What I wore:
Earrings: A Little Bit of North blue mandala earrings (giveaway prize, close up photo)
Jacket: Asos Black by Markus Lupfer printed leather jacketNecklace: blush pink and gold beaded tassel necklace
Tee: Atmos & Here black essential v-neck tee
Dress: Jeanswest grey snake print maxi dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum (on sale!)
Why I wore it:
Wore this for my eldest boy's birthday party! Crazy to think he's 5 years old now! We celebrated at an indoor play area with his kindy friends - nice and easy party as I didn't have to entertain a room of kindergarteners or clean up after them 😂For something a little different, with all the animal print skirts that are around at the moment, I decided to give this pretty maxi dress a wear. It's definitely much too glam for a kids birthday party (I've worn it before to a wedding) but dressed down with ankle boots and a plain tee I thought it worked nicely as a skirt. I really liked this outfit, even if the dress as a skirt did slide down a bit - I think a belt is needed to keep it in place next time, I just wore it with the halter neck around my waist so it didn't show under the tee.
It felt a bit monochromatic for a birthday party, so I added a little extra colour with the blush tassel necklace and purple mini MAB tote bag.
Last worn: printed leather jacket, black tee, blush tassel necklace, snake print maxi dress, black ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag.
Other ways to wear: printed leather jacket worn 30 ways, black tee and a-line skirt, snake print maxi dress and red clutch, 30 ways to wear black ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag worn 30 ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: snake print maxi dress at 39 weeks, ankle boots in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote bag in second trimester.
Favourite Rebecca Minkoff Bag:
What I wore:
Necklace: ZuriCollections blue polymer clay necklace
Tee: Atmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
Shoes: Asos leather Chelsea boots in tan
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral
Why I wore it:
This dress is one I can't wear in the middle of winter, the little crochet gaps between the tiers make it a bit too chilly on a cold day, but for a cold morning and warmer day it was perfect. I wore this out to church and actually ended up taking the leather jacket off in the afternoon as it was too warm.I like wearing this tee over maxi dresses, so although it's the first time I've worn this tee and dress together it's not the first time I've layered this tee over a dress. It's supposed to be a cropped style, but being petite it hits as the perfect point for me so it makes it easy to wear over a long dress!
The little Rebecca Minkoff love bag I wanted to get out for another wear. Usually just a special occasion / night out bag, I thought it would look good with the coral print on this maxi dress, even if it's more peach than pink. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my new smaller wallet fits in this bag so expect to see it worn more often now I don't have to worry about taking things out of my wallet to swap into the bag when I use it.
Last worn: black leather jacket, navy cropped tee, clay necklace, tropical print maxi dress, Asos Chelsea ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff small love bag.
Other ways to wear: black leather jacket at Disneyland, navy cropped tee and printed shorts, tropical print maxi dress and converse, Asos Chelsea ankle boots and burgundy pants, Rebecca Minkoff small love bag and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: Asos Chelsea ankle boots in second trimester.
Maxi Dresses Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
In summer a maxi dress is a nice easy all-in-one outfit option. You can layer a maxi dress up for cooler weather too, adding a tee on top for more warmth as well as a leather jacket and ankle boots. A few more layers than you need in summer, but still quite an easy outfit to pull together.Linking up with Friday Faves, Fancy Friday, Lizzie In Lace, Weekend Wear, Fun In The Sun, Sunday Reflections, Sunday Best, Mutton Style, On Mondays We Link Up.
