Jeans, Tees and Blue Balenciaga Bags

Some simple jeans and tee outfits I wore recently, that I added some colourful necklaces and blue Balenciaga bags too.

What I wore:

JacketThe Kindness Kimono 'Dream Catch Me' print
Necklace: adjustable coral flat bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

This grey tunic tee with the black coated jeans is a combination I've worn before, but this time around I tucked the tunic in and added some more colourful accessories. Last time I wore the two together, it was a more neutral outfit. But I added the printed cover up for a little extra colour and interest, and then the coral necklace as I felt it matched the colours in the print nicely.

I kept the shoes neutral with the black Converse, good for running around a little as I had the school run as well as working from home. Did add more colour with the turquoise blue Balenciaga first bag though, I really like how it pops against neutrals like the jeans and tee.

Last worn: printed cover up, coral necklace, grey tunic, coated jeans, Converse, Balenciaga first bag.

Other ways to wearprinted cover up and skirt, grey tunic and shorts, coated jeans and knitConverse and dress, Balenciaga first bag and band tee.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
Tee: thrifted black and white space dye peplum tee
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoes: thrifted Seed Heritage tan braided sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete

Why I wore it:

Another blue Balenciaga bag! I picked my Balenciaga day as I hadn't worn it in a while and I needed a big bag to fit a book and some water bottles as I accompanied my son to a birthday party at an indoor play area. It was loud so I was intending on hiding in a corner and reading my book, but one of my friends was there with her child who was also attending so I chatted with her instead.

Kept it simple again with a jeans and tee outfit, although I changed it up a little with the peplum tee and the colourful pink jeans. Both the peplum top and jeans are opshop finds, as is the layered tassel necklace I added for a little more colour.

Last worn: peplum tee, tassel necklace, pink jeans, braided sandals, Balenciaga tempete day bag.

Other ways to wearpeplum tee and shorts, pink jeans and knit, braided sandals and dress, Balenciaga tempete day bag and skirt.

Perfect for pregnancy: Balenciaga tempete day bag in third trimester.

Yellow Bag with Pink and Floral Print Outfits

Two outfits featuring pink and floral print with my mustard yellow Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag.

What I wore:

NecklaceTiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
Dress: thrifted no label pastel floral print babydoll dress
Shoes: thrifted Seed Heritage tan braided sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold

Why I wore it:

This was a really hot spring day that felt like summer, so this pastel floral print babydoll dress was the perfect outfit to wear. I added the simple braided sandals as it was much too hot for closed in shoes!

Had to take my son to a birthday party, and had a couple of errands to run and groceries to buy. I liked the simplicity of this dress for such a hot day.

With the yellow in the print of the dress, this mustard Rebecca Minkoff Regan bag was a nice matchy-matchy accessory.

Last worn: Tiffany heart necklace, floral babydoll dress, braided sandals, Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag.

Other ways to wearfloral babydoll dress and blazer, braided sandals and white dress, Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag worn 30 ways.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Polly printed kimono in white base ditsy floral
Necklace: thrifted yellow beaded statement pendant long necklace
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold

Why I wore it:

This was a cooler spring day, but still with floral print and some pink, with these pink frayed hem jeans. I thought the yellow bag would be a fun accessory with this, although it doesn't quite match the outfit like it did when I wore it with the dress. There is yellow in the floral print of my cover up, and I added more yellow with the yellow necklace, although they are different shades I thought the colours in this all worked nicely together.

I wore this simple navy tee that's been getting a lot of wear lately as I wanted a nice neutral piece to wear with all the pink and yellow. I really liked this outfit and I'm glad I was inspired to give the yellow and pink colour combination another try thanks to the dress above.

Last worn: floral print cover up, yellow necklace, navy tee, pink jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan (above).

Blue Tees, Black Jeans and Printed Cover Ups

Two jeans and tee outfits with Converse, and Cotton On cover ups for working from home and school run days.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On Leah kimono in Juddy floral cerise
Necklace: mixed metal hammered pendant necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Shelley garment dye tee in faded denim blue
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

It was a bit of a warm day but I reached for this long sleeved cover up as I spent most of the day inside working from home. I did regret my choice of cover up at school pick up, the appointment the boys had after school was cancelled so we ended up playing in the park after school instead and I was quite warm. I did appreciate it at sports in the evening though. Despite being liberal with the bug repellent I like to have a physical barrier against the mozzies too!

I liked this blue tee with the printed waterfall jacket, as the lighter blue of the tee almost matches the lighter blue in the print of the jacket. I really like a bit of matchy-matchy!

Last worn: floral waterfall jacket, blue tee, metal necklace, black jeans, black Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearfloral waterfall jacket and shorts, blue tee and maxi skirt, black jeans and leather jacket, black Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On navy zig zag cover up
Necklace: thrifted blue tone flat bead statement necklace
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

This is a bit of a monochromatic outfit! the faded black skinny jeans with the navy tee looks very similar in shade to the navy background of the printed cover up. I liked the combination though, it created a more muted outfit. Perfect for the school run and another working from home day, with an appointment for my son after school. That was not postponed this time!

While the chevron print on the cover up is a lot brighter than the picture seems to show, I think from a distance the finer print makes it seem less colourful. I added the purple Chloe Paraty bag for a little extra colour as well, and I liked the darker bag with this outfit.

Blue Tanks, Denim Shorts, Yellow Bag and Printed Cover Ups

Sticking again with easily repeatable outfit formulas for some hot spring days recently. Both these outfits have a little yellow bag, blue tanks, denim shorts and a printed cover up.

What I wore:

JacketWoven Heart gold floral kimono
Necklace: thrifted wooden yellow tassel necklace
TankCle The Label Amelia tank in indigo
Shorts: Jeanswest Trinity Bermuda denim shorts
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

Although the yellow tassel necklace is a slightly lighter shade of yellow than that in the bag, I liked the almost matchy-matchy-ness of the two accessories together. I picked this fun floral cover up to go on top as it has yellow in the flower print, but it doesn't really show too much in the photos because of how it's draped. I really liked this combination though!

Went with a simple blue tank untucked over my Bermuda denim shorts and my comfortable Sketchers sneakers as we headed out for a citizen science event at a local bushland reserve. I knew it would be a hot day with a lot of walking, so wanted to keep my knee comfortable. Luckily because I was there with the kids we were sorted into the kid group and there wasn't too much walking, but we still did manage to see an awesome number of bugs so they had a great time.

Last worn: floral duster, yellow tassel necklace, blue tank, Bermuda denim shorts, Sketchers, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip bag.

Other ways to wearfloral duster and skirt, blue tank and printed jeansBermuda denim shorts worn 30 ways, Sketchers and linen shorts, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip bag and dress.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Kensley summer tie-dye kimono
Necklace: thrifted yellow beaded statement pendant long necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maya gather back tank in mid turquoise
Shorts: thrifted Jeanswest distressed denim shorts
Shoes: thrifted Seed Heritage tan braided sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

While I didn't need the navy tie dye duster for sun protection on my shoulders like I did with the floral cover up in the first photo, I still love the combination of a printed cover up with a plain tank. This turquoise one works well with other shades of blue and I really liked it with the tie dye cover up and the blue denim shorts.

Again I went matchy-matchy with the yellow accessories, the same Rebeccaa Minkoff mini 5-zip bag, and this yellow beaded necklace. Even added a little yellow hair tie to further match. I like yellow and blue together.

It was a bit of a busy day, with the school run, working from home, and a couple appointments for the kids in the afternoon. I liked this outfit for keeping me cool and comfortable for all the running around.

Last worn: navy tie dye cover up, yellow necklace, turquoise tank, denim shorts, braided sandals, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy tie dye cover up and jeans, turquoise tank and maxi skirt, denim shorts in thrifted outfit, braided sandals and dress, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip bag and skirt.

Pink Tees and Black And White Maxi Skirts With Stella McCartney Falabella Bag

Two very colourful outfits, by wearing pink tees with monochromatic black and white printed maxi skirts.

What I wore:

Necklace: Lovisa silver love knitted heart pendant necklace
TeeJeanswest essential v-neck tee in azalea pink
Skirt: thrifted SES Fashions vertical stripe maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus old neon pink bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun day! Kicking off the school holidays the kids went to a vet convention at a nearby vets - it was designed to give the kids a taste for vet life and they loved it, getting to see the animals, the operating rooms, and even had some doggie patients. I even managed a little browse at the opshop too, dropping off more donations, before the kids saw a movie.

I wore this vertical striped maxi skirt as I felt it hadn't been worn in a while! And I thought the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag and black sandals were good matchy-matchy accessories with it. Even the knotted heart necklace matched the silver hardware on the Falabella bag.

The neon pink bracelets don't match the pink of the tee at all, but I saw them in my wardrobe and thought they would be a fun addition with this. With the chain on the Stella McCartney Falabella bag and the bangles on my wrist, this was quite a noisy outfit whenever I moved! I still liked it though.

Last worn: pink tee, knotted heart necklace, vertical stripe maxi skirt, strappy sandals, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearpink tee and shorts, vertical stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, strappy sandals and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and pencil skirt.

What I wore:

EarringsAna Luisa 'Olivia' tassel earrings in pink
TeeCle The Label Charlotte tee in ombre rose
Skirt: thrifted Kmart black and white boho print maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Kept it really simple here for another kids' birthday party, with the black and white printed maxi skirt and the ombre pink tee. Just like the outfit above, I wore the same black strappy sandals, with the Stella McCartney Falabella bag for a little matchy-matchy. Unlike the outfit above though, I didn't add a necklace to this. I thought the ombre pink of the tee was interesting enough, and just added some statement earrings. I did wonder if I should have worn a necklace with this when I looked at the photos, but it didn't worry me when I was wearing the outfit as just like the outfit above, I enjoyed wearing this. The birthday party was really fun too, the kids always have a great time when the party is at the bowling alley!

Last worn: tassel earrings, ombre tee, black and white maxi skirt, strappy sandals (above), Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wearombre tee and shorts, black and white maxi skirt in monochromatic outfit, strappy sandals and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and dress.

Denim Dresses With Yellow Mini 5 Zip Bag and Yellow Necklaces

Two denim dress outfits for spring, both accessorised with this adorable little yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag. It works well with the different denim washes.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted chartreuse necklace
Dress: Kmart denim short sleeve button front midi dress
Shoes: thrifted Seed Heritage tan braided sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

Got this denim maxi dress out again for another kids' birthday party. It's quite a thick denim and warm dress so I'm not sure I'll be able to wear it much over summer, but I love the darker wash and the long maxi length. Because it buttons fully I'd be able to wear it as a duster as well, although I have only worn it as a dress so far.

Despite being a warmer dress it was perfect on this day, and I liked the simple braided sandals with it. I wanted to add a little extra colour with all that darker blue denim, so I added the chartreuse necklace and then the yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini5 zip bag. Even though they are not the same shades of yellow I liked the two pieces together against the blue denim.

Last worn: denim maxi dress, chartreuse necklace, braided sandals, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag.

Other ways to weardenim maxi dress and leather jacket, braided sandals and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted yellow beaded statement pendant long necklace
DressTarget puff sleeve tiered denim dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

Another denim dress for another spring day! I needed something nice and simple for a busy day, with an appointment for my son in the morning and then working from home for the rest of the day. This tiered denim dress is so comfortable and I liked the extra blue with the Converse sneakers. Like the outfit above, again I chose the little yellow mini 5 zip bag to add some colour.

And I chose this silver and yellow pendant necklace to follow the same outfit formula as the outfit above. It pairs so well with the bag too. I like a little bit of matchy-matchy with my accessories sometimes!

Last worn: tiered denim dress, yellow necklace, blue Converse sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip bag (above).

What I Bought How I've Worn It: #SecondHandSeptember

Managed to stick to second hand September with my purchases this month. After thrifting a few accessories in August I ended up buying a couple of clothing items from my frequent trips to the opshop for books for the kids and I.

What I bought:

  • thrifted Kmart black and white boho print maxi skirt
  • thrifted purple and red Paisley print duster

How I wore it:

Both the black and white printed maxi skirt and the purple and red Paisley print cover up were lucky opshop finds, and I've worn them a few times this month already, along with a few other preloved pieces I have in my wardrobe.

The Paisley print cover up is so fun and for only $1 I just had to have it. I really like the colours in the print and with the spring weather being here in Brisbane it's been perfect for the temperatures, so I've already worn it three times.

The black and white printed maxi skirt was another $1 item, from my favourite opshop. I only managed to wear it twice this month but I know it will be a staple in my wardrobe like my other maxi skirts.  It's so good with sandals for spring.

I wasn't intending to buy anything this month, but always have a browse of the other items whenever I visit an opshop, and I'm pleased with these additions to my wardrobe that resulted. And despite being firmly casual pieces, I was still able to hit my "wear twice in the month I buy it" goal with both, even with my increase of days working in the office and decrease in work from home days.

Maxi Skirts, Navy Tees, Denim Jackets and Chloe Paraty Bag

Some spring maxi skirt outfits I wore recently, both with navy tees, denim jackets and blue bags. Both of these skirts were opshop finds.

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: thrifted neutral silicone and wood bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Marcs navy lurex detail foil tee
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

This cotton maxi skirt was awesome on this hot day! It has pockets too which is always a winner. I wore it with another thrifted piece, this foil tee. I needed the denim jacket in the cooler morning, although when I was running errands later I'd taken it off, as the day warmed up so much!

The boys had a kid's birthday party and I also had a lot of errands to run. I wore the Chloe Paraty bag as I like the light periwinkle blue with both red and navy, and because it has room for all the essentials plus my latest library book for when I was waiting for an appointment between errands.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
Necklace: thrifted bronze foil statement necklace
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie regular shoulder bag in Luna blue

Why I wore it:

This orange maxi skirt is on that is frequently worn with blue. I like the navy tee with it, it's the first time I've worn the two together surprisingly. The denim moto jacket is a frequently worn piece with this skirt though, they look so good together.

Just like the day above I didn't need the denim jacket all day though, with the weather warming up nicely as the kids had a sports session.

The Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie bag added another shade of blue to this outfit and also has space for all my essentials plus my latest library book so it was an obvious choice to carry.

Thrifted Printed Dresses And Purple Paraty Bag

Two more summer-ish outfits, with these thrifted printed dresses. I wore these at the end of winter, when Brisbane forgot about spring and swapped to hot and humid summer temps. It was nice to get these dresses out without all the layers!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted neutral silicone and wood bead necklace
Dress: thrifted no label pastel floral print babydoll dress
Shoes: thrifted Les Tropeziennes Par M.Belarbi leopard print and gold leather sandals (recent purchase)
Bracelets: the usual plus wooden bead bracelet set
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Wore this for working from home with the school run, and watching my son get some awards at school. It was such a got day so this light floral dress was ideal for the humidity. It was a good chance to wear these sandals for the first time too. I thrifted them back in July, when it was firmly winter in Brisbane, and I've been waiting for a chance to the weather to warm up to wear them. They are very cute and comfortable.

With the light floral dress, wooden beaded necklace and bracelets, the purple Paraty seemed a bit dark with all the lighter colours and neutrals, but I'm so glad I picked this bag. It works well with the colours in the floral print of the dress and it fit all the essentials plus my camera for taking photos at the award ceremony.

Also, with the Chloe Paraty bag being a preloved buy, everything I'm wearing in this outfit except the bracelets is a second hand purchase!

Last worn: floral dress, neutral beaded necklace, wooden bracelets, Chloe purple Paraty bag. First time I've worn the sandals as they were a winter opshop find.

Other ways to wear: floral dress and blazer, Chloe purple Paraty bag and jeans.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted blue tone flat bead statement necklace
Dressthrifted no label blue checked smock sundress
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Like the sandals above, this dress was also a winter opshop find. I did try layer it up for the colder weather but it didn't really work. I much more enjoyed this way of wearing it. It was a super hot day and we headed out to a local festival. Lots of walking and time in the sunshine, so this light and floaty smock dress was perfect. I added the Sketchers sneakers for comfort for my knee injury when walking, and I have to confess I liked the matchy-matchy with the blues in the grid print of the dress and the blue beaded necklace.

Again I wore my Chloe purple Paraty bag. I like it with blues and just like in the first outfit, it fits all the essentials and then a little extra so I had space for water bottles as well.

Last worn: blue beaded necklace, checked smock dress, navy Sketchers, Chloe purple Paraty bag (above).

Other ways to wearchecked smock dress and winter layers, navy Sketchers and shorts, Chloe purple Paraty bag and skirt.

Orange Tiered Dresses, Denim Jackets and Chloe Periwinkle Paraty Bag

A surprising burst of summer-like weather at the end of winter in Brisbane had me reaching for dresses and lighter jackets. Both these orange tiered dresses were perfect for the surprisingly hot winter days I wore them on.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
Necklace: thrifted blue tone flat bead statement necklace
DressJeanswest Lilah tiered linen dress in orange
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

This was the first day of summer-like heat in winter, so I knew a linen dress would be a good choice but thought I might be a little cold without the denim jacket. It ended up warming up so much that I had the denim jacket off for most of the day! The linen dress was a good choice.

I liked the bright orange background of the dress as the blue toned beaded necklace looked really good with it, it's one of the necklaces I thrifted recently. And with the pale blue denim moto jacket the Chloe Paraty seemed like a nice choice. Even though the shades of blue are different they are close enough together that I really like the pairing. And this Chloe Paraty bag is just the right size for the essentials plus my latest library book that I took along to sit on the side lines of my son's sport sessions. Thankfully that was in the morning, before the day heated up too much.

Last worn: denim moto jacket, orange linen dress, leather Converse, Chloe periwinkle Paraty bag. First time I've worn this necklace as it's a recent opshop find.

Other ways to weardenim moto jacket and printed skirt, orange linen dress and tote bag, leather Converse and striped dress, Chloe periwinkle Paraty bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: thrifted mint silicone statement necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey midi dress in amber
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

I've been wearing a lot of orange and blue again lately, and as I liked it in the first outfit I wore the combination again a few days later! This tiered midi dress is a firm favourite, especially with blue! The periwinkle blue Chloe Paraty and the darker wash denim jacket both look really good with this shade of orange.

I added this recently thrifted necklace too, I like the little mint beads against the orange dress more than I thought I would. Nice and simple outfit, where I again ended up discarding the denim jacket later in the day as it was so warm! I was working from home and then taking Coops to a vet appointment over lunchtime.

Last worn: denim jacket, thrifted necklace, amber tiered midi dress, white Converse (above), Chloe Periwinkle Paraty bag (above).

Other ways to weardenim jacket worn 30 ways, amber tiered midi dress worn 2 ways, white Converse and maxi skirt, Chloe Periwinkle Paraty bag and midi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancydenim jacket in second trimester.
