Orange and Blue Maxi Skirt and Denim Jacket Outfits

I really like orange and blue together, and recently ended up wearing the combination in both of these maxi skirt outfits.

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: double circle hammered pendant necklace
TeeCotton On The One fitted v tee in washed poolside blue
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Wanted something colourful and comfortable to wear for a busy day. While I was working from home this maxi skirt was comfortable, but with the blue tee also made for a very colourful outfit to ensure that my son could spot me in the crowd in the afternoon as he got an award at school.

With the blue and orange together, I wasn't sure what bag to wear and I thought I'd give this wine purple Chloe Paraty bag a try. I really liked the combination and I'll need to wear this bag with orange again in future!

Last worn: denim jacket, hammered circle necklace, blue tee, orange maxi skirt, Converse, Chloe purple Paraty bag.

Other ways to weardenim jacket and dress, blue tee and pink, orange maxi skirt and stripes, Converse and jeans, Chloe purple Paraty bag and denim skirt.

Perfect for pregnancydenim jacket in second trimester

What I wore:

JacketCotton On girlfriend denim jacket in whitehaven
Necklace: thrifted wood and marble bead thrifted necklace with white string
CamiNew Look orange strappy cami top
Skirt: Jeanswest Farrah blue tie dye maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

This maxi skirt was maybe not the best choice for a cooler day - I forgot how tall the slit was and the slight breeze made me a little chilled! This maxi skirt is really better for warmer days. It worked okay for a weekend day with a couple of errands and puppy training class for our recently adopted pup though, as I was mostly indoors thankfully.

Just like the outfit above, I really liked the bright orange with this lighter blue tie dye skirt. I definitely needed the denim jacket to cover up the spaghetti strap cami, and I thought the neutral white helped tone down the brightness of the orange. Along with the neutral accessories I chose as well, the pale necklace and the white converse and black Stella McCartney Falabella bag. I've worn this bag with the maxi skirt before and liked the combination then too.

Last worn: white denim jacket, beaded necklace, orange cami, tie dye maxi skirt, Converse (above), Stella McCartney Falabella.

Other ways to wearwhite denim jacket and dress, orange cami and shorts, tie dye maxi skirt and knit, Converse and dress, Stella McCartney Falabella and blazer.

Midi Skirts and Blazers

Dressing up my midi skirts for cooler autumn days and making them look a little more formal for work, just by adding a comfortable jersey blazer. While both these skirts and resulting outfits feel different, I really liked them both!

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper recycled metal turquoise tassel earring
Jacket: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
Necklace: navy and silver circle pendant tassel necklace
Cami: thrifted no label chambray tie strap cami
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

This was a busy but fun day at work - we had a big team lunch to attend, so while it was cooler on the commute I knew we would be enjoying the sun outside at lunchtime at an outdoor restaurant. This outfit was perfect, I didn't feel too cold, although I did end up keeping my blazer on both at lunch and at my desk. I really liked the navy blazer with the green broderie midi skirt, and the lighter blues of the turquoise tassel necklace, chambray cami and sky grey Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag.

With the navy blazer and the turquoise tassel earrings, this navy circle and tassel necklace seemed like a fun bit of matchy-matchy, even if the silver hardware was different from the gold on the mini MAC bag, it tied in with the res of my outfit well and I'm never one to shy away from mixing metals!

Last worn: navy blazer, turquoise tassel earrings, navy tassel necklace, chambray cami, broderie midi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC.

Other ways to wearnavy blazer and dress, chambray cami and jeans, broderie midi skirt in festive outfit, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC with orange.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted flat peach statement bead necklace
TankCle The Label Amelia tank in indigo
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

While this outfit didn't feel as coordinated as the one above, I still loved it! I was so pleased to show off to my stylish colleague that both my Stella McCartney Falabella bag and my leopard print skirt were from the opshop when she complimented them. Sadly she was only in Brisbane for a few days and didn't have time to shop, maybe next time she visits!

I'd planned to wear this grey blazer with the fun leopard print skirt and blue tank, but couldn't decide on a necklace that morning. In the end I went with this orange one for a pop of colour. With the neutral navy tank, grey blazer, black Stella McCartney Falabella bag and black Converse, I think an extra pop of colour was needed with this outfit, even though the skirt makes a statement on its own.

Orange and Animal Print Cami and Maxi Skirt Outfits

I've been wearing a lot of tees lately, so I got a couple of my pretty camis out to change it up a little. Paired both with maxi skirts for these orange and leopard print outfits, accessorised with my Chloe Ethel bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
CamiNew Look orange strappy cami top
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus wooden beaded bracelet stack
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun day! Went down the coast to spend some time at my parents, and then shopping at Costco with my mum and sister. It was the first time I've been there! We bought a lot, and the kids were delighted by all the different sample stations they got to eat at!

While a leopard print midi skirt seems like it would be a loud statement piece, this skirt never seems too "in-your-face" for me so I had fun pairing it with this bright orange cami and the statement beaded necklace and beaded bracelet stack. I did add some neutrals with the white Converse and the small Chloe Ethel bag, but leopard is pretty much a neutral on its own now!

Really enjoyed this outfit, it was fun shopping and getting lunch with the family.

Last worn: orange cami, beaded statement necklace, wooden bracelet stack, leopard print maxi skirt, white Converse, Chloe Ethel bag.

Other ways to wearorange cami and jeans, leopard print maxi skirt and red tee, white Converse and shorts, Chloe Ethel bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancywhite Converse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
CamiKmart Anko leopard print cami
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

I really liked the outfit above, so I flipped it around a little but followed the same outfit formula for this. Animal print cami this time and an orange maxi skirt. I keep calling this a leopard print cami even though it's clearly cheetah print. It was the perfect printed piece with this block colour rust maxi skirt. Again I wore my Chloe Ethel bag - the 'light khaki' colour is a very light one and I treat it as a neutral.

With the gold hardware on the Chloe Ethel bag and the bold combination of animal print and leopard, I kept the rest of my accessories simple with the tan slides and gold necklace and earrings.

Wore this out to an event at the library. I did feel a bit overdressed in this though, and didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first outfit. I think it seemed a little more dressed up than a plain tee and maxi skirt outfit. I did like it, just maybe should have worn it for a different day.

Black And Leopard Maxi Skirt And Blazer Outfits

Sticking again to an easy repeatable outfit formula with leopard print, camis, ruffle hem skirts and blazers for some casual office wear. Both outfits accessorised with my little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag.

What I wore:

Jacketthrifted Zara black blazer
Necklace: Colette marble and gold pendant drop long necklace
CamiNew Look black cross over back strappy cami top
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

My sister gave me this pretty black cross back cami from a wardrobe clear-out she had just before Christmas. I have the same one in orange, so of course I was happy to take this black version off her hands! With the cross over straps on the back and the spaghetti straps I definitely needed to cover this up in the office so I added this comfortable jersey blazer. This leopard print maxi was an opshop find and I've been wearing it fairly often since I thrifted it. It fits in perfectly with the very casual business casual outfits around the office lately, especially with the blazer to dress it up.

With the little lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag I added a touch more gold and purple with this marble necklace which I thought was a good pop against all the black.

Last worn: black blazer, marble necklace, leopard print midi skirt, Converse, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag. First time I've worn the cami as it's from my sister's wardrobe.

Other ways to wearblack blazer and jeans, leopard print midi skirt and red tee, Converse and shorts, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag and dress.

Perfect for pregnancy: black blazer in third trimesterConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
TopKmart Anko leopard print cami
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

A very similar outfit to the one above, this time around with a grey blazer and a leopard print cami and black maxi skirt. This skirt felt like it was overdue another wear, and being a very similar shape to the leopard print one I wore above I figured I'd give it a try with a blazer for the office too. I really liked this outfit! The leopard print cami is a fun one and I just added a neutral navy necklace to let the cami and the lilac bag be the focus points of my outfit.

Last worn: grey jersey blazer, heart stud earrings, navy flat beaded necklace, leopard print cami, black maxi skirt, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag (above).

Other ways to weargrey jersey blazer and dress, leopard print cami and tie-dye, black maxi skirt and leather jacket, Adidas Superstar sneakers and dress, Polene Numero Neuf mini bag and shorts.

Skinny Jeans, Collarless Jackets, And Mulberry Bayswater | Weekday Wear Link Up

Skinny jeans and collarless jackets for the office with my Mulberry Bayswater tote bag. This Mulberry classic Bayswater tote was a staple of office life before 2020, but it hasn't been worn much since. It was good to get it out again, even if I don't carry much to the office to need such a big bag.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Dixie collarless jacket
Necklace: thrifted yellow beaded statement pendant long necklace
Cami: thrifted Kmart dusty rose cami
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesWalnut Melbourne Ava white leopard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
BagMulberry Bayswater in Oak NVT leather

Why I wore it:

This was a very fun day at work - although maybe not the best day to wear so much black. We had visiting puppies who were up for adoption and if Cooper wasn't best suited to be a solo dog I would have filled in quite a few adoption requests! I had a lot of fun patting all the cute pups, even if I was constantly finding dog hair on my jeans after!

I've worn this dusky pink cami with black jeans before, I really like the combination. I felt that the tweed collarless jacket and the leopard print ballet flats made this a little more dressed up for the day in the office, even though I didn't have to be too formal because of the puppies!

Last worn: tweed jacket, yellow necklace, pink cami, Nobody denim skinny jeans, leopard print flats, Mulberry Bayswater tote bag.

Other ways to weartweed jacket and pencil skirt, pink cami and denim skirt, Nobody denim skinny jeans and printed top, leopard print flats and wrap dress, Mulberry Bayswater tote bag and florals.

Perfect for pregnancytweed jacket in second trimester, Mulberry Bayswater tote bag in third trimester.

What I wore:

JacketDiane Von Furstenberg Gabrielle boxy floral jacket in garden green (via Sheila's wardrobe)
Earrings: Colette silver filigree leaf diamante statement earrings
Tank: Kmart linen blend textured black tank
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesWalnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs black leather Swarovski beaded wrap bracelet
BagMulberry Bayswater in Oak NVT leather

Why I wore it:

I don't think the oak leather of the Mulberry classic bayswater went as well in this outfit as it did with the black and pink above, but it did make this outfit feel more formal for work. With the grey jeans and the black linen blend tank and black ballet flats, again this was quite a neutral outfit. So I got this pretty green silk jacket out again, it was one Sheila gave me a while back. With the collarless jacket and the v-neckline of the tank I had such a hard time picking a necklace for hit outfit - nothing seemed to go right! In the end I decided on these big silver leaf earrings so I didn't have to worry about a necklace.

I did like this outfit, but think maybe darker jeans or a darker bag would have worked better.

Black Toppers, White Jeans, Teal Love Too Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

More jeans and sneakers outfits for the office for today's Weekday Wear Link Up. Wearing each pair of white jeans with a black cover up, block-colour top and my little teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Dotti black cocoon cape cardigan
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Cami: H&M mint v-neck cami
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

As it was a warmer spring day I didn't know if this cocoon cardigan would be too warm - but it was just perfect for the cooler commute to and from the office. Didn't need it over the mint cami at lunch time, but it was great for wearing in the airconed office.

I liked the white jeans with the mint cami and the black cardigan, and with the matchy-matchy navy of the necklace against the deep teal of the Love Too bag this was such an easy outfit to pull together for work.

Last worn: cocoon cardigan, mint cami, navy necklace, white skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to wearcocoon cardigan and printed jeans, mint cami and skirt, white skinny jeans and sequins, Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Vickie button back tank in enamel blue
Jeans: thrifted Atmos&Here white straight leg jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

I didn't love this outfit as much as the one above, even though it follows a very similar outfit formula with the block colour top, white jeans, sneakers and black cover up. I loved the striped cover up with the black necklace against the turquoise tank, such a great piece of matchy-matchy.

I was quickly reminded of the reason this tank doesn't get a lot of wear though - it crinkles up so easily! By the end of the day at work I was feeling a bit of a flustered mess, and my outfit seemed to reflect that. I do love this top but hate how quickly wrinkled it gets! Especially with the straight leg jeans, this didn't feel as polished as the outfit above. Definitely won't be wearing these pieces together again.

Last worn: striped cardigan, black statement necklace, turquoise tank, white jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to wearstriped cardigan for long haul flight, turquoise tank and pencil skirt, white jeans and knit, Adidas Superstar sneakers and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and maxi dress.

Perfect for pregnancystriped cardigan in second trimester.

Dusters and Denim With Blue Bags | Weekday Wear Link Up

I've been wearing a lot of jeans now winter weather has arrived in Brisbane! We have been lucky to have some warmer winter days though, so all I needed to add to each of these outfits was a lightweight printed duster.

What I wore:

green floral duster souble denim skinny jeans converse chambray cami | awayfromblue

greenf loral duster with Rebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Jeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
Necklace: thrifted wooden geometric bead necklace
Top: thrifted no label chambray tie strap cami
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

I like blue and green together, so with this green floral duster I added all the blue! With the light chambray cami, to the blue Converse, blue mini MAC bag and of course the navy in the necklace. While the darker navy and greens in the necklace don't match the rest of the shades in the outfit, I thought they complimented it well.

And being a slightly colder start to the morning, I pulled out another pair of black jeans! This faded black pair I thrifted a while back have been such a staple for me - I'm to thankful to whoever donated them, as I've certainly got good value for money from this $1 thrift find. Nice and comfortable for the school run, working from home, and then a few errands after school pick up in the afternoon.

My Blue Handbag Collection:

What I wore:

striped duster, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather | awayfromtheblue

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Cami: thrifted Kmart dusty rose cami
JeansNobody Denim Siren skinny super high-rise jeans in power black denim (c/o)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Again, the navy necklace doesn't really match the teal of the croc embossed Love too bag, but I really liked the two accessories together! This black striped duster is a polyester knit so it's perfect for winter days as it keeps me very warm, even over just a simple cami like this. I thought the cami would be a good pairing with the black and white stripes. I've worn a lot of pink with it in the past althoguh this is the first time I've tried this dusty pink shade. I really liked the combination, I thought the pink cami added a nice bit of colour to the darker accessories and the black and white of the striped duster, black jeans, and Converse.

This was a busy day, with the dentist in the morning for me and then a kid's birthday party to attend in the afternoon. Not an ideal combination of events - a partially numb mouth at the party was not so fun for me! The kids all had fun which is the most important thing, and it was good the party could go on (after already being postponed while the birthday child recovered from being sick).

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

Camis and Maxi Skirts With Chloe Marcie Bag

Two maxi skirt outfits I recently wore for a couple of different days. Both outfits feature pre-loved pieces, with lucky opshop finds and this Chloe Marcie I scored preloved on eBay last year.

What I wore:

blue and orange outfit with chambray cami ochre maxi skirt chloe marcie shoulder bag | awayfromblue

chambray cami, Chloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut | awayfromblue

Earrings: Piper gold and turquoise disc dangle earring
Necklace: rose gold and turquoise beaded necklace
Top: thrifted no label chambray tie strap cami
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

I loved this outfit! We had a birthday party at an indoor play area to attend, and it was such a hot and humid day I was glad we were just going from one aircon at home to the aircon at the party! Still wore some nice light pieces, with this thrifted ochre maxi skirt complimenting the blue of this chambray cami perfectly. It was good to finally get a photo without covering up the straps on this cami too, I really like the cute tie detail, even if one of the bows I tied kept coming undone every time I shoved the Marcie bag on my shoulder!

Needed the big Chloe Marcie bag for the kids water bottles though, there were so active for the whole party and needed a lot of water, especially as the aircon wasn't working properly at the venue. Or maybe the day was just too hot for it. I was glad I hadn't added an extra layer over my shoulders with this outfit!

I really liked the matchy-matchy of the accessories with the turquoise and gold statement earrings and the beaded necklace together, I'm going to have to repeat this combination of accessories again!

Last worn: statement earrings, chambray cami, beaded necklace, ochre maxi skirt, Havaianas, Chloe Marcie shoulder bag.

Other ways to wearchambray cami and denim, ochre maxi skirt in winter, Chloe Marcie shoulder bag and floral maxi dress.

My Chloe Handbag Collection: Past & Present

What I wore:

Necklace: Kmart blue multi-colour beaded necklace
Top: thrifted Kmart dusty rose cami
Skirt: Ally Fashion blue border print floral maxi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

Another hot and humid day, so again a simple cami and a maxi skirt. This maxi skirt has some lovely slits up the side that allowed for the breeze to cool me down a bit on the school run, which was much appreciated.

The pinks in the cami top and the floral print of the maxi skirt are quite different. I thought that they still worked together though, especially with the blue beaded necklace matching the different blues in the print nicely.

Again I had my big Chloe Marcie shoulder bag. It was a standard weekday with the school drop off, and working from home for me before school pickup in the afternoon, but we also had an appointment for my son in the afternoon so I needed a big bag to carry his water bottle around for that too.

Last worn: dusty pink cami, wooden bead necklace, floral maxi skirtHavaianas (above), Chloe Marcie shoulder bag (above).

Other ways to weardusty pink cami and shorts, floral maxi skirt and purpleChloe Marcie shoulder bag and jeans.
