What I wore:
Necklace: Kelly's Kloset rainbow layered necklace
Dress: Atmos&Here navy stripe tee dress
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Balenciaga First bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
Was excited it was cool enough to get this navy striped shift dress out again, one of my favourites! It looks so good with Converse so they were the obvious choice, even though the blue is a different shade from both the navy dress and the turquoise bag. This outfit did seem a little muted though so I added some extra colour with this bright beaded statement necklace I got from the kids last Mother's day. It was just the right little pop against this darker dress. Perfect outfit for church.Last worn: earrings, navy striped tee dress, beaded necklace, blue Converse, Balenciaga Blue India First bag.
Other ways to wear: navy striped tee dress and denim jacket, blue Converse and midi skirt, Balenciaga Blue India First bag and blazer.
Perfect for pregnancy: navy striped tee dress in second trimester.
What's In My Balenciaga First Bag:
What I wore:
Dress: thrifted Kmart white and navy long sleeve stripe tee dress
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Balenciaga first bag in 2006 Blue India
Why I wore it:
In hindsight, a white dress probably wasn't the smartest choice for this day! The kids had a school holiday workshop in the morning and then after lunch we headed to a friend's house for a playdate. We had planned to go to a local park but the cold and rainy weather made us decide an indoor playdate was better! Thankfully despite the rain and the activities at the workshop I was able to keep this white dress clean, but that was more luck than anything, especially when my son enjoyed some chocolatey treats my friend made for afternoon tea while he sat on my lap!Just like the striped dress outfit above, I thought this outfit could do with a little extra colour, and this orange necklace I thrifted last year was perfect, even though it doesn't match anything else in the outfit. Again I stuck with Converse, as there was a bit of driving to do.
Last worn: white and navy striped dress, orange beaded necklace, Converse, Balenciaga Blue India First bag (above).
Other ways to wear: white and navy striped dress and scarf, Converse and jeans, Balenciaga Blue India First bag and shorts
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
A classic striped dress is a great canvas for some bright accessories, like a statement necklace or colourful bag! And Converse are always a comfortable choice.

I really like the first outfit, it looks comfortable yet elegant. No mean feat for something involving Converse!
ReplyDeleteConverse are definitely comfortable, elegant needs a bit of help from a pretty dress, haha!

I absolutely love it how you styled your blue Converse (a classic shoe if you ask me) with an elegant bag (and it's my favorite Balenciaga model ever still). You totally rock the gentle blue shades.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny but every time I wear white dress (it only applies to the dress oddly) I always regret because it turns out to be a 'dirty' day
Yes it's hard for me to keep white clothing clean, haha! I got lucky on this day for sure!
DeleteYou look so cute! Love that bag. Have a lovely week!

I'm always a bit uninspired at the end of a season and I always look forward to wearing the other half of my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteYour first outfit is my favourite, even if I would have - surprise! - added a bit more colour myself. I had to giggle at you wearing a white dress with your son eating chocolate while sitting on your lap. You were very lucky indeed :-) I always manage to spill something whenever I'm wearing white! xxx
Yes I'm usually a bit clumsy with white so I'm glad it survived the chocolate, haha!
DeleteThe colder month are always the hardest month to dress for. Hope you are doing well.
