Why I wore it:

This was a fun day! Each year my mum and sister and I have an annual shopping day to finalise all our Christmas shopping. We left it a little late this year, as it was the last week of November, but it had given us plenty of time to finalise our shopping lists. And we were happy to find out the date we had organised weeks in advance was the Black Friday weekend, as there were so many deals! It was pretty crowded at the shops but I saved over $50 just on Lego alone so it worked out well despite the long lines trying to buy things.

This silver star print tee seemed like a slightly festive choice to wear for our long and productive day of shopping. It's comfortable and I liked the little sparkle, even if it didn't match the gold hardware on the Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag. I'd wanted to wear green and orange together again and thought his rust skirt and green bag were a good way to try that. I really loved the last time I wore orange and green together for our Christmas photos!

With the star print on the tee being fairly subtle I added this necklace at the last minute too. None of the other ones I tried seemed to be right, and I'm not sure this one was either, but I just wanted to go make a start on shopping. We were at the shops shortly after they opened and in our second last store when they put out a message it was closing in 20 minutes! A very productive shopping day, got all my Christmas shopping finished.

Last worn: heart earrings, star print foil tee, heart charm necklacerust ruffle skirt, New Balance sneakers, green mini 5-zip bag.

Other ways to wear: star print foil tee and maxi skirt, rust ruffle skirt and denim jacket, green mini 5-zip bag with red.

Why I wore it:

Wore this for another busy day with lots of rushing around. After the school drop off I took the little one on a couple of errands. We stopped at the shops and visited a friend before heading to the library. Then after school pickup, we were back at the shops again! I'd been sick that week so hadn't been able to take my eldest out to the shops earlier, and we needed to pick up a little gift for a party he was going to the next day.

I couldn't decide what to wear, when I realised I hadn't worn this striped tee in a while and I really like stripes with this ochre maxi skirt! As I had my big reusable tote for our shopping I just threw our water bottles in there and wore my little Rebecca Minkoff aqua mini MAC bag to carry just the essentials. This bag was also overdue a wear having not being worn in a while!

Surprisingly I haven't worn the bag and skirt together before, the aqua and amber are beautiful together. I liked that the silver hardware on the bag matched the silver foil stripes on the tee too.

Last worn: Tiffany diamond necklace, foil print silver stripe tee, ochre maxi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC.

Other ways to wearfoil print silver stripe tee and shorts, ochre maxi skirt and knit, white Converse and printed jeans, Rebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC with mustard.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff aquamarine mini MAC in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Foil print tees are a nice way to change up a classic tee and skirt combo. The metallic foil makes it feel like you put a little more effort into your outfit, while still being easy to wear. Plus that little extra sparkle is so festive!

    1. I'm not sure we would brave the stores again on a black Friday weekend but it did work out well for savings this time!

  8. I like the outfit with the orange mini skirt and the green bag. It's lovely!
The maxi skirt would require a tee with a more visible pattern than the stripes,(to my personal taste).

  13. Well done on finishing your shopping so early, Mica! I'm glad you were able to save some $.

Love both of these outfits - your bag-pairing in both cases is stellar. That emerald green (it reads more turquoise to me) is so nice with the skirt colour. I can't really see your necklace, but I like the look of it.

The bolder foiled stripes look so good with your ochre yellow/orangey skirt in the second outfit. I LOVE that Mini Mac with the python embossing - what a nice luxe detail.

    Take care, my dear friend!
