What I wore:
Scarf: thrifted checked purple pashmina scarf
Tee: thrifted Mix Apparel black marle tee
Jeans: Nobody Denim Cult high rise skinny ankle jeans in charred grey
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Chloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut
Why I wore it:
This was a bit of a dark outfit, but I picked everything deliberately to let the scarf be the pop of colour! I didn't really need the scarf during the day, I was just working from home, but I knew I'd appreciate the cosy pashmina in the evening when I went to a presentation by Justin Coulson (a parenting expert in Australia). It was nice to catch up with my friends kid-free although it was a little chilly so I was very glad I'd worn the scarf, with all the doors and windows open in the hall.Wasn't sure if the space dye tee was too patterned to wear with the checked scarf, but gave it a go anyway as I thought it was a bit more interesting than just a plain black tee. I loved the tonal grey and black outfit with the purple scarf, and the Chloe Marcie bag was big enough for all my essentials, a bottle of water, and the parenting books I bought from Justin after his talk!
Last worn: grey jersey blazer, black space dye tee, Nobody Denim charcoal jeans, Adidas Superstar, Chloe Marcie. First time I've worn the scarf as it was a summer opshop buy.
Other ways to wear: grey jersey blazer and dress, black space dye tee and printed skirt, Nobody Denim charcoal jeans worn 2 ways, Adidas Superstar and shorts, Chloe Marcie and skirt.

What I wore:
Scarf: thrifted no brand navy grid print scarf
Tee: thrifted Kmart space dye cream and black longline top
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Chloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut
Why I wore it:
My boss had a laugh at me all rugged up in this outfit when we had a video call. She's in another state and a much colder state so needing all the layers for 20 degree (Celsius) weather seemed a little overkill to her, ha! It was the first really cold weather in Brisbane for autumn though so I just wanted to be cosy!Like the outfit above, I wasn't sure if the space dye tee would work with the grid print on the scarf but I liked the combination, I think it went well with the space dye effect. With the blush blazer and the black jeans and brown Chloe Marcie bag though, this is a very different outfit from the one above, where it was much more tonal and monochrome except the scarf and bag. I did like it, pink and blue are always a winner and although this blazer is a lighter one it was just what I needed for the school run in the morning and afternoon with the scarf.
Last worn: blush blazer, white space dye tee, blue grid print scarf, faded black skinny jeans, Converse, Chloe Marcie (above).
Other ways to wear: blush blazer worn two ways, white space dye tee and shorts, blue grid print scarf and striped dress, faded black skinny jeans and floral print, Converse and dress, Chloe Marcie and printed dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester, blush blazer in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Blazers aren't just for the office! They can look great worn casually with jeans too, and a colourful scarf is always a good accessory.

I like your scarves, Mica. They seem warm and comfortable and I like the print and colours. It's very cold here in Sydney and the rain keeps coming in buckets. Hope you have a nice week ahead
ReplyDeleteIt turned into a cold and wet autumn really quickly here too!

haha yes I'm seeing people in Europe talking about how warm things are and it's colder than it is here when I'm all layered up - different climates for sure!
DeleteYour blazers look great with jeans!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I am so in love with that pashmina!:) Such a great score and I and I can totally understand why you want it to stand out, Mica:) Also love the space dye tees. I think they worked so well with the outfits.
ReplyDeletePS I also love that Chloe bag:D
PPS I LOLd when I read how you feel pressured to read all those books! I like borrowing from the library because it does make me read faster...hehe
Yes it's such a beautiful scarf! It's going to be worn a lot this autumn I can tell! I love having the book pressure as it makes me such a fast reader too, haha! Plus the boys and I can spend chunks of the weekend just reading next to each other, it's lovely!
DeleteBoth of your scarfs are so pretty! Love both of these looks!

That purple checked Pashmina is gorgeous, but the second outfit with its lighter colours is my favourite. The combo of the blush pink blazer and the blue grid-patterned scarf is just perfect! xxx

ReplyDeleteI like your subtle print mixing in both outfits! Scarves are the best accessory, I wear them a lot, too. They are instant outfit makers, especially in the cooler months. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteSo true they are my go-to in colder weather to add more colour and print!
DeleteHi!!

I pretty much live in jeans and blazers, but it's always kind of damp and chilly in San Francisco ;) Especially love the blush-colored blazer you're wearing in the 2nd outfit!

I'm trying to take advantage of the colder autumn weather and wear the combo as much as I can before it gets too cold, haha!

Your scarf selection is very chic! I have no opportunity to wear scarves here except for that one time I went up to the highland and was totally chilled to my bones and I nabbed my sister's scarf. You are lucky to have the cold weather to take advantage of these fun layered looks. :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes I'm glad I get to layer up with the change in seasons, it's nice to have more outfit options than in summer!
