What I wore:
Scarf: Marc by Marc Jacobs bright blue stole
Tee: Atmos&Here navy stripe v-neck tee
Skirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Asos Cleo leather boots in tan
Bracelets: the usual plus pearl and rose gold bracelet stack
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki
Why I wore it:
I really like blue and orange together, and I love this ochre maxi skirt with stripes. It's not the first time I've worn this navy stripe tee with the orange skirt, but it is a bit more layered up this time than last time! It was a chilly morning for the school run. Although this cobalt scarf covers up most of the striped tee I really liked the different shades of blue together, especially with the dark denim jacket on top.Because this maxi skirt has side splits and I didn't want my legs to freeze I wore my leather knee high boots under this to keep cosy! It worked well.
I worked from home while the kids were in school and we stopped off at the park in the afternoon to grab a few more branches for our stick insect to eat. Ended up running into friends and the boys saw a few classmates there too, so we stayed for quite a while and I did wish I'd added leggings under the skirt when it started to get cooler in the afternoon. Luckily we weren't out for too long as we had to get back home to get ready for sports in the evening.
Last worn: denim jacket, cobalt scarf, navy stripe tee, ochre maxi skirt, tan boots, Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket worn 30 ways, cobalt scarf with red, navy stripe tee and shorts, ochre maxi skirt and band tee, tan boots worn 30 ways, Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki and dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: denim jacket in second trimester, navy stripe tee in third trimester.

Chloe Ethel Reveal:
What I wore:
Scarf: Alexander McQueen pink pashmina in skull and floral print
Tee: Atmos&Here oversized stripe tee
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
Shoes: RMK Chester black ankle boots
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki
Why I wore it:
Unlike the outfit above, with the black maxi skirt, pale denim jacket and grey striped tee this outfit was looking a bit bland. The pink and yellow Alexander McQueen skull scarf was the perfect pop of colour to brighten it up a bit! And I like how this reminds me of Sheila and her pink and yellow skull scarf, although hers is a different print she got lucky and found it second hand, I picked this up on sale.Again I went with boots, just ankle boots this time as the long ruffle hem on this skirt doesn't have any side splits. Was a nice comfortable outfit for a busy day with an appointment, a couple of errands, and a stop at the library for the kids and I to stock up on more books for the weekend.
Last worn: moto denim jacket, pink skull scarf, grey stripe tee, black maxi skirt, black ankle boots, Chloe Ethel (above).

Perfect for pregnancy: pink skull scarf in third trimester, grey stripe tee at 40 weeks, black ankle boots in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Maxi skirts can work on dry winter days with a few more layers! Try jackets, scarves and of course boots. For super cold winter days, you can add leggings underneath too!
I'm glad you were able to stay warm with lots of layers and some boots! That Alexander McQueen pink scarf is a really gorgeous piece! I just love the colour.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a fun bright pink!
DeleteLove the pop of pink in your last outfit. Hope you are having an awesome week.

I LOVE the Chloe bag with the first outfit - it goes SO well with the ochre skirt! Your layering is excellent - I've had that legging need too, in cold weather!
ReplyDeleteI had to peer closely at my screen, as I thought for a second that was the same McQueen scarf as mine! I love that we are now "scarf sisters"!
PS - I have started drawing roses on your bag!! It is looking cool! :)
Yes it's such a similar scarf, I love it as it makes me think of you now after your lucky find! :)
DeleteMaxi skirts are the perfect all-seasons garments, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI often wear mine with denim jackets ... in Summer :-)
As I too love blue and orange together, the first outfit is my favourite by far, but I appreciate the pop of pink from the Alexander McQueen scarf in the second outfit as well! xxx
I can't imagine denim jackets in the heat of summer here, haha! Maybe a colder summer day, but not normal temps!
DeleteOrange and blue is one of my favorite color combos. I'm wearing it right now.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a bright combination :)
DeleteSUPER COOL STUFF, YOU ARE VERY ELEGANT
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the addition of that bright pink scarf to the second outfit! It's gorgeous and brightens it up perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a fun way to brighten up an outfit for sure!
DeleteMe encanto la combinacion de colores del primer outfit, saludos:D
ReplyDeleteI never think of wearing my maxi skirts in the winter (or fall for that matter!). These are both such cute looks though I am drawn to that black and pink one. I just love that color combo!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to try wear them year-round here, even if they need a few more layers in winter!
DeleteLove these layered looks! The blue + orange is a wonderful take on the complementary color scheme.
ReplyDeletevery nice outfit, I adore the skirt color. You make me miss my ethel bag with this outfit, I left it behind during the relocation and it's now a part of my close friend's closet. I do think now that it might be a shame as I didn't fully used its potential.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your friend is loving it though and glad you gave it to them!
DeleteI love blue and orange together as well. I remember you like styling scarves and maxi skirts...super pretty!

ReplyDeleteLove the ochre skirt! Such a lovely colour! xx

While I always love your ochre maxi skirt (what a great color!!), the black maxi skirt looks extra cozy to me for some reason!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's the darker colour? They are both great skirts though :)
DeleteI love the idea of adding leggings under a maxi when it's cold Mica. You're always so impressive the way you wear maxis all year long.

Ooh, that orange skirt is beautiful! My alma mater's colors were orange and blue, and I could never get away with pairing them in my old home town without feeling like I was cheering on the home team. Here, though, no one would bat an eye. I think it might be time to revisit the combo!
