Plain Tees, Maxi Skirts and Rebecca Minkoff Love Bag

Wearing some plain tees with maxi skirts and the cutest Rebecca Minkoff love bag for easy mum style. I picked my Rebecca Minkoff love bag to wear as I felt it was overdue a wear!

What I wore:

Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral, target navy stripe maxi skirt mum style | awayfromblue

navy stripes, Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: Kmart blue multi-colour beaded necklace
TeeJeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey

Why I wore it:

When I saw this tee in store I thought it was a very bright red, even though the tag says coral. I think the camera picks up the orange of it a bit more. It's such a vibrant colour, but in a basic v-neck tee it's still so easy to wear.

Paired with my striped maxi skirt and again the Rebecca Minkoff love bag, this was a simple and comfortable outfit. I've worn a very similar outfit before with a different red tee! Went to the playground and library with the boys and ran a few errands afterwards.

Why I wore it:

Again, repeating an outfit formula I loved and wearing the same thing a few days later just with different pieces. I stuck with the red and blue combo though!

It's not the first time I've worn this chambray maxi skirt with a red top. I had to double check in my blog archives that I hadn't worn this plain red tee with the maxi skirt before, it seems like such an obvious combination! I love the way this tee works with blue denim. A nice casual and comfortable outfit was needed for a quiet day, daycare drop off and working from home before doing the pickup.

The Rebecca Minkoff love bag is a classic and the structured shape dresses up a casual tee and maxi skirt outfit a little more.

How You Can Wear It:

Red and blue is a fun colour combination - and as you can see from the navy and coral and red and chambray outfits, it's something you can try in any shade! Wearing a maxi skirt instead of jeans is a good way to break out of a jeans and tee rut, while still having all the comfort and coverage of jeans.

  3. I love maxis! I've started wearing them so much during the summer - with a plain T-shirt or sleeveless shirt. They really make it look like you put effort into dressing (when you know you really didn't). I love both of yours - I have a patterned one and a plain one but nothing with any flare to it and I need to remedy that this summer (now, how to sneak one more thing into my closet....). That coral color is gorgeous! It's my favorite nail polish color for spring and summer. It changes color depending on what you wear with it and the lighting. It goes with reds and oranges and peaches and apricots (OK, now I'm getting hungry). And, of course, another of your amazing bags. I really love the size of this one and keep saying I'm going to be better about switching purses to suit my outfits (I buy a bag that goes with everything and that's it....I have others but I'm always afraid I'll leave something out that I really need (like my driver's license or tinted lip balm) so I just don't :(

  16. You know I love a maxi skirt, and you're looking great in these rich reds, Mica! The first outfit is my preference, as the tee looks like a better quality one; the second tee looks a little too droopy - maybe it's the arm length?

Have a fabulous weekend, my dear!

  25. Yes, the first tee does look more orange then red in the photograph. Sometimes camera picks up colours differently. Who knows maybe that is how they label colours in the store? Anyhow, you look lovely in that coral tee and striped maxi. I really like the second outfit with the longer orange tee and a denim maxi skirt.
