Midi Skirts and Tank Tops With Love Too Bag

I've worn these midi skirts to the office a few times, but decided to wear them with simple tanks for working from home days recently.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted chartreuse necklace
Tank: Kmart navy ribbed tank
Skirt: thrifted &Me blue linen button up midi skirt with pockets
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

I really liked all of the blues in this outfit, with the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love bag always photographing so navy, and the light blue linen skirt and the navy ribbed tank. I felt like I needed a little extra colour with this when I put it all together though, the thrifted chartreuse necklace was the perfect pop of colour. With it and the tan slides I didn't feel like this outfit was too monochromatic. I really liked it!

Was nice and comfortable for the school run, working from home and having a tradie over at the house in the middle of the day. While the morning was a little chilly it was nice to have bare arms and legs for a bit, it's a lot cooler in Brisbane now than it was when I wore this!

Last worn: navy tank, chartreuse necklace, linen midi skirt, tan slides, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to wearnavy tank and jeans, linen midi skirt in the office, tan slides and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Maji metallic tank in soft green and silver
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

I'd planned this outfit in advance, after liking the one above so much! Again it was a plain tank (this silver one I've had for a while and I'm nearly at 30 wears with) and this pretty green broderie anglaise midi skirt. I didn't like this outfit so much last time I wore this skirt, when I wore it with a printed tank, so I knew the simple block colour tank would be something I'd enjoy better.

I added the navy necklace to compliment the deep blue undertone in the Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag, and Converse are always a practical and comfortable choice. The weather wasn't quite as expected though, it was a lot more autumn like than the day I wore the first outfit, so while it was okay working from home, I ended up adding a denim jacket over this when I was out for the school run and a couple of errands before school pick up and sports in the evening.

Last worn: denim jacket, navy flat bead necklace, silver tank, green broderie midi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag (above).

Other ways to weardenim jacket worn 30 ways, silver tank and shorts, green broderie midi skirt with red, white Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancydenim jacket in second trimester.

Metallic Gold Tee Worn 2 Ways

I bought this gold linen tee at the outlets recently - I couldn't pass by how shiny it was, and for just $10! I'm finding it a little tricker to style than I first thought. I figured with metallic being a neutral it would work with everything, but so far I've just worn it with pink and blue.

What I wore:

Necklace: Jeanswest Taryn turquoise tassel bead necklace
Tee: Just Jeans Jamie shirt tail v neck tee in coated champagne gold (new purchase)
SkirtCotton On 'Mica' mesh spot skirt in dusty pink
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

Thought I'd pair this tee with my pink polka dot pencil skirt for its first wear. I like tees and pencil skirts for office wear, it works in my casual office. I felt the metallic tee and the pale pastel pink polka dot pencil skirt seemed a little washed out, even with the black Converse, so I added some brighter turquoise accessories.

The matchy-matchy of the turquoise Balenciaga first bag and the turquoise and gold tassel necklace made me smile. I always love a bit of matchy-matchy!

Last worn: turquoise tassel necklace, pink polka dot pencil skirt, black Converse, Balenciaga Blue India first bag. First time I've worn the tee as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearpink polka dot pencil skirt and blazer, black Converse and jeans, Balenciaga Blue India first bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancypink polka dot skirt in first trimesterConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer (new purchase)
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Tee: Just Jeans Jamie shirt tail v neck tee in coated champagne gold
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoes: thrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers (new purchase)
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Another trip into the office for this metallic gold tee! This time, while I wore it again with pink, I covered it up a bit more with the blazer. Both the pink jeans and the cobalt blue blazer are recent opshop finds, as are the white leather Converse. I added a little more pink with the neutral wood and blush necklace, but I think a bolder necklace would have worked better here, it got lost in the tee a bit.

The pink jeans and cobalt blue blazer certainly added enough colour to make up for the lack of brightness in the necklace though, and I really liked this outfit! While the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag doesn't match any of the other colours in my outfit, I've been wearing this bag a lot recent and think that - just like it does in this outfit - it goes with so much.

Last worn: blush necklace, gold tee (above), pink frayed hem jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag. First time I've worn the blazer and Converse on the blog as they are recent opshop finds.

Other ways to wearcobalt blazer worn two ways, pink frayed hem jeans with black, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and skirt.

Blue and Green Outfits With Black Denim And Love Too Bag

Two blue and green outfits, both with black denim, and different shades of blue and green. I like blue and green together, and this deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love bag works with both blue and green so well!

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Top: Jeanswest Maya gather back tank in mid turquoise
Shorts: Jeanswest Heather Bermuda short in black
Shoes: black matte slim Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Not sure why I haven't worn this turquoise tank with the turquoise and green tassel hem cover up before - it's a good match! Felt nice and colourful for a warm weekend day where we had a couple of playdates. I wore my little Rebecca Minkoff deep teal Love Too bag again, I like it with black and I think it looked good with the lighter blues and greens in the cover up. While it is a true deep teal in person it definitely looked more navy against the bright turquoise, so the navy and gold beaded necklace was a nice way to look a little more matchy-matchy too.

This outfit made my matchy-matchy self really happy!

Last worn: green and blue tassel hem cover up, navy and gold beaded necklace, turquoise tank, black denim shorts, matte black Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff deep teal Love Too bag.

Other ways to weargreen and blue tassel hem cover up and jeans, turquoise tank and purple, black denim shorts and dress, Rebecca Minkoff deep teal Love Too bag and maxi skirt.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Delilah long line kimono in green floral
NecklaceRoie Designs coral beaded tassel necklace
TankCle The Label Amelia tank in indigo
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail (Christmas present)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

This was a very busy day, with trying to cram in a few hours of work in the morning before heading to a sports session in a local park in the afternoon with the kids. Things were so busy at work I got caught up and was nearly late, but luckily they were running a little behind at the park so it wasn't too bad. The kids had a great time too!

As it was a cooler morning I got these jeans out for a wear - Mum got them for me for Christmas on our opshopping day, and this is their first wear. While they do look similar in the photos to the other pair of faded black Jeanswest jeans I won, they are very different in person, with zip detail hems and zip detail pockets. I tried to tuck the tank in enough so that you could see the zips in the photo, but it didn't really work. Tucking the tank in also didn't disguise the fact that I'd not ironed this tank as much as I thought it would!

With the navy tank I added more colour and a bit of shoulder coverage for the sun in the afternoon with this green floral duster, that is a favourite of mine to wear with navy!

Last worn: green floral duster, navy tank, beaded tassel necklace, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff deep teal Love Too bag (above). First time I've worn the jeans as they were a Christmas present.

Black Tops, Textured Pencil Skirts and Converse With Love Too Bag

Making easy office outfits with black tops and textured pencil skirts. Despite the different coloured skirts in both outfits, I accessorised with my deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag which has certainly been getting a lot of love lately!

What I wore:

EarringsAna Luisa 'Olivia' tassel earrings in pink
Tank: lace bib black swing tank from mum's wardrobe
SkirtCotton On 'Mica' mesh spot skirt in dusty pink
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus beaded black bracelet stack and Roie Designs labradorite bracelets
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

With the lace bib detail on this tank I always have a heard time trying to pick a necklace to wear with it! I settled on statement earrings this time, these gold and pink ones, while not the same shade of pastel pink as the pencil skirt, I thought still complimented my outfit nicely.

This pink polka dot pencil skirt is one I have been reaching for a lot - it's easy to wear with Converse for an office outfit that doesn't require a lot of planning. With the black textured polka dots on the mesh top layer, any black top works well with it! Although I have a few black tops I could pick from, this is the second time I've worn this tip and skirt together, I added a blazer on top last time I wore the combination.

Last worn: tassel earrings, lace detail tank, polka dot pencil skirt, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to wearlace detail tank and shorts, polka dot pencil skirt in winterConverse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancypink polka dot pencil skirt in first trimesterConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: silver ball multi chain long necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee
SkirtWarehouse navy jacquard pencil skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

This plain black tee is usually not one I struggle picking a necklace with, as it doesn't have the extra detail at the neckline like the tank in the first outfit. I still couldn't pick a nice necklace in the morning when trying to get ready - in the end I went with this silver one that hadn't been worn in a while, even if I did worry it looked a little more formal than the plain black tee suggested.

Much like the pencil skirt in the first outfit, I find I wear this one with a lot of black, with the black jacquard weave making the choice of top simple and making any black option a nice matchy-matchy choice. I also really like the navy background with the deep teal Love Too bag. The blue Converse sneakers were a third shade of blue with this outfit, but I feel they really go with everything!

Red Tees Black Shorts and Printed Cover Ups

Adding some printed cover ups to these black shorts and red tee outfits, with comfortable sneakers and black bags.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Shein black floral print cover up
NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Emily cotton v-neck tee in coral
ShortsJeanswest Sara distressed hot short
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun evening! I had to work from home, and then the kids and I headed down the coast for dinner with my sister at my parent's house. It's a good meet up point between both our houses. And while we both had long days, it was good to catch up and spend some time together. The boys had been looking forward to it for a while!

I did consider wearing jeans instead of shorts - as it is autumn - but I was plenty warm while working from home, and I thought this dark floral cover up would keep me warm as well in the evening. It did get a little chilly though, and I did wish I'd worn jeans before we went home. Will need to wear this floral cover up with jeans next time. I'll probably wear it with red again too, I really liked the coral red tee with the red in the floral print.
Decided to try something a little different with these black printed shorts and add another black print on top. The cover up and shorts are both a black background with a small white print so I thought they would work nicely together. I really liked the combination, especially with the red tee in-between for a touch of colour.

I haven't always enjoyed print mixing with these shorts but it was good to try something different, and I really liked this outfit! Added the practical New Balance sneakers and my big Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag for a day in the park. Making the most of the beautiful weather on the public holiday, we took the kids to the local park to practice skateboarding on the boards they recently got from my parents. And then after tiring themselves out on their boards, they were able to run around in the playground for a bit.

Last worn: black print cover up, red tee, sunburst necklace, black printed shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff studded unlined tote bag.

Other ways to wearblack print cover up with grey, red tee and culotte shorts, black printed shorts and cardigan, Rebecca Minkoff studded unlined tote bag and blazer.

Printed Tanks and Midi Skirts With 5-Zip Bag

Just like my previous post, sticking to a simple outfit formula and repeating it over again. Unlike the last time I tried this though, I didn't like both of these outfits equally. Both are midi skirt and Converse outfits for work, with printed tanks and my Rebecca Minkoff blue 5-zip bag.

What I wore:

Necklace: silver heart long pendant necklace
Top: Jeanswest Elissa leaf print tank
Skirt: thrifted &Me blue linen button up midi skirt with pockets
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
Bagvintage original Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip in faded electric blue

Why I wore it:

I realised it had been a while since I'd worn this fern print tank so figured I'd better get a wear in before the autumn weather really arrives in Brisbane! With the blue in the fern print, this blue linen button up midi skirt seemed like an obvious pairing. I then added more blue with the Converse and the faded electric blue Rebecca Minkoff 5-Zip bag.

I wanted something light to wear as we had another team lunch at an outdoor restaurant - this was good for the aircon in the office but cool enough to wear outside with the linen fabric.

Last worn: fern print tank, silver heart necklace, button up linen midi skirt, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag.

Other ways to wearfern print tank and jeans, button up linen midi skirt and neutral tank, blue Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag and denim.

What I wore:

Necklace: Tiffany & Co silver 5th Avenue notes heart pendant necklace
Top: Jeanswest Florence print long line tank
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bagvintage original Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip in faded electric blue

Why I wore it:

This outfit, while the same formula as the outfit above, I didn't like as much. It's a midi skirt and printed tank, again with Converse and the faded electric blue Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip bag. I wasn't sure because of the broderie fabric on the skirt if the printed tank looked too busy with it. While the tank is a neutral with browns and creams in the crosshatch print they are a bit busy together.

I felt it worked enough to give it a try that morning, I just kept wondering through the day if the outfit looked a bit much with the print and the detailed skirt fabric. I think if it had been a plain tank or a plain skirt I would have liked this a bit more. Still, was okay for a day in the office and not every outfit will be one I love.

Last worn: brown printed tank, Tiffany necklace, green broderie midi skirt, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip bag (above).

Other ways to wearbrown printed tank and pencil skirt, green broderie midi skirt in festive outfit, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff 5-zip bag with red.

Blue Dresses and Small Orange Love Bag

Two blue printed dress outfits, both accessorised with my crossover slides and my little orange Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag.

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart gold circle glitter resin statement earrings
Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
Dress: Iris Maxi The Label flora print blue and white mini dress
Belt: came with dress
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral

Why I wore it:

I actually wore this back on easter Sunday at the end of March! I can be a bit behind with sharing photos to the blog sometimes. We had our annual lunch at my parent's and I wanted to look dressed up but be comfortable for all the good food too - this loose dress seemed like a great choice. After running around the back garden for the egg hunt I did question why I picked a mostly white dress to wear...luckily I kept it clean!

Even though the hardware on the Rebecca Minkoff small love bag is silver, I went with gold earrings and my gold necklace. I didn't mind the mixed metals as they were quite far apart.
Another easy blue printed dress and slides outfit, even accessorised this navy leaf print dress with the same small peachy Love bag. I've worn this little orange bag with the dress before, I feel with the autumn leaves colours in the print the peach small Love bag is a nice complimenting accessory, even if it's not an exact match.

Just like last time I wore the dress and bag together, this was also for another birthday party! I unexpectedly had to run a few errands beforehand where I felt a little overdressed, but I was perfectly attired for the party that afternoon. While I didn't wear the gold earrings with this I did wear the same gold necklace too, and same slides too. When you have a winning formula why change it?

Last worn: gold charm necklace (above), Jaase autumn leaves dress, Kmart slides (above), Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag (above).

Other ways to wearJaase autumn leaves dress and blazer, Kmart slides and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag and maxi dress.

Red Tees, Printed Shorts And Cupid Bag

While it is autumn in Brisbane, shorts weather continues! Making the most of warmer days and wearing some printed shorts with plain red tees and my Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag.

What I wore:

NecklaceRoie Designs feather, quartz and love charm long necklace
TeeCotton On The One sangria v-neck tee
ShortsJeanswest Parker printed shirred short
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus black beaded bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

A weekend physio session meant shorts and a tee and comfortable and practical sneakers! I added a little colour to these soft black printed shorts and black sneakers with the red v-neck tee, and then went matchy-matchy with a black and red beaded bracelet stack.

After my physio I went shopping with mum for my son's upcoming birthday. We managed to pick up a lot of things we needed, it was a very productive day!

Last worn: red tee, feather necklace, black bracelet stack, black printed shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag.

Other ways to wearred tee and blue shorts, black printed shorts and cardigan, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and jeans.

What I wore:

Tee: Jeanswest Emma woven trim tee in terracotta
Shorts: Kmart culotte short in navy lemon print
Shoes: black matte slim Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

I really liked the simplicity of the outfit above - a plain colourful tee with printed shorts is an easy warm weather outfit. So I repeated something similar the next weekend! This super soft red tee goes nicely with the navy printed shorts. It's not the first time I've worn these shorts with red, I like the combination. Once again I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag. It's the perfect bag for running errands as it fits everything I need to carry plus a water bottle, and if I have the kids along like I did on this day, some snacks too.

The Cupid bag was an opshop find a while back, so as well as being a practical choice for running errands I was hoping it would bring me good thrifting luck at the opshop! I picked up quite a few books for the kids. We grabbed lunch at Bunnings too, picking up a few more things for the garden.

Last worn: red tee, sunburst necklace, navy printed culottes, matte black Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag (above).

What I Bought In April and How I've Worn It

Back again with more wardrobe additions! After scoring a few thrift finds in February, I hadn't really felt the urge to add much to my wardrobe. I did make a couple of recent impulse buys though, so here's what I've bought in April and how I've worn it.

What I Bought:

  • thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
  • thrifted white leather Converse sneakers
  • thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer
  • thrifted Belle Folie multi colour tassel necklace
  • Just Jeans Jamie shirt tail v neck tee in coated champagne gold

Actually bought something new this month! While the jeans, Converse, necklace and blazer were lucky opshop finds, the metallic tee was something I picked up on our recent trip to the outlets. When hubby was buying a couple pairs of jeans I decided to add the tee to our shop as we waited at the register, I thought it would be fun to wear! It gets a lot of compliments for sure, but if I'd stopped and read the care tag and saw the metallic comes from polyester, and that Just Jeans does not have a good track record in ethical fashion practices, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Completely owning up to the fact that I got swayed by the price tag at the register, and committing to wear it 30 times as I do with everything I buy to minimise the environmental impact, just a reminder to myself to be a little more discerning when I shop and what I support with my cash.

The opshop finds are nothing but positive of course - my money goes to local opshops that help in the community, keeps clothing out of landfill and expands my wardrobe without adding to the environmental impact of the fashion industry or supporting the unfair lower-than-living-wage for people that make cheap clothes. Plus new wardrobe additions at barging preloved prices are always fun!

How I've Worn It:

The blue blazer I have a very similar style of in blush pink that I'm nearly at 30 wears with and so I know this blue one will get a lot of wear. I've really enjoyed the brightness it brings to my office outfits so far!

The tassel necklace I already have something similar, it was also an opshop find and it's a multi strand one with lots of colourful tassels. I couldn't resist this when I saw it at the opshop, despite it being similar to one I already own, as I know I like the style and it will be a great way to add a little more colour to my outfits.

The pink jeans are a little heavy on the stretch fabric but that does make them very comfortable to wear - and while I know frayed hem jeans were a trend a while ago, I couldn't pass up the cute shade of pink. As it was the 50% off sale day at the opshop too I got them for just $2 which was perfect.

Given how much I wear Converse lately I had to check out these leather ones at the opshop - seeing they were my size made them an automatic must-have! They do have the downside of looking exactly the same as my white canvas Converse in outfit pics, so they may suffer from being incorrectly tagged on the blog in future, but for $9 and a little bit of elbow grease to clean and condition the leather they were definitely a good buy. And at 7 wears already, definitely the most worn of my purchases this month!

The gold tee is a little tricker to wear than I thought - it is very shiny! But it's also been fun coming up with ways to wear it, and as you can see I've enjoyed pairing it with softer pinks the first couple of times I've worn it.
