Denim Dresses, Converse and Statement Bags

Two different tiered denim dress outfits I wore recently for Brisbane's autumn weather.

What I wore:

Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
DressTarget puff sleeve tiered denim dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star in hot tea
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe Paddington in 2007 Brun

Why I wore it:

It was the perfect autumn weather to give this dress another wear! Got it out again of wear to church, when it was a cooler morning but warmer in the afternoon when I had a few errands to run after church.

Again I wore my Chloe Paddington bag, it's been getting a lot of love lately and I really like wearing it with this little tiered denim dress. I went a bit matchy-matchy with the gold necklace, and the brown Converse, even though the browns are very different shades.

Last worn: charm necklace, tiered denim dress, brown Converse, Chloe Paddington bag.

Other ways to weartiered denim dress and leather jacket, brown Converse and skirt, Chloe Paddington bag and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancyChloe Paddington bag in second trimester.

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper glass beaded chandelier earring in cream and gold
Dress: Kmart denim short sleeve button front midi dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star in hot tea
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga envelope clutch in 2012 mangue with giant 12 RGGH

Why I wore it:

I wore the same brown Converse again with another denim dress, this tiered Kmart midi one. It's a much thicker denim and being a long maxi length on my petite self it was perfect for a milder autumn night. Hubby and I had a rare date night, dinner and a show at the Brisbane Comedy Festival. I didn't have to carry much, just my phone really, so took the excuse to take this pretty clutch out again.

Not the most practical choice for mum life, but it was a great clutch for our night out, even though I didn't have to carry more than my phone or wallet.

Added the statement earrings to try dress this outfit up a little, I really liked them with this dress, the statement earrings and bright studded clutch stopped it looking a little too casual I felt. And although I did consider taking a scarf for when it got dark later I'm glad I didn't as I didn't really need it, it was a nice warm night and the thick denim kept me warm enough.

Pink and Grey Skirt Outfits With Thrifted Camis

Wearing some of my recent opshop finds with old favourites for these autumn skirt outfits. Both feature grey and pink, and an extra layer over the top to combat the autumn chill.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Polly kimono in dusty pink
Earrings: thrifted Target hammered silver circle earrings
Necklace: Target silver Alisha trinity pendant necklace
Tank: thrifted no label terrazzo print white tank
Skirt: Salvos Nobody Denim grey distressed denim skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star in pink foam
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Paraty bag in wine purple

Why I wore it:

These hammered silver circle earrings have been getting a bit of wear since I thrifted them! Just like last time I wore them when I went matchy-matchy, I tried it again picking this silver circle necklace to wear. I really liked the earrings and necklace together! And another wearing of this terrazzo print tank that I thrifted at the same time, and recently wore to the office.

For this casual outfit I wore it with a distressed grey Nobody Denim skirt, pink Converse and then my pink cover up, to compliment the pastel pink in the terrazzo print. Although it's not an exact match I liked the extra shades of pink with this, and added the wine purple Chloe Paraty bag for a little more colour.

There was a bit of driving around on this day, although I was working from home, as we started the morning picking up a dog we were dogsitting, then I had to drop the kids off at vacation care before heading home for working from home, before collecting the kids in the afternoon. Busy day!

Last worn: pink cover up, silver circle earrings, silver circle necklace, terrazzo print tank, Nobody Denim skirt, pink Converse, Chloe wine purple Paraty bag.

Other ways to wear: pink cover up and dressterrazzo print tank and blazer, Nobody Denim skirt and graphic tee, pink Converse and maxi skirt, Chloe wine purple Paraty bag and dress.

What I wore:

Jacket: Ripe longline grey cardigan
Earrings: thrifted Target hammered silver circle earrings
Necklace: thrifted pearl and heart charm long necklace
Cami: thrifted Cotton On pale olive cami (new purchase)
Skirt: Target animal print ruffle hem mini skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star in hot tea
Bracelets: the usual plus Cotton On silver beaded bracelet stack
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Finally got to wear this long grey cocoon cardigan I got from our annual pre-Christmas opshopping trip. I was so excited to get it, and it's been a while before it was finally cool enough to give it a wear. I love a cocoon style cardigan and I like the longer length on this one too. I wore it with the new Converse mum bought me recently. They had a sale on so I ended up with two new pairs! With the brown in the leopard print skirt the Converse were a nice match, and I took the opportunity to wear this newly thrifted pale olive cami for the first time.

I felt with the grey cardigan keeping me cosy, and the neutral browns and olive of the top and skirt and shoes, this outfit needed a little more interest. The statement multi chain necklace wasn't enough so I added a pink bag, my Balenciaga sorbet city bag that was overdue another wear. I like how it brightened up this outfit. It was perfect for another day of working from home, with drop off and pickup for the kids at vacation care.

Last worn: silver circle earrings (above), necklace, leopard print skirt, Balenciaga sorbet pink city bag. First time I've worn the cardigan as it was a Christmas present, Converse as they were a recent gift, and the olive cami as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearleopard print skirt and denim jacket, Balenciaga sorbet pink city bag worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyBalenciaga sorbet pink city bag in second trimester.

Pink and Purple Denim Skirt and Tee Outfits With Floral Prints

Two different Target stretch denim pencil skirt outfits with pink and purple. While these outfits follow a very similar outfit formula, I liked how different both turned out.

What I wore:

Jacket: Target Karolina summer kimono in purple black floral
Earrings: Kmart glitter gingerbread man earrings
Tee: Kmart short sleeve cotton modal tee in tulip pink
Skirt: Target classic denim skirt in white
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagPolene numero neuf mini in textured mauve

Why I wore it:

I wanted a comfortable but practical outfit for my annual Christmas shopping day out with my mum and sister. Decided on this white denim skirt, as I was out most of the day and didn't have to worry about wet doggy footprints on the white denim! The white Adidas Superstar sneakers were a nice comfortable choice for a day walking around all the shops, getting the bulk of my Christmas shopping done. Just a couple things I've ordered online that I'm waiting for now.

As we often buy each other things while out shopping, I thought a skirt and tee was a good outfit for trying things on. We did try on a few things too so I was glad I wore this outfit. I didn't add a necklace as I had my big glittery gingerbread statement earrings, and with the purple floral print on the cover up I felt the earrings and floral print added enough interest on their own.

Although the lilac Polene Numero Neuf mini bag isn't an exact match with the purple in the print, I really liked it with this outfit, and I only needed the essentials on our shopping trip anyway.
Jacket: Jeanswest Polly printed kimono in white base ditsy floral
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Tee: Kmart basic purple tee
Skirt: thrifted Target black stretch denim skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the pink and purple skirt and tee combination above so much, I wore it again, this time with my black Target denim skirt. This one was an opshop find. I really liked the purple tee with it, it's such a bold colour. Also wanted to add a necklace to this outfit as while I was also wearing statement gingerbread earrings in this outfit, they are a smaller set than the one above. With the blush pink necklace, and the pink floral print of the white cover up and the sorbet pink of the Balenciaga city bag, there was a lot of pink in this outfit, but I think all the shades of the colour worked so nicely together.

It was a good outfit for a hot day, with church in the morning, and then a kids bowling party in the afternoon.

Last wornfloral cover up, blush necklace, purple tee, black denim skirt, Converse, Balenciaga sorbet city bag. First time I've worn the earrings as they were a gift.

Other ways to wearfloral cover up and jeans, purple tee and printed jeans, black denim skirt and stripes, Converse and dress, Balenciaga sorbet city bag worn 30 ways.

Green and Blue Jeans and Tee Outfits

I really like wearing green and blue together. Both these jeans and tee outfits feature blue and green together in different shades, and I like the colour combinations in each outfit.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On Alana Wanderlust kimono in floral mood indigo
Necklace: Kmart gold and navy beaded necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton On The one crew tee in green
Jeans: Jeanswest black skinny jeans with zipper detail
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus jade beads and Roie Designs bracelets
BagRebecca Minkoff emerald green mini 5-zip rocker bag

Why I wore it:

Jeans and a tee has become a staple for me while working from home this spring! I liked the printed cover up on top of the green tee, it adds a little interest when on a video call. With the blue printed cover up against the green tee I added the navy and gold necklace for an extra contrast. Doesn't match the blue in the print at all but I liked the different shades of blue in this outfit.

Added more green as well with the green Rebecca Minkoff mini 5-zip bag. Like the necklace and cover up, the shade doesn't match the tee, but again I liked both shades in this outfit.

Kept the rest simple with my black jeans and black strappy sandals, for doing the school run in the morning and evening.

Last worn: Cotton On cover up, green tee, navy beaded necklace, zip detail jeans, strappy sandals, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag.

Other ways to wearCotton On cover up and skirt, green tee and shorts, zip detail jeans and graphic tee, strappy sandals and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff mini 5 zip bag and shorts.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On navy zig zag cover up
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tee: grey marle pocket tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
Shoes: thrifted Anko Kmart black strappy sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India with handmade textured strap

Why I wore it:

Another school run and working from home outfit, with sports in the evening after school. The navy beaded necklace is more of a match with the navy chevron print cover up. I tried to match the turquoise in the print with the Balenciaga first bag, although I'm not sure the print shows that turquoise so well in the photos. It still made my matchy-matchy self happy though!

These olive green jeans were due another wear, they are a pair I've exceeded 30 wears with and I have worn them a lot with grey tees, although it's the first time I've worn them with this tee. Wore the same black strappy sandals as I did in the outfit above, they are very comfortable.

Last worn: navy print cover up, navy beaded necklace, grey tee, olive jeans, black strappy sandals (above), Balenciaga First bag.

Jeans, Tees and Blue Balenciaga Bags

Some simple jeans and tee outfits I wore recently, that I added some colourful necklaces and blue Balenciaga bags too.

What I wore:

JacketThe Kindness Kimono 'Dream Catch Me' print
Necklace: adjustable coral flat bead necklace
Tee: thrifted Cotton on grey tunic tee
Jeans: thrifted Cotton On The High Rise Skinny Jean black coated denim
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

This grey tunic tee with the black coated jeans is a combination I've worn before, but this time around I tucked the tunic in and added some more colourful accessories. Last time I wore the two together, it was a more neutral outfit. But I added the printed cover up for a little extra colour and interest, and then the coral necklace as I felt it matched the colours in the print nicely.

I kept the shoes neutral with the black Converse, good for running around a little as I had the school run as well as working from home. Did add more colour with the turquoise blue Balenciaga first bag though, I really like how it pops against neutrals like the jeans and tee.

Last worn: printed cover up, coral necklace, grey tunic, coated jeans, Converse, Balenciaga first bag.

Other ways to wearprinted cover up and skirt, grey tunic and shorts, coated jeans and knitConverse and dress, Balenciaga first bag and band tee.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted multi strand multi colour disc bead necklace with tassels
Tee: thrifted black and white space dye peplum tee
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoes: thrifted Seed Heritage tan braided sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga giant hardware Day bag in 2009 tempete

Why I wore it:

Another blue Balenciaga bag! I picked my Balenciaga day as I hadn't worn it in a while and I needed a big bag to fit a book and some water bottles as I accompanied my son to a birthday party at an indoor play area. It was loud so I was intending on hiding in a corner and reading my book, but one of my friends was there with her child who was also attending so I chatted with her instead.

Kept it simple again with a jeans and tee outfit, although I changed it up a little with the peplum tee and the colourful pink jeans. Both the peplum top and jeans are opshop finds, as is the layered tassel necklace I added for a little more colour.

Last worn: peplum tee, tassel necklace, pink jeans, braided sandals, Balenciaga tempete day bag.

Other ways to wearpeplum tee and shorts, pink jeans and knit, braided sandals and dress, Balenciaga tempete day bag and skirt.

Perfect for pregnancy: Balenciaga tempete day bag in third trimester.

Black Blouses, Jeans, and Pink Bags

Two black blouse, jeans, and pink bag outfits I wore to the office recently.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted magenta pink statement beaded necklace
Top: Kmart black batwing button up blouse
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Sometimes I struggle a bit picking a necklace for this blouse, but this pretty fuchsia statement necklace was perfect with it! I felt it added a pop of colour to the black blouse and grey jeans outfit even when I wasn't carrying around my pink Balenciaga city bag. That does add a big pop of colour too, but I don't carry it around the office, it sits on my desk.

Although the sorbet pink Balenciaga city bag and fuchsia necklace are different shades of pink, I thought they worked well together with the neutral outfit. I really liked the simplicity of this outfit, felt great in this all day.

Last worn: beaded necklace, batwing blouse, grey skinny jeans, black Converse, Balenciaga sorbet city bag.

Other ways to wearbatwing blouse and skirtgrey skinny jeans worn 30 ways, black Converse and maxi skirt, Balenciaga sorbet city bag worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimesterBalenciaga sorbet city bag at 37 weeks.

What I wore:

NecklaceTiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
TopJeanswest 'Tilda' black shirt
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony

Why I wore it:

I didn't like this outfit as much as the one above. Although the pink jeans are comfortable and the black blouse is a good basic piece, I just didn't enjoy wearing this as much as the outfit above. It's a shame this top isn't worn more often, being a black long sleeve blouse it's such a good basic. It just always seems to get passed over for more interesting tops. It's actually not been worn in years, so it's a piece that will be leaving my wardrobe. I'll donate it to the opshop.

Again I added another shade of pink to this outfit with the blush Rebecca Minkoff Darren messenger bag. It's not the same shade of pink as the jeans, but like the two different shades in the first outfit, I think the pinks looked good together. Simple outfit for another office day, even if I didn't like this as much as the first outfit.

Last worn: button detail blouse, Tiffany necklace, pink jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag.

Other ways to wearbutton detail blouse and skirt, pink jeans and knit, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancy: button detail blouse in third trimester.

Knits and Maxi Skirts

Making some of my maxi skirts work in Brisbane's winter by adding some cosy knitted jumpers on top for colourful winter outfits.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold heart and pearl earrings
Necklace: double circle hammered pendant necklace
Knit: thrifted Forever 21 wine ribbed knit jumper
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

This was a fun weekend day! I thought it might have been a bit too chilly to wear this maxi skirt but with the thick burgundy ribbed knit jumper on top, I felt nice and warm. I've worn the ochre maxi skirt with reds and burgundy shades before, I really like the combination and I loved this darker wine coloured burgundy knit against the orange, especially with the black and gold accessories.

We had a few errands to run in the morning, my son had some birthday gift cards to spend as he had picked what he wanted to use the cards on, so we did that and then took Bonnie to her last puppy training class. She graduated, very proud of her! She was surrendered twice to the shelter before we adopted her so it's awesome to see how much she is learning and growing with us.

Last worn: burgundy knit, heart and pearl earrings, double circle necklace, ochre maxi skirt, black Converse, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearburgundy knit and leopard print, ochre maxi skirt and cami, black Converse and dress, Mimco Mim-Mazing crossbody bag and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart pink resin teardrop statement earrings
ScarfAlexander McQueen modal skull scarf in white/pink
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
ShoesAdidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Another warm but colourful outfit! I wasn't sure if the cobalt marle knit and leopard print maxi skirt and pink skull scarf was too busy of an outfit all together, but I did really like the matching pink of the scarf and bag with this so gave it a go. I probably wouldn't wear the scarf and skirt together again, as it's a lot of print, but I'm glad I gave it a try at least.

Again it was a chilly and windy day, this cobalt knit was a great topper over the leopard print maxi skirt and I was warm for the school run, working from home, and then taking the kids out for a quick errand after school pick up.

Metallic Gold Tee Worn 2 Ways

I bought this gold linen tee at the outlets recently - I couldn't pass by how shiny it was, and for just $10! I'm finding it a little tricker to style than I first thought. I figured with metallic being a neutral it would work with everything, but so far I've just worn it with pink and blue.

What I wore:

Necklace: Jeanswest Taryn turquoise tassel bead necklace
Tee: Just Jeans Jamie shirt tail v neck tee in coated champagne gold (new purchase)
SkirtCotton On 'Mica' mesh spot skirt in dusty pink
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India

Why I wore it:

Thought I'd pair this tee with my pink polka dot pencil skirt for its first wear. I like tees and pencil skirts for office wear, it works in my casual office. I felt the metallic tee and the pale pastel pink polka dot pencil skirt seemed a little washed out, even with the black Converse, so I added some brighter turquoise accessories.

The matchy-matchy of the turquoise Balenciaga first bag and the turquoise and gold tassel necklace made me smile. I always love a bit of matchy-matchy!

Last worn: turquoise tassel necklace, pink polka dot pencil skirt, black Converse, Balenciaga Blue India first bag. First time I've worn the tee as it's a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearpink polka dot pencil skirt and blazer, black Converse and jeans, Balenciaga Blue India first bag and maxi skirt.

Perfect for pregnancypink polka dot skirt in first trimesterConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Jeanswest cobalt blue blazer (new purchase)
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Tee: Just Jeans Jamie shirt tail v neck tee in coated champagne gold
Jeans: thrifted Zara pink frayed hem skinny jeans
Shoes: thrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers (new purchase)
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

Another trip into the office for this metallic gold tee! This time, while I wore it again with pink, I covered it up a bit more with the blazer. Both the pink jeans and the cobalt blue blazer are recent opshop finds, as are the white leather Converse. I added a little more pink with the neutral wood and blush necklace, but I think a bolder necklace would have worked better here, it got lost in the tee a bit.

The pink jeans and cobalt blue blazer certainly added enough colour to make up for the lack of brightness in the necklace though, and I really liked this outfit! While the deep teal Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag doesn't match any of the other colours in my outfit, I've been wearing this bag a lot recent and think that - just like it does in this outfit - it goes with so much.

Last worn: blush necklace, gold tee (above), pink frayed hem jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag. First time I've worn the blazer and Converse on the blog as they are recent opshop finds.

Other ways to wearcobalt blazer worn two ways, pink frayed hem jeans with black, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and skirt.

Pink and Leopard Print Outfits With Sorbet Balenciaga City Bag

Two different outfits for working from home days with added appointments thrown in. Both featuring pink and leopard print, a combination I really enjoy wearing! And my pretty sorbet pink Balenciaga city bag that was due another wear.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted no label leopard print cover up with waist tie
Necklace: mixed metal hammered pendant necklace
Tee:  Cotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
Shorts: thrifted Jeanswest distressed denim shorts
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
Bracelets: the usual
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

Needed a comfortable and easy outfit for the school run, working from home, and a physio appointment. Again, I went for shorts and tee, which has become a go-to outfit formula for me this year!

It's not the first time I've worn this leopard print cover up with pink, I really like the combination. But it's the first time I've worn this awesome super-soft pink tee with it. With the print from the cover up, plain shorts were needed and these cuffed distressed denim shorts go with everything.

Last worn: leopard print cover up, gold and silver necklace, pale pink teedistressed denim shorts, Sketchers, Balenciaga sorbet city bag.

Other ways to wearleopard print cover up and teal, pale pink tee and jeans, distressed denim shorts and stripes, Sketchers and printed shorts, Balenciaga sorbet city bag worn 30 ways.

What I wore:

Necklace: Kmart black and gold double strand beaded necklace
TeeCle The Label Charlotte tee in ombre rose
Skirt: Target animal print ruffle hem mini skirt
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual plus faux pearl and gold beaded bracelet stack
BagBalenciaga RH classic city in 2010 sorbet

Why I wore it:

This was a very hot and humid day so I reached for this light skirt. It's a fun leopard print and it's great in the heat and humidity! Also nice and comfortable for the school run, working from home, a bit of driving around to take my son to an appointment, and the library after school. Big day!

I liked the simplicity of the ombre tee with the leopard skirt, I felt this outfit didn't need very much so I just added this little double strand beaded necklace and again my sorbet Balenciaga city bag. I like the different shades of pink together, with the ombre tee and the brighter pink on the Balenciaga bag.

Last worn: ombre pink tee, beaded necklace, leopard print skirt, tan slides, Balenciaga sorbet city bag (above).

Other ways to wearombre pink tee, leopard print skirt and denim jacket, tan slides and maxi skirtBalenciaga sorbet city bag worn 30 ways.
