What I wore:
Earrings: Colette Joanne teal and gold multi drop disk earrings
Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoes: Balenciaga studded sandals in sorbet RGGH
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
Bag: Balenciaga envelope clutch in 2012 mangue with giant 12 RGGH
Why I wore it:
Wore this to celebrate Easter with the family. I'm a bit behind with blogging outfits! We headed down the coast for an Easter lunch and a high speed egg hunt. The kids get faster every year, and they had been asking about when the next Easter egg hunt would be since January! They were very excited and pleased with their haul.My parents had also been doing a bit of spring cleaning, finally opening up some boxes that hadn't been touched since we moved into that house almost 20 years ago! After lunch we started looking through some. It was an incredible time capsule, lots of fun memories and we all ended up going home with a few boxes of things! Tamagotchi (which my kids are loving playing with!), Furby, things from primary school, Gameboy games, it was a treasure trove!
While this fuchsia tiered midi dress is bold enough on it's own I wanted to add a little more colour to it - this mango Balenciaga envelope clutch is such a cheerful colour and I was pleased by how much I liked the two together when I tried it! I wore my Balenciaga sandals too, although they don't match the pink of the dress the mini rose gold hardware matches the hardware on the envelope clutch nicely.
Last worn: dangly earrings, fuchsia pink tiered midi dress, gold charm necklace, Balenciaga sandals, Balenciaga mangue envelope clutch.
Other ways to wear: fuchsia pink tiered midi dress and pink bag, Balenciaga sandals and shorts, Balenciaga mangue envelope clutch and printed jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: Balenciaga sandals in second trimester, Balenciaga mangue envelope clutch in third trimester.
Favourite Balenciaga Bag In My Handbag Collection:
What I wore:
Dress: thrifted Kmart short sleeve godet skirt linen blend dress in fuchsia
Shoes: Purple high top Converse look-a-likes
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Balenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
Another Kmart fuchsia dress that I love - this one was a very lucky opshop find, just $1! I added some colourful accessories to this dress too, with the blue wooden beaded necklace and turquoise Balenciaga First bag. Blue and pink are so good together, in any combination of shades. For something a little different I added a third colour in with these purple high top sneakers as well that I scored after my sister did a wardrobe clear out a while back.Had a fun weekend playdate planned with some friends, although the kids were a little upset when one of their friends couldn't come along as he had virus symptoms. He had a negative test but as he wasn't feeling great and coughing he stayed home while we promised to organise another playdate in future. It was nice the playdate could continue with the other boys though, they had a fun time bouncing around on the trampoline, playing laser tag in the back yard and of course building amazing Lego creations. We'd been worried about it raining so that's why I hosted at my house, but it ended up being a really nice day and such a warm morning.
Last worn: Kmart linen blend dress, blue wooden bead necklace, purple high tops, Balenciaga first bag.
Other ways to wear: Kmart linen blend dress and kimono, purple high tops and stripes, Balenciaga first bag and culottes.

How You Can Wear It:
Fuchsia is a fun bold colour to wear, but it doesn't mean you have to pair it with neutral accessories! Try complimentary or contrasting shoes or bags to create an even more colourful outfit.
I just love your Easter outfit. It was so colourful and that purse was the perfect accessory. How fun to be able to look back at old items and reminisce. Moments like that are so special <3

Yes it's been a lot of fun, and productive for my parents as they clean out so many old boxes, haha!
DeleteThose are a pretty color of pink, and of course I love the bright accessories with them for a cheerful outfit!
ReplyDeleteI really love the yellow bag against the fushia dress! What a pretty contrast! Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm so glad I gave the colour combination a try, I really loved it!
DeleteI love this bright color on you! the bold bags are so fun to pair with it!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving both of this fuchsia pink dresses, Mica. The colour is an instant pick-me-up, isn't it? The first outfit is my favourite. The pop of "mango" against the bright pink of the dress is stunning! Tamagochi! I'd completely forgotten about that craze! It must have been fun opening up those box. Time capsules indeed! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt is, so many old things! The kids have been loving the Tamagotchi's! And I'm glad I gave the yellow clutch a try with the pink, such a fun combination!
DeleteThat is a lovely pink.
ReplyDeleteThe color combination of the first outfit is very bold, but very pretty! I don't think I'd have been brave enough to try it, but it looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I gave it a try, I really loved it!
DeleteThose are such pretty pink dresses; I love that long tiered one and can not wait to be able to wear sundresses again.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a huge fan of both of these dresses Mica, and I like how you carried different color purses with them.

What an uplifting Easter outfit! I love the bright pink dress with the mango Balenciaga clutch. Also, you can't beat discovering an old box full of Furbies and Tomagatchis. Forget the egg hunt; that's the real find! Your second pink dress outfit is very cool too. I especially heart the necklace. :)
ReplyDeletehaha yes - the kids loved the egg hunt, I loved all the old memories and toys!
DeleteThat is such a lovely colour!

Wow! You look stunning in Fuchsia. It is definitely your color.
ReplyDeleteFuchsia is your color girl!!! My gosh it looks stunning on you. Okay, the Easter dress and the yellow purse and the way your hair looks is I think my absolute favorite of ALL TIME! I am always so impressed with your maxi dress options. Send help my way. LOL.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you and the kids had a nice Easter and a real Easter egg hunt sounds like so much fun. My kids who are much older probably even like it. I hope you are having a nice weekend.

I'm lucky that these gorgeous tiered midi dresses have been trending here for a few years - there are so many cute print and colour options! :)
Delete“finally opening up some boxes that hadn't been touched since we moved into that house almost 20 years ago!” This could easily be my parents, haha! OMG Tamagotchi! I was so excited about mine! I also had a Nano Baby (similar concept) that I would name after characters in the books I was reading in fifth grade—foreshadowing my English degrees, haha! LOVE the hot pink dress + purple Converse!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a Nano baby but I loved my Tamagotchi so much. I remember being heartbroken when it died! It's fun to see the kids enjoy them so much!
DeleteOur last Kmart just closed a few weeks ago, and we don't have any left here in California. Sad face! I always found the best deals there. I love the color of this dress!

It's a shame they closed! They are going strong here as it's a different company despite the same name - they have taken over the failing Target stores :)
DeleteFuchsia shade suits you so well, you should wear it often.
ReplyDeleteI love that first fuchsia dress so much! I think I ever made a fashion illustration of it some time back, didn't I? I also like the shorter fuchsia dress style. Pairing these fuchsia dresses with bold bags was the right thing to do, it really elevates these outfits. The clutch bag in particular is gorgeous. You look fantastic in both of these looks!!!!!!!!!!
WOW lovely photos, wish you happy sunday
ReplyDeleteLove both dresses! My fave is the maxi dress with the contrast of your clutch. So gorgeous!

Tamagotchi? I haven’t heard that word in a long time! It sounds like you had fun going through those old boxes. You look fabulous in both outfits. I wouldn’t have thought to team pink the yellow of that bag but it works beautifully!

Yes I'm so pleased the trend is still going strong, I love these styles of dresses and have quite a few in my wardrobe now!
DeleteI love both dresses but my favorite is the first one. I just love the longer length and fun ruffled hem. Also, your Balenciaga clutch is super cute! The color is unique since I see lots of neutral. Swoon! I have been trying to schedule play dates for my son. Too bad we don’t live close together. He would SO enjoy having other kids to play with. I hope your week is off to a great start and happy Tuesday!

it's a shame our kids don't live closer together! Hope you can schedule some playdates for your son soon. I feel like our holidays are full of playdates, but I need to get better at scheduling them during the school term!
DeleteWe just started to clean the garage, and we too have boxes from 20 yrs ago when we moved here. Funny, when you open them huh? Love both looks and the color combo of the pink and orange bag, love the B bags!
