What I wore:
Scarf: Stella McCartney heart print scarf
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey midi dress in amber (new purchase)
Shoes: New Balance white and blue sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Julian nylon backpack in bright blue
Why I wore it:
I knew I wanted to wear this scarf with the dress the first time I wore it, the blue heart print works so well with the amber of the dress. It turned into such a warm day and I didn't need both the denim jacket and scarf after school drop off, but since I'd forgotten mozzie repellent for our little walk around our fave trail I decided to keep the jacket on and keep my arms safe from bites! Did end up taking off both the denim jacket and scarf for school pickup though. As we spent most of the day out on the trail I just used the Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack as my bag all day. It's a great bag for holding water bottles and snacks for out on the trail. It popped beautifully with the bright blue against the orange dress too.
Last worn: moto denim jacket, heart print scarf, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack. First time I've worn the dress as it is a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: moto denim jacket and florals, heart print scarf with stripes, Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack with green jeans.
Wardrobe Room Tour & Handbag Storage:
What I wore:
Necklace: Jeanswest Taryn turquoise tassel bead necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey midi dress in amber
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag
Why I wore it:
I really liked this outfit, despite the squinting from the sun 😂 Wore this for Father's Day as I was so eager to wear this dress again quite quickly! Stuck with the denim jacket topper, although picked a darker blue one this time, and I really liked this combination. As it was a warmer day I went with the tassel necklace instead of a scarf, and as there were no extra long walks required I picked Converse instead of my walking shoes. I loved the way Converse looks with this dress, I need to wear it again with Converse in the future!Again I went with a blue bag with this, my little sky grey Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC the boys got me for Mother's Day. Did consider going matchy-matchy with a turquoise bag to match the tassel necklace, but I really liked this greyish blue against the orange dress.
Last worn: indigo denim jacket, turquoise tassel necklace, Kmart amber tiered dress (above), Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: indigo denim jacket in second trimester, turquoise tassel necklace worn 30 ways, Kmart amber tiered dress (above), Converse and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC in monchrome outfit.
Perfect for pregnancy: indigo denim jacket in second trimester, Converse in second trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
A bright tiered midi dress is perfect for spring, especially in orange! It's easily layered with a denim jacket - and blue bags are a great accessory choice!

Pretty color in that dress. Thought it was a skirt until I read the title of the post. Kind of has a pioneer feel that I love.
ReplyDeleteSo funny how KMart is no longer here in the U.S. but it is thriving there in Australia. You find the cutest things there.
Yes it's a shame the Kmarts aren't the same - our Targets struggle like your Kmarts!
DeleteLove the amber dress, so glad you ordered it even after having passed it up in the store! I think it will be a great piece to transition into the summer!

Such a cute dress. I have a dress like this from years ago and I can't seem to get back in to this trend again.

I love it - add a tier or two to a dress and I can't stop wanting it, haha! :)
DeleteI love these outfits, Mica! Such a cute dress. I think you did it right... When you wait to purchase an item and can't stop thinking about it, then you know you're really gonna love and wear it! But of course, then you always run the risk that it'll no longer be available by the time you go back... It's a gamble! But that's the fun. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope your week is off to a great start!

I love the way you've styled the dress in both looks! What I love is that they both exude different vibes, as the the first one has a hint of edginess with the leather jacket and the second is more boho casual. Great styling and perfect example of how a dress like this can be so versatile!
