Maxi Skirts With Colourful Tees and Matching Bags

Making the most of some very quiet days in the office lately with just a couple of my team members to wear these simple maxi skirts and plain tee outfits. I did add some big statement necklaces to try dress up the tees a little, and had a little bit of matchy-matchy with my accessories, wearing bags in similar colours to the tees in each outfit.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
Tee:  thrifted Target crew neck tee coral red
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus black beaded bracelet stack and red beaded bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

Why I wore it:

This was one of those days where nothing goes to plan, starting off with being late in the morning! Always the worst and meant I was rushing into the office after school drop off. At least I'd planned my outfit the night before so it was easy to throw on and go in the morning.

Felt this black maxi skirt was due another wear. I see a lot more maxi skirts and dresses in the office than I ever did pre-pandemic, and I love it! With the plain black maxi skirt I added more colour with the coral tee, and then stuck with the red theme adding this burgundy beaded multi strand necklace and the little burgundy Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag. Added yet another shade of red with the red beaded bracelet in my bracelet stack too. Even though none of the shades of reds match exactly, I really liked them all together in this outfit.

Last worn: coral tee, multi strand necklace, black maxi skirt, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearcoral tee and jeans, black maxi skirt and leather jacket, black Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag and floral dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton On The one crew tee in green
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

Another quiet day in the office - although I wasn't running late and rushing around on this day and it went a whole lot better! Since I liked the outfit above so much, I did the next best thing for this office day and wore the same outfit formula with different pieces. Repeating an outfit formula is something I like to do a lot, less effort than thinking up a whole new outfit!

This leopard print maxi skirt has been a firm favourite since I thrifted it and I thought I'd try pair it with green for something a little different. This green crew neck tee is an opshop find too! And while not the perfect match with the green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag I did like the different shades of green together.

As in the outfit above, I added the big wooden multi strand statement necklace to try make this a little more dressed up for the office.

Last worn: green crew neck tee, black statement necklace, leopard print maxi skirt, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag.

Other ways to weargreen crew neck tee and pencil skirt, leopard print maxi skirt with red, Adidas Superstar sneakers and dress, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and jeans.

Kmart Printed Culotte Shorts With Red Tees

Wearing my two pairs of Kmart printed culotte shorts with some red tees for hot and humid days at the end of summer in Brisbane.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold and pastel blue beaded necklace with grey string
TeeCotton On The One sangria v-neck tee
Shorts: Kmart culotte short in navy lemon print
Shoes: black matte slim Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

Wore this to start our long holiday weekend with family on Tangalooma Resort (on Mulgumpin island). I had my big Louis Vuitton Neverfull tote as it's both a good beach bag and a great travel bag! It easily fit some snacks, bottles of water, and activities for the ferry ride over to entertain the kids and I, and it meant I didn't need another bag for day to day beach life.

We left early morning and got to enjoy the beach and pools before dinner. It was a busy day of travel but so relaxing once we got the resort on the island. Last time I stayed at Tangalooma was for our honeymoon, so it was great spending time there again. The kids loved it, really should have taken them sooner!

While there is no red in the print of these culotte shorts, I thought the red and navy combination was nice and colourful, and this was a comfortable outfit for our trip.

Last worn: red tee, blue necklace, navy printed culotte shorts, Havaianas, Louis Vuitton Neverfull.

Other ways to wearred tee and turquoise, navy printed culotte shorts and cardiganLouis Vuitton Neverfull worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyLouis Vuitton Neverfull at 38 weeks.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted metallic clay bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Target crew neck tee coral red
Shorts: thrifted Kmart pastel soft culotte shorts in floral print
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus thrifted cream resin bangle duo set and Polka Luka red resin bangle
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

While the outfit above is all things bought new, this outfit is mostly thrifted, except for the sneakers! The coral red tee, beaded necklace, pastel print culotte shorts, resin bracelets and Stella McCartney Falabella bag are all opshop finds.

Just like the outfit above, this shorts and tee outfit was super comfortable. Stayed in Brisbane with this though, no exciting trips, as I was working from home and had the school run. Needed the navy Sketchers sneakers as I'd injured my knee on our holiday, and needed the extra support.

I liked the washed coral tee with this - there is a little rust in the print on these culotte shorts and while the red tee and the red resin bangle aren't an exact shade match, I thought the pieces complimented each other nicely.

Last worn: coral tee, statement beaded necklace, resin bangles, pastel print culotte shorts, Sketchers, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearcoral tee and skirt, pastel print culotte shorts and cardigan, Sketchers and graphic tee, Stella McCartney Falabella bag and maxi dress.

Magnificent 8: Lunar New Year - Year Of The Dragon

For our first Magnificent 8 style post for 2024, we are doing Lunar New year! 2024 is the year of the dragon. And a fun way to theme our first collaboration post of the year.

While the luckiest colours to wear for Lunar new year depend on your Chinese zodiac sign, red and gold are common colours to wear to welcome in the new year, so I put together some red and gold outfits to meet the theme. Neither of these outfits I will be wearing to celebrate Lunar new year (we have a big traditional feast for Lunar new year, cooked by my Asian in-laws). While they are not the ones I am planning to wear, they would definitely both work for Lunar new year!

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
Dress: Kmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff micro Regan satchel in Harvest Gold

Why I wore it:

This was another wet and humid summer day! We'd thought about going to the beach but the weather put an end to that when the rain set in for the morning. In the end we headed to a local indoor pool to splash around a bit instead. This Kmart coral tiered maxi dress is a nice shade of red and a great cover up for my swimmers. I had the big swim bag with everyone's change of clothes and towels, so just needed a little crossbody bag for my essentials like keys and phone. This micro Regan bag was perfect for it, and worked well when I ran a few errands before our swim too.

I like the mustard yellow with the coral red of the dress, and the official name for the colour is 'harvest gold' so I felt it met our theme well. The gold circle necklace added a little more gold as well.

Last worn: tiered midi dress, gold circle necklace, tan slides, Rebecca Minkoff micro Regan bag.

Other ways to weartiered midi dress for Christmas, tan slides and printed dressmustard micro Regan bag worn 30 ways.

What I wore:

JacketLocal Women's Handicrafts gold and burgundy silk kimono
Necklace: double circle hammered pendant necklace
Tee: Cotton On The One sangria v-neck tee (Christmas present)
Shorts: thrifted Kmart turquoise linen shorts
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
Bagvintage original Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip in faded electric blue

Why I wore it:

I actually considered wearing this tee to celebrate Lunar new year with the family! I got it for Christmas and it's the perfect deep shade of red, and with the red and gold cover up it seemed perfectly themed for the occasion. I've decided on another outfit, but figured I'd still give this one a wear. Rather than black or white denim shorts I went with these turquoise linen ones, just because black and white aren't as good colours to wear to usher in the new year.

I added my little blue Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag for the same reason - more blue! And my comfortable Kmart tan slides which have almost never been off my feet since I unwrapped them on Christmas day!

This was a nice and comfortable shorts and tee outfit for a playdate. I added the gold necklace for a bit of matchy-matchy with the print on the cover up, and because it meets the Lunar new year theme.

Last worn: silk cover up, double pendant necklace, turquoise shorts, tan slides (above), Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag. First time I've worn the red tee as it was a Christmas present.

Other ways to wear: silk cover up and white shorts, turquoise shorts and band tee, tan slides and dress, Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag and denim.

Red and Green Midi Skirt and Tee Outfits For The Office

Wore both of these outfits back in December before finishing up work for the Christmas holidays. Both are simple tee and midi skirt outfits, with a bit of red and green for some December festivity.

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
NecklaceStarfish Project Hannah turquoise bead necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus wooden beaded bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

Red and leopard together is always a winner! I liked this coral tee with the green accessories too, with both the beaded necklace and the little green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag, it was perfectly festive for Christmas without feeling like too much. It was pretty quiet in the office, with lots of leave starting already, so this was nice and comfortable for a day at my desk. This midi skirt has become a frequent go-to for me for work after I thrifted it back in October. Pre-pandemic I would have thought it a little too casual for the office, but my already business casual office culture has become even more relaxed since we started popping back into the office again.

Did think of trying to dress this up a little with ballet flats rather than Converse, but again went for comfort with the Converse.

Last worn: earringscoral tee, green necklace, leopard print midi skirt, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag.

Other ways to wearcoral tee and maxi skirt, leopard print midi skirt and metallic tank, Converse and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag with orange skirt.

What I wore:

Necklace: Red multi strand beaded statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in black
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Hermes Kelly double tour bracelet in rubis
BagRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red

Why I wore it:

This was my last day in the office and last day at work for the year before starting my summer break so I just had to wear this pretty broderie anglaise midi skirt. Mum got it for me for Christmas on our annual pre-Christmas shopping trip but I wanted to start wearing it early - I knew it would be great for this last day at work for the year, and I wore it to the White Christmas night at Movieworld too. I'm excited to wear this outside of December and make it work year-round, but for this outfit I leaned into it and added some red accessories to make it more festive.

While the little red studded saddle bag and the red multi strand statement necklace and red bracelet stack are different shades of red, I think they worked well together and of course the black tee goes with everything. I did add a little extra matchy-matchy by wearing my black converse with this too.

To make things even more festive, I walked around the office in a Santa hat as well!

Last worn: black tee, red statement necklace, Converse (above), red studded saddle bag. First time I've shared the skirt on the blog as it's as recent gift.

Other ways to wearblack tee and shorts, Converse and pencil skirtRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag worn 30 ways.

White Denim and Blazers In The Office | Weekday Wear Link Up

Dressing up some casual white denim, Converse and tee outfits for the office with blazers. The perfect topper to make any outfit feel more pulled together for work.

What I wore:

Jacketthrifted Zara black blazer
Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive black wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Target crew neck tee washed coral red
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

I like red and black together and I think the muted coral red of this tee works really well with the black jersey blazer and the black Stella McCartney Falabella bag. The black beaded statement necklace made it a little more matchy-matchy too, as did the white Converse with the white skinny jeans.

Last worn: black blazer, black beaded statement necklace, coral tee, white skinny jeans, white Converse, Stella McCartney Falabella bag.

Other ways to wearblack blazer and skirt, coral tee and leopard print, white skinny jeans and sequins, white Converse and pencil skirt, Stella McCartney Falabella bag with black tee.

Perfect for pregnancyjersey blazer in third trimester, Converse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Nadine 3/4 sleeve dusky pink blazer
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Marcs navy lurex detail foil tee
Skirt: Target classic denim skirt in white
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Another day for white denim in the office, this time my white denim skirt. Paired with this cute thrifted tee, which is navy with some sparkle thread running through it. Sadly the sparkle never translates well in photos!

Again I went a little matchy-matchy, wearing black Converse with the black Stella McCartney bag. The blush necklace and the blush blazer are another good bit of matchy-matchy too.

I really liked the colours in this outfit together, but even the light fabric of this blazer was a bit much when the day warmed up, one of those Brisbane spring days that felt like a summer heatwave.

Plain Tees and Leopard Print With Falabella Bag

Wearing a couple of thrifted tees with some leopard print pieces, I really have been loving leopard print this spring!

What I wore:

Tee: thrifted Target crew neck tee washed coral red
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Stella McCartney Falabella fold-over tote in midnight black

Why I wore it:

Everything in this outfit except the Havaianas was an opshop find! Although the necklace is navy and the Falabella bag is black I thought they were nice accessories with the leopard print midi skirt and the coral tee. I really like red and leopard together!

Easy outfit for a hot day, working from home and doing the school run.

Last wornnavy flat beaded necklace, leopard print midi skirt, Havaianas, Stella McCartney Falabella. First time I've worn the tee as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearleopard print midi skirt with navy, Stella McCartney Falabella and shorts.

Why I wore it:

Simple jeans and tee outfit for a busy weekend with a bit of Christmas shopping and a few errands. I like this black tee with the pink leopard print jeans, I've tried a lot with these jeans, as they are nearly at 30 wears, but plain tees like this are always my favourite. I went a little matchy-matchy with the blush necklace to match the print and the black Falabella bag with the black tee.

Last worn: black H&M tee, blush wooden necklace, pink leopard jeans, black Havaianas, Stella McCartney Falabella (above).

Red and Black Tee and Denim Outfits With Printed Cover Ups

Two outfits both featuring black and red, with tees, denim and printed cover ups for a few days with the kids recently.

What I wore:

JacketThe Kindness Kimono 'Dream Catch Me' print
Necklace: thrifted wooden yellow tassel necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee (new purchase)
Shorts: thrifted red denim shorts (new purchase)
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus black and gold beaded bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

This was a really fun day! For the Ekka holiday we had a quiet one and attend a local nature walk. It was so nice getting out in the warm weather, and the kids learned a lot and had so much fun spotting different creatures as we hiked. We treated ourselves to some ice cream after too.

I wanted to wear my new shorts right away. I thrifted these recently, and I paired them with another opshop find, this black tee. A nice basic outfit for a bit of walking, and I added the printed cover up and the yellow tassel necklace to add a little more colour.

As I was carrying a camera and our water bottles, needed the large capacity of this Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.

Last worn: printed cover up, tassel necklace, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote. first time I've worn the tee and the shorts as they are recent purchases.

Other ways to wearprinted cover up and dress, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote and midi dress.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On Alana Wanderlust kimono in floral mood indigo
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Emma woven trim tee in terracotta
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Julian nylon backpack in bright blue

Why I wore it:

This should have been a shorts day! We decided to bike to a local festival expecting traffic to be really bad, which it was. Unfortunately the day was much warmer than I expected, so the jeans I'd thought were such a good choice in the morning I quickly regretted by lunch time. I got a flat tire on my bike too which made the trip home very painful for my knee.

We did have a fun day apart from my small downsides though! The kids enjoyed a few rides and it was good to get out on our bikes. I liked the bright red and blue combination of this outfit, the tee and cover up is a combination I've worn before. I tried a little matchy-matchy with the navy necklace, blue floral print cover up, and cobalt backpack. The backpack was the obvious choice for the bike ride, and really useful. Just a shame I had nothing in it to fix a flat tire!

Last worn: blue floral print cover up, red tee, navy necklace, faded black skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers (above), Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack.

Other ways to wearblue floral print cover up and pink shorts, red tee and maxi skirt, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack and dress.

Red Tees With Black, White and Grey | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up I'm sharing more dark denim outfits I wore recently. I added a little colour with a couple of red tees, and extra interest with some black and white prints.

What I wore:

Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere with stripes | awayfromblue

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: thrifted gold large double circle necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

Skinny jeans, tee and a duster (particularly this black and white stripe duster!) has been a staple for me over the past couple of weeks, so it was the obvious choice for a day off work where I got to tag along as parent helper on my son's school excursion.

I needed something practical and easy to clean so these jeans were perfect, as was the Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere bag. I love that it's waterproof, perfect for running around with a class on kids on a rather messy field trip. It nicely fit inside some lunch and a water bottle for myself too.

While the official colour name of this tee is coral, it's a really red based version of the shade, and I liked how it lightened up this outfit with all the neutrals.

Last worn: black and white striped duster, gold circle necklace, coral tee, grey skinny jeans, Converse, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere.

Other ways to wearblack and white striped duster and skirt, coral tee and shorts, grey skinny jeans worn 30 ways, Converse and midi dress, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester, Louis Vuitton speedy bandouliere in third trimester.

What's In My Louis Vuitton Speedy Bandouliere:

What I wore:

Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere with leopard cardigan | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: thrifted no label black and white leopard print cardigan
NecklaceRoie Designs long freshwater pearl necklace with tassel
Tee: Jeanswest Emma woven trim tee in terracotta
JeansNobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagLouis Vuitton Damier Ebene 30 speedy bandouliere

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the red, black and white combination so much in the first outfit, I repeated it again a few days later, with a different red tee, and a leopard print cardigan instead of some stripes. This cardigan is the perfect light knit for keeping me warm in the colder morning school run, but not overheating in the afternoon, when we had a couple of errands to run after school pick up.

I went a little matchy-matchy with the pearl necklace and the Adidas Superstar sneakers matching the white in the cardigan. And although I didn't need to carry a lot with me on this day to work from home and do the school run, this Speedy bandouliere with the crossbody strap was so practical I wore it again.
