What I wore:
Scarf: thrifted no brand navy grid print scarf
Dress: Cotton On 'Tina' white striped tee dress in Lissy black / Gardenia
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki
Why I wore it:
Last time I wore this black and white striped tee dress with a blue statement necklace I really liked the combination, so I tried to replicate a similar outfit again with this blue grid print scarf. When I saw the scarf in the opshop I knew it would look so cute worn with striped pieces, and I really liked this outfit! Even if it was a little warm for the scarf in the middle of the day, it was nice in the cooler morning and evening.Felt my Chloe Ethel bag was overdue another wear, and it was just the right size. I had an appointment to go to in the morning and this fits so much - easily space for all of my essentials plus the latest library book I was reading, for entertainment in the waiting room.
This was such a comfortable outfit too, as aside from the appointment I was just working from home. I've been liking dresses on those kind of days, simple instant outfits!
Last worn: black and white striped tee dress, Converse, Chloe Ethel bag. First time I've worn the blue grid print scarf as I thrifted it back in summer.
Other ways to wear: black and white striped tee dress in winter, Converse and shorts, Chloe Ethel bag and pink dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.
Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl parrot print scarf (c/o)
Dress: Target navy and white striped shift dress with frill sleeves
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:
Another working from home and school run outfit. Wanted to add some colour to this outfit, but couldn't decide that morning which scarf would look best when the one I'd planned seemed too warm for the day - it was quite humid! This lighter parrot print scarf was one I eventually settled on, and I really liked it with the dress. It did make me a little late to drop the kids off at school though, trying on all these different scarves in the morning. 😂 Thankfully we made it in class before the bell as I was parent helper. It ended up being a much cooler afternoon too so I was wishing when I picked up the kids from school that I had picked the warmer scarf to wear!Again the Chloe Ethel bag was the perfect neutral bag for this - although I did just have to carry my essentials this time around, I thought the caramel colour was really nice with the print in the scarf.
Last worn: parrot print scarf, navy striped shift dress, blue Converse, Chloe Ethel bag (above).
Other ways to wear: parrot print scarf and teal top, navy striped shift dress and statement necklace, blue Converse and midi skirt, Chloe Ethel bag and jeans.

How You Can Wear It:
Stripes are fun to print mix with! For a subtle but still fun print mix, try adding a printed scarf to a striped dress like I have in these outfits.
A scarf really does provide just that perfect amount of extra warmth on a cooler morning. Fun print mixing Mica!

it does - they are great for colder days!
DeleteI love the bold hardware and gold color of that bag! It looks great with your outfits!
ReplyDeleteit's such a fun bag, I'm glad I have one in my collection again!
DeleteI love adding a scarf to an otherwise too cool outfit as well, but usually I opt for one of these blanket scarfs. It is way colder year round here in Germany.
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky to have warmer days for sure!
DeleteHello Mica, I hope you're having a good start of the weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just love that you always plan both outfits around the same idea. And stripes are the main character in this proposal! Definitely that scarf is the best way to have some warmth in the coldest hours of in-between season. My favorite proposal is the first one, but maybe you can switch some of the accessories with the dresses for more options :D
Happy weekend!

Thanks Pablo! I usually relay on a few outfit formulas so it's easy to find similar outfits to put a post together with! And yes, accessories can really help switch things up!
DeleteNice scarves.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely outfit sweetie!

Such cute outfits! I love scarves with dresses - it's such a nice way to help regulate temperature. I'm not sure I like the colour of that fabulous bag with all the blues in the first outfit, but I LOVE how it ties in with the cream in the second look's scarf. It has parrots?? OMG!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, my dear!
I just love this bag with everything, haha!
DeleteGenial look, te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteYour striped dresses are so cute.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI love striped dresses, you get a very pretty Parisian look. I love the formula chosen with the scarves! I take this opportunity to wish you a happy weekend!

Scarves are the perfect accessories in between seasons. I particularly love that parrot print one worn with your navy and white striped dress. This is just gorgeous! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat Chloe bag is beautiful! You don't normally see bags in colors like that (at least I don't, but I'm also generally not looking, ha!)--a neutral that isn't just black, gray, navy, etc. Love a good, comfy striped dress! I have one that's very similar to your first one, except the stripes are more of a cobalt/royal blue!
ReplyDeleteYes it's such a great neutral although the "light khaki" name doesn't make sense to me, it's more like a caramel... but I love it!
DeleteThis is absolutely the perfect way to print mix. The stripe dresses just lend themselves so well to the scarves!!

They really are a staple for colder days!
DeleteYou're learned a lesson that took me years to accept -- scarves can totally change an outfit!
ReplyDeleteThey are such a great accessory for that!
DeleteI love those striped dresses! And also, a bag that's big enough for a library book is always a winner for me, ha! :)
ReplyDeleteSo true! Even if it's rare to have kid free time to read, gotta take those moments when you can, haha!
DeleteLove how you add the pop of color with the scarfs. Have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteyou make wearing striped dresses so chic. Now I want at least one striped dress, hahah. I don't know why but I have yet to find a striped dress for me yet. The way you wore those scarves looked oh so cozy! Never would I get to cover my neck here now that it's extremely toasty plus humid. Hoping some cool breeze will come our way soon. Take care dear :)
ReplyDeleteHope it cools down for you soon! I can never have too many striped dresses, haha! I have quite a collection!
