Skinny jeans, Black Tops and Blazers With Mimco Mim-mazing Crossbody Bag

Two colourful blazer outfits I wore with black tops, black bags, and jeans for office days recently.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

I really liked the colours in this outfit! With the black linen blend tank and the orange blazer this outfit it might have looked a little Halloween-ish. But the burgundy jeans break that association beautifully I thought. Even though it's spring here in Brisbane I really liked the autumn colours in this outfit and I'm going to have to wear red with this orange blazer more often!

Kept the accessories simple with my little black Mimco crossbody bag, Adidas Superstar sneakers and the foil necklace. Blazer and jeans makes for a great outfit for a day working in the office, and the bright colours in this really made me smile.

Why I wore it:

Another bright blazer. This blue one I thrifted a while back is such a fun pop of colour against black. To let the blazer be the statement piece in my outfit I kept the rest black and white, with this black lace tank, the white skinny jeans and white Converse. Again I wore the little black Mimco crossbody bag. I felt like I could still add a little extra colour in this outfit though, so went with this fun multi coloured statement piece.

I felt comfortable in this outfit. The bright blazer was professional but still fun as I had a massive presentation to give in the office. It went well, I got good feedback. And all the special pieces in this outfit (necklace from my bestie, my mum's tank and bracelets from my friend) helped give me a bit of a confidence boost for the presentation too.

Black and White Jeans, Tee and Knit Outfits With Red Saddle Bag

Feeling uninspired with my winter wardrobe and having two quieter days in the office recently I stuck to an easy outfit formula of white tee, black skinny jeans and black knits, with a pop of colour from my little red Rebecca Minkoff studded saddle bag.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

This cosy knitted poncho was a good choice for a colder morning commute. It's not the most formal piece for the office, but I had a quiet day mostly at my desk and it was warm enough in the office not to need this, so I just wore the jeans and tee most of the time. I definitely appreciated the knit in the morning though, although at school pickup in the afternoon and taking the kids to sport it warmed up enough I didn't need to wear it.

With the black jeans, white tee, and black and white knit, the black and white Adidas Superstar sneakers seemed like a good matchy-matchy choice. I added a little colour with the red Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag, it really pops with a black and white outfit like this. Although it's hard to pick up in the photos, I wore my little red dinosaur skeleton earrings too and they got some lovely compliments, they are so fun.

Why I wore it:

Another office day with a white tee, black jeans and black knit outfit! It's a little hard to see because of the big striped scarf but I like this white tee as it's textured and adds a little more interest to an outfit.

Much colder start to the day as this was back in winter that I wore this, so I needed the scarf for warmth in the early morning commute. And I also really liked the pink and red combination of the scarf when it was against the black and white outfit and paired with the little red Rebecca Minkoff studded saddle bag. Although the shades of red of the scarf and bag don't match, I liked them together, and I added another bit of red with the tiny clay star earrings I made.

Tiered Midi Dresses, Blue Scarves and Superstar Sneakers

Adding a touch of navy to these colourful Kmart tiered midi dresses with printed scarves for winter office days.

What I wore:

Why I wore it:

While the faded electric blue 5 zip bag, dark navy suede moto jacket and tile print scarf are all different shades I though they looked nice with the orange tiered midi dress. I wear this dress with blue a lot, I always like blue and orange together. I did have a little matchy-matchy with the navy tassel earrings matching the tassels on the scarf, and that made me happy.

I find I'm reaching for this dress and similar ones quite a lot recently, as we get closer and closer to spring in Brisbane it isn't too cold to be going out with bare ankles, even on the early morning commute to the office as I had on this day.

Why I wore it:

I wish it had been a drier day so it wasn't so dark and cloudy when I took outfit photos in the morning, as I loved the colours in this outfit but it was hard to capture before rushing off into the city. It's not the first time I've worn this little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag with a pink dress, the colour looks so good with a bright fuchsia. And while it is the first time I've worn the cobalt leather jacket with the fuchsia pink dress I do love wearing this dress with shades of blue.

I couldn't resist adding a few more shades of blue like I did in the outfit above, with the turquoise earrings and the navy bird print scarf. This was so cheerful and colourful, I loved this outfit. Perfect for a day in the office with some colleagues from outside Brisbane.

Coral Dresses, Blue Scarves and Leather Jackets

Two very similar outfits for winter office days - colourful coral dresses with black leather jackets, bright blue scarves and my Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Why I wore it:

I really liked this outfit! It was a colder day but with a slip under this dress, my cosy cobalt scarf and the thick leather jacket on top I didn't feel too cold from having my bare ankles popping out from under the dress. By the time I was back from the office and picking the kids up from school I was even warm enough to take the jacket off. Definitely appreciated and needed it on the cold morning commute though!

With the bright coral tiered midi dress I knew this blue scarf would look great. The deep teal Love Too bag is a different shade of blue with this outfit but I think it really worked with this colourful dress. I loved this outfit, colourful for a colder winter day.

Why I wore it:

This outfit I did not love as much as the one above. Very similar with a slip under a midi dress, a warm black leather jacket, sneakers and a cosy blanket scarf. This Louis Vuitton shawl is one of the warmest scarves I have. However I didn't really think this outfit through. I like this dress for work, I've worn it a few times, and the midi dress and leather jacket and cosy scarf combination worked well for the first outfit above.

With this midi dress being a wrap dress though, walking through the city in the morning to get into the office I realised the error of my ways as the wrap dress opens a little at the base as you walk, which left a lot more of my legs exposed to the cold than in the outfit above. I was glad to get into the heated office, and will be keeping this dress only for warmer days!

Grey Tees, Black Jeans, Long Cardigans and Scarves

Two outfits with grey tees and black jeans, one more colourful one and another just as cosy but a lot more neutral dues to the different colour cardigans I layered with.

Why I wore it:

After we had spent most of the school holidays at home sick, we were all feeling better so layered up to run a couple of errands. We also stopped by a local exhibition, as well as dropping off some of the things we had cleared out during our time at home to the local opshop. I couldn't resist browsing too, the kids got a new boardgame while I ended up with a bunch of summer pieces for my wardrobe. Very eager for winter to be over!

The grey tee and black jeans were very neutral before I added this bright red waterfall cardigan and the tartan scarf. With the blues in the scarf I thought the little blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag was a good accessory, and I didn't need to carry much, just the essentials.

Why I wore it:

These coated jeans were one of my opshop finds on the day above! I was eager to wear them, I've tried a few coated jeans in the past but not been impressed. I was so pleased these $1 ones from the opshop were winners, they are very comfortable. I wasn't sure at first if they looked too like leggings, so I layered up to cover my butt just in case, with this grey tunic tee (also an opshop find) and my grey waterfall cardigan. With the black and white Adidas Superstar sneakers and the black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag this was a very neutral outfit. I added my Mickey Mouse scarf and the statement earrings for a little extra colour, but not too much as I quite liked all the neutrals together.

This was a great outfit for a day of shopping down the coast with my mum and sister. Mum was very generous so I ended up with quite a few things for me which was fun, even though the intention was to start looking at Christmas presents she let me take everything she bought for me home.

Knits and Maxi Skirts

Making some of my maxi skirts work in Brisbane's winter by adding some cosy knitted jumpers on top for colourful winter outfits.

Why I wore it:

This was a fun weekend day! I thought it might have been a bit too chilly to wear this maxi skirt but with the thick burgundy ribbed knit jumper on top, I felt nice and warm. I've worn the ochre maxi skirt with reds and burgundy shades before, I really like the combination and I loved this darker wine coloured burgundy knit against the orange, especially with the black and gold accessories.

We had a few errands to run in the morning, my son had some birthday gift cards to spend as he had picked what he wanted to use the cards on, so we did that and then took Bonnie to her last puppy training class. She graduated, very proud of her! She was surrendered twice to the shelter before we adopted her so it's awesome to see how much she is learning and growing with us.

Why I wore it:

Another warm but colourful outfit! I wasn't sure if the cobalt marle knit and leopard print maxi skirt and pink skull scarf was too busy of an outfit all together, but I did really like the matching pink of the scarf and bag with this so gave it a go. I probably wouldn't wear the scarf and skirt together again, as it's a lot of print, but I'm glad I gave it a try at least.

Again it was a chilly and windy day, this cobalt knit was a great topper over the leopard print maxi skirt and I was warm for the school run, working from home, and then taking the kids out for a quick errand after school pick up.

Adding some cosy blanket scarves for the cold winter commute to the office recently! Both of these blazer and jeans outfits have striped tops as well as the colourful scarves.

Why I wore it:

A cold and foggy morning had me reaching for jeans and this Louis Vuitton shawl that is one of the cosiest blanket scarves I own. I like the bright cobalt blue pop of colour it adds to the black blazer and black jeans outfit. The blue goes so well with the red stripes on my long sleeved top as well. Kept me nice and warm on the cooler commute to the office.

With the black blazer and black jeans I reached for more black and wore my little Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag again.

Why I wore it:

Similar outfit combination to the one above, but much more colourful! I went with my burgundy jeans that hadn't been worn in a while and were overdue another wear.

The grey blazer is lighter than the black one above, and the colourful mixed print scarf helped brighten up the outfit more too. Even if, unlike the day I wore the outfit above, this ended up being a very warm day and I'd shed the scarf by the afternoon on my way home from the office.

Again I wore the little black Mimco crossbody bag. It looks just as good with this more colourful outfit as it does with the matching black clothes in the outfit above.

Dressing up jeans and a tee outfits for the office by adding these two collarless jackets on top of black skinny jeans.

Why I wore it:

This boucle collarless jacket is a really thick fabric so it seemed like a good choice for a winter workday. While jeans and a tee is a staple in my business casual office, I feel adding a jacket or blazer on top like this helps make it look a little more formal.

I really liked the pale coral tee with all the black in this outfit too, it was a nice way to add some colour without being too bold. I liked the extra little colour from the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love bag too, which works well with both the lighter tee and all the black in the rest of my outfit.

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! My son had a sports day at school so I spent some time in the morning after drop off watching him compete, then travelled into the office a little later. I thought that this silk Diane Von Furstenberg jacket would be good as I wasn't expecting it to be too cold sitting on the side lines of the oval on a sunny morning. It was a little chilly though and I regretted not adding a scarf to this outfit!

Last time I wore this jacket I had a hard time picking a necklace, so I decided to just wear this pretty sparkly tee, although the sparkle never shows up in photos. I added the statement earrings instead of a necklace and I really liked this combination, even if it was not quite warm enough for the day.

Pink and Black Outfits With Printed Scarves and Rebecca Minkoff Cupid Bag

Just like my previous post, sticking to another colour scheme for these two outfits with pink tees, printed scarves and black. Both slightly different outfits, for busy days working from home and watching my kids sports events.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Dotti black cocoon cape cardigan
Scarf: Stella McCartney heart print scarf
Tee: Cotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoes: Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: thrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

I love this cosy cocoon cardigan! It was a great $1 opshop find and I always look forward to being able to wear it when the weather gets cooler. Paired with the black skinny jeans, it was quite a dark outfit, but the pink tee and the blue heart print scarf added just enough colour to brighten it up.

Had to have something simple and practical for working from home, and using the gaps between meetings to run a quick errand at lunch time and spend a little time at my son's sports day at school. Of course it meant making up the time afterwards, so quite a long day, but a fun one too. The Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag was ideal as it fit my camera alongside all my other essentials for taking photos of my son competing.

Why I wore it:

Another pink and black outfit, with this ruffle hem maxi skirt instead of jeans. Still had some denim in it though with the denim jacket. Again I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag for extra carry space, as I had another sports day to attend for my sons. Luckily, this one was in the afternoon so I was able to wrap up work early and go enjoy the whole event, and I got some great pics!

While it had been a cool morning on the school run and a little chilly while working from home, this cosy Paisley print snood / infinity scarf was much too warm for the afternoon sports day on the oval and I ended up taking it off. I did like the print and interest it added to the outfit, even if it did cover up the ombre colour on this pink tee and I took it off later in the afternoon.
