What I wore:
Tee: Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey
Why I wore it:
When I saw this tee in store I thought it was a very bright red, even though the tag says coral. I think the camera picks up the orange of it a bit more. It's such a vibrant colour, but in a basic v-neck tee it's still so easy to wear.Paired with my striped maxi skirt and again the Rebecca Minkoff love bag, this was a simple and comfortable outfit. I've worn a very similar outfit before with a different red tee! Went to the playground and library with the boys and ran a few errands afterwards.
Last worn: blue beaded necklace, striped maxi skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag. First time I've worn the coral tee as it is a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: striped maxi skirt in winter, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag worn 30 ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: Rebecca Minkoff love bag in second trimester.
30 Ways To Wear: Rebecca Minkoff Love Bag
What I wore:
Tee: Jeanswest Emma woven trim tee in terracotta
Skirt: Noisy May long denim maxi skirt
Shoes: black slim Havaianas thongs
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey
Why I wore it:
Again, repeating an outfit formula I loved and wearing the same thing a few days later just with different pieces. I stuck with the red and blue combo though! It's not the first time I've worn this chambray maxi skirt with a red top. I had to double check in my blog archives that I hadn't worn this plain red tee with the maxi skirt before, it seems like such an obvious combination! I love the way this tee works with blue denim. A nice casual and comfortable outfit was needed for a quiet day, daycare drop off and working from home before doing the pickup.
The Rebecca Minkoff love bag is a classic and the structured shape dresses up a casual tee and maxi skirt outfit a little more.
Last worn: red tee, beaded necklace, chambray maxi skirt, Havaianas (above), Rebecca Minkoff love bag (above).
Other ways to wear: red tee and black jeans, chambray maxi skirt and leather jacket, Rebecca Minkoff love bag worn 30 ways.
Perfect for pregnancy: Rebecca Minkoff love bag in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Red and blue is a fun colour combination - and as you can see from the navy and coral and red and chambray outfits, it's something you can try in any shade! Wearing a maxi skirt instead of jeans is a good way to break out of a jeans and tee rut, while still having all the comfort and coverage of jeans.Linking up with Friday Faves, Sunday Reflections, Shoe & Tell, Mutton Style, On Mondays We Link Up, Modest Monday.
Such a cute bag and I love how versatile it looks. I really want a grey bag xx

It goes with everything! You should get one :)
DeleteI really like that striped maxi skirt with the coral top! That color is so pretty on you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend Mica!

I love maxis! I've started wearing them so much during the summer - with a plain T-shirt or sleeveless shirt. They really make it look like you put effort into dressing (when you know you really didn't). I love both of yours - I have a patterned one and a plain one but nothing with any flare to it and I need to remedy that this summer (now, how to sneak one more thing into my closet....). That coral color is gorgeous! It's my favorite nail polish color for spring and summer. It changes color depending on what you wear with it and the lighting. It goes with reds and oranges and peaches and apricots (OK, now I'm getting hungry). And, of course, another of your amazing bags. I really love the size of this one and keep saying I'm going to be better about switching purses to suit my outfits (I buy a bag that goes with everything and that's it....I have others but I'm always afraid I'll leave something out that I really need (like my driver's license or tinted lip balm) so I just don't :(

haha yes, coral is such a fun colour to wear, it does seem to look different in every outfit! :) I keep all my stuff organised in little pouches so it's easy to swap bags, sometimes I swap daily! :)
DeleteLove the maxi skirts and the bag is so chic! Love the quilted look.

You always get a lot of wear from your bags which is really great. I wonder how you get time to do videos, they are really clear and good. Have a fun weekend!

Thanks, I'm glad you like the videos! I tend to film a bunch at once whenever I get the chance! Sometimes when the kids are at the park with hubby I can get 2 or 3 filmed!
DeleteI love that bright orange colour - it's a great piece to add a dash of colour to an outfit. I need to get some more brightly coloured tops into my closet...
ReplyDeleteCourtney ~ Sartorial Sidelines
Yes I have been focusing on bright tops, I needed more in my wardrobe too!
DeleteThe colours of these tops really suit you, Mica, and of course, you always wear the maxi skirts so effortlessly.:)
ReplyDeletePS You should totally be a spokesperson for RM! You always make me wanna get the bags.:)
Have a lovely weekend:)
I'd be the cheapest spokesperson ever, they could pay me in bags! haha!
DeleteLoving both of these! They would be perfect to wear on any of our US-themed holidays, haha....4th of July, Memorial Day ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how sometimes the most obvious pairings don't come to us until we've worn something a million times

DeleteAren't maxi skirts wonderful to wear, for any occasion? I'm especially loving your first outfit, as I think navy and orange are very striking together. Have a great weekend, Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteThey are so great to wear!
DeleteFantastic color. At first when I heard that would be The color of this season, I wasn't very pleased. But I can see it now as a gorgeous color! Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love a maxi skirt, and you're looking great in these rich reds, Mica! The first outfit is my preference, as the tee looks like a better quality one; the second tee looks a little too droopy - maybe it's the arm length?
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend, my dear!
hehe they are both from the same place! :) I just love the slouchiness even if it looks much more casual.
DeleteSuch a cute combination and the red is so pretty with the blues. Love the bag too. Hope you have a great weekend. - Amy

I love this color combination. I usually pair red with black, but the blue is such a great neutral to pair red with. I love how you styled both looks. Both look comfy and cute.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great weekend.

I love how you style your outfits! I like the plain top with a patterned bottom combo. The bag is small enough that you can fit the necessities without it being too much. The color combination isn't bad at all! I need to try this out. Thanks for sharing!

Hope you do give this colour combo a try! :)

After watching your YouTube clip, I'm convinced that I need a grey bag just like yours! Haha ;) It really does go with absolutely everything and is such a great colour and style. I've only started to appreciate grey as a fab alternative to black in the last few years. I'm definitely way overdue for a grey bag then! ;) Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Mica! XXX
ReplyDeletehaha you need a grey bag! They do go with everything :)
DeleteYes, the first tee does look more orange then red in the photograph. Sometimes camera picks up colours differently. Who knows maybe that is how they label colours in the store? Anyhow, you look lovely in that coral tee and striped maxi. I really like the second outfit with the longer orange tee and a denim maxi skirt.

Yes it's interesting seeing how different it looks int he screen than in person!
DeleteWhat a beautiful maxi skirt, and I love the coral tee!

I understand why you bought the first shirt as the colour is really wonderful vibrant! The pairing with the striped maxi skirt is perfect and you are right the combination of the second outfit is really obvious and I like it although you know finally you wore it for the first time!
