Kmart Linen Shorts, Navy Tees and Printed Cover Ups

Pulled out my linen shorts for spring weekend days. Both these outfits feature the Kmart linen blend shorts I was lucky enough to stumble across in the opshop in two different colours, as well as different shades of blue and pink.

Why I wore it:

Blue, pink and purple is a trio I love to wear and I liked the different shades of it in this outfit, with the fuchsia shorts, navy tee and the navy and purple printed cover up with the plum purple mini MAB tote bag.

I picked this to wear for a warm yet windy day at the beachfront with my friend. We hadn't caught up in a while so it was good to take advantage of the weather and let the kids play in the water. The wading pool is nice shallow water and the boys spent most of their time there so I wore the shorts as I could stand in the pool with them if needed. And I like this navy tee with pink. The purple printed cover up was a must have for some extra sun protection, and then I added more purple with the plum mini MAB tote bag. While I had the big beach bag with towels, water bottles and beach toys, the mini MAB let me keep my phone and essentials close by as I wasn't swimming.

Why I wore it:

Another navy tee and linen shorts outfit, with this turquoise pair. I still added some pink to this outfit with the fun tropical palm print cover up. Once again I wore it for a little extra sun protection, as we had a picnic down the coast with family. It was another really nice warm day so the kids had a blast playing in the water as I sat around enjoying the good food and conversation while keeping an eye on them.

As I didn't need to carry much and I had all the bright colours in my outfit with the pink and turquoise already, I kept the bag simple and wore my little black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

30 Ways to Wear: Atmos&Here Navy Marle Scoop Neck Tee | Magnificent 8 Restyled

This quarter's magnificent 8 post theme is "restyled" where we will each be rewearing a piece we've worn for previous Magnificent 8 collaborative posts. As I was due to share another 30 wears post, I was pleased to see that this Atmos&Here navy marl scoop neck tee is something I've exceeded 30 wears with, and wore in a previous Magnificent 8 post as well.

Cost Per Wear

As I've worn this tee 33 times, I was expecting a good cost per wear for it. I actually got it on sale, with an extra coupon code discount, back in June 2016. It was just $8.74, so for 33 wears, that works out at 29 cents a wear, great value indeed. I've also exceeded 30 wears on the chambray maxi skirt I bought in the same sale order, so I've gotten a lot of value from that sale order.

This navy tee has been in my wardrobe for 8 years, so I'm surprised it's not hit 30 wears sooner! It's a great basic tee, and as it's got a slightly curved cropped hem (although it's just normal length on my petite self) it looks great worn over dresses, as well as with the navy tee staples of denim, shorts and skirts. It still looks new, so I've got a lot more wear to get from it! Here are 30 of my favourite ways I've worn it so far. 

Navy Tee and Pink Outfits

Blue and pink is one of those combinations I'll always wear! And as you can see in these 5 outfits, with the neutral navy marle tee, all different shades of pink work well with it. From the neon pink bag, to leopard print jeans, pastel pink jeans or even the magenta jeans on the top right.

Orange and Navy Tee Outfits

Surprisingly I haven't worn as much orange with this tee as I thought I would have - I feel orange really pops when you wear it with navy! I like it with the orange shorts and skirt, but a smaller piece of orange like that little peach bag in the first outfit is a great accessory with navy too.

Navy Tee and Green

"Blue and green should never be seen" is one of those silly rules I used to follow, but since I've been wearing green more often I've realised how nicely green and blue compliment each other. All different shades of green, like the olive shorts, emerald green duster, or moss coloured jeans, look great next to the navy tee. 

Shorts Outfits With A Navy Tee

Shorts and a tee is a summer staple! I might throw a cover up on top for a little extra print and colour, or even just some sun coverage. But as you can see in the majority of these shorts outfits, a simple pair of shorts and a navy tee is a nice easy outfit on its own.

Navy Tee and Black

I tend to wear this navy tee a lot with black in the cooler weather - something about winter has me reaching for all the neutrals, and black jeans, or black blazers or knits, are a nice addition to a neutral navy tee. Sometimes as you can see in the first 3 outfits, I add a bit of colour with an accessory, but as in that last outfit, it's nice to just have a neutral filled outfit with the navy tee sometimes too.

Navy Tee and Purple

Blue and purple is another colour duo I frequently wear! Just as with the other colour combinations I've shared in this post, I think different shades of purple are great with this navy tee. The little plum purple Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB bag in the first and last outfits there is a favourite accessory with this navy tee, but the deeper purple bag and jeans in the middle there look good too!

Skirts and Dress Outfits With Navy Tee

As you read above, this tee is such a good layering piece. In that outfit photo in the middle there I've layered it over a maxi dress. The other outfits in this set of 5 are simple skirt outfits, but in the outfit photos earlier in the post I've shared the tee over a dress again as well. I love the look of the tee over a maxi skirt or a maxi dress, and being navy, as you've seen from all the photos in this post, it works with so many different prints and colours.

Maxi Skirts, Navy Tees, Denim Jackets and Chloe Paraty Bag

Some spring maxi skirt outfits I wore recently, both with navy tees, denim jackets and blue bags. Both of these skirts were opshop finds.

Why I wore it:

This cotton maxi skirt was awesome on this hot day! It has pockets too which is always a winner. I wore it with another thrifted piece, this foil tee. I needed the denim jacket in the cooler morning, although when I was running errands later I'd taken it off, as the day warmed up so much!

The boys had a kid's birthday party and I also had a lot of errands to run. I wore the Chloe Paraty bag as I like the light periwinkle blue with both red and navy, and because it has room for all the essentials plus my latest library book for when I was waiting for an appointment between errands.

Why I wore it:

This orange maxi skirt is on that is frequently worn with blue. I like the navy tee with it, it's the first time I've worn the two together surprisingly. The denim moto jacket is a frequently worn piece with this skirt though, they look so good together.

Just like the day above I didn't need the denim jacket all day though, with the weather warming up nicely as the kids had a sports session.

The Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie bag added another shade of blue to this outfit and also has space for all my essentials plus my latest library book so it was an obvious choice to carry.

Jeans, Cosy Knits and Luna Blue Edie Bag

With colder winter days in Queensland, I've pulled out some of my warmer winter knits to keep me cosy!

Why I wore it:

I really like this knitted poncho. It's too warm to wear most of the year in Brisbane, but on this chilly winter day it was perfect! Just like a snuggly blanket it kept me warm for working from home, and then in the afternoon when we had some errands to run and a birthday present to buy for my son's friend.

With the pretty pattern on this poncho I stuck to neutral pieces underneath with this navy tee and the black skinny jeans and black Converse, I added a little more colour with another shade of blue from this Rebecca Minkoff Luna blue Edie bag, that goes with everything!

Why I wore it:

This was a cold morning that was threatening rain and I was honestly tempted to stay inside all day! I'd booked the kids in for a couple of school holiday events though so we braved the chill and wrapped up warmly. Got a lot of fun photos too, with a wildlife show (even the lizards had their own hot water bottle!) and then a coding event at the library.

This red waterfall drape cardigan is one that can be buttoned up on the shoulders. Great for breastfeeding in winter and using as a cover up, it also turns into a cosy wrap tunic if you just button up both sides. It's the first time I've worn this red one like this (although I've done it with the navy version of this cardigan before) and I really liked this. I skipped the scarf and added statement earrings instead to dress this up a little, but the cheerful red of this cardigan makes enough of a statement on its own.

Paired it with my dark grey jeans, and again the black Converse and Luna blue Edie shoulder bag.

Black Jeans, Collarless Jackets and Love Too Bag

Dressing up jeans and a tee outfits for the office by adding these two collarless jackets on top of black skinny jeans.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This boucle collarless jacket is a really thick fabric so it seemed like a good choice for a winter workday. While jeans and a tee is a staple in my business casual office, I feel adding a jacket or blazer on top like this helps make it look a little more formal.

I really liked the pale coral tee with all the black in this outfit too, it was a nice way to add some colour without being too bold. I liked the extra little colour from the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love bag too, which works well with both the lighter tee and all the black in the rest of my outfit.

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! My son had a sports day at school so I spent some time in the morning after drop off watching him compete, then travelled into the office a little later. I thought that this silk Diane Von Furstenberg jacket would be good as I wasn't expecting it to be too cold sitting on the side lines of the oval on a sunny morning. It was a little chilly though and I regretted not adding a scarf to this outfit!

Last time I wore this jacket I had a hard time picking a necklace, so I decided to just wear this pretty sparkly tee, although the sparkle never shows up in photos. I added the statement earrings instead of a necklace and I really liked this combination, even if it was not quite warm enough for the day.

Pink and Navy Jeans and Tee Outfits

Two more autumn jeans outfits. I feel jeans become a staple as the weather starts to cool off here in Brisbane. Both of these are colourful outfits though, with pink and navy as I really love pink and blue together in any combination of shades.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

It's the first time I've worn this navy tie dye duster and this pink v-neck tee together which surprises me. Both of these pieces are firm favourites, so it was nice to finally wear them together! We had a couple of errands to run and some birthday presents to buy, so jeans and a tee was what I reached for.

I wasn't sure about the washed rose pink of the tee with the brighter pink in one of the tassels on the necklace, and the hot pink of my Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC, but I'm glad I wore all these different shades together, I think it worked well in the end. The black jeans and black Converse were good neutrals with the tie dye and those different shades of pink.

Why I wore it:

Another jeans and tee outfit for another weekend day. I had a couple of errands to run again, and dropped my son off at his friend's house for a playdate. I thrifted these pink Zara frayed hem skinny jeans a while back, and they look great with navy! This tee was a great pairing with them.

As in the outfit above, I wasn't too sure at first about having these different shades of pink together with the brighter pink of the jeans and the hot pink of the Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag, and although I didn't love it as much as the outfit above, I'm glad I gave this a go.

Green and Black Outfits With Love Too Bag

While it's officially winter now in Brisbane, I still have some autumn outfits I wore that I haven't posted yet, like this printed shorts outfit I actually wore back in April! Both it and the second outfit are made up of green and black.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I really like this combination of a green piece in my outfit with the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and the chunky green, navy and black geometric bead statement necklace. It's an outfit combination I've worn a few times. This is the first time I've worn the green tee with these black printed shorts though. I also liked this pairing.

Just needed something practical and comfortable to wear for a day of working at home with a break in the afternoon for a physio appointment. As it was back in April and a warm autumn, shorts and tee was perfect.

Why I wore it:

Another autumn outfit, but you can definitely tell it's cooler here! Again it's a black and green outfit, with the black zip detail skinny jeans, and a green floral duster. I wore my little Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag with this again as well. I really like wearing this teal bag with greens!

It's not the first time I've worn this green floral duster with navy either, I really like pairing navy tops with it. I thrifted this tee a while back and it has a beautiful metallic thread weaved through it that sadly just doesn't show up in photos. I really like it in person though, feels a little more special than a plain navy tee with that sparkle.

Jeans and a tee is always a good idea for a working from home day when I'm also doing the school run, and we had sports in the evening too.

Navy and Pink Pencil Skirt and Tee Outfits With Grey Mini MAB Bag

More office outfits, with two navy and pink tee and pencil skirt combinations. I like how a casual tee and pencil skirt outfit feels a little formal for the office now after 2020 - even without a blazer I still feel suitably dressed up. Both outfits I'm wearing my Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag and my trusty black Converse. Both accessories go with everything.

It was another rainy autumn day in Brisbane so I needed to bring a bit of colour - and this tee is such a nice cheerful shade of pink! Wore it with my navy jacquard pencil skirt, which surprisingly I have not yet hit 30 wears with yet. It's such a nice pencil skirt for in the office, I really like the jacquard texture for something a little different.

I went a little matchy-matchy with the navy beaded necklace matching the skirt, and then classic neutral accessories against the pink tee with the grey Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag and the black Converse.

Another office day, another navy and pink pencil skirt and tee outfit! Again I picked the same accessories with this with the black Converse and the grey Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag. They just go with everything!

I went with a pink skirt this time - just like the jacquard navy pencil skirt above, this mesh and polka dot one is textured and very fun to wear. I like the pale pink, and it pairs nicely with the navy tee. As I say every time I wear this tee, I wish the navy lurex thread woven through it showed up in photos - it's a really nice detail in person and impossible to miss the sparkle it gives! With the silver thread in the tee and the silver hardware on the Rebecca Minkoff MAM bag, a silver necklace was an obvious choice and this one was overdue another wear.
