First day of school! After what seemed like a very short summer break, it was back to school for the kids. I was a bit emotional, as they were staring their new grades, but they were just so happy to be back with all their friends and catch up with those we hadn't had the chance to have playdates with over the holidays. After school drop off, I had a quick errand to run before working from home, and then back to pick up the kids in the afternoon before taking them out for a little treat for completing the first day of school for the year.

I really like pink and purple together, so was eager to try this pretty purple Paraty bag with this black dress, with the pink and blue floral print. I really liked the combination, and I appreciated this light dress on such a hot and humid day. It felt like it was constantly going to storm all day, but the rain didn't break until later that evening.

What I wore:
Dress: Kmart strappy tiered sundress in watercolour blue and blush print
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Chloe small Paraty bag in wine purple
Why I wore it:
This was another hot day - much too hot to wear anything more than a simple dress for the school run, and spend the day working from home and enjoying the aircon while doing so! We had planned to complete a couple of errands after I picked the kids up from school, but we decided to skip it and complete them the next day, so we could just relax in the cool air at home.As this is a spaghetti strap sundress I usually try cover up my shoulders when I wear this dress, to add some physical sunblock. But with the heat and humidity - and us avoiding spending too much time outside, I was not going to tolerate any layering. Except the little bit of necklace layering I tried. Thank goodness for light tiered dresses like this in heatwaves, instant outfit!
Last worn: Kmart tiered sundress, coin necklace, stone pendant necklace, Havaianas, Chloe purple Paraty bag (above).
Other ways to wear: Kmart tiered sundress and denim jacket, Chloe purple Paraty bag and shorts and tee.

How You Can Wear It:
Blue, pink, and purple are a wonderful trio when worn together. If you're unsure about wearing three colours in one outfit, use an accessory to give you that third colour, as I have here with the purple Chloe Paraty bag.

I am always a fan of floral dresses and both of these are so pretty. I really love the second one, and I'm usually the same way about covering up my shoulders (I burn so easily), but sometimes you just have to be cool, haha!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fantastic start to your week, my friend! :)

Two gorgeous dresses, Mica, although with the temperatures being just above freezing point here, it's hard to imagine wearing a spaghetti strap dress :-)

That long-sleeved dress has to be my favourite - and it goes SO well with your lovely purple bag, Mica! I can't even imagine it being so warm here - but your sundress sounds like the best solution for a sweltering day! Says the woman wearing 3 layers PLUS a coat today!

Is it crazy that the words "heatwave" sound awesome. LOL! We are having a really nice winter for us but summer sounds fantastic. Love both of these dresses a lot. Congrats to the kids kicking off another school year! Summer vacation really does go by so quickly. I was going to ask, do you work fulltime at home?

We have hybrid ways of working so we can work at home or the office - my team tends to only go into the office when it's really needed so I mostly work from home at the moment :)
DeleteAdult getting emotional..lol reality ..you look lovely.
