My sister is friends with Queenie and so was able to request this kimono be made for me for Christmas! I'm so lucky! While Queenie designs and makes these beautiful kimonos, they provide styling advice too. You can even hire outfits for special events. My sister has hired a gorgeous sequin duster from Queenie for an event in the past. The styling in these outfits is all mine so I hope I do Queenie's artwork justice! Both of these outfits made me smile, and those around me smile too, so I feel they were successes!

Why I wore it:
A beautiful kimono like this is made for dancing really, not for errands, a trip to the library, and new year's eve sparklers in the back yard. But NYE was the perfect excuse for me to wear this for the first time, and I got so many compliments on it when running errands. It's beautiful!Kept it really simple with a black and white outfit to let the kimono shine. It's such a good topper over a white tee and distressed denim skirt. Added a little more colour with the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, although a black bag would have been perfect with this too.
Last worn: white tee, Tiffany heart necklace, Nobody Denim skirt, studded sandals, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag. First time I've worn the kimono as it was a Christmas present from my sister.
Other ways to wear: white tee and midi skirt, Nobody Denim skirt and floral duster, studded sandals and maxi dress, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and matching scarf.
Perfect for pregnancy: studded sandals in second trimester.

My Kimono Jacket Collection:
What I wore:
Necklace: Colette marble and gold pendant drop long necklace
Dress: Kmart Aztec print tiered little black dress
Shoes: slim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware
Why I wore it:
Wearing this sequin kimono again, with a monochrome black outfit. This day was another that didn't really call for a sequin kimono, but I wanted to wear it anyway, it just makes me feel so happy! We had a pool party in the morning then a school holiday event at the library in the afternoon. The light sundress was perfect as a bikini cover up. The kimono felt a little extra, but I loved the way it sparkled in the sun and it really stood out against the monochrome black outfit with the little black dress and black Rebecca Minkoff tote bag.
Something this pretty and sparkly deserves to be worn a lot!

How You Can Wear It:
Some days just call for a little extra sparkle! Keeping your outfit to classic neutrals of black and white lets a sequin kimono - or any other colourful cover up - really shine!
Wow what an amazing statement piece I love it! Love how you've styled it too.
