What I wore:
Jumper: Jeanswest 'Serena' ombre knit
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)
Why I wore it:
This was a really windy day so I wanted to layer up. While this is a thin open knit, because it's so open I always wear something under it too like a tee or tank, and that helps keep me warm. My son was being honoured at school and I was working from home, so I took a late lunch to go watch the ceremony.I was surprised I hadn't worn this brown toned ombre knit with the olive skinny jeans before, they seem like such a good neutral pairing! I was worried the outfit was a bit too pale with all these neutrals, so added the blush tassel necklace and Rebecca Minkoff small Darren bag for a little extra colour. Plus the bag fits my camera for taking photos of my son during the ceremony.
Unfortunately though I think that another colour would have been better to accessorise with here. Not the worst outfit, and one that was perfectly comfortable and practical for a day of working from home and spending some time at school, but I just don't think the blush Darren bag was enough of a pop here.
Last worn: brown ombre knit, blush tassel necklace, olive skinny jeans, white Converse, blush Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag.
Other ways to wear: brown ombre knit worn 2 ways, olive skinny jeans and kimono, white Converse and striped dress, blush Rebecca Minkoff Darren bag and pink shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: brown ombre knit at 40 weeks, white Converse all star in second trimester.
Necklace: Kmart navy and gold beaded tassel necklace
Knit: Jeanswest Beth ombre stripe knit pullover jumper in navy
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff small Darren messenger bag in peony (more affordable preowned!)

Rebecca Minkoff Darren Messenger Review:
What I wore:
Knit: Jeanswest Beth ombre stripe knit pullover jumper in navy
Shorts: Jeanswest Tessa olive embroidered shorts
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black

Why I wore it:
This is a much more colourful outfit! I think this blue knit works well with the olive shorts - and while I kept the same bag, the blush Rebecca Minkoff Darren, I think it is better with this outfit because of the blue knit bringing more colour. I do like blush and olive together, I just need something extra for a bit more brightness in an outfit!A cosy knit and soft shorts is an outfit formula I love to wear but I really need to take advantage of the weather to wear it when I can, before it gets too cold and wintery here! I shared a similar outfit previously, wanting to squeeze in some more wears from these cute shorts before bare leg season is over! The only downside for me with this outfit was the necklace - I thought it would be nice with the blue knit but it kind of gets a bit lost there - it wasn't really an outfit that needed a necklace with the ombre stripes, would have been better without it I think.
Had a busy day with the school run, errands and a trip to the playground and library with the little one. As I'd aggravated my knee injury I needed a little extra support - ended up needing to wear my knee brace when we got to the playground as too much driving can be really painful without it.
Last worn: navy bead and gold tassel necklace, blue ombre stripe knit, olive soft shorts, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff blush Darren bag (above).
Other ways to wear: ombre knit and jeans, olive soft shorts and floral kimono, New Balance sneakers and culottes, Rebecca Minkoff blush Darren bag and pink dress.

How You Can Wear It:
Olive is a staple neutral - and a good way to introduce green into your wardrobe if you don't have much of it already! These neutral olive shorts and skinny jeans work well with textured patterned tops like the ombre knits, and blush pink is always a good idea to accessorise with olive too!
That ombre sweater in the first outfit is really pretty - I don't own anything like that. Such a pretty bag too - a great neutral! Hope you have a great weekend Mica!

DeleteRM makes some really great bags! I have a few myself! xo, Biana
ReplyDeleteI can't stop buying them, too many good sales, haha!
DeleteHello Mica, I hope you're having a nice week!
ReplyDeleteI love the ombre effect, it is nothing that you commonly see on sweaters or knitwear, so it is nice to see that effect in this textile. Here we are starting summer so I envy you, my favorite season is when I am able to wear my knitwear :)
Obviously the touch of pastel is perfect to balance the outfit, it looks good anyway but the accessory is like the cherry on top for both proposals!
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy winter! Gonna check the other post of the week!

These knits are from a few years ago when the ombre trend was everywhere - they are so fun to wear! :)
DeleteWonderful matching outfits. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI hope your knee is feeling better soon, repetitive injuries are such a pain - and you've got a pretty great collection of knits going (I love that top grey ombre one).

I love the ombre sweater. What happened to your knee? Did I miss something?
ReplyDelete
DeleteI have a dodgy knee after injuring it as a kid - whenever I have an accident it aggravates the knee injury again, haha. I can't be as gentle with it to help it recover each time as I'd like to as a mum, all the running around with the kids, so every now and then I overdo it and it flares up again.
I like neutral tones in first outfit and blue sweater is such a statement. I hope so that you have beautiful week. Enjoy in weekend.

I love the ombre sweater paired with the olive jeans. It looks like a great autumn outfit! And the bag is too cute. I love the color!
ReplyDeleteAlthough both jumpers are lovely, my favourite is the blue one. It's such a gorgeous colour and contrasts wonderfully with the olive shorts. The blush pink bag works best with that outfit too. Sorry to hear you've aggravated your knee again. Injuries like that do take a long time to heal! Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead, Mica xxx

Deletethank you - it's slow going but it is a lot better than it used to be!
I love your use of ombre jumpers in these outfits, Mica! I like the pale blush pink as the bit of colour in the first outfit, but I agree that a deeper, more saturated pink might have contrasted better. In the second outfit, I think a pair of bold earrings might have been more effective than the necklace, which kind of feels like an afterthought here. They're still great outfits, though!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you tweaked your knee! Take care of that! Congrats on your son's school honour! :) That's awesome! Have a wonderful weekend, sweetheart!
I agree, brighter colour or bold earrings would have worked better! :) thank you so much for your congrats to my son too - we are very proud of him!
DeleteThis drink is really delicious, so fruity and sweet =) You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, I like this outfit a lot =) Especially your bag is cute.
Thanks, hope you had a wonderful day too =)
Love both outfits so much but I have to say...that first look is perfection from head to toe. I LOVE that sweater with those moss green pants. What a gorgeous combination!

ReplyDeleteOhh really lovely bag 😍😍
ReplyDeleteYou rock all of the outfits you share. I hope your knee pain has settled down - not fun at all.
ReplyDeleteThanks - it's healing slowly, it's just hard to be as gentle with it as I need to be being a mum, kids come first! :)
DeleteGeniales sacos. Te mando un beso y buen fin de semana

I like the ombre sweaters
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend :)
I am sorry to hear about your knee - what happened?
ReplyDeleteI attempted a hike I knew I'd need my knee brace for without my knee brace (left it at home by accident) and so I was in pain for a few days afterwards and driving was impossible without that extra support. It's better now :)
DeleteI love ombre everything! The soft colors are so pretty in your sweater. Enjoy your cooler weather, it's been in the 90's in California!
