Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
Top: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Skirt: Nobody Denim Piper vacation skirt in black distressed denim
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Balenciaga first bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
Cheating a little for the link up as this was a weekend outfit, but I would totally wear it on a weekday too! Dropped by the Glad Rags market that Claire organised, just intending to have a browse and support a friend. I ended up buying a cute striped dress I couldn't resist, and then I came across this authentic Chloe mini Paddington bag. Knew it had to be mine! Such a fun morning, even if I did have to run a few errands afterwards. As I was kid free (hubby took the kids to the playground) I made the most of it and wore this awesome yet delicate statement necklace - it doesn't survive well with kids tugging on it (it's snapped twice) but I've repaired it and it's too pretty not to wear. Took it off as soon as I got back home to the kids of course! Thought it would work well with the thrifted grey tunic, and it's the first wearing of this Nobody Denim Piper distressed denim skirt that I got on eBay. With the column of monochromatic colour with the grey and black together, this fun tropical floral print duster was a good way to add a little more colour to my outfit, as was the turquoise Balenciaga first bag.
Last worn: tropical floral duster, statement beaded necklace, grey tunic, Converse, Balenciaga Blue India first bag. First time I've worn the skirt as it was a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: tropical floral duster and Bermuda shorts, grey tunic and culottes, Converse and pencil skirt, Balenciaga Blue India first bag and blazer.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.

Skirt: JayJays distressed denim mini skirt
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Balenciaga first bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
Last time I wore this denim skirt I made a blue and green outfit and really liked it, so I tried it again with a blue tee this time and a green kimono. I think this outfit was missing a little something though. maybe a navy bag would have worked better. the Balenciaga first doesn't really pop with these colours, or maybe a brighter or longer statement necklace. I like this beaded necklace with this tee, it just didn't seem to add enough to the outfit. It was nice and comfortable but I feel looking at the pics it doesn't look as good as it could have. The kimono was a helpful addition for the hot day though! We had a couple of errands to run after the school drop off for my eldest and before sports for my youngest. At one of the stores I stopped at I picked up some decorations I'd been eyeing for a while. With self checkouts, even after I asked a sales assistant there was nothing they had at the checkout for me to use to wrap them with once I bought them. Took off my kimono and used that instead, just to get them home in one piece, haha! Unexpected benefit to a kimono!
Last worn: green floral print duster, blue tee, beaded necklace, distressed denim skirt, Adidas Superstar, Balenciaga turquoise first bag (above).
Other ways to wear: green floral print duster and jeans, blue tee and shorts, distressed denim skirt and green cami, Adidas Superstar and midi skirt, Balenciaga turquoise first bag and dress.

How You Can Wear It:
A monochromatic column of colour looks great with a printed duster on top, and suits warmer spring days.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked that outfit as I wasn't too sure it worked!
DeleteHey Mica, hope you're having an awesome month! How's everything?
ReplyDeleteI love the idea to find garments everywhere, from eBay to markets or in other's friends wardrobes! Congrats for being so conscious about your fashion purchases :) I think both skirts are great for spring summer and you can style it with almost any color!
Your proposal to attend the event is nice and effortless, I also liked the bag you picked! And the second one has that incredible kimono and a nice color palette that reminds me of long summer days!

Thanks Pablo! I've really been shopping second hand a lot more this year, it's been great for my wallet (and kinder to the environment!)

I've not heard the term dusters in connection with clothing before :) But your outfits look lovely - I know I keep saying this but I'm so envious you're heading into Spring/Summer, it's damp and chilly over here and I hate it!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just an Aussie word for a long kimono? I love them! It's been a wet spring so far here but luckily still warm!
DeleteLooking well put together as always Mica. I would LOVE to have a walk through your bag collection!!

Sorry you had technical issues!
DeleteI really like your kimonos.
ReplyDeleteKisses
I wish I could carry a smaller bag but it just doesn't hold enough 'stuff' that I carry with me!! You look so fashionable in your outfits!
ReplyDeleteI've really downsized how much stuff I carry over the years - first time I tried this bag in black it was too small for me so I gave it away to my sister! It's perfect for me now though so I had to get it back in my wardrobe, haha!
DeleteI am jealouse of the summery clothing you are wearing! It's so cold here......and it is'nt even freezing yet!
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautiful kimono and duster collection!

Love the both outfits, nice skirts and these floral dusters are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI really liked the first look, although in summer I don't wear such dark colors! The necklace was also a special touch! And in fact it's a novelty to see you like that with such a short skirt, you look like a girl!

It must have been lovely to enjoy the odd kid-free morning, and I'm glad to hear you did make the most of it. Two easy-going yet dressed-up outfits, and I'm having a hard time picking a favourite. In spite of being a fan of green, I'm going for the first one. That floral kimono is absolutely gorgeous and I'm loving the statement necklace! I hope your week went off to a good start Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteThe first one was my favourite too! :)
DeleteYou look great in both looks. Love the necklace.
ReplyDeleteI still really love that bag. It is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, it suits you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun outfit combination! I have a jean skirt that I haven't worn in ages and it never occurred to me to try it with a kimono. Definitely a must try! Also, how cool you scored a Chloe Paddington. It's so beautiful! I can't wait to see how you style it some more. Btw, I was finally able to link up again. For the longest time it gave me an error but I was today. So yay! I hope your week is off to a great start and happy Monday!

ReplyDeleteThe kimono is multi use ;)
ReplyDeleteYou denim skirts are so pretty! I love to wear denim skirts and this post reminded me to pull them out again. It's winter here though, so I'll have to implement a bit of layering...
ReplyDeleteThat was good thinking to use your kimono to get your purchases home safely. I probably wouldn't have thought of that :)
Ekaterina | Polar Bear Style
Yes the kimono came in helpful then! Hope you can layer up your skirts :)
DeleteI do love a duster or kimono I must take a look at your YouTube Mica xx
ReplyDeleteOh, I really like that blue and green look! What fun to be able to shop your sister's closet! And, a second use for a kimono! Who knew? I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!

ReplyDeleteDenim skirts are always a classic. Love how you've styled yours with your signature kimonos! And I have the black version of that Balenciaga bag—it's still so good!
ReplyDeleteCheryl Shops | www.cherylshops.net
It will forever be a classic I think!
DeleteI also like denim skirts but I hav not found one with the correct length. I would like one slightly longer than what you wore although you do look great with the shorter ones. Necklace should be a heirloom having been with you all theses years.
ReplyDeleteBoth necklaces are recent additions to my wardrobe actually! it's the bags that are oldies, being made over 15 years ago!
DeleteLooking lovely daer :-)

Both of these skirts are so cute on you! Love the new bag you got!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in those skirts....
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that you can not decorate for Christmas like you want to...My husband learned very early in our marriage that he was never going to tell me how I was going to decorate our home...Like My Dad used to tell my Mother, "I built the house, now it is up to up to do what you want with it"....He never said a word about what she did in our home so I am just used to that...My mother would ask him if he liked something she bought for the house and he would say, "as long as you like it, it is fine"
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Stay safe, healthy and happy
Hugs,
Debbie
I like the way your husband thinks, haha! Christmas just isn't a big deal to my hubby. His family don't really get into it like mine do sadly. I love it and all the decorations and buying gifts and cooking special treats, such a fun time of year!
DeleteSuch a lovely bag dear :-) It is good sometimes to be kids free and have a little while for yourself. I am sure that this dress and Chloe bag are nice :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week dear

Great post with nice outfits =)
I like the jackets, they are so colourful and look cute. The first outfit would be my favourite =)
Your outfits are both so cute, Mica, and what great finds you had at the market! I love that Chloe bag. Also - how funny that you used your kimono as a wrap/bag. Who knew they were so versatile?

Hi Micaaaaa
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say hello :) thank you for all your messages.
I'd say that's thinking on your feet wrapping your purchases in you kimono! I should revisit denim skirts again, maybe next summer. We had our first snowfall of the season this week, so we're a long way off from skirts here!
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of your week!
Both of those skirt outfits are super cute! Yay for mini skirts.

Great outfits with kimonos. They look great with denim skirts! I like the statement necklace in the first outfit. Lovely dark denim skirt as well. It's good you took advantage of your husband taking the kids to playground so that you could shop and wear that lovely necklace. I know that statement necklaces, bracelets and other pieces don't always get along well with kids (learned that the hard way a couple of times):)
ReplyDeleteYour second outfit in blue and green tones is so pretty. I like that kimono and how it matches the blue denim skirt.
How cool you used your kimono to wrap up decor/ present items and carry them home!
haha yes not all statement pieces, while pretty, work around kids for sure!
DeleteThanks all for your comments and for linking up!
