Tiered Denim Dresses With Pink Scarves And Bags

Sticking with easily repeatable outfit formulas again, pairing my two tiered denim dresses with pink scarves and Rebecca Minkoff bags recently.

What I wore:

Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl zesty stripe tassel scarf in pink
DressTarget puff sleeve tiered denim dress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff prune MAC with pom pom and tassel keychain

Why I wore it:

I really loved this outfit! It was perfect for winter as although my knees were bare the tall boots kept my legs warm, and with a slip under the denim dress and the pink striped scarf I was nice and cosy. The berry pink of the Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag doesn't match the colours in the scarf exactly, but I liked the two accessories together against the pale denim dress. Really need to wear this dress more, before it heats up too much for it!

This was a nice easy and colourful outfit for the school run and working from home.

Last worn: striped scarf, Target denim dress, knee high boots, Rebecca Minkoff berry MAC.

Other ways to wearstriped scarf and skirt, Target denim dress with redknee high boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff berry MAC and jeans.

What I wore:

Scarf: thrifted pink ombre tassel scarf
DressKmart denim short sleeve button front midi dress
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAC redyed with Angelus hot pink leather paint

Why I wore it:

First wearing of this denim tiered maxi dress my mum picked up for me when we were shopping at Kmart recently. It's a really thick and cosy denim, so I went bare armed for a morning in the sun taking part in a citizen science event with the kids. It warmed up quite a lot, after the fog of the morning lifted and I was considering removing the scarf. It was nice to have on in the air-conditioning in the afternoon though when we went to a kids birthday party.

I really like the ombre pink scarf with the pink Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag I redyed, even though just like in the outfit above the pink in the scarf and bag don't match exactly.

With the long line of this denim maxi dress I thought I'd try just a simple crossover scarf and leave it long and loose - something a little different but I liked the long line the scarf created with this dress.

Last worn: pink ombre scarf, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff redyed mini MAC bag. First time I've worn the dress as it's a recent wardrobe addition.

Other ways to wearpink ombre scarf and jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff redyed mini MAC bag with black and white outfit.

Layering Summer Pieces In Winter Outfits

I thrifted a few summer pieces at the opshop in July, back before the cold winter weather really hit in Brisbane. I was so eager to wear my new finds that I tried layering them up for winter on working from home days despite the colder temperatures.

What I wore:

JacketWittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacket
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt (new purchase)
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

I love the colour of this maxi skirt! It was new with tags so definitely worth the $7 I paid for the $89.99 RRP! It was marked as 'Sahara Red' but it's the perfect bold mix of red and orange and I'm excited to wear it again when the weather is warmer. I layered it up with a bright cobalt leather jacket for warmth, and then this also thrifted grey tunic tee for a nice neutral. I skipped the scarf as I felt warm enough with the jacket and long maxi skirt. I was working from home, with a little break for the school run and taking the pups to the vet.

Will definitely have to try this skirt with more blue again next time I wear it, I loved how the leather jacket popped against the bright skirt.

Last worn: cobalt leather jacket, grey tunic tee, terrazzo necklace, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag. First time I've worn the maxi skirt as it's a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearcobalt leather jacket worn 30 ways, grey tunic tee and denim, white Converse and jeans, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and blazer.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest navy suede moto zip jacket
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs bright blue stole
Dressthrifted no label blue checked smock sundress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Unlike the outfit above, I didn't enjoy this one as much. It looks nice, just wasn't very practical! This thin sundress needed a slip underneath, as well as fleece lined leggings, tall boots, my suede moto jacket and the big cobalt blanket scarf to make it cosy enough for the morning school run. It was certainly comfortable enough for working from home after too, before the school pick up in the afternoon.

However despite having the slip underneath it kept clinging to the leggings and riding up and I had to keep pulling it down, so frustrating to wear. I know I will enjoy this dress so much more when I can wear it with bare legs when it heats up again. Just not a good piece to try winterising. The much needed suede jacket also covered up the fun statement bell sleeves of the dress, so this will remain a firm warm weather only piece in my wardrobe!

Last worn: navy suede moto jacket, cobalt scarf, tall leather boots, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC. First time I've worn the dress as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearnavy suede moto jacket and printed jeans, cobalt scarf and grey dresstan boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC and maxi skirt.

Floral Dresses, Trench Coats And Purple Small Paraty Bag

Felt like I'd been wearing a lot of jeans this winter, so changed it up a little and layered these Kmart floral midi dresses with trench coats and tall boots for days in the office recently. Despite the different colours in the dresses, I wore my wine purple Chloe Paraty bag with both.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest Monica Mac coat in Indigo
NecklaceTiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Surprisingly the first time I've worn this teal dress with the purple Chloe Paraty bag before! I was sure this wasn't a new combination and one that I'd worn before, but a quick search through the blog proved otherwise.

I really liked the teal floral print with the purple bag, especially with the tall tan boots and the navy trench coat adding some neutrals.

Had a busy day with some time in the office then an appointment for my son after school pick up.

Last worn: navy trench, Tiffany necklace, teal floral midi dress, tan boots, Chloe purple Paraty bag.

Other ways to wearnavy trench and jeans, teal floral midi dress and leather jacket, tan boots worn 30 ways, Chloe purple Paraty bag and skirt.

What I wore:

Jacket: Barkins beige trench coat
Earrings: Piper gold and turquoise disc dangle earring
Dress: Kmart long sleeve black tie neck dress in floral wisteria print
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

Decided to tie the neckline on this pretty floral midi dress up, which meant I accessorised with some statement earrings as the bow at the neck didn't really need a necklace. I liked how the turquoise in the earrings is a close match to the blue in the print of the dress.

The tan trench coat and again the tall boots were definitely needed on this colder morning. It was an early start for a big day in the office, so a lack of sunlight for the photos sadly, hard to see how cute this dress looks belted!

Last worn: camel trench, statement earrings, black floral midi dress, tan boots (above), Chloe purple Paraty bag (above).

Other ways to wearcamel trench worn 30 ways, black floral midi dress and floral bag, tan boots worn 30 ways, Chloe purple Paraty bag and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancycamel trench coat in first trimester.

Stripe Dresses With Matching Scarves and Bags

With the cold winter weather in Brisbane lately (it's dropped down to 9 or 7 degrees Celsius some mornings!) I've gotten wear from some more winter pieces with these trench coats that are great for cold morning commutes. Wore them with some striped dresses as I felt I was wearing a lot of jeans and needed something a bit different.

With these neutral outfits I added colourful bags and coordinating scarves to brighten them up.

What I wore:

Jacket: Barkins beige trench coat
ScarfJeanswest Lucille golden yellow scarf
Earrings: gold pendant chandelier earrings
DressAtmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

It was good to get this trench coat out again! It's a favourite year after year. It's cosy and lined and perfect for a cold winter morning. I layered a slip under this navy stripe shift dress too, and some cosy fleece lined tights with the ankle boots to keep me warm.

With the dark navy and black stripes and the black tights and boots, I added more colour with the mustard scarf and the yellow Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5-zip bag. The scarf and bag aren't an exact match together but I still liked the two yellows against the neutral dress.

While it was a cold morning, it thankfully warmed up at lunch time. I was able to leave my jacket behind when I headed to a nearby restaurant, and still be warm enough. The trench was certainly back on for the afternoon commute home though!

Last worn: camel trench, mustard scarf, gold earrings, navy stripe dress, black ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5-zip bag.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Monica Mac coat in Indigo
ScarfFashion Scarf Girl colourful print scarf in green
Earrings: Lovisa mini mustard tassel earrings
Dress: thrifted Kmart white and navy long sleeve stripe tee dress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

I liked the outfit above so much that I created a very similar one with this other navy striped shift dress I have, this white and navy dress was an opshop find. Again I tried to coordinate my bag and scarf together, with this green mini 5 zip bag and the green shades in the printed scarf. I even added a little yellow into this outfit with the mustard tassel earrings to match the scarf print! Just like the outfit above, the colours in the accessories don't match exactly, but I really liked the combination.

With these tall leather boots and black leggings I was nice and cosy, and actually a bit too warm in the office! The navy trench coat was very much needed on both the commute into the office and home again in the afternoon though, and I was grateful for the warmth of it when we had a couple of errands to run after I picked the kids up from school in the afternoon too.

Last worn: navy Macintosh, mustard tassel earrings, green scarf, white stripe dress, tan boots, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag.

Other ways to wearnavy Macintosh and pencil skirt, green scarf and grey dress, white stripe dress and leather jacket, tan boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff green mini 5-zip bag and shorts.

Maxi Dresses, Denim Jackets, Scarves and Boots

June is the start of winter in Brisbane, and it's definitely brought some scarf weather along with it! It was good to get both of these heart print scarves out again, worn with denim jackets and my Kmart tiered midi dresses for some weekend birthday parties.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold heart and pearl earrings
Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl love heart print tassel scarf
Dress: Kmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day, with a birthday party in the morning and then Bonnie's puppy training class in the afternoon. While we were mostly indoors I wanted to be warm and cosy, so layered up this coral dress with the fun heart print tassel scarf. I really liked the scarf and dress together, even if the red in the scarf is a slightly different shade from the coral of the dress. I was sure I'd worn this scarf before but can't find it on the blog - it was one mum got me for Christmas, so surprised this is its first wear!

With the denim jacket and black ankle boots, this was nice and cosy for the day. I could fit a little extra than usual in the Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag too, perfect for extra training treats for Bonnie at the class, and I liked the matchy-matchy of it with the black ankle boots.

Last worn: heart earrings, denim jacket, coral midi dress, black ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid.

Other ways to weardenim jacket worn 30 ways, coral midi dress for Christmasblack ankle boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancydenim jacket in second trimester, black ankle boots in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On girlfriend denim jacket in whitehaven
Earrings: handmade pink star clay earrings made by my sister
ScarfStella McCartney heart print scarf
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Took another opportunity to wear the dress, denim jacket, heart scarf and boots combination I liked so much above, with this fuchsia pink tiered midi dress. We had another birthday party to attend and I probably overdressed for it - it was at the arcade so when I tried to jump on one of the arcade games with my son's friend I realised a midi dress was not the most practical for a motorbike race, ha!

I did really like this outfit though, the Stella McCartney scarf is a firm favourite of mine, I love big blanket scarves! And it was so cosy, especially with the tall tan boots. The Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag didn't match my boots like it did in the outfit above, but I did appreciate the way it matched the navy in the scarf and it easily held all the essentials plus water bottles for the party.

Last worn: star earrings, white denim jacket, Stella McCartney scarf, fuchsia pink midi dress, tan boots, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag (above).

Other ways to wearwhite denim jacket and skirt, Stella McCartney scarf and jeans, fuchsia pink midi dress with yellow, tan boots and striped dress, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and jeans.

Floral Print Dresses and Burgundy Crossbody Bag | Weekday wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, two floral dresses for the office, both accessorised with my little burgundy Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag.

What I wore:

Earrings: neutral clay disc earrings
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
DressShein navy flower print flowy dress (c/o)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

Why I wore it:

This was a warm spring day so I appreciated the swing style of this dress, it's great in the heat! It also however developed another split along the seams after wearing it all day. I have lost count of how many times I have had to repair this dress! It's leaving my wardrobe now, I am done constantly repairing the stitching. I have lost count of how many times I've patched or restitched it. This is it's 18th wear. I was really trying to reach 30 wears with it to prove you could do that even with a fast fashion brand like Shein, but the quality isn't there. Even though I got this dress back in 2018, so I'd expect it to be a little higher quality than anything available from that brand at the moment.

Annoying failure of stitching side, I did like this outfit. The burgundy Avery crossbody bag is so nice with the red print on the dress, and I liked the way the neutral earrings and necklace looked together. Just can't keep repairing this dress over and over, it's definitely done.

Last worn: navy floral swing dress, neutral disc earrings, beaded necklace, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff burgundy Avery crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearnavy floral swing dress and blazer, white Converse and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff burgundy Avery crossbody bag and matching jeans.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag in burgundy

Why I wore it:

This dress is only on it's 14th wear, but it's definitely going much stronger than the Shein dress above, as I haven't had to repair it at all yet. It was also only $12 at Kmart, so not exactly top of the range quality, ha! Kmart certainly isn't a trailblazer at paying a living wage to it's garment workers, but the company has been improving slightly to make some progress towards being more ethical (rating of 57 on ethical fashion guide). Shein on the other hand, doesn't even have a promise to work towards paying anyone in the supply chain a living wage. (Rating of 4/100)

I picked this dress to wear to work as it was another cool and rainy day. I added the boots too to be extra warm, although I regretted the decision in the afternoon. I left the office early to go see my sons get some awards at school, at which point the rain had stopped and the humidity was creeping up. I'd wished I hadn't worn the boots, as much as I'd loved them in the morning!

Tried something a little different with the burgundy bag with the teal floral dress. I've worn red bags with this dress before, so I knew I'd like these two colours together too.

Last worn: Kmart teal floral midi dress, silver personalised necklace, tall boots, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag (above).

Other ways to wearKmart teal floral midi dress worn 2 ways, tall boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff Avery crossbody bag and skirt.

Pink and Blazers For The Office | Weekday Wear Link Up

My office wear posts will start to become a regular fixture now I'm increasing the number of days I'm in the office! Still trying a few different outfit formulas for work, it's a strange mix at the moment in terms of what people are wearing. I feel I have even more flexibility than I did with the already very casual business casual dress code before 2020! Adding a blazer to these outfits made them feel perfect for a day at my desk.

What I wore:

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
NecklaceTiffany diamonds by the yard necklace
Dress: thrifted no label pastel floral print babydoll dress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

I could not resist this $1 dress on the rack at the opshop - such a cute pastel pink and peach floral print! It doesn't have a brand label so not sure where it was made, but it is a beautiful light viscose and I know it will get a lot of wear, especially in the warmer months. I made it more suitable for a winter office commute with a slip underneath, fleece-lined tights, tall boots and as it was a warmer morning, just a blazer over the top. I felt it helped make this casual baby doll floral dress more office ready.

Buttoning it all the way up and tying the neck tie helped make the dress look a little less casual too.

Last worn: grey blazer, Tiffany necklace, tan leather boots, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag. First time I've worn the dress as it was a recent purchase.

Other ways to weargrey blazer and jeanstan leather boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and leopard print.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
TeeCle The Label Charlotte tee in ombre rose (new purchase)
SkirtWarehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Another newly purchased pink piece worn to the office! It was a good first wearing of this tee, it's very comfortable. I thought that with the navy background on this jacquard pencil skirt that the navy blazer was the perfect match, although with the black fleece lined tights and black ankle boots, with the dark navy Cupid bag as well it made for a really dull outfit. The pink ombre tee brightened it up nicely, especially after I added to the matchy-matchy neutrals of this outfit with the navy beaded necklace too.

Pencil skirts used to be such a staple of my office style, but I haven't really been wearing them too much lately. I think they might get more wear when spring weather arrives, but I've already been looking at the pencil skirts in my wardrobe and considering downsizing.

Last worn: navy blazer, navy flat beaded necklace, jacquard pencil skirt, black ankle boots, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag (above). First time I've worn the ombre tee as it's a recent purchase.

Pink Tiered Dresses With Navy Suede Moto Jacket

Wearing this navy suede moto jacket as a cosy topper with these pink tiered dresses to make them a little warmer for winter.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest navy suede moto zip jacket
Necklace: gold beaded statement multi strand necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagChloe small Paddington in 2006 blanc

Why I wore it:

This was my outfit for the Barbie movie! It was so much fun, we went as a big group to the premiere at the local cinema, and I loved the movie. Of course we had to get dressed up in pink! I knew this dress would be the one I'd wear right away although I did have to wear a slip underneath and add the suede moto jacket and tall leather boots to keep me warm for the late night showing. This was a really quick outfit to get together when I got home from work before dashing out to the cinema.

I knew for the Barbie movie I'd need some fun accessories - with the big statement necklace and the statement padlock on my little Chloe Paddington bag I think they were perfect for the evening.

Last worn: navy suede moto jacket, Kmart fuchsia tiered midi dress, gold statement necklace, tan leather boots, Chloe small Paddington bag.

Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Dress: Orange Sherbet Zoe tiered dress in geranium print pink
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

I wore this for another morning at the local markets, selling more of my wardrobe. I ended up in a really good location under the shade, which made it a bit chilly, but meant I did manage to offload quite a few scarves, haha! I had a slip under this tiered maxi dress and I knew the suede jacket would keep me warm for the morning too. I had my comfortable Adidas Superstar sneakers for all the running around setting up and then dismantling my stall.

I did make a couple purchases from some other stalls with my takings - one particularly cute pair of earrings, but I'll need to make a note of the lady's business name next time I go back as I didn't write it down unfortunately. I did have a lot of success with my stall though, always good to make more space in my wardrobe!
