Orange Maxi Skirts, White Tees and Mimco Black Crossbody Bag

Another easy outfit formula repeated twice. Two orange maxi skirt outfits with white tees and my little black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
TeeAtmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Felt like it had been a while since I'd last worn this orange maxi skirt, so got it out again to wear to church. I liked the simple white tee with it, but felt it needed a little more and this statement beaded necklace was perfect. The burgundy and natural wood beads work so well with the ochre maxi skirt and look good against the plain white tee. I added simple sandals as it was a hot day, and my little black Mimco crossbody bag.

Last worn: white v-neck tee, statement beaded necklace, ochre maxi skirt, sandals, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearwhite v-neck tee and denim skirt, ochre maxi skirt and knit, sandals and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and jeans.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
TeeCotton On The One Deep V tee in marle nep white body black
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt
ShoesLes Tropeziennes Par M.Belarbi leopard print and gold leather sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the outfit above so much, I recreated it again following the same outfit formula, with this bright coral maxi skirt. It's a beautiful bright redish-orange in person and I love how colourful it is. It was NWT at the opshop for just $7 too, such a bargain! I wore my textured white tee with it to add a little more detail, but still added a statement necklace on top. This multi strand tassel one is nice and colourful.

Wore another pair of sandals as well. These ones, like the skirt and necklace, were an opshop find too. Good outfit for a day of working from home, doing the school run, and running a couple of errands. I didn't need to carry more than the essentials, so I wore my Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag again.

Last worn: white tee, statement necklace, colourful maxi skirt, leopard print sandals, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag (above).

Other ways to wearwhite tee and shorts, colourful maxi skirt and leather jacket, leopard print sandals and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and blazer.

Pink Tees and Black And White Maxi Skirts With Stella McCartney Falabella Bag

Two very colourful outfits, by wearing pink tees with monochromatic black and white printed maxi skirts.

What I wore:

Necklace: Lovisa silver love knitted heart pendant necklace
TeeJeanswest essential v-neck tee in azalea pink
Skirt: thrifted SES Fashions vertical stripe maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus old neon pink bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun day! Kicking off the school holidays the kids went to a vet convention at a nearby vets - it was designed to give the kids a taste for vet life and they loved it, getting to see the animals, the operating rooms, and even had some doggie patients. I even managed a little browse at the opshop too, dropping off more donations, before the kids saw a movie.

I wore this vertical striped maxi skirt as I felt it hadn't been worn in a while! And I thought the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag and black sandals were good matchy-matchy accessories with it. Even the knotted heart necklace matched the silver hardware on the Falabella bag.

The neon pink bracelets don't match the pink of the tee at all, but I saw them in my wardrobe and thought they would be a fun addition with this. With the chain on the Stella McCartney Falabella bag and the bangles on my wrist, this was quite a noisy outfit whenever I moved! I still liked it though.

Last worn: pink tee, knotted heart necklace, vertical stripe maxi skirt, strappy sandals, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearpink tee and shorts, vertical stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, strappy sandals and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and pencil skirt.

What I wore:

EarringsAna Luisa 'Olivia' tassel earrings in pink
TeeCle The Label Charlotte tee in ombre rose
Skirt: thrifted Kmart black and white boho print maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Kept it really simple here for another kids' birthday party, with the black and white printed maxi skirt and the ombre pink tee. Just like the outfit above, I wore the same black strappy sandals, with the Stella McCartney Falabella bag for a little matchy-matchy. Unlike the outfit above though, I didn't add a necklace to this. I thought the ombre pink of the tee was interesting enough, and just added some statement earrings. I did wonder if I should have worn a necklace with this when I looked at the photos, but it didn't worry me when I was wearing the outfit as just like the outfit above, I enjoyed wearing this. The birthday party was really fun too, the kids always have a great time when the party is at the bowling alley!

Last worn: tassel earrings, ombre tee, black and white maxi skirt, strappy sandals (above), Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wearombre tee and shorts, black and white maxi skirt in monochromatic outfit, strappy sandals and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and dress.

Pre-Loved Printed Pieces & Purple Paraty Bag

I've been opshopping a lot recently and while I've been focusing at picking up more books to read forgot myself and the boys I can never resist a little browse of the rest of the store!

On my last trip I thrifted both of these fun printed pieces, the Paisley print cover up as well as the black and white printed maxi skirt.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted purple and red Paisley print duster (new purchase)
Necklace: double circle hammered pendant necklace
TankJeanswest Jenni basic singlet in Royal Lilac purple
Skirt: JayJays distressed denim mini skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

It was a warmer day so I dressed simply for the school run and working from home, with the singlet and denim mini skirt. I thought with the purple in the Paisley print of this cover up that this purple tank would look great with it, the shades are a pretty close match! I really liked the two pieces together, great first wear of this newly thrifted printed cover up.

I added more purple with the Chloe wine purple Paraty. It's a different shade from the others but I liked it with this outfit and the colours in the print, I thought it worked so well. Added the big gold necklace to match with the statement gold hardware on the small Chloe Paraty bag.

Last worn: purple singlet, double circle pendant necklace, denim mini skirt, leather Converse, Chloe wine purple Paraty bag.

Other ways to wearpurple singlet and shorts, denim mini skirt and florals, leather Converse and dress, Chloe wine purple Paraty bag and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancy: purple singlet in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Skirt: thrifted Kmart black and white boho print maxi skirt (new purchase)
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals (new purchase)
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Another working from home day, minus the school run as it was a pupil free day! I had a couple errands to run in the afternoon after work, but again just wore a simple singlet with the heat. For the first wearing of this black and white printed maxi skirt I thought I'd keep it simple and neutral with the metallic silver tank, and went a little matchy-matchy with the black sandals and the black statement necklace. Both those accessories are opshop finds too!

Did want a little more colour with this outfit when I put it on though so again I wore my small wine purple Chloe Paraty bag. I liked the darker purple against the neutral black white and silver outfit.

Last worn: metallic singlet, black statement necklace, Chloe wine purple Paraty (above). First time I've worn the skirt and the sandals as they are recent opshop finds.

Other ways to wearmetallic singlet and shorts, Chloe wine purple Paraty and dress.

Maxi Skirts, Navy Tees, Denim Jackets and Chloe Paraty Bag

Some spring maxi skirt outfits I wore recently, both with navy tees, denim jackets and blue bags. Both of these skirts were opshop finds.

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: thrifted neutral silicone and wood bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Marcs navy lurex detail foil tee
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe periwinkle small Paraty

Why I wore it:

This cotton maxi skirt was awesome on this hot day! It has pockets too which is always a winner. I wore it with another thrifted piece, this foil tee. I needed the denim jacket in the cooler morning, although when I was running errands later I'd taken it off, as the day warmed up so much!

The boys had a kid's birthday party and I also had a lot of errands to run. I wore the Chloe Paraty bag as I like the light periwinkle blue with both red and navy, and because it has room for all the essentials plus my latest library book for when I was waiting for an appointment between errands.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
Necklace: thrifted bronze foil statement necklace
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Edie regular shoulder bag in Luna blue

Why I wore it:

This orange maxi skirt is on that is frequently worn with blue. I like the navy tee with it, it's the first time I've worn the two together surprisingly. The denim moto jacket is a frequently worn piece with this skirt though, they look so good together.

Just like the day above I didn't need the denim jacket all day though, with the weather warming up nicely as the kids had a sports session.

The Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie bag added another shade of blue to this outfit and also has space for all my essentials plus my latest library book so it was an obvious choice to carry.

Yellow, Black And Leopard Print Outfits With Magenta Bag

Another two winter office outfits I wore recently, both with animal print, black and colourful yellow scarves. I added a little more colour to both outfits with my magenta Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Monica Mac coat in Indigo
ScarfJeanswest Lucille golden yellow scarf
Earrings: neutral clay disc earrings
CamiKmart Anko leopard print cami
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet

Why I wore it:

Was feeling the cold on this winter morning but also really wanted to give this cheetah print cami another wear for something different from a plain tee. Just like leopard print, I find it works well with yellow and I really like this mustard scarf with it.

Also had my grey belted cardigan on underneath the navy trench for a little extra warmth on the commute to work and also because I wanted to keep the spaghetti straps of the cami covered up in the office. Even though you can't really see it in the photos, just that longer hemline at the side peeking out. I was trying to pick a bag to wear and I saw this one I thrifted a while back and decided to give it a go. I liked the fun combination of it with the mustard scarf, I haven't tried yellow with this bag before.

Last worn: navy Macintosh, clay earrings, mustard scarfcheetah print cami, zip detail jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.

Other ways to wearnavy Macintosh and skirt, mustard scarf and dresscheetah print cami and shorts, zip detail jeans and graphic tee, Adidas Superstar sneakers and maxi skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and printed jeans.

What I wore:

JacketWitchery black belted moto leather jacket
Scarf: Love Quotes knotted tassel linen scarf in sunshine yellow
Earrings: thrifted Colette gold metal flower stud statement earrings (new purchase)
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the yellow and magenta combination above, I tried it again, with this brighter yellow scarf. This scarf is such a cheerful addition to a winter outfit, although it is sadly so big and cosy that it has completely hidden my top in the photos! I will need to try wearing this outfit again on a warmer day minus the scarf or jacket.

The leather jacket was much needed on a cold and wet day though - I even had leggings on under this leopard print maxi skirt to keep me cosy. Much needed with the side slits on the skirt for a cold day! I added some recently thrifted statement earrings too, even though the yellow scarf is enough of a statement on its own, as I didn't wear the scarf sitting at my desk in the office all day.

Last worn: black leather jacket, yellow scarf, leopard print maxi skirt, white Converse, Marc By Marc Jacobs bag (above). First time I've worn the earrings as they are a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearblack leather jacket and denim dress, yellow scarf and floral dress, leopard print maxi skirt and blazer, white Converse and jeans, Marc By Marc Jacobs bag and sequins.

Perfect for Pregnancy: scarf in second trimester.

Layering Summer Pieces In Winter Outfits

I thrifted a few summer pieces at the opshop in July, back before the cold winter weather really hit in Brisbane. I was so eager to wear my new finds that I tried layering them up for winter on working from home days despite the colder temperatures.

What I wore:

JacketWittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacket
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt (new purchase)
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

I love the colour of this maxi skirt! It was new with tags so definitely worth the $7 I paid for the $89.99 RRP! It was marked as 'Sahara Red' but it's the perfect bold mix of red and orange and I'm excited to wear it again when the weather is warmer. I layered it up with a bright cobalt leather jacket for warmth, and then this also thrifted grey tunic tee for a nice neutral. I skipped the scarf as I felt warm enough with the jacket and long maxi skirt. I was working from home, with a little break for the school run and taking the pups to the vet.

Will definitely have to try this skirt with more blue again next time I wear it, I loved how the leather jacket popped against the bright skirt.

Last worn: cobalt leather jacket, grey tunic tee, terrazzo necklace, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag. First time I've worn the maxi skirt as it's a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearcobalt leather jacket worn 30 ways, grey tunic tee and denim, white Converse and jeans, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and blazer.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest navy suede moto zip jacket
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs bright blue stole
Dressthrifted no label blue checked smock sundress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Unlike the outfit above, I didn't enjoy this one as much. It looks nice, just wasn't very practical! This thin sundress needed a slip underneath, as well as fleece lined leggings, tall boots, my suede moto jacket and the big cobalt blanket scarf to make it cosy enough for the morning school run. It was certainly comfortable enough for working from home after too, before the school pick up in the afternoon.

However despite having the slip underneath it kept clinging to the leggings and riding up and I had to keep pulling it down, so frustrating to wear. I know I will enjoy this dress so much more when I can wear it with bare legs when it heats up again. Just not a good piece to try winterising. The much needed suede jacket also covered up the fun statement bell sleeves of the dress, so this will remain a firm warm weather only piece in my wardrobe!

Last worn: navy suede moto jacket, cobalt scarf, tall leather boots, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC. First time I've worn the dress as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearnavy suede moto jacket and printed jeans, cobalt scarf and grey dresstan boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC and maxi skirt.

Blue Knits, Maxi Skirts and Lilac Polene Numero Neuf Mini Bag

More blue jumpers again! I only have a handful of knitted jumpers as they aren't needed too many days of the year here in Brisbane, but most of them are blue and I've been enjoying wearing them in the colder weather. This time around I've worn them with maxi skirts and scarves, to make the skirts work for colder days.

What I wore:

Scarf: Target Sadie woven scarf in blue spot print
Jumper: thrifted blue Mossman knit jumper
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

This was a very cold morning, so this polyester ribbed knit jumper was the perfect choice for keeping me warm. The maxi skirt is perfectly light for a hot day, but with the jumper and scarf on top it kept me warm enough for an early morning vet appointment for Cooper after the school run, and then working from home before school pick up in the afternoon.

With the blue knit, navy scarf and blue Converse, there was a lot of blue in this outfit, so I wore my little Polene lilac Numero Neuf mini bag for an extra touch of colour. And because as much as I love blue, three shades of blue in an outfit indicated I probable needed to pick a different colour for my bag!

Last worn: polka dot scarf, Mossman knit, black maxi skirt, blue Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag.

Other ways to wearpolka dot scarf and stripes, Mossman knit over a dress, black maxi skirt and denim jacket, blue Converse and pencil skirt, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag and dress.

What I wore:

Scarf: star print pashmina from Melbourne Markets
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

Another blue heavy outfit! Surprisingly I haven't worn this cobalt knit jumper with the navy stripe maxi skirt before! I figured this day was a good day to give the skirt a wear, as although it was a cold winter day and the skirt has a side split I spent most of the day inside, working from home. I only went out in the morning to drop my son off at his friends house and then pick him up again in the afternoon after work.

It was a very cold morning though, and even with this cosy pashmina scarf on top of the jumper I did wish I'd picked a maxi skirt that didn't have a side split, yet almost every winter I try making this maxi skirt warmer for the weather, I really should just leave it aside on colder days!

Last worn: cobalt marl knit, star print pashmina, navy stripe skirt, white Converse, Lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag (above).

Other ways to wearcobalt marl knit over a dress, star print pashmina with greennavy stripe maxi skirt worn 30 ways, white Converse and jeans, Lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag and dress.

Knits and Maxi Skirts

Making some of my maxi skirts work in Brisbane's winter by adding some cosy knitted jumpers on top for colourful winter outfits.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold heart and pearl earrings
Necklace: double circle hammered pendant necklace
Knit: thrifted Forever 21 wine ribbed knit jumper
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

This was a fun weekend day! I thought it might have been a bit too chilly to wear this maxi skirt but with the thick burgundy ribbed knit jumper on top, I felt nice and warm. I've worn the ochre maxi skirt with reds and burgundy shades before, I really like the combination and I loved this darker wine coloured burgundy knit against the orange, especially with the black and gold accessories.

We had a few errands to run in the morning, my son had some birthday gift cards to spend as he had picked what he wanted to use the cards on, so we did that and then took Bonnie to her last puppy training class. She graduated, very proud of her! She was surrendered twice to the shelter before we adopted her so it's awesome to see how much she is learning and growing with us.

Last worn: burgundy knit, heart and pearl earrings, double circle necklace, ochre maxi skirt, black Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearburgundy knit and leopard print, ochre maxi skirt and cami, black Converse and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart pink resin teardrop statement earrings
ScarfAlexander McQueen modal skull scarf in white/pink
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Another warm but colourful outfit! I wasn't sure if the cobalt marle knit and leopard print maxi skirt and pink skull scarf was too busy of an outfit all together, but I did really like the matching pink of the scarf and bag with this so gave it a go. I probably wouldn't wear the scarf and skirt together again, as it's a lot of print, but I'm glad I gave it a try at least.

Again it was a chilly and windy day, this cobalt knit was a great topper over the leopard print maxi skirt and I was warm for the school run, working from home, and then taking the kids out for a quick errand after school pick up.

Maxi Skirts, Pink Tees and Denim Jackets

Layering up my maxi skirts for warm winter weekend days with colourful pink tees and denim jackets.

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: mixed metal hammered pendant necklace
Tee: Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in tulip pink
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Wearing this leopard print maxi skirt once again. I had one on my wishlist for a while, and actually tried on a few and regretted not buying them. So I was so pleased when I stumbled across this in the opshop - I'm definitely getting so much wear from it!

I like leopard and pink together so this super soft pink tee was a great pairing with it, although I did have to add the denim jacket on top to keep warm in the cooler morning. I went a little matchy-matchy with the black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and the black Converse.

It was a stressful start to the day with a trip to the emergency vets with Bonnie who ate something she shouldn't have! But thankfully quickly resolved by the vet and we were still able to head down the coast to my parents place, just a little later than planned. Bonnie was able to rest on the drive as well, and got lots of love and attention with my family to help her recovery. Poor pup!

Last worn: denim jacket, pink modal tee, mixed metal necklace, leopard print maxi skirt, black Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to weardenim jacket worn 30 ways, pink modal tee and jeans, leopard print maxi skirt and blazer, black Converse and shorts, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and blazer.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On girlfriend denim jacket in whitehaven
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
TeeJeanswest essential v-neck tee in azalea pink
Skirt: thrifted pinstripe maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

I hadn't worn this grey pinstripe maxi skirt for a while, and a quiet weekend day with a couple of errands and a science event at the library with the kids seemed like a good day to get it out again. It's such a comfortable stretchy jersey, I always enjoy wearing it!

Just like the outfit above, I added a pink tee, I like pink and grey together. The white denim jacket was a little attempt at matchy-matchy with the white beads on my necklace and white Converse, but this outfit really made me wish I had a black denim jacket. Nothing wrong with the white jacket, just feel a black one would have worked better here.

It was a little chilly that morning so maybe I should have went for a leather jacket instead, or even added a scarf! But we did spend most of the day indoors at the library event and I was nice and warm for that.
