What I wore:
Necklace: blush pink and gold beaded tassel necklace
Tee: Atmos & Here black essential v-neck tee
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress (worn 30 times)
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Chloe periwinkle small Paraty
Why I wore it:
This maxi dress is such a staple - and this was it's 30th wear! I was so happy to be able to put together a 30 ways to wear post with it, it's a dress I really enjoy wearing. Nice and colourful outfit for spending the day out with the kids - it looked like it would be a cooler day so I added the black tee on top but it quickly warmed up and I had to hunt out some shade to sit in as the kids played in the playground. Luckily the library we headed to afterwards had aircon! The black Converse matched the black tee nicely, but I felt it dressed down the outfit a little so I added the pretty gold statement earrings to stop it looking too casual. The blush necklace I was surprised to see that I haven't worn with this dress before as it compliments the colours in the print so nicely!
And of course the periwinkle blue of the Chloe small Paraty bag works so well with the blues in the floral print. Just big enough for some snacks and all our water bottles too.
Last worn: gold earrings, black v-neck tee, blush tassel necklace, Kmart floral print tiered maxi dress, Converse, Chloe small periwinkle Paraty bag.
Other ways to wear: black v-neck tee and jeans, Kmart floral print tiered maxi dress worn 30 ways, Converse for long haul flight, Chloe small periwinkle Paraty bag and navy sundress.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.

How To Remove Chloe Paraty Strap (And a Little Hack!)
What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart rose gold and pink beaded necklace
Tee: Spectrum basic v-neck tee in washed lilacDress: JayJays feather print maxi dress
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Chloe periwinkle small Paraty
Why I wore it:
This outfit just duplicates the first one really. Again I knotted a v-neck tee over a printed maxi skirt, and added black Converse, a blush and gold necklace, and the periwinkle chloe Paraty! I do like repeating an outfit formula if I enjoyed wearing it previously. With the lilac tee and the darker feather print of the maxi dress this is a very different colour combo from the first outfit, but that same comfortable formula. I wore it for another day with the playground and the library too even! Not quite as fun as the day above though we also had some errands to run which did not go smoothly. And then because 2 of our routes home were blocked we had to take the long way around, turning a 5 minutes trip into 45 minutes with the traffic. One of those days!
I did however really like the purple and periwinkle combo - I'll need to wear this Paraty bag with purple again in the future!
Last worn: lilac v-neck tee, blush and gold necklace, feather print maxi dress, Converse (above), Chloe periwinkle blue small Paraty bag (above).
Other ways to wear: lilac v-neck tee and kimono, feather print maxi dress for a wedding, Converse and tee dress, Chloe periwinkle blue small Paraty bag and printed shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: lilac v-neck tee in second trimester, feather print maxi dress in second trimester, Converse in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A knotted tee over a maxi dress is a great option! It can add a little sun coverage on a day at the playground, or warmth on a cooler autumn day. You can pick a tee that pulls some colour out of the print of the dress, or contrast it entirely. A a neutral like a black tee always works!

I love doing this with my dresses especially if it is a tank dress or more of a low cut. Makes it quite comfortable and gives more outfit options. Love love that first dres but that second one is pretty too.

Knotting a tee over a maxi dress is such a great idea, and will ensure you get even more wear out of your maxi dresses. I'm loving both the outfits you created, with a slight preference for the more colourful first one! xxx
ReplyDeleteYes it's a great way to get more wear from my dresses and make them look different! :)
DeleteI like your knotted tee trick for variety! Both of your outfits are so nicely dressed up with the jewelry you chose. Thanks for the link up and have a good week!

Delete30 ways to wear floral maxi dress here and I've linked it in the one above too - it's a dress that's got a lot of wears! :)
Ya for getting 30 wear on that dress. That is one of my favorite dresses of yours.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.amysfashionblog.com/blog-home
A favourite of mine too, such a staple! :)
DeleteI absolutely love the purse you wore. That colour is gorgeous and compliments so many different outfits! Both looks are just incredible. How exciting that you were to wear the maxi dress 30 times. You truly make the most of each piece in your wardrobe and it inspires me so much.
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Always love your maxis. This time the blue combo caught my eye although that red maxi has been a favorite of mine. I don't have much success knotting my tees. Help!! Could you share how you do it? Do you have one of those little knotting gadgets? Rubber band?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a knotting gadget! I just tie a knot in the excess fabric - almost all my tees are relaxed fits so there's plenty to knot together! :)
DeleteThat is a really cute look on you! I like that your knotting technique give you a cool asymmetric hem on the top. The necklaces definitely ramp up what is a very simple but nice combination that I could definitely see getting worn again and again in different variations.
ReplyDeleteVery cute bag. You always have the best maxi skirts!
ReplyDeleteThanks! They are both maxi dresses :)
DeleteWhen certain types of outfit combinations work, it's so easy and foolproof to just repeat them. It's great that you're up to 30 wears with that first maxi dress. The vibrant color and pattern is really lovely for the warmer months.
ReplyDeleteNice outfits:) thanks for your sharing...
ReplyDeleteOh Mica!! This is so fabulous...both examples. I know this trick but I'm not sure I do it that often. Thanks for the reminder!!
