Pink Tanks, Blue Printed Maxi Skirts and Navy Crossbody Bag

Two incredibly similar outfits, wearing hot pink tanks with blue printed maxi skirts and my little navy micro Bedford bag.

What I wore:

pink satin tank, tie dye maxi skirt, micro bedford bag | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight and tie dye maxi skirt | awayfromblue

Necklace: Uniquely Made with Love Sea Change necklace
TankAsos satin singlet in pink
Skirt: Jeanswest Farrah blue tie dye maxi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

Felt like it had been a while since I'd worn this pretty maxi skirt I scored from my sister's wardrobe clear out so I gave it another wear with pink, with this pink satin tank. I really love pink and blue together! This was a nice light outfit for a busy day, with the school run and working from home. Didn't need to carry much so this navy Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag was the perfect accessory - and it matches my navy Havaianas so well.

Last worn: pink satin singlet, beaded necklace, tie dye maxi skirt, navy Havaianas, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.

Other ways to wearpink satin singlet and pencil skirt, tie dye maxi skirt in monochromatic outfit, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and orange dress.

Perfect for pregnancypink satin tank in second trimester.

What's Inside: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford Bag

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Necklace: Kmart navy and gold beaded tassel necklace
Top: Willow & Thread hot pink tank from Sheila's wardrobe
Skirt: Ally Fashion blue border print floral maxi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

We had a couple of errands to run and a click and collect order to pick up while hubby dealt with our washing machine repair. As it was a warm day I thought a tank and maxi skirt combination would be good, and the perfect opportunity to give this tank a wear. It's one from Sheila's wardrobe she passed onto me when she sent me back the bag she decorated. It's definitely something that feels a bit to dressy for my day to day life, I think it would be great in an office, but I am determined to get more wear from it and tried to dress it down a little with this maxi skirt.

Not really confident this was the best outfit, but I love the colour of this tank so I'm determined to come up with more ways to wear it.

Last worn: navy beaded necklace, floral print maxi skirt, navy Havaianas (above), navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag (above). First time I've worn the tank as it's a recent addition to my wardrobe.

Other ways to wearfloral print maxi skirt and tee, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and chambray dress.

How You Can Wear It:

Pairing a printed piece like a maxi skirt with a plain block colour piece like these pink tanks is such an easy outfit formula! Perfect for a warm day.

Jeans, Jumpers, and Purple Scarves

Two very cosy outfits with some statement knits and skinny jeans on extra cold winter days recently here in Brisbane. Accessorised with pretty purple scarves for some more colour too!

What I wore:

metallic gold vintage knit jumper grey skinny jeans converse purple scarf and bag | awayfromblue

vintage gold knit with Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum and grey skinny jeans | awayfromtheblue

Scarf: Sportsgirl animal scarf in violet
Knit: thrifted vintage Haneli metallic gold knit jumper
Jeans: Jeanswest Cecile dove grey skinny jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote in plum

Why I wore it:

I loved how comfortable this outfit was! I had nothing terribly exciting planned, the school run, working from home and an appointment, so I just wanted to be cosy. This vintage metallic knit and the grey skinny jeans was a combination I wasn't too sure about, if it would be too like silver and gold together, but decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! I think the purple leopard print scarf and the purple Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB tote really pulled the outfit together, they were a nice pop of colour and coordinate well.

What I wore:

Scarf: thrifted checked purple pashmina scarf
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
JeansSass & Bide The Winning Day Lovestate jeans in magenta
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This outfit is exactly the same formula as the one above, but was even more colourful! It's not the first time I've worn this cobalt knit with the magenta jeans, I really like blue and pink together! Blue, pink and purple is an awesome combo so I decided to accessorise with this thrifted purple pashmina. I wasn't sure that the checked fabric would work with the marle on the knit, but again as with the outfit above I'm glad I tried it as I think it worked well! With the bright jeans, bright top and colourful purple scarf, I went with my neutral white Converse.

Couldn't decide on just the right bag for this outfit - I knew I needed a neutral one to balance out the colour a bit. Went with this little navy micro Bedford crossbody bag in the end - it does go with everything and I've worn it with these pink jeans and a blue leather jacket before so I knew it would be a good choice for this blue and pink outfit too!

Another quiet day - no working from home as it was the weekend, so just a couple of errands and a library trip with the boys. It was a little too chilly to stop in the playground, but perfect for snuggling up at home and reading the books we borrowed.

Last worn: purple pashmina, cobalt knit, magenta jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.

Other ways to wearpurple pashmina in monochrome outfit, cobalt knit and maxi skirt, magenta jeans and floral kimono, white Converse and skirt, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and chambray dress.

How You Can Wear It:

A cosy knitted jumper is an easy way to stay warm on a cold winter day, especially when paired with jeans. A colourful scarf can help keep you cosier too, and add a little more colour to your outfit, like these purple scarves do.

Printed Tees and Colourful Jeans With Navy Micro Regan Crossbody Bag

I wore these two jeans and tee outfits back on warmer autumn days a few weeks ago, when I didn't need any extra layers. Although very different they both follow the same simple formula of colourful jeans and a printed tee, and my Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag.

What I wore:

sass bide neon orange leopard print tee with olive jeans converse and micro bedford bag | awayfromblue

olive jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: Kmart navy and gold beaded tassel necklace
TeeSass and Bide 'New Day Rising' tee in orange leopard print
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! I wanted to try wear these jeans with something a bit different, so went with this neon orange leopard print tee. I've worn orange with these olive jeans only a few times, but I really like the combination! I think the neutral denim is a good match with the bright statement tee.

Kept everything else neutral in this outfit too, to let the tee shine. With the navy necklace, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag, and the white Converse. Was a nice and comfortable outfit for working from home, with the school run, a quick stop at the shops in the afternoon and sports in the evening.

My son discovered a mantis in our garden which laid eggs before it went away so he was very excited to go to Petbarn to stock up on everything the baby mantids will need when they hatch. And I have to give credit to the wonderful employee who was very understanding and who gave me multiple options and price points for everything, so I wasn't spending hundreds on housing a little mantis egg pouch 😂 We have since added two mantids to our "collection" but the babies haven't hatched just yet!

Last worn: neon leopard print tee, navy beaded tassel necklace, olive skinny jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag.

Other ways to wearneon leopard print tee and denim skirt, olive skinny jeans worn 30 ways, white Converse and striped dress, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag with green.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford Bag Review:

What I wore:

navy stripe tee with micro bedford crossbody bag and burgundy jeans converse autumn mum style | awayfromblue

burgundy jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
TeeAtmos&Here navy stripe v-neck tee
Jeans: Jeanswest Harper skinny pant in Russet
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This was another working from home day with the school run, although when I went to pick the kids up in the afternoon I did wish I'd added an extra layer with this, it wasn't as warm a day as the one above! I liked the simplicity of this outfit, with the matchy-matchy of the navy striped tee and navy Micro Bedford bag together. I like wearing blue and red together, and these pants work well with both the navy and the brighter blue of the Converse sneakers.

I thought the silver circle necklace was a nice matchy-matchy choice with the circle zipper pull on the Micro Bedford bag too.

Last worn: navy stripe tee, silver circle necklace, burgundy jeans, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag (above).

Other ways to wearnavy stripe tee and maxi skirt, burgundy jeans and floral duster, blue Converse and navy dress, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford bag and shorts.

Perfect for pregnancynavy stripe tee in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Jeans and a tee is a staple outfit formula! You can change it up a little each time you wear it with other colours of denim and not just classic blue, and try a printed tee to make it seem even more different too.

Casual Summer Christmas Outfits | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, two fun festively themed outfits for summer Christmas events earlier on in December. One very festive one, and the second one a bit more subtle. The second one is a little weekend outfit sneaking into the link up too!

What I wore:

summer festive outfit merry Christmas tee ribbon bracelet navy crossbody bag sneakers | awayfromblue blog

red maxi skirt with Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight | awayfromtheblue

Earrings: Colette Ciao Bella glitter ball drop earrings
Necklace: layered Tai gold alphabet necklaces
Tee: Merry Christmas deer antler tee
Skirtthrifted Billabong 'Don't Think Of It' bikini red printed maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Christmas ribbon bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This was a busy day! After an event earlier in the day I got changed later that afternoon into this Christmas-y outfit for our annual trip to Movie World's White Christmas event. They decorate the theme park for Christmas, play Christmas carols and they even have fake snow falling. It's magical and I really missed it last year. While we had no restrictions on at the time or Covid cases, with everything that happened in 2020 I figured we'd skip the crowds that year. I definitely missed it though and was so glad we went this year!

When my mum gave me this tee she made as an early Christmas present I knew that the red maxi skirt would be perfect for it. Added the delicate gold necklaces and the fun gold bauble earrings and it was perfectly themed for the evening! We had the usual backpack with all our water bottles so I picked this little Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag to wear as it fit all my essentials and my camera in it, although I didn't take too many pics in the end. The comfortable Adidas superstar sneakers were appreciated as we did a lot of walking around.

The kids managed to fit in quite a lot of rides before a storm blew in and the rides were closed for the rest of the night safety reasons. It worked out well though. We were able to watch the Polar Express movie the kids love so much in 4D and then grab some dinner before sitting undercover and watching the big parade at the end of the night, all great timing! Such a fun night.

What I wore:

Kmart teal tropical notch neck floral maxi dress with rebecca minkoff love too bag | awayfromblue

floral maxi dress and Rebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather | awayfromtheblue

Earrings: gold pendant chandelier earrings
Dress: Kmart teal tropical notch neck floral maxi dress
Belt: came with dress
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Love Too in deep teal croc embossed leather

Why I wore it:

This is a much more subtle Christmas outfit! I've worn this dress for Christmas day before, with the teal and red it's very festively themed, but it's a dress I've worn at other times of year too. It's hard to see in the first pic with my hair in the way but I decided to keep it really simple and just add a pair of gold earrings and no necklace. I thought the rose gold sandals were a nice pairing with the gold earrings too!

Although the deep teal of the Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag is a very different shade from the teal of the maxi dress, they are a nice pairing together. I really like wearing this bag with green and blue and I've been wearing it a lot recently! The black hardware means it goes with everything.

I also carried a little tote bag with me for the kids water bottles and some books to entertain them for church in the morning. There was a Christmas party after church in the evening too, although I was a little worried about the weather and possible storms. I even belted the dress to create a blouson effect with the top and make sure the hem stayed off the ground. Thankfully it was a rain free afternoon, although the winds picked up a bit later the storms held off until the kids were home in bed. This outfit is just perfect for both church in the morning and then a Christmas party in the evening!

Last worn: gold earrings, teal floral maxi dress, gold sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag.

Other ways to wearteal floral maxi dress, gold sandals and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff Love Too bag and jeans.

How You Can Wear It:

Christmas is a fun time to break out the red and green! A red maxi skirt and a Christmas tee is a great way to look suitably festive for summer, but you can go more subtle too by throwing on a dress that works for any time of year that has both green and red in the print.

Dresses With Scarves, Denim Jacket And Micro Bedford Bag | Weekday Wear Link Up

Making the most of spring and wearing some pretty dresses with denim jackets, and my little Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag. Added scarves to deal with the (still a little cool) spring temperatures at the start of September in Brisbane.

What I wore:

denim jacket, navy star print scarf, kmart amber tiered midi dress, sneakers, micro bedford crossbody bag | awayfromtheblue

Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey midi dress in amber
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This was such a fun day! We took advantage of a pupil free day where we all also had the day off to take the kids out to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo. It's been a few years since we were last there even though it's just over an hour away from us.

With it being a warmer day I dressed in layers to keep warm in the cooler morning, but so I could take them off and on through the day. The light navy star print scarf was just perfect, although it did cover up the carefully picked out necklaces I was wearing, including my silver giraffe necklace.

I wore that necklace on a previous trip to the zoo while pregnant with my now 7 year old, where we were lucky enough to feed a giraffe then. We did that again this time, and the kids got to have a go too. It was so much fun, big thank you to my mum and sister for getting us the tickets!

The little Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag was a nice colour with the denim jacket and navy scarf, and perfect for my essentials and camera. I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack too as it fit all the water bottles and snacks for us all, but the little crossbody bag kept my camera handy. I took hundreds of photos as usual! It's not every day you get to feed a giraffe though.

DressAsos grey skater dress
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

After the previous day at the zoo, this day needed to be much more relaxed! Stuck with a similar outfit formula again, although with this shorter grey skater dress, a white denim jacket instead, and this fun striped scarf. I really like pink and grey together.

It turned into a really warm day though, the denim jacket didn't stay on long!

We popped out to the opshop to check out one of their sales, where I picked up a really cute skirt for just $1! Then it was grabbing some last minute groceries, a trip to the library and a play in the playground before heading home for lunch. Ended up having to put the bandage on my knee to support it after all the walking around at the zoo the day before, but I could rest it in the afternoon when we stayed home.

Last worn: white denim jacket, striped scarf, grey skater dress, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford (above).

Other ways to wearwhite denim jacket with jeans, striped scarf and pencil skirt, grey skater dress worn 2 ways, Adidas Superstar sneakers and midi dress, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford and shorts.

How You Can Wear It:

Dresses and denim jackets are spring staples! A fun printed scarf is a great extra layer to wear in this season as it can easily be removed and put in your bag when it warms up later in the day.

Embroidered Tops, Denim Jackets, Maxi Skirts and Micro Bedford Bag: Weekday Wear Link Up

Getting a couple more wears from my denim jackets before winter really set in here in Brisbane at the start of June! They are a nice light layer for these embroidered tops and maxi skirt outfits with Converse and my little Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.

What I wore:

denim jacket, embroidered tank and ruffle hem maxi skirt outfit for winter | away from blue

black maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Tank: Target embroidered khaki tank
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

While I've worn this olive tank with a black maxi skirt before, it's the first time I've paired it with this particular maxi skirt. I really liked the combination - with the black embroidery on the olive tank, wearing it with more black is such an obvious choice. While it was a warmer autumn day I still needed something to cover up my arms, so I went with this classic denim jacket that works with everything. See 30 different ways to wear it here.

With the blue denim jacket, the neutral navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag was a nice matchy-matchy option. I didn't need to carry much either as it was a quieter day with just the school drop off, helping in my son's classroom and then relaxing with the little one before school pick up and sports in the evening.

Last worn: denim jacket, olive embroidered tank, black ruffle hem maxi skirt, Converse, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.

Other ways to weardenim jacket worn 30 ways, olive embroidered tank and shorts, black ruffle hem maxi skirt and graphic tee, Converse and printed dress, navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and jeans.

Perfect for pregnancydenim jacket in second trimester, Converse in second trimester.

Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford Review

What I wore:

awayfromblue Instagram | white denim jacket with navy embroidered tunic, red printed maxi skirt and navy micro bedford bag

ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

Unlike the first outfit above, I wasn't so confident this would work. The embroidered navy tunic is so pretty but with the print on the maxi skirt I wasn't sure if it was too busy. I'm so glad I gave this a go though, really liked it. The white denim jacket pulled it all together nicely and I do always like navy with this skirt. Again, the Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag was a bit of matchy-matchy with the navy top. Even though the Converse are a different shade of blue from the blue in the embroidery I thought they went well with this too.

Had a busy day! After school drop off the little one and I spent some time visiting my mum at her work, and then we had to go drop some books off at the library. I'd made it to my mum's work okay with the GPS (I've only been there a handful of times) but heading to the library instead of back home was tricky. At one point the GPS tracker line just jumped off the road and piled up into a big scribble. Never seen that before! Anticipating that it would just recalculate I tried to go further down what I thought was the right road and it tried to catch up but then the line just stopped....so I ended up pulling off onto a side road and trying to figure the route out myself as it yelled conflicting nonsensical directions at me. Even my son in the back of the car was getting annoyed in the end and kept asking when we would be there at the library already 😂We made it in the end, even if we took the very long scenic route!

How You Can Wear It:

An embroidered top and a maxi skirt make for an easy, boho outfit. You can add a denim jacket as an simple layer for a cooler day too that won't clash with any embroidery or print you have in your outfit.

Blue Knits With Different Shades Of Green and Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford Bag

Wore these cosy blue jumper outfits a couple weeks ago, when the end of autumn started to bring some unexpected winter temperatures and had me reaching for the winter knits. Blue and green work well together, as these outfits show.

What I wore:

navy ombre stripe knit pullover jumper with green jeans Adidas superstar and Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag | awayfromblue

blue knit with Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight | awayfromtheblue

NecklaceHouse of Harlow sunburst necklace in silver and grey
Knit: Jeanswest Beth ombre stripe knit pullover jumper in navy from my sister's wardrobe
Jeans: thrifted ASOS petite green skinny jeans
Shoesthrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

It was a particularly cold - and as you can probably tell from the pic - slightly windy morning! We had a couple errands to run but started the day off at our favourite trail first. The trees protected us from the breeze nicely and I ended up rolling up the sleeves on my jumper - maybe a bit too hot for both jeans and a knit on a bushwalk. Definitely appreciated the long sleeves and long pants later in the day when it cooled off though!

Since I had the blue knit and green jeans I decided to stick with this neutral navy bag. The Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford looks good against the green and compliments the blues in the knit nicely. The silver hardware was a bit of matchy-matchy with the silver sunburst necklace too.

Last worn: sunburst necklace, green jeansAdidas Superstar, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag. First time I've worn the jumper as I just got it recently from my sister's wardrobe clear out.

Other ways to weargreen jeans worn 30 ways, Adidas Superstar and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag and floral dress.

What's In My Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford:

What I wore:

ScarfFashion Scarf Girl colourful print scarf in green
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
BagRebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:

This was an interesting day! I'd swapped my days around at the office for that week to support a milestone for my project at work so I was working from home, and thankfully my sister was free to watch the little one. It was hectic, but I was able to get a couple breaks in the day by dropping my eldest off at school in the morning and then heading out later with my sister to get takeaway for lunch. Even if she did get to sit and enjoy it with my youngest while I ate mine through a meeting at my desk in the home office 😅 Thankfully my sister did the school pick up for me in the afternoon, and I logged off just in time to make dinner before sports in the evening.

While I really appreciated the scarf in the cooler morning dropping off my son at school, it and the knit together were much too hot by lunchtime, and I spent the afternoon without the scarf for a bit. Definitely needed it back on for sports at night though!

I thought I'd try multiple shades of green in this outfit with the olive shorts and different colours of green in the print of the scarf. Surprisingly really liked this outfit, much more than I thought I would! I think the blue bits in the scarf complimented the cobalt knit and navy Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag nicely.

Last worn: cobalt knit, green pattern scarf, olive shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford (above).

Other ways to wearcobalt knit with orange, green pattern scarf with monochrome grey outfit, olive shorts and kimono, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford and chambray dress.

Perfect for pregnancycobalt knit and hidden baby bump.

How You Can Wear It:

Any shade of blue works with any shade of green! You can see that in the first outfit with the brighter green jeans paired with the different shades of blue in the ombre stripe knit. Or in the second outfit, with the cobalt knit and olive shorts and different green shades in the print of the scarf.
