What I wore:
Tank: Target embroidered khaki tank
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
While I've worn this olive tank with a black maxi skirt before, it's the first time I've paired it with this particular maxi skirt. I really liked the combination - with the black embroidery on the olive tank, wearing it with more black is such an obvious choice. While it was a warmer autumn day I still needed something to cover up my arms, so I went with this classic denim jacket that works with everything. See 30 different ways to wear it here. With the blue denim jacket, the neutral navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag was a nice matchy-matchy option. I didn't need to carry much either as it was a quieter day with just the school drop off, helping in my son's classroom and then relaxing with the little one before school pick up and sports in the evening.
Last worn: denim jacket, olive embroidered tank, black ruffle hem maxi skirt, Converse, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket worn 30 ways, olive embroidered tank and shorts, black ruffle hem maxi skirt and graphic tee, Converse and printed dress, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: denim jacket in second trimester, Converse in second trimester.
Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Top: Caroline Morgan navy embroidered tunic
Skirt: thrifted Billabong 'Don't Think Of It' bikini red printed maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Last worn: white denim jacket, navy embroidered tunic, Tiffany necklace, red printed maxi skirt, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag (above).
Other ways to wear: white denim jacket with tie dye, navy embroidered tunic and shorts, red printed maxi skirt with mustard knit, blue Converse and culottes, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and chambray dress.

Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford Review
What I wore:
Top: Caroline Morgan navy embroidered tunic
Skirt: thrifted Billabong 'Don't Think Of It' bikini red printed maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
Unlike the first outfit above, I wasn't so confident this would work. The embroidered navy tunic is so pretty but with the print on the maxi skirt I wasn't sure if it was too busy. I'm so glad I gave this a go though, really liked it. The white denim jacket pulled it all together nicely and I do always like navy with this skirt. Again, the Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag was a bit of matchy-matchy with the navy top. Even though the Converse are a different shade of blue from the blue in the embroidery I thought they went well with this too.Had a busy day! After school drop off the little one and I spent some time visiting my mum at her work, and then we had to go drop some books off at the library. I'd made it to my mum's work okay with the GPS (I've only been there a handful of times) but heading to the library instead of back home was tricky. At one point the GPS tracker line just jumped off the road and piled up into a big scribble. Never seen that before! Anticipating that it would just recalculate I tried to go further down what I thought was the right road and it tried to catch up but then the line just stopped....so I ended up pulling off onto a side road and trying to figure the route out myself as it yelled conflicting nonsensical directions at me. Even my son in the back of the car was getting annoyed in the end and kept asking when we would be there at the library already 😂We made it in the end, even if we took the very long scenic route!
Last worn: white denim jacket, navy embroidered tunic, Tiffany necklace, red printed maxi skirt, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag (above).

How You Can Wear It:
An embroidered top and a maxi skirt make for an easy, boho outfit. You can add a denim jacket as an simple layer for a cooler day too that won't clash with any embroidery or print you have in your outfit.

very nice bag! It looks very comfortable and color is nice: simple to style yet not boring. love this bright red skirt from the second outfit as well. I don't think second outfit is anywhere busy, pattern play is very nice is you actually give it a go. surely it doesn't always work but when it does it's very eyecatching
ReplyDeleteYes I'm glad I tried it out! :)
DeleteDear Mica, winter is coming with you and we are sweating in the summer heat ;-) I really like your two outfits with a denim jacket and a maxi skirt. The boho style suits you so well and both combinations are beautiful. I'm glad you made it to the library despite GPS.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week,
love Nadine
DeleteYes it was quite an adventure, haha!
I love your second outfit, it's so fun and bohemian :)

Nothing beats denim jackets for layering! Love the white one contrasted with the red maxi skirt. Thanks for the link up!

Both of those embroidered tanks are really pretty. I especially like the second outfit so I am glad you tried that combo. Your adventures with the gps remind me of the times when ours couldn't figure out where we were.
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
Yes, I'm glad I tried it too. I think it can be so funny when the GPS fails sometimes! :)
DeleteThose are such lovely embroidered tops and I love how you styled them.
ReplyDeleteMy GPS has pulled that one me once or twice and it's always so strange because I have literally no idea where it is taking me! And I love your collection of denim jackets. I've never been able to find one that fits me quite the way I want it to so I'm always a little envious seeing other people in theirs.

It's funny how they get so confused sometimes!
DeleteThese look great outfits and love the bag :-D
ReplyDeleteSo cute, Mica! I love denim jackets with maxi skirts and dresses. You styled both of these in such a great way! Stay warm as winter moves in on you, my friend.

I love maxi skirts, but haven't worn one in forever. Love the pairings that you did.
ReplyDeleteTwo great layered outfit options for cooler weather! I especially like the red, white and blue pattern mix. Sorry to hear about your GPS snafu-I have been at odds with the machine and had to pull off the road to re-orient, too!
ReplyDeletethey can be so funny when they just break like that!
DeleteLOving the embroidery! I'm also wearing embroidery today! I find it's a great touch to a garment. Have a wonderful week xx
ReplyDeleteLove how the white denim jacket picks up the white in the top and bottom, really pulling everything together!
ReplyDelete
DeleteYes I think the jacket really makes the outfit! :)
Denim jackets and maxi skirts are such a great combination, aren't they? I love the way you've made both looks work so well - and I very much like that red patterned skirt, it's so cheerful :)
ReplyDeleteJean jackets are so versatile, aren't they? They make the perfect toppers in both of these outfits, Mica! You're looking so fabulous! Good for you for branching out with your pattern-mixing with the embroidered top and patterned skirt - it looks fantastic and really makes the outfit sing.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your GPS malfunction! The scenic route is not always the most fast, but at least you figured it out! Ah, that makes me miss actual paper maps, ha ha!
haha yes GPS can cause more trouble than they are worth sometimes!
DeleteDenim jackets are such wardrobe staples, aren't they. I started wearing mine as soon as the weather allowed. I'm glad you went ahead with the second outfit, even if you weren't confident at first. I love the well balanced colour and pattern pairing of this one! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Mica
ReplyDeleteI like your second look most, it is more colorful and I love that!
I have some stories with GPS too ahahah!!

That second outfit is marvelous Mica (I like the first one too, but that second one is so colorful). I think it's good to try new ways to put items together like this because we can be surprised in a good way.

The magic of a denim jacket is its power to pull together and add polish to almost any look. Your looks didn't need that magic as both of them were great from the start.

That is a nice bag. How many denim jackets do you have?
ReplyDeleteJust 3! A pale blue moto one, and these too. I so want to add a black one too though, haha!
DeleteI am always super impressed at your style. I tend to wear the same things time after time (and comfort is the driver).
ReplyDeleteAs you can see from this post, they are the same outfit formula (embroidered top, maxi skirt and denim jacket) they just look so different as I've used different pieces and colours. I wear the same comfortable formulas over and over, just mix up the pieces, easy :)
DeleteThose you shared are beautiful Mica! Those embroidery tops looks amazing. I loved combination of denim jacket and maxi skirt. Your blogsite is So cute. I followed you. Greetings from Turkey.
ReplyDeleteOh I so think the second look works it has a boho vibe to it, I LOVE it!!

ReplyDeleteThose are lovely denim jackets and maxi skirt combos. I love the first outfit where you paired your denim jacket with a black maxi skirt- very chic combo. I also really like your second styling where you paired your denim jacket with a bold maxi skirt for a busy day. There's a rock chic feeling to that outfit.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Hello Mica, I hope you had a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteSeems that you have a favorite new bag, this Bedford model looks perfect for a quick escapade or to style with casual looks. It is the bag that can carry a lot of stuff but looks chic and practical!
I loved that you mixed it up with really different colors, like the red in the 2nd option and the olive green which suits you really well, actually I am wearing that color today and I love how it looks with vibrant colors!
Have a great week ahead!
