Blue Tops, Printed Maxi Skirts and Pink Bags

For a couple of busy days before Christmas with the school run and working from home, I wore blue tops and printed maxi skirts with little pink Rebecca Minkoff bags.

What I wore:

Earrings: Avocado Santa hat earrings
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Cami: thrifted no label chambray tie strap cami
Skirt: Ally Fashion blue border print floral maxi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

This was what I wore on my last day at work for the year, back in December. As it was such a warm day I went with this chambray cami and light floral print maxi skirt. I like the slits up the side for catching the breeze on hot days like this was. It was a very busy day trying to wrap everything up for the last working day of the year, but I still had a little time to squeeze in an appointment before school pick up.

I didn't need to carry much so I picked this little pink Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag to carry the essentials. I really liked the redyed pink shade with the pink flowers in the floral print maxi skirt.

Last worn: avocado earrings, chambray cami, wooden necklace, floral maxi skirt, Havaianas, redyed mini MAC bag.

Other ways to wearchambray cami and jeans, floral maxi skirt with purple, redyed mini MAC bag and dress.

What I wore:

Earrings: mini glitter gingerbread earrings
Tee: teal Strange Planet 'wildly unprepared for the day' graphic tee
Skirt: thrifted SES Fashions vertical stripe maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

This was another busy day working from home and trying to fit everything in, although not as busy as the day above as it wasn't my last day at work for the year. I just had less time to work as I had a couple of hours off in the afternoon to see my son perform, before it was off to sports in the evening. When I was getting dressed that morning I knew that my "Wildly unprepared for the day" graphic tee would be the perfect thing to wear. I went with a maxi skirt again, they are so good in the summer weather, and I like this vertical striped one as it has pockets.

I added a pink bag as I was inspired by the pink backpack in the graphic print, although maybe I should have went for a deeper pink one to match a little better. The studded MAB was a good sized bag for carrying everything I needed for the day though, it fits all my essentials plus easily held my camera as well for my son's performance.

Last worn: mini gingerbread earrings, Strange Planet graphic tee, vertical stripe maxi skirt, strappy sandals, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearStrange Planet graphic tee and shorts, vertical stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, strappy sandals and dress, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody bag and jeans.

Layering Summer Pieces In Winter Outfits

I thrifted a few summer pieces at the opshop in July, back before the cold winter weather really hit in Brisbane. I was so eager to wear my new finds that I tried layering them up for winter on working from home days despite the colder temperatures.

What I wore:

JacketWittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacket
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt (new purchase)
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

I love the colour of this maxi skirt! It was new with tags so definitely worth the $7 I paid for the $89.99 RRP! It was marked as 'Sahara Red' but it's the perfect bold mix of red and orange and I'm excited to wear it again when the weather is warmer. I layered it up with a bright cobalt leather jacket for warmth, and then this also thrifted grey tunic tee for a nice neutral. I skipped the scarf as I felt warm enough with the jacket and long maxi skirt. I was working from home, with a little break for the school run and taking the pups to the vet.

Will definitely have to try this skirt with more blue again next time I wear it, I loved how the leather jacket popped against the bright skirt.

Last worn: cobalt leather jacket, grey tunic tee, terrazzo necklace, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag. First time I've worn the maxi skirt as it's a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearcobalt leather jacket worn 30 ways, grey tunic tee and denim, white Converse and jeans, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and blazer.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest navy suede moto zip jacket
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs bright blue stole
Dressthrifted no label blue checked smock sundress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Unlike the outfit above, I didn't enjoy this one as much. It looks nice, just wasn't very practical! This thin sundress needed a slip underneath, as well as fleece lined leggings, tall boots, my suede moto jacket and the big cobalt blanket scarf to make it cosy enough for the morning school run. It was certainly comfortable enough for working from home after too, before the school pick up in the afternoon.

However despite having the slip underneath it kept clinging to the leggings and riding up and I had to keep pulling it down, so frustrating to wear. I know I will enjoy this dress so much more when I can wear it with bare legs when it heats up again. Just not a good piece to try winterising. The much needed suede jacket also covered up the fun statement bell sleeves of the dress, so this will remain a firm warm weather only piece in my wardrobe!

Last worn: navy suede moto jacket, cobalt scarf, tall leather boots, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC. First time I've worn the dress as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearnavy suede moto jacket and printed jeans, cobalt scarf and grey dresstan boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC and maxi skirt.

Grey Tees, Black Jeans, Long Cardigans and Scarves

Two outfits with grey tees and black jeans, one more colourful one and another just as cosy but a lot more neutral dues to the different colour cardigans I layered with.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest waterfall drape cardigan in scarlett marle
Scarf: blue tartan scarf
Tee: grey marle pocket tee
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

After we had spent most of the school holidays at home sick, we were all feeling better so layered up to run a couple of errands. We also stopped by a local exhibition, as well as dropping off some of the things we had cleared out during our time at home to the local opshop. I couldn't resist browsing too, the kids got a new boardgame while I ended up with a bunch of summer pieces for my wardrobe. Very eager for winter to be over!

The grey tee and black jeans were very neutral before I added this bright red waterfall cardigan and the tartan scarf. With the blues in the scarf I thought the little blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag was a good accessory, and I didn't need to carry much, just the essentials.

Last worn: red waterfall cardigan, tartan scarf, grey pocket tee, black zip detail jeans, white converse, blue mini MAC bag.

Other ways to wearred waterfall cardigan and printed jeans, tartan scarf and maxi skirt, grey pocket tee and denim skirt, black zip detail jeans and duster, white converse and dress, blue mini MAC bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancytartan scarf in first trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: Paper Scissors grey wrap cardigan
Scarf: Mickey Mouse printed scarf from Disneyland Paris
Earrings: Piper recycled metal turquoise tassel earring
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim (new purchase)
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

These coated jeans were one of my opshop finds on the day above! I was eager to wear them, I've tried a few coated jeans in the past but not been impressed. I was so pleased these $1 ones from the opshop were winners, they are very comfortable. I wasn't sure at first if they looked too like leggings, so I layered up to cover my butt just in case, with this grey tunic tee (also an opshop find) and my grey waterfall cardigan. With the black and white Adidas Superstar sneakers and the black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag this was a very neutral outfit. I added my Mickey Mouse scarf and the statement earrings for a little extra colour, but not too much as I quite liked all the neutrals together.

This was a great outfit for a day of shopping down the coast with my mum and sister. Mum was very generous so I ended up with quite a few things for me which was fun, even though the intention was to start looking at Christmas presents she let me take everything she bought for me home.

Midi Skirts and Blazers

Dressing up my midi skirts for cooler autumn days and making them look a little more formal for work, just by adding a comfortable jersey blazer. While both these skirts and resulting outfits feel different, I really liked them both!

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper recycled metal turquoise tassel earring
Jacket: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
Necklace: navy and silver circle pendant tassel necklace
Cami: thrifted no label chambray tie strap cami
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

This was a busy but fun day at work - we had a big team lunch to attend, so while it was cooler on the commute I knew we would be enjoying the sun outside at lunchtime at an outdoor restaurant. This outfit was perfect, I didn't feel too cold, although I did end up keeping my blazer on both at lunch and at my desk. I really liked the navy blazer with the green broderie midi skirt, and the lighter blues of the turquoise tassel necklace, chambray cami and sky grey Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.

With the navy blazer and the turquoise tassel earrings, this navy circle and tassel necklace seemed like a fun bit of matchy-matchy, even if the silver hardware was different from the gold on the mini MAC bag, it tied in with the res of my outfit well and I'm never one to shy away from mixing metals!

Last worn: navy blazer, turquoise tassel earrings, navy tassel necklace, chambray cami, broderie midi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Other ways to wearnavy blazer and dress, chambray cami and jeans, broderie midi skirt in festive outfit, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC with orange.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted flat peach statement bead necklace
TankCle The Label Amelia tank in indigo
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

While this outfit didn't feel as coordinated as the one above, I still loved it! I was so pleased to show off to my stylish colleague that both my Stella McCartney Falabella bag and my leopard print skirt were from the opshop when she complimented them. Sadly she was only in Brisbane for a few days and didn't have time to shop, maybe next time she visits!

I'd planned to wear this grey blazer with the fun leopard print skirt and blue tank, but couldn't decide on a necklace that morning. In the end I went with this orange one for a pop of colour. With the neutral navy tank, grey blazer, black Stella McCartney Falabella bag and black Converse, I think an extra pop of colour was needed with this outfit, even though the skirt makes a statement on its own.

Graphic Tees and Skinny Jeans

Keeping it nice and simple back for some warmer days before the winter chill arrived in Brisbane, with graphic tees and skinny jeans.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold heart and pearl earrings
Tee: teal Strange Planet 'wildly unprepared for the day' graphic tee
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

Wore this for the school run, working from home, and a little trip to the groomers for Cooper in the morning. I just needed something easy for a busy day, this Strange Planet graphic tee is so fun to wear and I think the "Wildly unprepared for the day" vibe fit well on this day!

I tucked the tee in a little to better show off the fun zip pocket detail on these jeans. And even though the teal was bright enough with the black denim, I added an extra touch of colour with the little pink Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC too.

Last worn: heart and pearl drop earrings, Strange Planet tee, zip detail skinny jeans, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff pink mini MAC.

Other ways to wearStrange Planet tee and shorts, zip detail skinny jeans and blazer, Rebecca Minkoff pink mini MAC and dress.

What I wore:

Tee: Primark Edinburgh white graphic tee
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus silver and turquoise bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC in aquamarine with python embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Another working from home and school run day, with an appointment for my son in the afternoon. I decided to give this Edinburgh tee another wear - a souvenir I bought when we visited in 2019. Although the graphic print on this tee is a darker blue, I decided to pair it with turquoise accessories, with the bracelet stack and the turquoise Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC. I like turquoise with everything, and I felt the accessories went nicely with the pink frayed hem jeans, just as well as the darker blue print on the tee.

Last worn: Edinburgh graphic tee, silver and turquoise bracelet stack, pink frayed hem jeansleather Converse, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC.

Other ways to wearEdinburgh graphic tee and maxi skirt, pink frayed hem jeans with black, leather Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancyRebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC bag and maternity shorts.

Blue Long Sleeved Dresses With Pink Mini MAC Bag

Making the most of warmer weekends back in Autumn and wearing two pretty blue dresses with a little pink bag for some birthday parties!

What I wore:

EarringsMimco silver stud earrings
Necklace: custom Cooper charm by Silhoupette
DressJaase Celine autumn leaves mini dress
ShoesAtmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun day! We had a family birthday to celebrate, so I wanted to wear this pretty Jaase autumn leaves print dress again. While it was a cooler morning, with the ankle boots and the longer sleeves on the dress I felt fine wearing this and going bare-legged. It was so good to spend time with family!

We also took the opportunity to stop by the shelter we adopted Cooper from to do a meet and greet with a little puppy we'd fallen in love with online. She and Cooper seemed friendly, so this is what I was wearing when we adopted Bonnie. The ankle boots were a good choice and very practical for running around in the meet and greet yard with the dogs.

Last wornMimco earrings, silhouette necklace, tan ankle boots, Jaase dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Other ways to weartan ankle boots and jeans, Jaase dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC and stripes.

What I wore:

EarringsMichael Hill stud earrings with aqua cubic zirconia in sterling silver
Necklace: Colette crescent purple and gold necklace
DressTarget puff sleeve tiered denim dress
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

Another birthday party day, this one was a little cooler so I was grateful for the thicker denim fabric on this tiered dress. It kept me nice and cosy as I caught up with my friends at a bowling party, the kids were very entertained with playing a couple rounds of bowling and then enjoying the arcade before having some delicious cake!

Because the denim fabric on this dress kept me warm and we were indoors for the party anyway, I just went with comfortable Converse sneakers. not as cosy as ankle boots, but perfect for this day.

I added a little more colour with the magenta crescent necklace and again my little redyed pink Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag. I really like this pink bag with different shades of blue!

Last worn: earrings, crescent necklace, tiered denim dress, leather Converse sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff pink mini MAC (above)

Other ways to weartiered denim dress and red, leather Converse sneakers and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff pink mini MAC and jeans.

Pink and Navy Jeans and Tee Outfits

Two more autumn jeans outfits. I feel jeans become a staple as the weather starts to cool off here in Brisbane. Both of these are colourful outfits though, with pink and navy as I really love pink and blue together in any combination of shades.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Kensley summer tie-dye kimono
Necklace: thrifted Belle Folie multi colour tassel necklace
TeeCotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

It's the first time I've worn this navy tie dye duster and this pink v-neck tee together which surprises me. Both of these pieces are firm favourites, so it was nice to finally wear them together! We had a couple of errands to run and some birthday presents to buy, so jeans and a tee was what I reached for.

I wasn't sure about the washed rose pink of the tee with the brighter pink in one of the tassels on the necklace, and the hot pink of my Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC, but I'm glad I wore all these different shades together, I think it worked well in the end. The black jeans and black Converse were good neutrals with the tie dye and those different shades of pink.

Last worn: tie dye duster, tassel necklace, pink tee, zip detail skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Other ways to weartie dye duster and shorts, pink tee over a dress, zip detail skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC and stripes.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

NecklaceRoie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

Another jeans and tee outfit for another weekend day. I had a couple of errands to run again, and dropped my son off at his friend's house for a playdate. I thrifted these pink Zara frayed hem skinny jeans a while back, and they look great with navy! This tee was a great pairing with them.

As in the outfit above, I wasn't too sure at first about having these different shades of pink together with the brighter pink of the jeans and the hot pink of the Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag, and although I didn't love it as much as the outfit above, I'm glad I gave this a go.

Last worn: navy tee, pearl tassel necklace, pink skinny jeans, tan slides, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy tee and skirt, pink skinny jeans and blousetan slides and dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and dress.

Black and White Jeans Outfit For The Office With Pink Crossbody Bag

Still loving and wearing my recently redyed Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag! Using the bag as the perfect pop of pink with both of these black and white jeans outfits I wore to the office.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold heart and pearl earrings
NecklaceTiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
Top: Kmart black batwing button up blouse
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

Little photobomb from our newly adopted puppy Bonnie in these pics! And while I thought I'd be okay with these white skinny jeans because I had a day in the office, I quickly realised I was going to have to retire the white jeans, not the best choice to wear with an over-energetic puppy. She's still learning not to jump up, so although I did manage to wash the jeans clean, I probably won't be wearing them for a while! She was surrendered twice before we adopted her so it's going to take a while to teach her manners, and white jeans are not the best choice for this adjustment period.

I did like the white jeans with the white Converse and the black batwing blouse, just adding the little touch of colour with the mini MAC bag. It was a good office outfit, but not something that was good to be wearing when I got home and she jumped all over me!

Last worn: batwing blouse, Tiffany necklace, white skinny jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag. First time I've worn the gold heart and pearl earrings on the blog as they were a Mother's day present from my boys.

Other ways to wearbatwing blouse and skirt, white skinny jeans and sequinsleather Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag and dress.

Re-Dying My Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Bag:

What I wore:

Earrings: gold heart and pearl earrings
Jacket: thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer
Necklace: thrifted Belle Folie multi colour tassel necklace
TeeAtmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Marc by Marc Jacobs enamel turnlock stripey hinge black and white bangle and Hermes pink clic clac
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

Another black and white jeans outfit for the office. With the plain white tee and faded black skinny jeans, this outfit was a little casual, even with the addition of the statement tassel necklace. The cobalt blazer I recently thrifted was the perfect topper for this on a cooler autumn morning in Brisbane, and to seem a bit more professional in the office. I really enjoyed this outfit, the bright accessories and cobalt blazer made it seem very cheerful.

And of course, black skinny jeans are a much better choice around a little puppy still learning not to jump up! We had hoped our older dog Cooper would teach Bonnie some good manners, but he seems content just to watch her and her craziness. It's so cute when they curl up together though, so glad we adopted them both.

Last worn: gold heart and pearl earrings (above), cobalt blazer, tassel necklace, white tee, zip detail black skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff pink mini MAC (above).

Navy Striped Shirt Dresses And Converse With Redyed Pink Bag

Feeling uninspired for some autumn office outfits, I wore a striped dresses each day, with the same accessories even! Love an easy outfit formula. Also sharing my Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag I recently redyed, it's a fun pop of colour in these outfits.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Belle Folie multi colour tassel necklace
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

A cooler autumn morning and a commute to work had me getting this long sleeved shift dress out of my wardrobe again. It's quite a thick fabric and kept me nicely cosy for the way into work. I added a little more colour to the navy and black stripes with the fun multi coloured tassel necklace, a recent opshop find.

I thought that the navy and black stripes were a great background to let my recently redyed Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag pop. It was a very vivid, bright neon pink before, although also quite worn. I stripped the colour off and then repainted it in Angelus hot pink acrylic leather paint, and I love the finished results!

Last worn: navy stripe shift dress, white leather Converse, redyed Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC. First time I've worn the necklace as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearnavy stripe shift dress and leather jacketleather Converse and skirt.

Perfect for pregnancynavy stripe shift dress in second trimester.

Process of Re-Dying My Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC Bag:

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Belle Folie multi colour tassel necklace
Dress: thrifted Kmart white and navy long sleeve stripe tee dress
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

Another office day, another navy stripe shift dress with Converse, my little pink mini MAC bag, and the same tassel necklace. Just like with the navy and black shift dress above, I felt the white and navy stripes on this dress were a great background for the colourful accessories. This dress was a $1 opshop find too, I've gotten so much wear from it (already this is it's 11th wear). And like the navy shift dress above, it's going to get a lot more wear over autumn and winter!

Last worn: navy and white striped dress, tassel necklace (above), white leather Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff redyed hot pink mini MAC (above).

Other ways to wearnavy and white striped dress and leather jacket, white leather Converse and midi skirt.
