Blazers, Midi Skirts and Mimco Bags

Breaking out the blazers and midi skirts for slightly cooler office days in Brisbane, just before Christmas.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer
Earrings: candy cane hoop
Necklace: rose gold and turquoise beaded necklace
Tee: grey marle pocket tee
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

I love wearing this green broderie midi skirt in December, it feels like it's been on frequent repeat lately! I really liked the bright green with the cobalt blazer, it's such a nice mix of green and blue. Added the neutral grey marle tee with the bold colours, and plain white Converse and black Mimco crossbody bag for more neutrals. I wasn't sure on a necklace for this outfit so I went with the turquoise one as a mix of blue and green, but looking at the photos after I do think the navy beaded necklace I also considered may have been better.

It was a quite relaxed day in the office as we had a colleague's family come visit us for a bit in a gap between meetings which was lovely.

Last worn: cobalt blazer, turquoise beaded necklace, grey marle tee, green broderie skirt, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearcobalt blazer and dress, grey marle tee and mini skirt, green broderie skirt in Christmas outfit, white Converse and denim, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and jeans.

What I wore:

Jacketthrifted Zara black blazer
Earrings: candy cane hoop earrings
Necklace: thrifted blue tone flat bead statement necklace
Tank: Kmart teal tank
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal

Why I wore it:

This was a slightly wetter day, still as cool as the one above though so a blazer was a good layer to add to this outfit. I needed the blazer over the singlet in the office as well to cover up my shoulders in this tank for meetings, but it was appreciated on the cooler morning commute as well.

Just like in the outfit above, I liked the marle top with the midi skirt. This leopard print one is an opshop fave. The blazer is an opshop find also, as is the beaded statement necklace. With the black blazer matching the black Converse, and the black in the leopard print of the skirt, this was a nice matchy-matchy outfit. I'd thought that the teal marle singlet would be a good match with the Mimco cocoon bag, but decided to wear them anyway when I put the bag on and realised it wasn't as close a match with the teal tank as I'd have liked. I still thought they looked good together.

Animal Print and Black Office Outfits With Purple Bags

Two leopard print tops outfits with black, and purple bags for the office. These are two very differently layered outfits for the varied weather in Brisbane back at the start of summer.

What I wore:

Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
Shirt: Anko Kmart button up batwing sleeve leopard print shirt
SkirtJeanswest zip detail ponte pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

I scored this shirt in my sister's wardrobe clear out and I love it! I like the batwing sleeves and it's perfect with this little black skirt for the office. With the black skirt and the black Converse, I added the lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag for a little extra colour.

This outfit was so good for a busy day in the office, but I was not as happy with it on the commute and the school run. The shirt is polyester and it's quite thick so while it was perfect in the office aircon it was really hot outside of it! Maybe something I wear a little less in the warmer months, as I love it too much to let it leave my wardrobe to go in the donation bag just yet. It will come in really useful when the heat in Brisbane finally lets up later in the year.

Last worn: charm necklace, black zip detail skirt, black Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag. First time I've worn the leopard print shirt.

Other ways to wearblack zip detail skirt and blazer, black Converse and dress, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag and jeans.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted purple wooden bead statement necklace
CamiKmart Anko leopard print cami
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga raisin purple 2009 giant silver G21 hardware work bag

Why I wore it:

I need a few more layers on this wetter summer day, it was quite cool after being cloudy and rainy most of the week. The shirt above would have been perfect for this kind of day! Instead I was wearing my cheetah print cami, with my Nobody Denim black skinny jeans and then the grey blazer on top for a little extra warmth and to cover up the spaghetti straps of the singlet in the office. It's not the first time I've worn this blazer and cami together before, I really like the combination.

I felt this outfit needed a little more colour than the outfit above so I went with a darker purple bag, this Balenciaga work bag that I adore. It's huge but very lightweight and easily fits everything I need for a day in the office inside, with lots of room to spare. It doesn't match the lilac necklace at all, but I liked the two different shades of purple with all the neutrals in this outfit.

Last worn: grey blazer, cheetah print cami, lilac necklace, Nobody Denim skinny jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Balenciaga purple work bag.

Other ways to weargrey blazer and skirt, cheetah print cami and maxi skirt, Nobody Denim skinny jeans and leather jacket, Adidas Superstar sneakers and dress, Balenciaga purple work bag and wrap dress.

Pink Kmart Dresses and Teal Mimco Bucket Bag

Trying a colour combination I haven't worn before, with my teal Mimco cocoon bucket bag and some pink Kmart dresses. I ended up liking this pairing so much that I had to repeat it again another day!

What I wore:

Earrings: opal reindeer stud earrings
Necklace: silver twisted chain necklace
Dressthrifted Kmart short sleeve godet skirt linen blend dress in fuchsia
Belt: came with dress
Shoes: Kmart sparkly silver glitter sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal

Why I wore it:

On such a hot day I knew this linen dress would be perfect. It's a firm favourite of mine, especially in the warmer months in Brisbane. And while it sold out in store and I missed out on it, I snapped it up at the opshop for just $1, so I am always happy when people compliment it and I get to share the bargain find!

With the teal bag against the bright fuchsia pink dress I kept the rest of the accessories neutral and silver - although they still make a statement with the long twist chain necklace and the very fun silver glitter sneakers, which I haven't worn for a while but have been reaching for more lately.

Nice easy outfit for the school run, a day in the office, and then attending an awards ceremony for the kids in the afternoon.

Last worn: opal earrings, silver twist chain necklace, fuchsia pink linen dress, glitter sneakers, Mimco teal cocoon bucket bag.

Other ways to wearfuchsia pink linen dress and blazer, glitter sneakers and shorts, Mimco teal cocoon bucket bag and navy dress.

What I wore:

Necklace: Colette tortoise shell acrylic disc tassel necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal

Why I wore it:

Another office day, another reason to try the pink and teal combination. I think trying a new colour combination with accessories like a bag is a great idea, because most of the time in the office the bag just sits on my desk, so if I don't like it as much I don't have to wear it all day. But I really did like this unexpected combination.

I added a little more interest with the tortoise shell print tassel necklace, but kept the rest of my outfit simple just like in the outfit above, with another pair of sneakers. So comfortable for the commute, and running around between different meeting rooms on different floors of the office.

This Kmart fuchsia tiered midi dress is also one of my favourites, although as a full price buy it's not quite the bargain the dress above was. I'm getting the cost per wear down on it though, always surprised I haven't hit 30 wears with it yet as I feel I reach for it a lot, it works for both office days and casual days.

Last worn: tassel necklace, fuchsia pink tiered dress, Adidas Superstar sneakers, teal Mimco cocoon bucket bag (above).

Other ways to wearfuchsia pink tiered dress and denim jacket, Adidas Superstar sneakers and jeans, teal Mimco cocoon bucket bag and skirt.

Red Midi Dresses For The Office Before Christmas

Wore some Kmart red midi dresses for the last couple of days at work before the Christmas break. Nice and festive, but not too over the top.

What I wore:

Earrings: glitter gingerbread earrings
Necklacevintage gold initial necklace
DressKmart red flora printed wrap dress
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus advent calendar charm bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag

Why I wore it:

In my last week at the office before Christmas, my team had a Christmas lunch catch up. I knew I wanted to bring the festive vibes, but not look too out of place for the majority of the day in the office. I thought this coral red Kmart wrap dress was the perfect piece to wear. I've worn it lots of times outside of Christmas, and worn it for Christmas celebrations too, it's a good all-rounder dress.

I knew I'd nailed the outfit for the day when the lady I sat next to at lunch was also wearing gingerbread man earrings!

I liked the little red bag with this too, although not the same shade of coral as the dress I liked the reds together.

Last worn: gingerbread earrings, gold initial necklace, coral print wrap dress, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery bag.

Other ways to wearcoral print wrap dress and turquoise, Converse and skirtRebecca Minkoff micro Avery crossbody worn 30 ways.

What I wore:

Earrings: glitter Santa hat stud earrings
Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
DressKmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
Shoes: Kmart sparkly silver glitter sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Another coral red dress for another day in the office. This was a hectic one, my last day at the office before the Christmas break so I was rushing trying to get everything done. But with the coral red dress and the burgundy necklace, and little glittery Santa hat stud earrings, I felt a little festive. Especially when I decided to wear my silver glitter sneakers. I thought the silver chain on the Stella McCartney Falabella bag matched with the shoes nicely.

I am surprised I haven't worn this burgundy beaded statement necklace with this coral red dress before. I liked the extra touch of red against the dress, even though it's a different shade, and I felt it made the outfit a little less casual for all my meetings as well.

Last worn: burgundy beaded necklace, coral tiered midi dress, silver glitter sneakers, Stella McCartney Falabella bag. First time I've worn the earrings.

Other ways to wear: coral tiered midi dress and tote, silver glitter sneakers and shorts, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and jeans.

Printed Dresses, Bright Blazers and Mimco Teal Cocoon Bucket Bag

Wearing two pretty floral print dresses that I tried to make a little more formal for office days by adding bright blazers on top.

What I wore:

Jacket: Glassons orange jersey blazer
Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
DressJaase Celine autumn leaves mini dress
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagMimco vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal

Why I wore it:

I've worn this Jaase Celine dress into the office before. It's my go-to dress for special events, but I think with a blazer it looks a little more formal for a day at work. We had a lunch event on so I ended up taking the blazer off, the long sleeves on this dress kept me warm enough.

I really liked the orange blazer with the autumn leaves print on the dress, it was a great combination. I added the teal Mimco cocoon bucket bag as I've been loving wearing it lately, even though it doesn't match any of the colours in this print I liked the teal with the orange blazer and navy dress. The orange blazer just pops with everything I've worn it with.

Last worn: Tiffany necklace, orange blazer, Jaase Celine autumn leaves dress, white Converse, Mimco cocoon bucket bag.

Other ways to wearorange blazer and jeans, Jaase Celine autumn leaves dress and leather jacket, white Converse and skirt, Mimco cocoon bucket bag with pink.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer
Earrings: gold Christmas present bow hoops
NecklaceSilhoupette gold plated Shih Tzu necklace
Dress: Boho Luxe floral print maxi dress (from my sister's wardrobe)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagMimco vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal

Why I wore it:

My sister recently brought over a bunch of pieces she didn't want any more, and when I saw this dress I knew I had to have it! I always love a maxi dress. Wore it for another wet but humid day, again as I did with the dress above by adding the blazer to make it a little more office appropriate.

There were a few of us in the office on this day and we smiled when we realised most of us were wearing maxi dresses - I love unexpected coordinating like that! It was a day full of meetings so I kept the blazer on as we rushed between meeting rooms, but at least I was colourful and comfortable. The teal Mimco bag was a good match to the blues and turquoises in the print of the dress too I thought.

Last worn: gold silhouette necklace, cobalt blazer, blue Converse, Mimco cocoon bag (above). First time I've worn this dress as it's from my sister's wardrobe, and first time I've worn the earrings as they were a gift last Christmas.

Other ways to wearcobalt blazer and jeans, blue Converse and shorts, Mimco cocoon bag and skirt.

Green and Blue Tee and Midi Skirt Outfits With Mimco Teal Bag

Wearing some midi skirts into the office with blue tees and my little teal Mimco cocoon bucket bag. I like the teal bag with these green and blue outfits, despite the different shades in both.

What I wore:

Earrings: Avocado Santa hat earrings
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
TeeCotton On The One fitted v tee in washed poolside blue
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus jade bracelet
BagMimco vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal

Why I wore it:

This pale blue tee feels a littler more casual than a darker navy one, so I did consider adding a blazer to this. Despite the overcast start to the day it was still very humid though, so I decided not to add the extra layer. It was a quiet day in the office anyway.

I did like the paler blue tee against the bright green of the broderie skirt though. I often wear this skirt with blue tones. The blue Converse were a good match with the tee as well, although not exactly the same shade, they are very similar. I added a little more green with the jade bracelet as well. Wore a neutral navy statement necklace to try dress this up slightly for the office, and then my Mimco cocoon bucket bag that's been a real staple lately.

Last worn: pastel blue tee, navy beaded necklace, green broderie midi skirt, blue Converse, Mimco teal cocoon bucket bag. First time I've worn the earrings as they were a gift.

Other ways to wearpastel blue tee and shorts, green broderie midi skirt and Christmas tee, blue Converse and dress, Mimco teal cocoon bucket bag and pencil skirt.

What I wore:

Earrings: DIY green clay Christmas tree earrings
NecklaceStarfish Project Hannah turquoise bead necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Sophie navy v-neck tee
Skirt: thrifted &Me blue linen button up midi skirt with pockets
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMimco vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal

Why I wore it:

Again with the green and a lighter blue! This time around I wore this blue linen midi skirt, with a navy v-neck tee and my green beaded statement necklace for an extra pop of colour. I love wearing this green necklace with navy pieces in my wardrobe, I like the combination. And I really liked this linen midi skirt too. It does get creased up terribly easily, but it is also so light and perfect for a humid spring day. I like that it's also long enough to keep my legs covered up from the freezing aircon in the office.

Just like the midi skirt and tee outfit above, I wore my teal Mimco cocoon bucket bag with this outfit. I've been wearing it with almost everything lately, but I think the dark teal looks so good with blue.

Last worn: Christmas tree earrings, navy tee, green beaded necklace, linen midi skirt, white Converse, Mimco cocoon bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy tee and jeans, linen midi skirt and printed tank, white Converse and dress, Mimco cocoon bag and blazer.

Navy Tees, Grey Pencil Skirts and Teal Bucket Bag

Wearing my new-to-me Mimco cocoon bucket bag in both these outfits. I scored it pre-loved on ebay as a treat for myself to celebrate something at work. I used to have a couple of these bags a long time ago and always missed having one in my wardrobe, so I am really enjoying having the style again! You will see it pop up a lot on the blog. The teal is a really nice shade that pairs so nicely with navy and grey, as I've worn it in both of these outfits.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Nadine 3/4 sleeve dusky pink blazer
Necklace: Kmart pink multi-colour beaded necklace
Tee: thrifted Marcs navy lurex detail foil tee
SkirtAtmos&Here grey marle jersey pencil skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mimco vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal (new purchase)

Why I wore it:

Even with the foil sparkle thread through this tee, the navy felt a little plain with the grey jersey pencil skirt, so I decided to dress this outfit up a bit and add more colour with the blush blazer. The blush pink is something I really like wearing with navy. I added the wooden beaded necklace for a little matchy-matchy. I wasn't sure about the teal Mimco cocoon bag against the pink but I really liked this combination, blush pink goes with so much.

This was a nice comfortable outfit for a quiet day in the office.

Last worn: blush blazer, pink wooden necklace, navy tee, grey jersey pencil skirt, white Converse. First time I've worn the bag as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearblush blazer and dress, navy tee and maxi skirt, grey jersey pencil skirt and printed tank, white Converse and jeans

Perfect for pregnancy: blush blazer in third trimestergrey jersey pencil skirt in third trimester.

Mimco Cocoon Bucket Bag Unboxing

What I wore:

Necklace: Kelly's Kloset rainbow layered necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Ruby frill sleeve Ric Rac detailed tee in deep iris
Skirt: Target textured silver pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagMimco vintage cocoon bucket bag in teal (new purchase)

Why I wore it:

This was a much more humid spring day, and with the statement necklace adding some colour to the navy tee and the textured pencil skirt looking a little more formal than the casual jersey one above, I skipped adding a blazer to this in the office. It also let me show off the cute frill detail on the sleeves of this tee.

Again I wore the teal Mimco cocoon bag, as in the outfit above I like it against navy and grey, and I felt it was a good accessory. Added the blue Converse for yet another shade of blue and because they are the best shoes for the commute to work and running up and down the stairs at the office between meeting rooms on different levels.

Last worn: navy frill sleeve tee, colourful beaded necklace, textured grey pencil skirt, blue Converse, Mimco teal cocoon bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy frill sleeve tee and jeans, textured grey pencil skirt with green, blue Converse and dress.

Black Dresses, Sneakers and Violet Marc By Marc Jacobs Bag

Two little black dresses for work, both worn with my thrifted Marc By Marc Jacobs violet convertible clutch bag that I added an additional silver crossbody strap to.

What I wore:

Earrings: Colette silver filigree leaf diamante statement earrings
Dress: Jeanswest tucked ponte black dress
Shoes: Kmart sparkly silver glitter sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet

Why I wore it:

Went with all the silver for this outfit! This little black fit and flare dress is one I haven't worn in a while, so it was overdue a wear. As were the silver glitter sneakers, that I snapped up at a bargain price at Kmart and haven't worn an awful lot. It was good to get them out again. With the silver statement earrings and the silver glitter shoes against the little black dress I needed a bit more colour, so I wore my Marc by Marc Jacobs opshop find.

Nice simple outfit for a busy day at work, although we did have a very fun team lunch event in between all the meetings I had.

Last worn: silver earrings, black fit and flare dress, silver glitter sneakers, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch.

Other ways to wearblack fit and flare dress and blazer, silver glitter sneakers and maxi skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs convertible clutch and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancyblack fit and flare dress in second trimester.

Marc By Marc Jacobs Thrift Find

What I wore:

Earrings: thrifted Colette gold metal flower stud statement earrings
Necklacevintage gold initial necklace
Dress: Kmart long sleeve black tie neck dress in floral wisteria print
Belt: came with dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr Q Convertible clutch in electric violet

Why I wore it:

We had another event at work, so to not look too overdressed or underdressed I picked another black dress from my wardrobe to wear. This black floral print Kmart one is one I often wear, I really like it for the office and worn casually too. Unlike the outfit above where I went a little matchy-matchy with the silver accessories and silver hardware on the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, this time around I wore gold accessories. My big statement gold earrings were an opshop find, and the little golden initial necklace is a vintage piece from my wardrobe. The blue converse are a good match with the blue in the print of the dress too.

The violet Marc By Marc Jacobs bag doesn't match the pink in the floral print of the dress exactly, but I like the different colours together.

Last worn: gold statement earrings, vintage letter m initial necklace, black floral midi dress, blue Converse, Marc by marc Jacobs convertible clutch (above).

Navy Striped Dresses And Stella McCartney Falabella Bag

Two navy striped dress outfits for quiet office days in spring. Wearing my thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella bag with both dresses.

What I wore:

NecklaceStarfish Project Hannah turquoise bead necklace
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus jade beads
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Surprisingly, I realised I hadn't worn this green necklace with the navy striped shift dress before when I looked through my blog archives. I love wearing the green beads with navy so that seemed like a bit of an oversight! I was glad to wear the two together, and added a little more green with the beaded bracelets too.

Kept to black with the rest of the accessories, with the Adidas Superstar sneakers and Stella McCartney Falabella bag, so that the green beaded necklace was the main statement in my outfit. This dress is so comfortable for a quiet desk centric day at the office, with a couple of errands after picking up the kids from school in the afternoon.

Last worn: green beaded necklace, navy striped shift dress, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearnavy striped shift dress and leather jacket, Adidas Superstar sneakers and jeans, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancynavy striped shift dress in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: red multi strand beaded statement necklace
Dress: thrifted Kmart white and navy long sleeve stripe tee dress
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the outfit formula above, I once again repeated it for another office day. This navy and white striped shift dress was a bargain $1 opshop find that I really enjoy wearing in cooler weather. The long sleeves and thicker fabric mean it doesn't get worn much over summer. It was perfect for this spring day though. With the white stripes in the dress I wore my white Converse for a bit of matchy-matchy, and again my Stella McCartney Falabella bag. It really goes with everything.

I added some contrasting colour like I did in the first outfit with another beaded necklace, this one a shorter red one but it still makes a nice statement against the navy striped dress.

Last worn: red beaded necklace, navy and white striped dress, white Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy and white striped dress and leather jacket, white Converse and skirt, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and jeans.
