Orange Maxi Skirts, White Tees and Mimco Black Crossbody Bag

Another easy outfit formula repeated twice. Two orange maxi skirt outfits with white tees and my little black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
TeeAtmos & Here white essential v-neck tee
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Felt like it had been a while since I'd last worn this orange maxi skirt, so got it out again to wear to church. I liked the simple white tee with it, but felt it needed a little more and this statement beaded necklace was perfect. The burgundy and natural wood beads work so well with the ochre maxi skirt and look good against the plain white tee. I added simple sandals as it was a hot day, and my little black Mimco crossbody bag.

Last worn: white v-neck tee, statement beaded necklace, ochre maxi skirt, sandals, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearwhite v-neck tee and denim skirt, ochre maxi skirt and knit, sandals and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and jeans.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
TeeCotton On The One Deep V tee in marle nep white body black
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt
ShoesLes Tropeziennes Par M.Belarbi leopard print and gold leather sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the outfit above so much, I recreated it again following the same outfit formula, with this bright coral maxi skirt. It's a beautiful bright redish-orange in person and I love how colourful it is. It was NWT at the opshop for just $7 too, such a bargain! I wore my textured white tee with it to add a little more detail, but still added a statement necklace on top. This multi strand tassel one is nice and colourful.

Wore another pair of sandals as well. These ones, like the skirt and necklace, were an opshop find too. Good outfit for a day of working from home, doing the school run, and running a couple of errands. I didn't need to carry more than the essentials, so I wore my Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag again.

Last worn: white tee, statement necklace, colourful maxi skirt, leopard print sandals, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag (above).

Other ways to wearwhite tee and shorts, colourful maxi skirt and leather jacket, leopard print sandals and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and blazer.

Kmart Linen Shorts, Navy Tees and Printed Cover Ups

Pulled out my linen shorts for spring weekend days. Both these outfits feature the Kmart linen blend shorts I was lucky enough to stumble across in the opshop in two different colours, as well as different shades of blue and pink.

What I wore:

JacketThe Kindness Collective 'Kaleidoscope Dreams' printed kimono
NecklaceRoie Designs coral beaded tassel necklace
TeeAtmos & Here Avery marle tee in navy
Shorts: thrifted Kmart fuchsia linen blend shorts
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum

Why I wore it:

Blue, pink and purple is a trio I love to wear and I liked the different shades of it in this outfit, with the fuchsia shorts, navy tee and the navy and purple printed cover up with the plum purple mini MAB tote bag.

I picked this to wear for a warm yet windy day at the beachfront with my friend. We hadn't caught up in a while so it was good to take advantage of the weather and let the kids play in the water. The wading pool is nice shallow water and the boys spent most of their time there so I wore the shorts as I could stand in the pool with them if needed. And I like this navy tee with pink. The purple printed cover up was a must have for some extra sun protection, and then I added more purple with the plum mini MAB tote bag. While I had the big beach bag with towels, water bottles and beach toys, the mini MAB let me keep my phone and essentials close by as I wasn't swimming.

Last worn: purple printed cover up, beaded necklace, navy tee, fuchsia linen shorts, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff plum purple MAB.

Perfect for pregnancyRebecca Minkoff plum purple mini MAB tote bag in third trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Kmart blue and pink palm print cover up
Necklace: thrifted blue tone flat bead statement necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Sophie navy v-neck tee
Shorts: thrifted Kmart turquoise linen shorts
Shoes: thrifted Seed Heritage tan braided sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Another navy tee and linen shorts outfit, with this turquoise pair. I still added some pink to this outfit with the fun tropical palm print cover up. Once again I wore it for a little extra sun protection, as we had a picnic down the coast with family. It was another really nice warm day so the kids had a blast playing in the water as I sat around enjoying the good food and conversation while keeping an eye on them.

As I didn't need to carry much and I had all the bright colours in my outfit with the pink and turquoise already, I kept the bag simple and wore my little black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Last worn: palm print cover up, beaded necklace, navy tee, turquoise shorts, braided sandals, Mimco crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearpalm print cover up and skirt, navy tee and jeans, turquoise shorts and graphic tee, braided sandals and dress, Mimco crossbody bag and maxi skirt.

Skinny jeans, Black Tops and Blazers With Mimco Mim-mazing Crossbody Bag

Two colourful blazer outfits I wore with black tops, black bags, and jeans for office days recently.

What I wore:

Jacket: Glassons orange jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted bronze foil statement necklace
Tank: Kmart linen blend textured black tank
Jeans: Jeanswest Harper skinny pant in Russet
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

I really liked the colours in this outfit! With the black linen blend tank and the orange blazer this outfit it might have looked a little Halloween-ish. But the burgundy jeans break that association beautifully I thought. Even though it's spring here in Brisbane I really liked the autumn colours in this outfit and I'm going to have to wear red with this orange blazer more often!

Kept the accessories simple with my little black Mimco crossbody bag, Adidas Superstar sneakers and the foil necklace. Blazer and jeans makes for a great outfit for a day working in the office, and the bright colours in this really made me smile.

Last worn: orange blazer, foil necklace, linen blend tank, burgundy jeans, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearorange blazer and skirt, linen blend tank and green, burgundy jeans and graphic tee, Adidas Superstar sneakers and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and maxi skirt.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer
Necklace: Ruby Olive Art series long striped pod necklace
Tank: lace bib black swing tank from mum's wardrobe
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus black beaded bracelet stack and Roie Designs labradorite bracelets and pearl bracelets
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Another bright blazer. This blue one I thrifted a while back is such a fun pop of colour against black. To let the blazer be the statement piece in my outfit I kept the rest black and white, with this black lace tank, the white skinny jeans and white Converse. Again I wore the little black Mimco crossbody bag. I felt like I could still add a little extra colour in this outfit though, so went with this fun multi coloured statement piece.

I felt comfortable in this outfit. The bright blazer was professional but still fun as I had a massive presentation to give in the office. It went well, I got good feedback. And all the special pieces in this outfit (necklace from my bestie, my mum's tank and bracelets from my friend) helped give me a bit of a confidence boost for the presentation too.

Last worn: blue blazer, beaded necklace, lace tank, white jeans, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag (above).

Other ways to wearblue blazer and skirt, lace tank and leopard print, white jeans and cardigan, white Converse and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and maxi skirt .

Green and Black Jeans and Tee Outfits With Mimco Mim-Mazing Crossbody Bag

Two jeans and tee outfits I wore recently, both with green and black and accessorised with my little MIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag that's become a staple lately.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On black knit wrap cardigan
ScarfStella McCartney heart print scarf
Earring: thrifted Colette gold metal flower stud statement earrings
Tee: thrifted Cotton On The one crew tee in green
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a cold weekend morning at the local markets, selling a few more things from my wardrobe. I picked this thick black cardigan to wear as well as the big navy heart print blanket scarf so I'd be cosy as it was quite windy. Sadly not a lot of people at the markets because of the cold weather, but made a few sales and covered the cost of the stall which is always good.

I was nice and warm and comfortable too, although I did end up taking the big scarf off when I ran a couple of errands after the markets as it had warmed up nicely.

Last worn: black belted cardigan, green tee, statement earrings, Stella McCartney heart print scarf, coated denim jeans, black Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wear:  black belted cardigan and dress, green tee and skirt, Stella McCartney heart print scarf and stripes, coated denim jeans and jumper, black Converse and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancy: black belted cardigan and hidden baby bumpConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketRebecca Minkoff Ruana poncho
Necklace: thrifted mint silicone statement necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Even though this outfit has green and black like the outfit above, this felt much more colourful with the brighter green jeans. Surprisingly I haven't worn these jeans with the black and white knitted poncho before which is a surprise as every colour goes with black and white! Added the grey tee to balance out the bright jeans, and also as it was a good backdrop to show off this recently thrifted necklace. Didn't need a scarf for this as I was able to wrap myself up in this knit to stay warm - it really is like a big blanket!

Perfect outfit for working from home, the school run, and a quick errand after school pick up.

Last worn: Rebecca Minkoff knitted ruana, grey tunic tee, green jeans, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag (above). First time I've worn the necklace as it's a recent opshop find.

Printed Tanks, Black Jeans and Leather Jackets

Adding cosy winter layers and bright bursts of blue to two black jeans outfits I wore to the office recently. Layering was definitely needed as each of these printed tops are sleeveless tanks!

What I wore:

JacketWittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacket
Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Singlet: Kmart navy ribbed tank
TankRiver Island floral print sleeveless shirt
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red

Why I wore it:

I felt that this pretty floral print tank was overdue a wear, it's been so long since I last wore it! Had decided to get it out again and layer a navy tank underneath to help keep me warm for an in-office day. At the last minute I decided to swap out the black leather jacket I planned to wear for this cobalt one. It's a firm favourite I've already hit 30 wears on that always gets me compliments and this day was no exception.

With the cobalt leather jacket against the white floral print tank and the black jeans and white Converse, I wanted to add a little extra colour so I went with this red saddle bag. Doesn't match the deep dark red flowers on the button up tank, but I did like how it brightened this outfit worn with the cobalt jacket.

Even though I layered up under the tank and this is a thick and cosy jacket, it was a very chilly commute to the office and I did wish I'd added a scarf to this outfit!

Last worn: cobalt leather jacket, Tiffany necklace, navy tank, floral button up tank, faded black Skinny jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff studded saddle bag.

Other ways to wearcobalt leather jacket worn 30 ways, navy tank and shorts, floral button up tank and skirt, faded black Skinny jeans and cardigan, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff studded saddle bag worn 30 ways.

I felt this big Louis Vuitton cobalt shawl made up for all the other neutrals in the outfit though - it's such a great pop of colour, and a very cosy scarf! Much like the cobalt leather jacket above, this blue scarf also gets a lot of compliments, it's such a great colour to wear. Kept me nice and warm on the early commute to the office.

Coated Skinny Jeans, Converse and Winter Knits

I picked up these coated denim jeans at the opshop last month to give them a try. And despite worrying at first they looked too much like leggings, I've realised how fun they war to wear! Not sure how they will go in the warmer weather, but for cold winter days they have kept me nice and warm, especially paired with cosy knits like in these outfits.

What I wore:

ScarfAlexander McQueen modal and cashmere skull scarf
Jumper: thrifted Forever 21 wine ribbed knit jumper
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila

Why I wore it:

The first time I wore these jeans I worried they looked too like leggings so I paired them with a long tunic tee. This time around I wore this cosy knit to keep me warm, and tucked it in to the waist to show off the jean zipper details and pockets a little better. I really liked the rich wine colour of the knit with the neutral taupe skull scarf too, and with the black coated jeans and black Converse I felt like adding a little extra colour with this fun hand painted bag.

I really liked this outfit - with the ribbed texture of the knit and the coated denim textures together it looked lovely. Perfect for the school run, a quick visit to a friend, and then working from home before school pick up in the afternoon.

Last worn: wine jumper, taupe skull scarf, coated denim jeans, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff hand painted mini MAB tote bag.

Other ways to wearwine jumper and skirt, taupe skull scarf and skirt, coated denim jeans and cardigan, black Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff hand painted mini MAB tote bag and shorts.

TeeKmart basic purple tee
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

It was the perfect weather for this cosy knitted poncho on this day! I again wore my coated denim jeans, just like in the first outfit, I like the coated denim and the added texture of a chunky knit on top. With the black and white knit and the black jeans and again the black Converse, then the black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag though, this outfit definitely need a little extra colour! It was the perfect excuse to wear the purple tee mum bought for me on our last shopping trip. I love the colour, it is a really rich purple that pops against all of the black.

Really liked wrapping myself up in this cosy knit for the school run, working from home, and then an appointment for my son in the afternoon.

Last worn: Rebecca Minkoff poncho, sunburst necklace, coated jeans (above), black Converse (above), Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag. First time I've worn the purple tee as it's a recent addition to my wardrobe.

Layering Summer Pieces In Winter Outfits

I thrifted a few summer pieces at the opshop in July, back before the cold winter weather really hit in Brisbane. I was so eager to wear my new finds that I tried layering them up for winter on working from home days despite the colder temperatures.

What I wore:

JacketWittner 'Santa Fe' cobalt blue leather jacket
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt (new purchase)
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

I love the colour of this maxi skirt! It was new with tags so definitely worth the $7 I paid for the $89.99 RRP! It was marked as 'Sahara Red' but it's the perfect bold mix of red and orange and I'm excited to wear it again when the weather is warmer. I layered it up with a bright cobalt leather jacket for warmth, and then this also thrifted grey tunic tee for a nice neutral. I skipped the scarf as I felt warm enough with the jacket and long maxi skirt. I was working from home, with a little break for the school run and taking the pups to the vet.

Will definitely have to try this skirt with more blue again next time I wear it, I loved how the leather jacket popped against the bright skirt.

Last worn: cobalt leather jacket, grey tunic tee, terrazzo necklace, white Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag. First time I've worn the maxi skirt as it's a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearcobalt leather jacket worn 30 ways, grey tunic tee and denim, white Converse and jeans, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and blazer.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest navy suede moto zip jacket
ScarfMarc by Marc Jacobs bright blue stole
Dressthrifted no label blue checked smock sundress
ShoesAsos Cleo leather boots in tan
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

Unlike the outfit above, I didn't enjoy this one as much. It looks nice, just wasn't very practical! This thin sundress needed a slip underneath, as well as fleece lined leggings, tall boots, my suede moto jacket and the big cobalt blanket scarf to make it cosy enough for the morning school run. It was certainly comfortable enough for working from home after too, before the school pick up in the afternoon.

However despite having the slip underneath it kept clinging to the leggings and riding up and I had to keep pulling it down, so frustrating to wear. I know I will enjoy this dress so much more when I can wear it with bare legs when it heats up again. Just not a good piece to try winterising. The much needed suede jacket also covered up the fun statement bell sleeves of the dress, so this will remain a firm warm weather only piece in my wardrobe!

Last worn: navy suede moto jacket, cobalt scarf, tall leather boots, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC. First time I've worn the dress as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearnavy suede moto jacket and printed jeans, cobalt scarf and grey dresstan boots worn 30 ways, Rebecca Minkoff blue mini MAC and maxi skirt.

What I Bought: Recent Wardrobe Updates & How I've Worn It

I don't usually buy a lot in winter - I have plenty of winter pieces in my wardrobe to see me through the few weeks of cold weather we have in Brisbane. But this June and July I bought a few pieces, and felt it was time for an overdue wardrobe update!

What I Added to My Wardrobe Recently:

How I've Worn It:

I was hoping that I would have had some more opportunities to layer up the summer dress and maxi skirt I bought recently, but it has been very cold in Brisbane, so one wear each is all I have achieved. I set myself a goal of wearing everything I buy twice in the month that I buy it, but definitely wasn't able to achieve that with the very summery things I bought. I know I will get a lot of wear from the sandals when the warmer weather arrives, but I'm sticking to boots and sneakers for the immediate future!

I went out on an early Christmas shopping trip with my mum and sister but my mum let me take everything she bought me home early, so I was happy to add this beautiful denim maxi dress and the cute purple tee to my wardrobe. I am always looking for more basic colourful tees, this purple one will work so well with everything else in my wardrobe.

Looking forward to warmer weather to rewear my summery opshop finds, and to get the sandals out!

The bag is easily my most worn piece as I bought back in June but never got around to sharing the purchase on the blog then. It was one of those "special little treat" impulse purchases that I love. I'd been admiring my sisters bag for a while, then a MIMCO sale, some expiring credit card rewards and a very illness-filled winter had me adding it to cart to cheer myself up. I love it! I like that the Mimco brand uses leather from tanneries that are part of the Leather Working Group so it's a bit more sustainable than other brands I've bought bags from before. (Although preloved will always be the most sustainable way to get leather!)

Grey Tees, Black Jeans, Long Cardigans and Scarves

Two outfits with grey tees and black jeans, one more colourful one and another just as cosy but a lot more neutral dues to the different colour cardigans I layered with.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest waterfall drape cardigan in scarlett marle
Scarf: blue tartan scarf
Tee: grey marle pocket tee
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff 2012 sky grey mini MAC bag

Why I wore it:

After we had spent most of the school holidays at home sick, we were all feeling better so layered up to run a couple of errands. We also stopped by a local exhibition, as well as dropping off some of the things we had cleared out during our time at home to the local opshop. I couldn't resist browsing too, the kids got a new boardgame while I ended up with a bunch of summer pieces for my wardrobe. Very eager for winter to be over!

The grey tee and black jeans were very neutral before I added this bright red waterfall cardigan and the tartan scarf. With the blues in the scarf I thought the little blue Rebecca Minkoff mini MAC bag was a good accessory, and I didn't need to carry much, just the essentials.

Last worn: red waterfall cardigan, tartan scarf, grey pocket tee, black zip detail jeans, white converse, blue mini MAC bag.

Other ways to wearred waterfall cardigan and printed jeans, tartan scarf and maxi skirt, grey pocket tee and denim skirt, black zip detail jeans and duster, white converse and dress, blue mini MAC bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancytartan scarf in first trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: Paper Scissors grey wrap cardigan
Scarf: Mickey Mouse printed scarf from Disneyland Paris
Earrings: Piper recycled metal turquoise tassel earring
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim (new purchase)
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

These coated jeans were one of my opshop finds on the day above! I was eager to wear them, I've tried a few coated jeans in the past but not been impressed. I was so pleased these $1 ones from the opshop were winners, they are very comfortable. I wasn't sure at first if they looked too like leggings, so I layered up to cover my butt just in case, with this grey tunic tee (also an opshop find) and my grey waterfall cardigan. With the black and white Adidas Superstar sneakers and the black Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag this was a very neutral outfit. I added my Mickey Mouse scarf and the statement earrings for a little extra colour, but not too much as I quite liked all the neutrals together.

This was a great outfit for a day of shopping down the coast with my mum and sister. Mum was very generous so I ended up with quite a few things for me which was fun, even though the intention was to start looking at Christmas presents she let me take everything she bought for me home.
