

I liked the paler coral tee with all the black here, and the brown animal print cover up works so nicely with the muted colour of the tee and all the black in the outfit. I also like how everything in this outfit is an opshop find! The only piece that wasn't thrifted is the black Converse.

Last worn: animal print cover up, neutral beaded necklace, pale coral tee, faded black skinny jeans, black Converse (above), Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wearanimal print cover up and shorts, pale coral tee and skirt, faded black skinny jeans and cardigan, black Converse and maxi skirt, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

Pink Tees and Black And White Maxi Skirts With Stella McCartney Falabella Bag

Two very colourful outfits, by wearing pink tees with monochromatic black and white printed maxi skirts.

What I wore:

Necklace: Lovisa silver love knitted heart pendant necklace
TeeJeanswest essential v-neck tee in azalea pink
Skirt: thrifted SES Fashions vertical stripe maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus old neon pink bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun day! Kicking off the school holidays the kids went to a vet convention at a nearby vets - it was designed to give the kids a taste for vet life and they loved it, getting to see the animals, the operating rooms, and even had some doggie patients. I even managed a little browse at the opshop too, dropping off more donations, before the kids saw a movie.

I wore this vertical striped maxi skirt as I felt it hadn't been worn in a while! And I thought the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag and black sandals were good matchy-matchy accessories with it. Even the knotted heart necklace matched the silver hardware on the Falabella bag.

The neon pink bracelets don't match the pink of the tee at all, but I saw them in my wardrobe and thought they would be a fun addition with this. With the chain on the Stella McCartney Falabella bag and the bangles on my wrist, this was quite a noisy outfit whenever I moved! I still liked it though.

Last worn: pink tee, knotted heart necklace, vertical stripe maxi skirt, strappy sandals, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearpink tee and shorts, vertical stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, strappy sandals and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and pencil skirt.

What I wore:

EarringsAna Luisa 'Olivia' tassel earrings in pink
TeeCle The Label Charlotte tee in ombre rose
Skirt: thrifted Kmart black and white boho print maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Kept it really simple here for another kids' birthday party, with the black and white printed maxi skirt and the ombre pink tee. Just like the outfit above, I wore the same black strappy sandals, with the Stella McCartney Falabella bag for a little matchy-matchy. Unlike the outfit above though, I didn't add a necklace to this. I thought the ombre pink of the tee was interesting enough, and just added some statement earrings. I did wonder if I should have worn a necklace with this when I looked at the photos, but it didn't worry me when I was wearing the outfit as just like the outfit above, I enjoyed wearing this. The birthday party was really fun too, the kids always have a great time when the party is at the bowling alley!

Last worn: tassel earrings, ombre tee, black and white maxi skirt, strappy sandals (above), Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wearombre tee and shorts, black and white maxi skirt in monochromatic outfit, strappy sandals and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and dress.

Green Floral Duster, Jeans and Metallic Tops

Two outfits making the most of the not to cold yet winter weather in Brisbane to wear my green floral duster again. It's a firm favourite, and in both of these outfits I'm wearing it with grey jeans and metallic tops.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie regular shoulder bag in Luna blue

Why I wore it:

I knew I wanted to give this green duster a wear, despite the cooler morning, as I had a little bit of running around to do that day that would keep me warm. I had the school run, working from home, and then an appointment for my son in the afternoon. This was a great outfit for that.

With the colourful green duster I stuck to neutrals for everything else. I had to add the navy necklace for a bit of darker colour and to break up the monochromatic-ness of the silver tank with the grey skinny jeans, and then decided to add in another shade of blue with the Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie shoulder bag. It's also a great bag for fitting a book inside along with all my essentials to keep me occupied waiting for my son's appointment.

Last worn: green floral duster, silver metallic tank, navy necklace, grey skinny jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie shoulder bag.

Other ways to weargreen floral duster and skirt, silver metallic tank and shortsgrey skinny jeans worn 30 ways, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie shoulder bag.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Tee: Just Jeans Jamie shirt tail v neck tee in coated champagne gold
JeansNobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

I'd considered wearing this gold metallic tee instead of the silver metallic tank above with this duster, so on another warmer day I took the opportunity to wear the duster again just to wear the tee with it. I do love how the green pops against natural metallic pieces! Again I wore grey jeans, these Nobody Denim ones are so comfortable and with the Converse it was nice and practical for working from home, the school run, and sports in the afternoon. I wasn't sure about the silver chain on the Stella McCartney Falabella bag with the gold tee, but I think the neutral black worked so well with this outfit that I'm glad I gave it a try.

Orange and Blue Maxi Skirt and Denim Jacket Outfits

I really like orange and blue together, and recently ended up wearing the combination in both of these maxi skirt outfits.

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: double circle hammered pendant necklace
TeeCotton On The One fitted v tee in washed poolside blue
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Wanted something colourful and comfortable to wear for a busy day. While I was working from home this maxi skirt was comfortable, but with the blue tee also made for a very colourful outfit to ensure that my son could spot me in the crowd in the afternoon as he got an award at school.

With the blue and orange together, I wasn't sure what bag to wear and I thought I'd give this wine purple Chloe Paraty bag a try. I really liked the combination and I'll need to wear this bag with orange again in future!

Last worn: denim jacket, hammered circle necklace, blue tee, orange maxi skirt, Converse, Chloe purple Paraty bag.

Other ways to weardenim jacket and dress, blue tee and pink, orange maxi skirt and stripes, Converse and jeans, Chloe purple Paraty bag and denim skirt.

Perfect for pregnancydenim jacket in second trimester

What I wore:

JacketCotton On girlfriend denim jacket in whitehaven
Necklace: thrifted wood and marble bead thrifted necklace with white string
CamiNew Look orange strappy cami top
Skirt: Jeanswest Farrah blue tie dye maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This maxi skirt was maybe not the best choice for a cooler day - I forgot how tall the slit was and the slight breeze made me a little chilled! This maxi skirt is really better for warmer days. It worked okay for a weekend day with a couple of errands and puppy training class for our recently adopted pup though, as I was mostly indoors thankfully.

Just like the outfit above, I really liked the bright orange with this lighter blue tie dye skirt. I definitely needed the denim jacket to cover up the spaghetti strap cami, and I thought the neutral white helped tone down the brightness of the orange. Along with the neutral accessories I chose as well, the pale necklace and the white converse and black Stella McCartney Falabella bag. I've worn this bag with the maxi skirt before and liked the combination then too.

Last worn: white denim jacket, beaded necklace, orange cami, tie dye maxi skirt, Converse (above), Stella McCartney Falabella.

Other ways to wearwhite denim jacket and dress, orange cami and shorts, tie dye maxi skirt and knit, Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella and blazer.

Midi Skirts and Blazers

Dressing up my midi skirts for cooler autumn days and making them look a little more formal for work, just by adding a comfortable jersey blazer. While both these skirts and resulting outfits feel different, I really liked them both!

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper recycled metal turquoise tassel earring
Jacket: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
Necklace: navy and silver circle pendant tassel necklace
Cami: thrifted no label chambray tie strap cami
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

This was a busy but fun day at work - we had a big team lunch to attend, so while it was cooler on the commute I knew we would be enjoying the sun outside at lunchtime at an outdoor restaurant. This outfit was perfect, I didn't feel too cold, although I did end up keeping my blazer on both at lunch and at my desk. I really liked the navy blazer with the green broderie midi skirt, and the lighter blues of the turquoise tassel necklace, chambray cami and sky grey Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.

With the navy blazer and the turquoise tassel earrings, this navy circle and tassel necklace seemed like a fun bit of matchy-matchy, even if the silver hardware was different from the gold on the mini MAC bag, it tied in with the res of my outfit well and I'm never one to shy away from mixing metals!

Last worn: navy blazer, turquoise tassel earrings, navy tassel necklace, chambray cami, broderie midi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Other ways to wearnavy blazer and dress, chambray cami and jeans, broderie midi skirt in festive outfit, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC with orange.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted flat peach statement bead necklace
TankCle The Label Amelia tank in indigo
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

While this outfit didn't feel as coordinated as the one above, I still loved it! I was so pleased to show off to my stylish colleague that both my Stella McCartney Falabella bag and my leopard print skirt were from the opshop when she complimented them. Sadly she was only in Brisbane for a few days and didn't have time to shop, maybe next time she visits!

I'd planned to wear this grey blazer with the fun leopard print skirt and blue tank, but couldn't decide on a necklace that morning. In the end I went with this orange one for a pop of colour. With the neutral navy tank, grey blazer, black Stella McCartney Falabella bag and black Converse, I think an extra pop of colour was needed with this outfit, even though the skirt makes a statement on its own.

Kmart Printed Culotte Shorts With Red Tees

Wearing my two pairs of Kmart printed culotte shorts with some red tees for hot and humid days at the end of summer in Brisbane.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold and pastel blue beaded necklace with grey string
TeeCotton On The One sangria v-neck tee
Shorts: Kmart culotte short in navy lemon print
Shoes: black matte slim Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

Wore this to start our long holiday weekend with family on Tangalooma Resort (on Mulgumpin island). I had my big Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote as it's both a good beach bag and a great travel bag! It easily fit some snacks, bottles of water, and activities for the ferry ride over to entertain the kids and I, and it meant I didn't need another bag for day to day beach life.

We left early morning and got to enjoy the beach and pools before dinner. It was a busy day of travel but so relaxing once we got the resort on the island. Last time I stayed at Tangalooma was for our honeymoon, so it was great spending time there again. The kids loved it, really should have taken them sooner!

While there is no red in the print of these culotte shorts, I thought the red and navy combination was nice and colourful, and this was a comfortable outfit for our trip.

Last worn: red tee, blue necklace, navy printed culotte shorts, Havaianas, Louis Vuitton Neverfull.

Other ways to wearred tee and turquoise, navy printed culotte shorts and cardiganLouis Vuitton Neverfull worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyLouis Vuitton Neverfull at 38 weeks.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted metallic clay bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Target crew neck tee coral red
Shorts: thrifted Kmart pastel soft culotte shorts in floral print
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus thrifted cream resin bangle duo set and Polka Luka red resin bangle
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

While the outfit above is all things bought new, this outfit is mostly thrifted, except for the sneakers! The coral red tee, beaded necklace, pastel print culotte shorts, resin bracelets and Stella McCartney Falabella bag are all opshop finds.

Just like the outfit above, this shorts and tee outfit was super comfortable. Stayed in Brisbane with this though, no exciting trips, as I was working from home and had the school run. Needed the navy Sketchers sneakers as I'd injured my knee on our holiday, and needed the extra support.

I liked the washed coral tee with this - there is a little rust in the print on these culotte shorts and while the red tee and the red resin bangle aren't an exact shade match, I thought the pieces complimented each other nicely.

Last worn: coral tee, statement beaded necklace, resin bangles, pastel print culotte shorts, Sketchers, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearcoral tee and skirt, pastel print culotte shorts and cardigan, Sketchers and graphic tee, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and maxi dress.

Office Outfits With Newly Opshopped Pieces

Making the most of my recently thrifted pieces I picked up at the opshop earlier this month, and wearing them into the office.

What I wore:

Tee: thrifted Cotton On The one crew tee in green
Skirt: Target textured silver pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus thrifted cream resin bangle duo set and Polka Luka teal resin bangle
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This green tee is so soft! Knew it was a must-buy when I stumbled across it in the opshop. I have a lot of Cotton On tees, although this is my first green one, and I really like them! I kept it simple for its first wear, wearing it with this grey textured pencil skirt mum got me for Christmas and my thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella bag. It's such a great skirt for an office day.

Couldn't decide what necklace to wear with this. The chains on the Falabella make enough of a statement, so I decided to go with a couple chunky bangles on my arm, and I added this teal resin bracelet to the cream resin bangle duo I thrifted. Even though the shade of green on the bangle is different from the green tee, I really liked these together. Wore my comfortable Converse for the commute and because I had a couple of errands to run after picking up the kids from school.

Last worn: textured pencil skirt, teal resin bangle, black Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag. First time I've worn the white resin bracelets and the green tee as they are recent purchases.

Other ways to weartextured pencil skirt with black, black Converse and shorts, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace (new purchase)
Tank: Jeanswest Florence print long line tank
Skirt: thrifted &Me blue linen button up midi skirt with pockets (new purchase)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus wooden bead bracelet set
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

This is an outfit I had an idea would work and then I was in a rush to get to the office so threw all the pieces on without really thinking. Not sure it worked as well as I liked, but it did certainly keep me cool and comfortable for a very humid day at work with a delicious team lunch outdoors.

With this blue linen button up midi skirt I thought the brown printed tank would be a great pairing, both featuring button detail and the criss-cross print on the tank being similar to the linen pattern on the skirt. The burgundy and cream beaded necklace could have been swapped out for something smaller and I think I would have liked it more, it was just a very busy outfit with this all together. I liked the way the darker burgundy beads worked with the deep purple small Chloe Paraty bag though, that was a nice pairing.

Last worn: brown printed tank, blue Converse, Chloe purple Paraty bag. First time I've worn the necklace and linen midi skirt as they are recent opshop purchases.

Other ways to wearbrown printed tank and blazer, blue Converse and dress, Chloe purple Paraty bag and jeans

Perfect for pregnancyprinted tank in third trimester.

Pink Tiered Dresses And Stella McCartney Falabella Bag

Wearing two pretty pink tiered midi dresses, for two different events lately. One more formal the other more casual. Wearing my recently thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella bag with both dresses too, black and pink always work!

What I wore:

Earrings: silver spiral earrings
Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Orange Sherbet Zoe tiered dress in geranium print pink
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage charm bracelet
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

It was a day threatening to storm and rain so I added little black ankle boots to this pink and red floral print Orange Sherbet tiered midi dress. I picked it up at the preloved fashion markets this year and I'm so glad I did, I love it! With the black boots, the black Stella McCartney Falabella seemed like a good matchy-matchy choice, and it also had plenty of room for my essentials, some snacks, and my camera. We had an awards ceremony to attend for my son. I'm being vague for privacy reasons, but it was a very fancy ceremony and I'm very proud of him! It was so good to see his joy as he was celebrated in front of so many people.

Last worn: silver necklace, Orange Sherbet dress, black ankle boots, Stella McCartney Falabella.

Necklace: thrifted purple wooden bead statement necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Another pink tiered midi dress, again with my Stella McCartney Falabella bag. I love this bag as it works with everything! Wore this for a much more casual event, a kids birthday party. It was a lot of fun, but such a hot day. I was very thankful for this dress which catches the breeze so nicely, and the tiered loose style makes it comfortable in the heat. I did try dress it up a little with the matchy-matchy purple necklace and statement earrings, but still wore my comfortable Havaianas as it was just a nice relaxed party with friends. My kids kept talking about how it was the best party ever, they had a blast!

Last worn: lilac earrings, pastel necklace, pink tiered dress, Havaianas, Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wear: pink tiered dress and denim jacket, Stella McCartney Falabella bag in the office.
