Floral Print Dresses with Rebecca Minkoff Love Bags | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, sharing some fun floral print dresses I tried a little something different with, with mixed results.

What I wore:

Kmart teal floral midi dress for night out with tan ankle boots peach rebecca minkoff small love bag | awayfromblue blog

Rebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral with teal floral dress | awayfromtheblue

NecklaceTiffany diamonds by the yard necklace layered with engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
ShoesAtmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
BagRebecca Minkoff chevron quilted small Love crossbody bag in pale coral

Why I wore it:

I wasn't sure how this little peachy Rebecca Minkoff small love bag would work with the Kmart teal floral midi dress, but thought it might be a fun combination. Turns out I love orange and green together, I think the little peach bag was the perfect pop against the teal and white floral print! So glad I gave this a go.

Only needed a tiny little bag as I wore this for a night out. It was really fun! A local mum setup a Facebook group where we can attend events with other local mums, and with no Covid cases around in Brisbane at the time I decided to go along to an event. It was a really good night. Good company, good food, and I even won a lucky door prize with a tee from a local company. Looking forward to attending another event next month too!

These tan ankle boots go with so much and I really like wearing them with this dress. Because they have the tiniest heel they weren't worn much over winter as I try to stick with supportive shoes for my knee injury, but on a night with a lot of sitting around they were perfect.

What I wore:

navy waterfall cardigan, tropical floral print green tee dress with chunky sneakers cobalt jumbo love bag | awayfromblue

Rebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt with navy cardigan | awayfromtheblue

Jacket: Jeanswest waterfall drape cardigan in navy night sky marle
Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
DressAtmos & Here Willow printed tee dress
Shoes: Kmart white chunky platform sneakers
BagRebecca Minkoff quilted jumbo Love bag in cobalt

Why I wore it:

It's not the first time I've worn these white chunky sneakers with this cute green floral tee dress, I really like the combination! And I've worn cardigans with it in the past too, but it's the first time I've tried this long navy waterfall cardigan with the dress. Not entirely sure it worked, but it did keep me warmer than the denim jacket I'd planned to wear would have! It was a cold start to a busy morning so I changed to this cardigan before we left and while it wasn't needed when the day heated up I appreciated it in the morning. We had the school run, and appointment for the little one in the city, and sports class for him again before school pickup time.

I thought this cobalt Rebecca Minkoff jumbo Love bag would be nice with the green on the dress, and I liked it with the navy cardigan too. Nice and colourful for spring! I think either a different cardigan or less chunky sneakers would have made this outfit a little better though, although I did like the colours together!

How You Can Wear It:

A brightly coloured bag can be a fun pop of colour with a green floral print dress. Green and blue always work well together in any shades, and peach or orange is an unexpected but cute combination that really works.

  1. Sounds like a fun night out with the Facebook group made even better with winning a prize. The peach bag is a nice pop against the teal. I can tell spring has sprung - things are heating up over there and hopefully cooling down here!

  6. I love the first dress! I've always received compliments when I've worn green in the past but it's never been my favourite colour so I find it quite challenging to incorporate but I love the colour teal, the pattern is really pretty too. The outfit looks great with the pop of colour from the bag x

  15. They're both such beautiful dresses and love how you styled them. Especially loving the first one styled with the pretty peach colored bag and booties!

The meetup with other moms sounds like so much fun! Can't believe there aren't any Covid cases in your town! Too many here! But at least kids are back in school now and my daughter's dance studio was able to finally hold their Alice in Wonderland ballet performance this past weekend! It should have been done in June of 2020! Now onto the Nutcracker rehearsals!

  25. That first outfit is STUNNING, Mica! You look incredible in that dress! I adore the orange/peach bag with it - it's the perfect accessory. Good call on the brown booties, too - they work well with the bag.

I think the waterfall cardigan is a little heavy, visually, for the second look - it overwhelms you and the dress. Otherwise, it's a lovely outfit. What about a pair of skinny white jeans under that dress? That would be cute.

Thanks so much for the link-party! I hope you have an awesome week, my dear friend!

    1. Yes the denim jacket would have looked better, but I just wanted the extra warmth that morning, haha! I haven't got white skinny jeans yet - too clumsy for that much white, ha! But I have worn it as a top with jeans and shorts before and it does look great like that :)

  30. The floral print dresses look well on you. They won't look well on me as I'm rather short. I usually prefer plain colors, no flowers, no stripes. Plain colors make me look taller and slimmer, or at least that's what I think.

  41. Hey Mica, hope you're having a lovely week!

I loved these ideas to say hi to new season: more prints, bold colors and light jackets! First of all I am happy to know that you have no covid cases in your area, here we can have "normal life" we just have to get the mask and some other restrictions! So the first outfit is perfect for a night out: playful, bold and very dynamic :)

The pattern in both options is perfect! Also the bag, but I think the orange was my favorite since it is very eye-catching!

    1. Yes mask rules are in place here too even when there are no cases, as another state has hundreds of daily cases and they worry about it spreading to us :( So life is normal, just with masks indoors.
