What I wore:
Sunglasses: Rayban new Wayfarers (on sale!)
Necklace: Tiffany diamonds by the yard necklace
Tank: Jeanswest 'Darcy' embellished top in Winter coral
Skirt: Target black and white striped maxi skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs silver tuxedo flats (on sale!)
Bracelets: the usual plus silver cuff
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey (on sale in black and white!)
Why I wore it:
Wore this out for the last lunch of the year - this was my new year's eve outfit. The tank had the right amount of sparkle for the occasion. Not quite as much as my sparkly Christmas outfits, but nice all the same. The style challenge for the day was 'sparkles' which made this sequin embellished tank a great choice.I enjoyed wearing this although it didn't look great when I looked back at the photos - the breeze didn't help! I think the tank untucked with the maxi skirt just looked a little weird, I prefer to tuck this tank in when I wear it as it's really long on my petite frame, even with the baby belly. Bit of an outfit fail.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer, sequin tank, striped maxi skirt, tuxedo flats, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag.
Other ways to wear: sequin tank and skinny jeans, striped maxi skirt in winter without a baby bump, tuxedo flats and a maxi dress, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag and a colourful cardigan.
More embellished / button down tank tops for under $50:
What I wore:
Sunglasses: Rayban new Wayfarers (on sale!)
Necklace: Tiffany diamonds by the yard necklace layered with Tai gold alphabet necklace
Tank: Jeanswest Florence print long line tank (new purchase, on sale!)
Skirt: Target grey marle maxi skirt
Shoes: slim gold Havaianas (new purchase)
Bracelets: the usual plus Roie Designs waxed leather cream howlite beaded wrap bracelet
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey (on sale in black and white!)
Why I wore it:
Wore this out to a BBQ for the first day of the new year. Unlike the outfit I'd worn the day before, I tucked this tank in and much preferred this outfit over the one above. Just a simple thing, to tuck or untuck a top, but it can make a big difference. And show off the growing third trimester bump nicely! :)This top was one of my post Christmas sale buys from Jeanswest. I'd actually tried this top on before, months ago, and wasn't sure it would accommodate the baby bump so I left it in the store. I kept thinking about it though. When I came across it again in the outlet store reduced even further I was so happy. Even more so to find that it did fit the baby bump! The buttons will come in handy post-baby for breastfeeding too. Even if I was pushing the limits of it here and can't wear it again until after baby arrives, I'm so pleased to have found and bought this.
Last worn: Ray-Ban Wayfarer (above), grey maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag (above). First time I've worn the thongs (flip flops) and tank as they are recent purchases.
Other ways to wear: grey maxi skirt layered for winter, Rebecca Minkoff Love bag and skinny jeans.

Cute outfit! The print on the top is so cute!

You are so right Mica after a while, strictly maternity wear becomes tired and mixing up regular clothes livens up the outfits so much. You look great in your regular tank outfit in the first look and I LOVE the classic pattern of the top in your second look. Happy Wednesday!! XOXO, Elif
ReplyDeleteIt is good to try wear your regular wardrobe - like you said it would get really boring otherwise!
DeleteLove seeing your bump! I was really big on trying to wear non-maternity clothes as often as possible too :)

Yep, better to buy less maternity clothes and more baby clothes, haha!
DeleteBoth tanks look great on you Mica! Love the design and print of each. Maternity wear is expensive! Good for you in saving your outfits from your last pregnancy. I bet it helped.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
Yes it was really good to have a lot of maternity pieces to bring out and use again!
DeleteOh girl, I feel your pain! Or, I've "felt" your pain. Nothing like those last few weeks of pregnancy when you start to debate what's long enough and what is going to show your bump. haha. The struggle was all too real for me. Hang in there! I know I had a thousand outfit fails my last few weeks of pregnancy. In fact, I'm pretty sure I wore roughly the same outfit until she came. Oops. (; Hope you're having a great week Mica!
ReplyDeletehaha I can see myself drifting towards that and just wearing the same outfit in the last month! Normal tops just so quickly go from okay to not covering the bump at all!
DeleteLooking gorgeous, dear! The bright tank top definitely caugh my eye! Oh, and it happened to me that same thing that happened to you with the second top. Sometimes I want to buy something and I even try it on but for some reason I'm not that convinced so I leave it on the store and then I can't stop thinkig about it and I go a few days later to buy the item, haha. Lucky you it was even further reduced!!!

Yes it's good when it works out like that, the thing you want is still there and it's even cheaper!
DeleteGood that you can still wear non maternity pieces, at least then you won't have so many clothes that you won't be able to wear until you get pregnant again :) Both of these outfits are pretty, and well styled :) x
ReplyDeletewww.elabellaworld.com
Yep it's good to reuse what I already own :)
DeleteThe new jeanswest tank is really pretty - I love it when something you want gets further reduced and then you have the perfect excuse to snap it up!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Yes everything aligned perfectly! :D
DeleteI'm impressed that you're able to wear your tanks in the third trimester! It seems like all of my flow blouses have all been moved into temporary retirement because they're all either too short or too tight, and I'm only at 22 weeks! Also, I feel like the first outfit looks alright untucked. I don't know that it would have quite the same relaxed feel if it was tucked.
ReplyDeletehaha I'm petite so most tops are too long on me, both of these tanks need to be half tucked when I'm not pregnant or they are more tunic length....the one benefit of being short, the belly is huge but your existing wardrobe still covers it for a while!
DeleteI also tried to wear non maternity clothes through most of my pregnancy, but since I had twins, that didn't work out at the end! I think I had one dress that fit! I'm loving both your maxi skirts, and like them both with the top tucked and untucked!

Oh yes twins is completely different! Congrats though, such an awesome blessing to have two babies!
DeleteWe are SO our own worst critics--I liked your first outfit! But you have to feel good in it too. That shirt in your second look is so pretty and looks great! I remember those days when my belly started to outgrow even my maternity stuff...eek. Hang in there, you look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shea! It won't be a combination I'll be trying again (like you said you have to feel good!) but it's good to hear other opinions :)
DeleteThis is such a great maternity look! You look comfortable and chic!
ReplyDeletexx Belle
I like the decoration on the red top in the first outfit! Hope baby t is feeling better so mum can take a break and finally getting some rest!! I adore your armparty! Very chic and indeed suitable for the look you are rocking here :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Toddler T is improving, I however have caught what he had...ha! Not a lot of resting going on ;)
DeleteEven with the sequin tank untucked, I still think it looks cute :) I love all the colors and sparkle it provides!
ReplyDeleteMili
I love the colour and the way you dressed this! You look so lovely I hope you have a happy weekend! :) http://www.bauchlefashion.com
ReplyDeleteI don't think that you have failed with the first outfit. Untucked tank looks very comfy and I undurstand how important is wearing really comfy clothes when you are pregnant :) The tank looks like a thing which does not restrict movement and this is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe second outfit is just REALLY CHIC! I absolutely love this tank and this skirt. And looking throw your amazing photos I want to be pregnant again :)
Thank you! Yep, comfort is key in pregnancy! :)
DeleteThat bag is so versatile, love the color! Love both ur tops too!
ReplyDeleteThestyletune.blogspot.com
Ha! I was just thinking how much I like the first outfit. I particularly enjoy the contrast of patterns, and the colour of the top is so pretty. Still, I am definitely familiar with that feeling of getting halfway through the day, looking down and thinking "what on earth am I wearing??". Glad you felt better in the second one!
ReplyDeleteYes not every day can be an outfit winner! It's all good though! :)
DeleteThat Rebecca Minkoff bag is truly amazing! WOW!
ReplyDeleteRaindrops of Sapphire
I love the BBQ's outfit! so chic ;)

That red tank is so cute and I think it looks great untucked! The second look is my favorite! So chic!

That feeling of the extra reduced sale bargain! YASSSSS!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's the best! :D
DeleteDressing the bump can be so hard, especially the farther along you get! I feel that way right now! You look so cute though, you totally rock that bump!

Yes it's good to wear them as much as possible I think :)
DeleteYour jeweled tank is so pretty and I like the color. Sorry you weren't feeling that look. So happy you were able to pick up the second blouse! I always enjoy a second chance at picking up a piece I love. It looks great tucked into your marled maxi!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday, Mica!
Absolutely love this Rebecca Minkoff bag!! Think I need to have a look at the sale...
ReplyDeleteChristina ♥ https://caliope-couture.com
I really like that all grey look, it is so elegant but I also like the first one ! I think that top is just perfect...nothing beats a good pop of red.
ReplyDeleteHaving you talk about trying to fit into non-maternity clothes whenever possible has actually got me thinking about what items in my closet I could wear while pregnant one day! For example, I'm wearing a very long tunic sweater and leggings. Both of these items could be worn for quite awhile with a bump! I mostly have looser tops which could easily hold at least a small bump. Pants on the other hand is a whole other story!
ReplyDeletePants could work! I bought a belly band this time around that extended my pants under the bump so I could wear them longer than I did last time around :) I'm lucky I have a lot of loose flowy pieces or stretchy pieces in my wardrobe that work well for pregnancy.
DeleteThank you all for your comments!
ReplyDeleteGreat shirt. Definitely could be remixed in so many ways. Would love for you to stop by and link up on the blog!

I love to see how you always take time to accessorise. You're always changing bags and adding bracelets - i admire that.
