What I wore:
Tee: Jeanswest Emma woven trim tee in terracotta
Skirt: thrifted SES Fashions vertical stripe maxi skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs metallic mouse flats
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag
Why I wore it:
A busy day when I wore this! I did a little opshopping in
the morning to pick up a few more necklace options trying to find the perfect
way to accessorise my dress for an event, and we had to stop by the library and
grocery store.
The afternoon was more relaxed, a leisurely stroll / bike / scoot around our local park after a last minute rush to the bank to pickup a copy of a letter that never arrived . This comfortable outfit was just what I needed. I loved this statement necklace against the red slouchy tee, I’ve worn it with a red tee before and liked it then too. The vertical striped maxi skirt has pockets too which is so practical. And the gold mouse flats matched the gold hardware on the little Rebecca Minkoff micro avery bag nicely.

Last worn: red slouchy tee, statement necklace, vertical stripe maxi skirt, gold mouse flats, micro Avery bag.
Other ways to wear: red slouchy tee and denim shorts, vertical stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, gold mouse flats and pleated skirt, micro Avery bag and floral dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: gold mouse flats in third trimester.
What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Avery
What I wore:
Tee: thrifted Emerson navy slouchy tee
Skirt: thrifted Billabong red printed maxi skirt
Shoes: slim gold Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs pearl, howlite and hematite beaded bracelets
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag
Why I wore it:
Not the first time I’ve worn this beautiful red thrifted maxi skirt with a blue tee! I like blue and red together so this skirt is worn with blue a lot, and the $3 thrifted skirt with the tee that works out to about 63 cents makes for a very affordable outfit! I got the tee in a bag of clothes in the “fill a bag for $5” sale which is why it works out so cheaply! I was dressing for comfort as we headed out to the airport early in the morning to pick someone up, and then lunch and shopping with my sister later.
I picked this silk beaded necklace to use as distraction for the boys while we waited at the airport – but thankfully we didn’t have to wait wrong. The
extra pearl bracelets were another distraction tool – it’s so normal for my
boys to play with my accessories when I pick them up for cuddles – part of the
reason I rarely wear delicate or sharp statement necklaces on my SAHM days, preferring them for
office days!
Last worn: navy oversized tee, silk beaded necklace, red printed maxi skirt, gold Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery tote (above).
Other ways to wear: navy oversized tee and printed scarf, red printed maxi skirt and leather jacket, Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery tote and pencil skirt.
Slouchy Tees Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
There's a fashion "rule" that you shouldn't pair two voluminous pieces, like a slouchy oversized tee and a billowy maxi skirt together. But I say you should wear what makes you comfortable, and a maxi skirt and tee is such a comfy outfit! Perfect easy outfit for a mum too, no worrying about the skirt being too short as you run around with the kids!Linking up with Fab Friday, Weekend Wear, Lizzie In Lace, Fancy Friday.
I love how you matched it in the first pic! Such a chic pop with the red! Xx

This is a cute relax look. I need a little bright color bag in my life. I always co for the black or camel.

A bright bag is a fun way to change it up!
DeleteYou know how to shop a bargain and look fabulous! I love that blue tee, blue is such a beautiful color!
ReplyDeleteI love red and navy together, Mica. I'm not sure if the first skirt is black and white or navy and white, but both looks are beautiful on you! I have a couple of maxi skirts and I love wearing oversized tees with them. I like your suggestion of wearing the oversized tees with pencil skirts too. That one I'm going to try out if it ever gets warm here (we hit freezing last night - I'm now so over winter). That's the best bag, too! You have such wonderful colors. I have one colored bag....well, two if you count my burgundy colored wine bag that sometimes I carry if I need a splash of color. I definitely need some colored bags. I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Strange, my kids never care to play with my jewelry. They prefer to wear it or they ignore it.
ReplyDeleteOh you are lucky! Whenever I have a kid (or two!) on my hips they like to play with the necklaces I'm wearing!
DeleteYour red bag is so cute! What a great standout piece, and it's fabulous paired with the navy and turquoise.
