What I wore:
Tank: Target embroidered khaki tank
Skirt: thrifted navy viscose drawstring no label maxi skirt
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip (new purchase)
Why I wore it:
Making the most of a public holiday Monday, I finally got some time to meet my friend's baby! While we had dropped a few things off to them and they had stopped by without the baby now and then we'd been avoiding introducing the kids. I'd been nervous over winter with the kids being so sick and so many germs around school, and then when we finally put a date in for Spring my son got sick again and we had to push it back. I was so glad we were all healthy and cough free to be able to go get some adorable baby cuddles at last! She is the cutest baby and my friends are taking to parenthood so well, they are naturals!I knew that the tassel detail on this olive embroidered tank would come in handy if she was a grabby little girl and she is, but she preferred pulling on my hair. With her smile though, couldn't be mad at her! It was a hot day so this navy maxi skirt came out again - a thrift find a while back, it's nice and light for a hot day. I did second guess the denim jacket while running errands afterwards though, it was a very hot afternoon!
First wearing of this little yellow Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag I splurged on recently too. I just love how it popped against the neutral outfit!
Last worn: denim jacket, olive embroidered tank, navy maxi skirt, Havaianas. First time I've worn the bag as it's a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket worn 30 ways, olive embroidered tank and shorts, navy maxi skirt and printed tee.
Perfect for pregnancy: denim jacket in second trimester.

My Colourful Rebecca Minkoff Handbag Collection:
What I wore:
Necklace: Starfish Project Veronica short yellow multi strand necklace
Dress: Atmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff olive mini Darren (new purchase)
Why I wore it:
Another pop of yellow! This one a much smaller pop. Surprisingly, I haven't worn this necklace with the navy striped dress before, but I have worn the dress with a yellow scarf. Just like in the outfit above, I think the yellow really pops with the navy.Navy is one of my go-to neutrals when I'm not sure what to wear something with, so it made this navy and black striped shift dress the perfect pairing for my first time wearing the little Rebecca Minkoff mini Darren bag. It was advertised as brown but is definitely an olive in person. It is super cute and despite it's small size I've actually been wearing it quite a lot since I got it!
With the black stripes on the dress, the Adidas Superstar sneakers seemed like a fun matchy-matchy combination, and they were a practical choice too. As it was the Spring school holidays, we checked out a new playground in the morning then it was back home while I worked for a bit before I took the kids out to the library in the afternoon. Perfect shoes for a bit of running and driving around.

How You can Wear It:
Navy and olive look so good together, and you can brighten up a neutral outfit featuring these two colours with a bright pop of yellow! A yellow statement necklace or yellow handbag really pops against navy.

ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week,
S
Mica, you are so adorable! I absolutely love the first outfit. Navy and olive are so pretty together and your little yellow bag adds the perfect burst of brightness. I am so happy that you finally go to meet your friend’s new baby! My neighbors directly across the street have a brand new baby as well but with all the school crud and coughing going on, I have kept my distance, too. One of these days I will get to hold the little guy! I hope you have a wonderful week!

I would have never thought of putting navy and olive together, and the pop of yellow is an awesome touch. I love how well they go together!! I'm so glad you got to visit with your friends and meet their sweet new baby! :) I can definitely understand not getting introduced right away with sickness going on, that can be so nerve-wracking, especially with a baby.
