Casual Christmas Red & Green Maxi Skirt Outfits

I had a lot of fun wearing these outfits! Red and green skirts with printed tees for some Christmas events before the big day. Hope you are having a wonderful time celebrating Christmas with your loved ones.

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart glitter gingerbread man earrings
Necklace: Tiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
Tee: Merry Christmas deer antler tee
Skirt: thrifted NWT Beginning Boutique Sahara red-orange maxi skirt
Shoesthrifted white leather Chuck Taylor All Star Converse sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus thrifted cream resin bangle duo set and Polka Luka resin bangles in red and teal
BagMIMCO Mim-Mazing crossbody bag in black and light gold

Why I wore it:

Had to break out this Christmas tee again that mum made me, for our annual family Christmas trip to the Movie World White Christmas evening event. This year we surprised the boys by going down earlier in the day, before the evening event started, so we had some extra time at the theme park.

I thought the cotton tiered maxi skirt would keep me cool and comfortable, as it was such a humid day. We kept cool by drinking lots of water, and you got a good breeze on the rollercoasters!

To make my outfit a little more Christmas-like I added the resin bangle sets, and just wore my little black Mimco bag for my camera and essentials. I carried a big reusable tote bag for our water bottles, which were refilled frequently.

The only thing I regretted about this outfit was the glitter gingerbread earrings. Perfectly on-theme for the evening's event, but not the best choice when they were flying around in my face on all the rollercoasters, ha!

Last worn: gingerbread earrings, Tiffany necklace, cream resin bracelet stack, red and green resin bracelets, reindeer tee, tiered maxi skirt, white leather Converse, Mimco crossbody bag.

Other ways to wearreindeer tee and shorts, tiered maxi skirt in winter, white leather Converse, Mimco crossbody bag and blazer.

What I wore:

Earrings: DIY green clay Christmas tree earrings
Tee: Jeanswest Kaylin star foil grey tee
Skirt: Kmart breeze green broderie anglaise midi skirt
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red

Why I wore it:

I wasn't too sure this outfit would work but I was eager to give it a try! I really like this green broderie skirt around Christmas time, although it is something I wear other times of the year too, it gets a work out in December! Last time I wore this skirt with a printed top I wasn't too happy with the final result, but I liked the subtle gold foil star print on this tee and thought it wasn't too busy with the broderie fabric of the skirt, so I was happy to wear it.

We had a couple of errands to run in the morning, and then in the afternoon and evening we went to the local carol service. I added a little extra festive colour with the red Rebecca Minkoff saddle bag, and I wore my clay Christmas tree earrings even though they didn't match the green of the skirt exactly. Thankfully the storm held off so we got to enjoy the carols and the closing fireworks before the rain arrived on our drive home.

Last worn: Christmas tree earrings, star foil print tee, broderie skirt, rose gold sandals, Rebecca Minkoff studded saddle bag.

Other ways to wearstar foil print tee with black, broderie skirt and blazer, rose gold sandals and shortsRebecca Minkoff saddle bag worn 30 ways.

What I Wore For Christmas Day, Eve and Boxing Day

Finally getting around to sharing what I wore for Christmas! Always feels strange sharing Christmas outfits in January, but I'm never to up to date with blogging what I've worn. I hosted Christmas for the family this year so I'm sharing my Christmas eve and Christmas day outfits, as well as what I wore to the in-laws when we celebrated with that side of the family on Boxing day.

What I wore:

Earrings: gold angel stud earrings (Christmas present)
Necklace: double circle hammered pendant necklace (Christmas present)
Dress: Iris Maxi The Label flora print blue and white mini dress (Christmas present)
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides (Christmas present)
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
BagRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold

Why I wore it:

I had planned my Christmas outfit in advance, and then I unwrapped this dress on Christmas day from my sister and knew I just had to wear this instead! It does come with a belt (and has belt loops on the side) but I figured for Christmas day feasting it was best to wear it unbelted. This was beautiful, light and flowy and oh so perfect for a humid Christmas. We were very lucky to avoid major damage from the Christmas day storms that evening.

The sandals and the necklace are both new, from my parents. The Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch is an old favourite, especially for Christmas. I didn't really need a bag as we stayed home, enjoying time with the family, eating yummy food, only minorly burning the lunch, and watching the kids enjoy all their new toys and presents.

Last worn: Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch. First time I've worn the dress, necklace and sandals as they were Christmas presents.

Other ways to wearRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch and maxi dress.

What Fits Inside: Rebecca Minkoff Leo Envelope Clutch

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart glitter gingerbread man earrings
Tee: festive glitter Santa tee
Skirt: thrifted SES Fashions vertical stripe maxi skirt
Shoesblack slim Havaianas thongs
Bracelets: the usual
BagMulberry Lily in maroon metallic suede leopard

Why I wore it:

I wore this for Christmas eve. My sister bought my mum and I these festive tees 10 years ago, they are still going strong! It's a nice tradition to get to wear it. Sadly, the little festive bracelets haven't fared so well and mine is getting harder to wear as the elastic dries out.

As well as baking and decorating a huge pile of Christmas cookies, we made some Christmas deserts, ate lots of snacks, and spent our time doing Christmas craft and watching Christmas movies. It was a really fun way to spend Christmas eve and I look forward to this each year - it's such a special day. Somehow preparing all the food for Christmas eve seems less stressful than preparing Christmas day lunch!

This year we got a make your own Christmas earring kit for one of our crafts and had a lot of fun with it - quite pleased with some of the pieces I made! My mum, sister and I all have matching handmade earrings now.

Last worn: festive Santa tee, striped maxi skirt, Havaianas, Mulberry leopard print Lily bag. First time I've worn the earrings as they were a recent purchase.

Other ways to wearfestive Santa tee and shorts, striped maxi skirt and denim jacket, Mulberry leopard print Lily bag and maxi dress.

Perfect for pregnancyfestive Santa tee in second trimester.

What I wore:

Earrings: DIY green clay Christmas tree earrings
NecklaceStarfish Project Hannah turquoise bead necklace
Dress: thrifted peach and white floral print tiered sundress
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual plus Polka Luka resin bangles in red, orange and teal
BagRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold

Why I wore it:

This is another more casual Christmas outfit! I wore this to go celebrate Christmas with the in-laws on Boxing day. They have their celebration a day later which works out well for everyone. It was a bit of an eventful day, with the Boxing Day storms. It had been a little rumbly and there was some rain for most of the day, but it wasn't too bad until the next wave of storms came over bringing hail. Lots of scrambling to try cover up the cars as with everyone there we couldn't all fit in the garage. Luckily, the hail didn't get big enough to cause any damage. It did make for an interesting drive home later that night though, with debris all over the roads and power and traffic light outages. I somehow also managed to cover the back of my dress in mud - unsure if it was when I was putting the cover on the car in the hail or taking it off after the storm, but thankfully it's all washed out.

As it was such a hot and humid day, again I changed up what I planned to wear and went with this super light tiered sundress. I've added red and green to it before and think the colours work surprisingly well with the orange palm print. So I added the green beaded necklace, red and teal resin bracelet stack, and although it's a little tricky to see, my new Christmas tree earrings I'd made a couple days before on Christmas eve. I thought they matched the necklace nicely. I also wore my new sandals again. The Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch got another wear, as I didn't need to carry much, just the essentials. I had a separate bag for our snack contributions to add to the festive food spread.

Last worn: tiered sundress, green necklace, resin bracelet stack, sandals (above), Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch (above). First time I've worn the earrings as I made them on Christmas eve.

Other ways to weartiered sundress layered with a knit, Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch and pink dress.

Hopefully you had a fun Christmas with your loved ones, and were not impacted by any of the storms.

What I Wore For Christmas: Coral Dresses and Gold Clutch | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, I'm sharing what I wore for Christmas, even though it was one  weekend. Wearing two beautiful coral Kmart dresses that my mum got me this year (one of which I got for Christmas) to celebrate Christmas Day at our house, and then another for a Boxing Day celebration with the in-laws.

What I wore:

summer christmas day outfit kmart tiered dress santa hat gold envelope clutch sandals | awayfromblue

coral tiered dress and Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold | awayfromtheblue

Hat: Santa hat (gift from my sister)
Necklace: thrifted gold and cream multi strand pearl necklace
Dress: Kmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
BagRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold

Why I wore it:

Christmas day started off far too early! The kids were up at 4.45am, ready to open all the presents, while I definitely could have slept a lot longer. There was no chance of getting up before them to get ready, so we hung out in our pyjamas and then after the present opening and a relaxed breakfast we all got dressed for the day. I'd planned to wear this pretty coral dress as I knew it would look so nice with this statement metallic necklace and the champagne gold envelope clutch.

We were aiming to get to church, but with my son being in hospital on Christmas eve we decided it was best to stay home. Definitely worth getting dressed up still though, I'd been planning this outfit for so long. I really liked it, even if I didn't get to wear it outside (other then the trip to the bin with the discarded wrapping paper!). It made me smile that my sister was wearing a red dress too, although I forgot to grab a photo of us together.

I definitely did a better job of cooking Christmas dinner than the first attempt I had a few years ago, but there is still room for improvement! Cooking is not my strong skill, but it was edible and people had seconds, which is a win. The leftovers kept us fed for a couple days after too!

What I wore:

Earrings: Kmart gold circle glitter resin statement earrings
Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
Dress: Kmart red flora printed wrap dress
ShoesRebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
BagRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold

Why I wore it:

Again this year we had a delayed Christmas celebration at the in-laws on Boxing Day. We had been shopping in Kmart a few months ago when I spotted this dress on the sales rack and mum grabbed it for me - when I unwrapped it I knew it would be perfect for our second Christmas! Even though Christmas at the in-laws is more relaxed, I felt this pretty coral print wrap dress fitted in nicely, and again I wore my little gold envelope clutch as it goes with everything.

It's sadly hard to see the earrings in the photo, but I'm wearing the gold resin earrings my mum got me for Christmas too.

Last worn: charm necklace, Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch (above), studded sandals. First time I've worn the dress and the earrings as they were Christmas gifts.

Other ways to wearRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch and mint dressstudded sandals worn 30 ways.

How You Can Wear It:

A little red dress will always work for a summer Christmas - but coral dresses work too, as you can see in these outfits! Adding some metallic accessories is a nice way to dress up for a more formal Christmas celebration.

Casual Christmas Outfits With Festive Tees and Shorts

Two casual festive tee and shorts outfits I wore for Christmas, for two very different days!

What I wore:

movie world white christmas outfit olive shorts red tote crossbody and festive reindeer tee | awayfromblue

olive shorts and Rebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag | awayfromtheblue

Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
Tee: Merry Christmas deer antler tee
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff red micro Avery cross body bag

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a night out to Movie World for the annual White Christmas event. It's become a tradition, and it's so much fun! They have fake snow, the rides are open, there is a parade at the end of the night. We had a really good time, as always!

Wanted to be very Christmassy but also comfortable as it was such a humid evening - it ended up raining during the parade but we luckily had a spot undercover.

This little Rebecca Minkoff Avery tote bag is a great crossbody as it fits my essentials and my camera for the evening. I've worn it to this event before in a previous year. And with the red festive tee and the olive green shorts, it was a very Christmas-y outfit.

Last worn: festive reindeer tee, gold charm necklace, olive shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Avery tote.

Tee: festive glitter Santa tee
Shorts: Jeanswest Parker printed shirred short
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual plus Christmas ribbon bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

This was an utterly exhausting day. It was Christmas eve, and as we were hosting Christmas at our place this year it was going to be a fun food and family filled day. Unfortunately my son needed to be rushed to the hospital and we ended up spending most of the day there. Thankfully the doctors and nurses got on top of things so we could return home later in the afternoon for Christmas eve!

When I got home and got my son settled I quickly changed from the clothes I'd grabbed at the last minute that morning into this more festive Santa glitter tee and these cute black printed shorts. Thankfully I'd planned my outfit out in advance. As we were spending the afternoon at home I didn't really need a bag, but had this one in the photos anyway as I'd grabbed it in the morning and filled it with water bottles and books and snacks in case we had a long stay at the hospital. I was regretting not filling it with more food in fact!

It was a bit of a more rushed Christmas eve than usual but we tried to make it special for the kids, and we were just grateful we could be at home together for it in the end.

Last worn: gold bauble earrings, green festive Santa tee, black printed shorts, ribbon bracelet, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff black unlined tote.

Other ways to weargreen festive Santa tee and maxi skirt, black printed shorts and cardigan, Rebecca Minkoff black unlined tote and midi dress.

Perfect for pregnancygreen festive Santa tee and maxi skirt.

How You Can Wear It:

For a summer Christmas, a festive tee and cute shorts is the perfect casual outfit!

Chloe Marcie and Dresses For Christmas Events

Today I'm sharing two pretty Kmart dresses I wore for two Christmas events recently, both outfits accessorised with my Chloe Marcie shoulder bag.

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper glass beaded chandelier earring in cream and gold
Dress: Kmart teal tropical notch neck floral maxi dress
ShoesRebecca Minkoff Georgina studded gladiator sandals in blush
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and gold leaf bangle
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

This was really fun - our vet was doing a fundraiser and Santa paws photos, so we got all dressed up for our annual family photo. We did not bring the kid's insect menagerie along, Cooper is a handful enough! It was really fun and we got so many great photos.

We had to stop at the library on our way home and I felt a little overdressed for that, with the floral maxi dress and the big statement earrings. But it was perfect for our Christmas photos!

With the gold beads in the earrings and the gold hardware on the Chloe Marcie bag, I added this little gold leaf bangle to be even more matchy-matchy too.

Last worn: beaded statement earrings, floral maxi dress, studded sandals, Chloe Marcie bag.

Other ways to wearfloral maxi dress for Christmas day, studded sandals worn 30 ways, Chloe Marcie bag and jeans.

My Chloe Handbag Collection:

What I wore:

NecklaceStarfish Project Hannah turquoise bead necklace
Dress: Kmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe Marcie medium shoulder bag in nut

Why I wore it:

Wore this for a quiet morning at home, followed by a very fun afternoon at Carols by Candlelight. There were rides, food trucks, craft stations...the kids had a blast, and I enjoyed the carol service in the evening while the kids enjoyed swinging around the little electric candles they were given. There was even a fireworks show at the end.

It was a very humid day so I didn't need an extra layer, but thought this maxi dress was a good choice as it covered my legs to avoid the mozzies without me overheating. With the coral red of this dress, the green beaded necklace seemed like a fun nod to Christmas too! I had the big Chloe Marcie bag for all our water bottles and some snacks - although there was plenty of food there! I'd taken a blanket for laying on the grass in the evening, but didn't have to carry that around as I put it on the grass to save our spot while we walked around all the attractions.

Last worn: green beaded necklace, coral tiered midi dress, studded sandals, Chloe Marcie bag (above).

Other ways to wearcoral tiered midi dress and scarf, studded sandals and pencil skirt, Chloe Marcie bag and blazer.

Perfect for pregnancy: studded sandals in third trimester.

How You Can Wear It:

Red and green is a classic Christmas combo. You can take a red dress you have and adda  green necklace to it like I have in the second outfit, or pick a dress like the teal floral one that has some red and green in the print.

Whatever you wear, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

What I Wore For Christmas: Maxi Dresses and Leo Envelope Clutch | Weekday Wear Link Up

Happy New Year! For today's Weekday Wear Link Up I'm sharing my Christmas outfits, even though Christmas was on the weekend. It just feels a little funny sharing Christmas outfits in January so I try share them as early in the month as possible. We spent Christmas day with my family on the coast, then back up to Brisbane to celebrate Christmas on Boxing day with the in-laws.

What I wore:

Christmas day outfit summer brisbane pink and purple printed maxi dress with gold sandals rebecca minkoff envelope clutch bag | awayfromblue

pink and purple printed maxi dress with silver bracelet stack and Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold | awayfromtheblue

awayfromtheblue Instagram | Christmas day outfit pink purple printed halter maxi dress with rebecca minkoff leo envelope clutch

Earrings: Colette silver filigree leaf diamante statement earrings
Dress: Jeanswest Gigi printed maxi dress in shorter length (c/o)
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold

Why I wore it:

This was what I wore on Christmas day. I got this dress back in 2015 but surprisingly I haven't worn it for Christmas day before! I knew that this year I wanted to wear an older dress from my wardrobe, just like I did last Christmas, and since this hadn't been worn at Christmas before it was the perfect choice! It was one of the two options I had last year but I went with a different dress then, so it was good to get this out for Christmas this year. I didn't manage to take my traditional pic of my outfit in front of the tree before the kids got up as they were up so early, please excuse some scattered unwrapped gifts on the floor!

As usual, my family all dresses up for a day filled with family, food and presents. Since the colourful pink and purple print on this dress is pretty bold on its own I kept the accessories simple, with silver statement earrings, my usual dressy bracelet additions, and my silver cuff. I did wonder if the champagne gold envelope clutch was the best choice with the rest of my accessories being silver, but it was the perfect completer piece with my outfit when I tried it with the dress. And to be honest I just needed somewhere to stash my keys, phone and wallet, as we had a couple of bags of presents to take to my family and I put my camera in there.

As usual I ate so much good food, got spoiled with gifts, and had a wonderful Christmas day with family!

Last worn: Gigi printed maxi dress, silver leaf earrings, rose gold sandals, Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch.

Other ways to wearGigi printed maxi dress in winter, rose gold sandals and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch and mint maxi.

Perfect for pregnancyGigi printed maxi dress in second trimester.

What's In My Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Leo Envelope Clutch

Dress: thrifted black Jeanswest halterneck maxi dress
ShoesNovo Tawny rose gold sandals
Bracelets: the usual plus vintage silver charm bracelet and Disney Couture Winnie the Pooh bangle
BagRebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch in champagne gold

Why I wore it:

Christmas at the in-laws is much more relaxed, but a maxi dress is still a good outfit choice! This one is another wardrobe oldie, also from 2015, and an opshop find. I got it in a bag of clothing in the "fill a bag for $2" sale so I'm definitely getting my money's worth from it! This is its 16th wear. I did try dress it up a little with the gold beaded necklace, but I kept the earrings simple with little heart studs.

Again I went with my little Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch - with the gold necklace and sandals I thought it complimented this outfit really well also. I had a little space in the bag of presents to fit my camera so I only needed the clutch for the essentials.

The black maxi dress probably wasn't the best choice though, got covered in dog hair almost instantly 😅 Cooper is a Shih Tzu and doesn't shed so I'm always surprised by how much dog hair other dogs shed when we are with the family. 😅

Last worn: black halter maxi dress, heart earrings, gold necklace, rose gold sandals (above), Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch (above).

Other ways to wearblack halter maxi dress and kimono, rose gold sandals and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff Leo envelope clutch and pink dress.

How You Can Wear It:

A maxi dress is an easy outfit option for a hot Christmas! You can dress it up with lots of statement accessories, metallics are always a good choice. Metallic pieces are always good at any time of year, not just Christmas.

Casual Christmas Maxi Skirt Outfits

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Sharing two casual Christmas maxi skirt outfits I wore recently. The first one for our annual Christmas Eve family day, the second for a couple of Christmas parties. It has been a fun but busy December with all the get togethers.

What I wore:

casual Christmas eve outfit navy stripe maxi skirt festive reindeer tee red saddle bag | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red with festive ribbon bracelet navy stripe maxi skirt | awayfromtheblue

awayfromblue Instagram | festive christmas reindeer tee and navy stripe maxi skirt red saddle bag Christmas eve outfit

Earrings: Colette Ciao Bella glitter ball drop earrings
NecklaceSilhoupette gold plated Shih Tzu necklace
Tee: Merry Christmas reindeer antler tee
Skirt: Target navy side split maxi skirt
Shoesslim navy and pink Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual plus Christmas ribbon bracelet
BagRebecca Minkoff unlined saddle bag in cherry red

Why I wore it:

This is what I wore on Christmas eve. The past few years I've worn the same tee on Christmas eve that my sister bought as part of a new tradition, a festive glitter Santa tee. This year I wanted to wear this reindeer tee mum made me - she made matching ones for us all, even the kids. I'd already worn this tee to the Christmas night at Movie Word theme park, and I knew that since it went so well with my red printed maxi skirt then, it would work well with this navy striped maxi skirt too.

This was the same skirt I wore last Christmas eve too - it's a very comfortable stretchy skirt. Perfect for Christmas crafts (machine washable!), making and decorating cookies, and for eating a lot of delicious food, spending time with family, and watching a Christmas movie. Once again we watched the Polar Express, as requested by my sons!

The little red saddle bag fit my wallet, phone, keys and camera, and was a nice matchy-matchy option with the red print on the tee.

Last worn: reindeer Christmas tee, gold bauble earrings, gold necklace, navy stripe maxi skirt, Havaianas, red studded saddle bag.

Other ways to wearreindeer Christmas tee with red skirt, navy stripe maxi skirt and denim jacket, red studded saddle bag worn 30 ways.

All The Festive Fun From A Previous Christmas (2018)

EarringsChanel vintage camellia dangling charm earrings
Tank: Jeanswest 'Darcy' embellished top in winter coral
Skirt: thrifted Crossroads black ruffle hem maxi skirt
ShoesWittner 'Jasmarie' studded sandals
BagRebecca Minkoff Love cross body bag in grey

Why I wore it:

This was another fun, but very hot day, before the one above. We had a kids Christmas party in the afternoon and then a Christmas party with friends in the evening. Which we ended up having to leave early from unfortunately because the kids were just worn out from the huge day!

I figured with two parties in one day it was a good time to get this sequin tank out again. I've worn it to a Christmas party before, and to the office. It's the kind of piece you can wear year-round but it seems extra festive at Christmas time. I thought the black sequins would be so nice with this black maxi skirt. It's perfect for a hot day even though it's a dark colour because it's super light viscose. And thankfully it is easy to wash after there was lots of delicious food dropped and smeared all over it (at both parties!).

How You Can Wear It:

A maxi skirt is a great option on a hot day, especially if it's from a light material or has a slit up the side. Perfect for a backyard party, or a quiet day visiting family, they are easy to dress up or down.
