What I wore:
Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacketNecklace: thrifted magenta pink statement beaded necklace
Dress: Jeanswest 'Chantelle' crochet detail blue printed maxi dress
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs logo plaque flats in camel
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral
Why I wore it:
Dressed up a little more than I usually would for a work from home day! This blue printed jersey maxi dress is so incredibly comfortable and was perfect for the school run, sitting at my desk all day, a zoom fashion launch, and taking my son to an appointment in the afternoon. A very busy day! I wanted something bright to wear for the zoom TVSN spring/summer fashion catalogue launch. I've been invited to the events before but it's in another state so I couldn't join. With the restrictions and it being online I was able to join this time! Conveniently over lunchtime, I was able to attend in the middle of the work day and ooh and aah over all the pretty fashion pieces (some very out of my budget though!) before diving back into work.I like pink with this blue maxi dress but I've never worn this particular magenta necklace with it before, and thought this would be a fun statement piece that was suitably bright for the summery designs we were shown. I really liked the combination, and couldn't resist adding even more colour with the little peach Rebecca Minkoff small love bag. I have paired this bag with pink sandals before and I enjoyed the colours together then too. Plus this bag was overdue a wear!
As it was a little cool for a sleeveless maxi dress, especially for the morning school run and afternoon appointment, I layered the denim jacket on top.
Last worn: heart earrings, moto denim jacket, magenta statement necklace, navy printed maxi dress, tan ballet flats, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag in pale coral.
Other ways to wear: moto denim jacket and striped dress, navy printed maxi dress and kimono, tan ballet flats and green jeans, Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag in pale coral and matching tee.
Perfect for pregnancy: navy printed maxi dress in third trimester, tan ballet flats in third trimester.
Handbag Tag: Most Used, Least Used and Cutest Bags In My Handbag Collection!
What I wore:
Tee: Atmos&Here charcoal grey v neck tee
Dress: Kmart Tropicana sleeveless tiered maxi dress
Shoes: Novo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus pearl and rose gold bracelet stack
Bag: Marc By Marc Jacobs Classic Q Fran bag with gold hardware in carob brown
Why I wore it:
This was a very fun day! Took the boys for a very overdue haircut and a tiny trim for myself - I am growing my hair out to donate it again but I need to get better at regularly getting it trimmed so it grows in healthier! After the haircut we wandered through the shopping centre to check out the opshop which was preloved book heaven - tables and tables of books. I tried to quickly browse through and pick up a few from authors I've enjoyed reading already, and the kids got a big book haul too!Had a wonderful picnic lunch as well, enjoying the summery feel of the day!
The only thing I didn't like about the summer-like spring day was that in an effort to try mix up this dress a little I wore the grey tee over it, and it turned into a much too hot and humid day to have added an extra layer! I did like the outfit, just not so much walking around outside in the heat.
Just like the Rebecca Minkoff small Love bag above, this Marc by Marc Jacobs Fran bag is definitely overdue a wear! I used to have a little collection of Marc by Marc Jacobs bags but this is the only one I have left now - and every time I use it I love it, it was nice to get it out again and I loved how it fit everything including all of our water bottles and some snacks inside. Have been using it more since, it was a good decision to get it out my handbag cupboard for this day!
Last worn: grey v-neck tee, pearl bracelet stack, Kmart floral maxi dress, gold sandals, Marc By Marc Jacobs Fran bag. First time I've worn the necklace as it was a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: grey v-neck tee and shorts, Kmart floral maxi dress and denim jacket, gold sandals and skinny jeans, Marc By Marc Jacobs Fran bag in capsule wardrobe.
Perfect for pregnancy: grey v-neck tee in second trimester, Marc By Marc Jacobs Fran bag in third trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
A maxi dress is easy to layer up in spring! Try a denim jacket over the top for a cooler day or a simple tee on a warmer day.

That blue dress is gorgeous Mica! What a beautiful deep color! have a great start of the week!
ReplyDeleteThat blue is so pretty on you! Perfect for a Zoom fashion show! I guess that is one of the nice things about this pandemic - we are getting to attend things virtually we wouldn't normally be able to attend. I am still anxious to get back to normal though! Thanks for the link up Mica and I hope your week is off to a great start!
ReplyDeletexo,
Kellyann
yes it was fun to get the chance to attend!
DeleteMica, you wear maxi dresses so well! I love the prints on both of these and I am always a fan of a moto jacket with a dress. I am loving the color of your jacket! And I really need to try layering sweaters or tees on top of dresses for a unique look. I love that!

Both looks are lovely Mica! That denim jacket really dresses up this first dress. So chic! Thanks for the link up!

love your dress and necklace! You look great!
ReplyDeleteLife is a Shoe
So fun you got to watch the fashion show over zoom! I love your blue maxi dress and layers! That peach bag is the perfect finishing touch!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
This reminds me that I need to get Jona in for a haircut too! Where does the time go? I love these looks--that first one is my favorite, just because I adore that jacket and the color of the necklace with that dress. Everything about it is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love how orange and blue came together in that first outfit! That blue maxi is perfect for you! How fun that you were able to join a lunchtime fashion event. That's the thing about zoom and other training and events, they are just much more accessible to everyone these days. Have a great week!

Ack! Had a long comment typed up then it disappeared:( Anyhoo....great outfits as always, and love the magenta with the blue for sure:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for typing another one! :)
DeleteI like the layered look for sure!
ReplyDeleteI really like the second look: the bright print is so pretty! And love the statement necklace with it. I have been giving the 3 youngest boys haircuts for the past 3 months in a attempt to save some money: prices have gone up and with a tip, it is just too much when I can do a decent job.

DeleteI don't trust myself trying to cut it myself - need a professional, haha!
hello Mica
ReplyDeleteyou are very chic in your first outfit, you with layered looks for spring and me with layered looks for autumn ahahah !!
Thanks for the invitation to the link up !!

That blue dress is really lovely - sometimes it's satisfying to dress up a bit to work from home (I've done it more than a few times).

Mica, you look amazing in both outfits! I have a maxi that's kinda in the same color fam as the maxi you wore with the denim jacket. I think I'm going to do a shoot of it soon. I visited the hairdresser after the longest time and found out my hair has evolved to become thinner in texture. My hairdresser said it's normal as we age. Hahah. I've always wanted soft hair so I don't mind it. She told me to come for regular trims if I want to grow out my hair. I got layers done and I'm glad that the bulk of my hair is no longer there as it's super hot here these days! :D I love the second outfit too. The floral skirt just pops out with the grey top :D
ReplyDeleteyes I need to try go for regular trims to keep my hair growing faster so I can donate it sooner! I am just not used to going so often!
DeleteLove both of your looks with printed maxi dresses, Mica! A zoom fashion show sounds like so much fun, a nice treat to break up the work day. I have learned to cut my husband's hair with the clippers during Covid, and it is coming out pretty well with practice. My own self hair cuts, though-yikes! I could use a professional as soon as the salons open back up.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a salon in seven months due to Covid
We are lucky our salons stayed open the whole time :)
DeleteI can't wait until I can start going back to browsing stores! It's really the little things like that you miss in crazy times like this. I always enjoy both of these dresses so it's great seeing all the different ways you style them!

Hope it gets safe enough for you to do that soon!
DeleteLove it. Beautiful.

Woah! That blue dress is INCREDIBLE. I absolutely love it! Such a gorgeous piece and that jacket over top is just perfection. Your style is always so fabulous. Love love love!
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Love both looks.. love how you have accessorized both outfits.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool you saw the fashion show over zoom! Love both looks!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful outfits Mica. Both dresses look gorgeous but I especially love the first one styled with the blue jacket. You always have the perfect bags to go with your outfits!
ReplyDeleteHope it's ok I linked up a yoga pants outfit for hiking today as it's not really a weekday wear outfit for me ... but maybe it is for some.

Of course it's okay! Thank you for linking up! :)
DeleteLove maxi's all year round- and especially this year! I have so many ideas on how to style them up. I love how you wore yours! xx

Love the tee over the maxi dress in the second look. Is that tee tucked in? So perfectly arranged at the waist!! Just love it.
ReplyDeleteIt's just rolled - it's a stretchy fabric so tends to stay in place if I roll it up.
DeleteIt's such a good idea to have a tee over a maxi dress! I guess you cold just remove it if it was to hot? I'm loving maxi dresses at the moment. I never used to wear them before but now I'm all about them haah.

Yes, a good reason to layer, easy to change up your outfit! :)
DeleteThe first outfit is my fave - these blues look so good on you, Mica! I really like how the peach and pinks pop off the blue too - a great combination of colours. In the second outfit, frankly, the grey tee looks dingy beside the vibrant colours of the dress, and I'm not sure that the brown bag works with all of it - it's a gorgeous colour and a lovely bag, but maybe not with grey? Regardless, I love your accessorizing in that outfit with the necklace and metallic shoes (well done!).
ReplyDeleteAw, good for you for growing your hair for donation again! Glad you restocked on your books! I have bags of them to donate, but am waiting for the pick-up service to resume as I don't have a car.
Have a wonderful week, and thank you so much for the link-up!
I do see what you mean! :) I just love both pieces though so I really liked them together :)
DeleteI love both looks here, Mica. If I hadn't seen the title of your post, the second outfit could very well have been a maxi skirt and tee, but since I know it's a maxi dress I'm hearing you on it being too warm for that almost summery day. I love the denim jacket worn over your first maxi dress, but most of all, I'm swooning over that gorgeous magenta necklace! Wishing you a lovely week ahead, Mica! xxx
ReplyDeleteAmei essa jaqueta! ♥
ReplyDeleteI have that moto jacket too and wear it with so much! I love the color. Perfect for all seasons. You look beautiful in blue!

ReplyDeleteLove your clever maxi dress layering, I would have never guessed the look with the tee wasn't with a skirt!
ReplyDeleteSuch beatiful colors in both maxis! And loving that pink necklace too <3

That jersey maxi dress is so pretty. I like the print and the colour. Blue suits you. The pink accessories are perfect with it. You look fantastic in this, such a great look for a busy day.
ReplyDeleteI also like the second combo of a basic tee and a maxi skirt. Very pretty.
I love how looking nice can still include being so comfortable with these kind of dresses Mica!!!

Such cute looks Mica, and I really really love the first one! The dress looks so good with that jacket. The fashion catalogue launch sounds very cool - I would love to hear more about it! And that's really cool you're growing your hair for donation. I always do that too and am definitely in need of a trim.

Love the blue dress - and I agree about maxis being comfortable. I've gravitated to them quite frequently this summer, we'll see how our winter goes. And of course, that maxi skirt is always a winner!

Your hair grows so fast - mine grows so slowly I would possibly only be able to donate it once every ten years.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've been thinking it's growing really slowly this time around!
DeleteI absolutely love your blue maxi dress, it's gorgeous, Mica! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you and you're having a great week, so far.

I love the blue maxi dress outfit. A family friend lives in S.Australia and told us how strict things still are, so I understand. The fashion launch on Zoom sounds fun!

DeleteWe are lucky most restrictions are lifted here in Queensland - we haven't had any virus cases in over 40 days in this state.
Looking so good in your maxi dresses Mica. I have seen how warm your days have been up there , ours are slowly warming up. Many thanks for hosting, enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance, the beautiful blue dress has a motif that looks like a crocodile skin motif ... is it true? Mix and match your clothes to look harmonious.
ReplyDeleteRegards.
It's more of a geometric print! :)
