Black And Leopard Maxi Skirt And Blazer Outfits

Sticking again to an easy repeatable outfit formula with leopard print, camis, ruffle hem skirts and blazers for some casual office wear. Both outfits accessorised with my little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag.

Why I wore it:

My sister gave me this pretty black cross back cami from a wardrobe clear-out she had just before Christmas. I have the same one in orange, so of course I was happy to take this black version off her hands! With the cross over straps on the back and the spaghetti straps I definitely needed to cover this up in the office so I added this comfortable jersey blazer. This leopard print maxi was an opshop find and I've been wearing it fairly often since I thrifted it. It fits in perfectly with the very casual business casual outfits around the office lately, especially with the blazer to dress it up.

With the little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag I added a touch more gold and purple with this marble necklace which I thought was a good pop against all the black.

Why I wore it:

A very similar outfit to the one above, this time around with a grey blazer and a leopard print cami and black maxi skirt. This skirt felt like it was overdue another wear, and being a very similar shape to the leopard print one I wore above I figured I'd give it a try with a blazer for the office too. I really liked this outfit! The leopard print cami is a fun one and I just added a neutral navy necklace to let the cami and the lilac bag be the focus points of my outfit.

Denim Skirts, Converse and Blazers With Blue 5-Zip Bag

Taking advantage of two quiet days in the office on each side of a long weekend to wear some denim skirts. These outfits would have been good causal Friday outfits back in the day, but every day in the office is even more casual than casual Friday now!

I did dress these simple tank and denim skirts outfits a little with blazers to look a little more professional, but there weren't a lot of people in the office before or after the long weekend that I had to worry about looking professional for.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I've worn this olive embroidered tank with white in the past, it's such a nice combination of neutrals. I added the white Converse too for a little matchy-matchy, and then the navy blazer as I like navy and olive together. The blue Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag seemed an obvious addition once I picked out the navy blazer. It was far too hot to wear the blazer for the commute, but with just a denim skirt and a tank in the office aircon, I appreciated the blazer very much when I was sitting at my desk!

Didn't wear a necklace with this as the tassels and the embroidered neckline on the tank added enough detail I felt. I did consider wearing some statement earrings too, but I was in a rush that morning and hadn't picked a pair to wear so skipped adding them.

Why I wore it:

Another simple tank and denim skirt outfit. This time I went matchy-matchy with the black denim skirt, black Converse, and a black blazer to balance out the mix of colours in the print of the tank. With the navy fern print, again the Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag was a good choice, with the shades of blue not exactly matching, but close enough that I liked the tank and bag together.

The coral necklace was a different shade from the red in the print, as is the bright blue daisy earrings, but with all the black I felt the outfit needed a little extra brightness.

It was another day I shed the blazer as soon as I took these blog photos - such a humid summer day! It was nice to spend the day in the aircon at the office, blazer firmly back on.

Office Outfits: Textured Pencil Skirts And Black Tops

With the summer holidays ending, it's back to the office for me. Still sticking with my mix of working from home some days and working in the office on others. Kept things easy for the return to work life with black tops and textured pencil skirts. And added a little colour with my Polene numero neuf mini bag.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I love this twisted metal necklace against the v-neckline of this linen blend tank. I wasn't sure it would look so good when I added the bag, which has gold hardware, with the silver necklace making such a statement. But I think they were enough of a distance away in my outfit that they worked.

And the lilac bag works well with the pastel pink of this textured polka dot pencil skirt. I've had it for years and I'm always surprised I haven't yet hit 30 wears with it!

Added comfortable Converse for the commute and I did consider a blazer with this, but it was much too hot to want to add the additional layer.

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit! Both the top and the skirt are pieces mum picked up for me on our opshopping day before Christmas. The texture on the skirt is such a nice detail to differentiate it from my other grey pencil skirts, and it's very cosy in the cool aircon at work. I wasn't sure the shape of the outfit would work with the batwing blouse over the pencil skirt but I'm pleased I gave it a go. It was so comfortable and it got a few compliments in the office!

Added some layered Tiffany necklaces for a little detail near the neckline and again my little lilac Polene bag. With the black and grey outfit, some colour was definitely needed, and as I was working near the colleague who had let me try on her numero neuf mini before making the decision to get it, I was excited to show her what one I'd picked for Christmas!

Again went with practical sneakers - the Adidas Superstar sneakers are good for a rainy commute.

Navy Tee And Leopard Print Skirt Office Outfits

I have been loving leopard lately, and so I got my leopard print skirts out again for some summer office days. Both of these leopard skirts I paired with navy tees, comfortable Converse and my Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote bag.

Why I wore it:

I decided to wear this navy frill sleeve tee with the leopard print skirt, the navy is a great neutral against the print and surprisingly I hadn't worn navy with this skirt yet. And to showcase the pretty frill sleeve detail on the tee, I didn't add a blazer. Without a blazer, I did try dress this up a little more for the office with the big statement necklace. This gold multi-strand necklace was an opshop find, just like the skirt.

Comfortable Converse for the commute and walking around the office, and my big Louis Vuitton neverfull tote for carrying a few extra things along with my essentials for work. As it was back in December that I wore this, I did a little Christmas shopping in my lunch break!

Why I wore it:

Unlike the outfit above, I decided to add a blazer with this. I felt that even with the big statement necklace, this shorter leopard print skirt and navy tee was a little too casual for the day I had ahead of me in the office, so it needed the blush blazer. I really like blue and pink together and this blush pink works well with the navy tee and the turquoise multi-strand necklace.

I'm always a little sad the cute lurex detail thread on this tee never shows up in photos - it makes it feel so special when you see it in person! Again I went with Converse, blue ones this time to coordinate with the beaded necklace. And while I didn't need to carry too many extra things with me on this day I wore my Louis Vuitton Neverfull again as it's a good office bag!

Red and Green Christmas Outfits

A final two festive Christmas outfits to share. While both of these are quite different they both feature red and green that I picked to try and make my outfits a little festive for December, which is when I wore them. My previous post has what I wore for Christmas day.

Why I wore it:

I knew this Kmart broderie anglaise midi skirt would be perfect for the White Christmas night at the MovieWorld theme park when I spotted it, so it was good mum got me this for Christmas and I was able to wear it a little early. It works so well with the festive reindeer tee mum made me a few years back, and was cool and comfortable for a humid evening at the theme park. We had a lot of fun, enjoying the 'snow' falling, going on the rides, and watching the 4D Polar Express Movie before finishing the night with the parade and ice cream. We were able to stay at my parents after so it wasn't such a long drive home as well which was appreciated.

While I knew this would be great for the event I also ran a few errands in it in the morning, it didn't seem to costume-y for that. I really liked the little red bag against the green of the midi skirt, especially with the little green and red bracelets.

The studded sandals were a good neutral and nice and practical for both errand running in the morning and walking around the theme park in the evening.

This was another red and green outfit, although not as obviously festive as the one above. I had to go into the office, so I got this pretty coral wrap dress out again. It's so cute with the white Converse and such a good option for work. I added the gold bauble earrings and the little green bag to make this slightly more Christmassy.

After work I took some Christmas photos with the kids around Brisbane - there were a bunch of Christmas decorations set up around Queen Street and with the boys in their Christmas tees and me in my little red dress we were suitably attired for some family pics.

Tiered Midi Dresses, Blue Converse and Rebeca Minkoff Edie Shoulder Bag

Before the Christmas break, I wore these two pretty tiered midi dresses with some blue accessories for days in the office. Despite the very different colours of both dresses, they are accessorised with the same blue Converse and Luna Blue Rebecca Minkoff Edie bag, as the shades of blue work so well with both pink and orange.

I really like wearing this pink dress with blue accessories! Both the slate blue of the Rebecca Minkoff Edie shoulder bag and the lighter blue of the Converse work really well with the bright fuchsia pink of the midi dress. It's one of my favourites!

I added the silver and turquoise bracelet stack for another little touch of blue with this, and then the silver circle necklace as it matches so nicely with the silver hardware on the Edie shoulder bag.

Another Kmart tiered midi dress! This was the first one I got, that kick started my collection 😅 Just like the bold fuchsia pink above, the amber orange of this midi dress works so well with blue. So much so that I wore the exact bag and shoe combination with this dress as well! Despite being different shades of blue, the converse and the Luna blue Edie bag are lovely together.

Just like in the first outfit, I added a little extra blue with this gold and blue statement necklace. Nice easy outfit for another day in the office.

Wore both of these outfits back in December before finishing up work for the Christmas holidays. Both are simple tee and midi skirt outfits, with a bit of red and green for some December festivity.

Why I wore it:

Red and leopard together is always a winner! I liked this coral tee with the green accessories too, with both the beaded necklace and the little green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag, it was perfectly festive for Christmas without feeling like too much. It was pretty quiet in the office, with lots of leave starting already, so this was nice and comfortable for a day at my desk. This midi skirt has become a frequent go-to for me for work after I thrifted it back in October. Pre-pandemic I would have thought it a little too casual for the office, but my already business casual office culture has become even more relaxed since we started popping back into the office again.

Did think of trying to dress this up a little with ballet flats rather than Converse, but again went for comfort with the Converse.

Why I wore it:

This was my last day in the office and last day at work for the year before starting my summer break so I just had to wear this pretty broderie anglaise midi skirt. Mum got it for me for Christmas on our annual pre-Christmas shopping trip but I wanted to start wearing it early - I knew it would be great for this last day at work for the year, and I wore it to the White Christmas night at Movieworld too. I'm excited to wear this outside of December and make it work year-round, but for this outfit I leaned into it and added some red accessories to make it more festive.

While the little red studded saddle bag and the red multi strand statement necklace and red bracelet stack are different shades of red, I think they worked well together and of course the black tee goes with everything. I did add a little extra matchy-matchy by wearing my black converse with this too.

To make things even more festive, I walked around the office in a Santa hat as well!

Floral Print Dresses and Burgundy Crossbody Bag | Weekday wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, two floral dresses for the office, both accessorised with my little burgundy Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag.

Why I wore it:

This was a warm spring day so I appreciated the swing style of this dress, it's great in the heat! It also however developed another split along the seams after wearing it all day. I have lost count of how many times I have had to repair this dress! It's leaving my wardrobe now, I am done constantly repairing the stitching. I have lost count of how many times I've patched or restitched it. This is it's 18th wear. I was really trying to reach 30 wears with it to prove you could do that even with a fast fashion brand like Shein, but the quality isn't there. Even though I got this dress back in 2018, so I'd expect it to be a little higher quality than anything available from that brand at the moment.

Annoying failure of stitching side, I did like this outfit. The burgundy Avery crossbody bag is so nice with the red print on the dress, and I liked the way the neutral earrings and necklace looked together. Just can't keep repairing this dress over and over, it's definitely done.

Why I wore it:

This dress is only on it's 14th wear, but it's definitely going much stronger than the Shein dress above, as I haven't had to repair it at all yet. It was also only $12 at Kmart, so not exactly top of the range quality, ha! Kmart certainly isn't a trailblazer at paying a living wage to it's garment workers, but the company has been improving slightly to make some progress towards being more ethical (rating of 57 on ethical fashion guide). Shein on the other hand, doesn't even have a promise to work towards paying anyone in the supply chain a living wage. (Rating of 4/100)

I picked this dress to wear to work as it was another cool and rainy day. I added the boots too to be extra warm, although I regretted the decision in the afternoon. I left the office early to go see my sons get some awards at school, at which point the rain had stopped and the humidity was creeping up. I'd wished I hadn't worn the boots, as much as I'd loved them in the morning!

Tried something a little different with the burgundy bag with the teal floral dress. I've worn red bags with this dress before, so I knew I'd like these two colours together too.

White Denim and Blazers In The Office | Weekday Wear Link Up

Dressing up some casual white denim, Converse and tee outfits for the office with blazers. The perfect topper to make any outfit feel more pulled together for work.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Zara black blazer
Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Target crew neck tee washed coral red
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

I like red and black together and I think the muted coral red of this tee works really well with the black jersey blazer and the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag. The black beaded statement necklace made it a little more matchy-matchy too, as did the white Converse with the white skinny jeans.


Last worn: black blazer, black beaded statement necklace, coral tee, white skinny jeans, white Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wear: black blazer and skirt, coral tee and leopard print, white skinny jeans and sequins, white Converse and pencil skirt, Stella McCartney Falabella bag with black tee.

Perfect for pregnancy: jersey blazer in third trimester, Converse in second trimester.

Why I wore it:

Another day for white denim in the office, this time my white denim skirt. Paired with this cute thrifted tee, which is navy with some sparkle thread running through it. Sadly the sparkle never translates well in photos!

Again I went a little matchy-matchy, wearing black Converse with the black Stella McCartney bag. The blush necklace and the blush blazer are another good bit of matchy-matchy too.

I really liked the colours in this outfit together, but even the light fabric of this blazer was a bit much when the day warmed up, one of those Brisbane spring days that felt like a summer heatwave.

Last worn: blush blazer, wooden necklace, navy tee, white denim skirt, black Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag (above).
