What I wore:
Necklace: engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC
Why I wore it:
Back in the office again, on a slightly warmer winter day meaning I could go bare-legged. I've thought a few times about pairing this boucle jacket with this pretty teal floral midi dress. Stripes and florals look so good together and the silver and grey in the white jacket matches so well with the floral print on the dress. So glad I finally gave the combination a go, I loved this outfit! Stuck with comfortable sneakers, as being back in the office is still quite a casual affair and I didn't want to be overdressed. With the silver metallic thread in the jacquard jacket the metallic silver mini MAC seemed like a good choice - and on a kid free office day I didn't need to carry a lot. It was nice getting into the office again and catching up with colleagues in person, seeing colleagues I saw a few weeks before, last time I was in the office and also some I hadn't seen since before lockdown last year. We all come in on different days with the hybrid ways of working meaning we primarily work from home, so it's always nice to see who will be in the office!
Last worn: jacquard jacket, silver necklace, teal floral midi dress, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: jacquard jacket and jeans, teal floral midi dress and ankle boots, Adidas Superstar sneakers and shorts, Rebecca Minkoff metallic mini MAC and maxi skirt.

Wardrobe Tour and Handbag Storage
What I wore:
Necklace: Colette tortoise shell acrylic disc tassel necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki
Why I wore it:
Rather dressed up for our third day in lockdown! I'd not expected the lockdown announcement on the weekend so our Monday was packed with quite a few things to do. With our busy list of activities and the warmer weather, I'd already had this outfit planned to wear. I figured I may as well wear it and enjoy the warmer winter weather before it went back to normal temps, even if everything we had planned was cancelled with lockdownDidn't have much to do in the end - a little stroll through our neighbourhood for exercise and to get the kids out the house. The white denim jacket was a good cover up with this pink tiered midi dress. It looks good with the same dress in orange too! I did think of taking it off near the end of our walk though, it was a really hot day. Not helped by restrictions meaning I had to wear a mask at all times outside, even when it was just the kids and I on the trail. It was nice to wear this bright and cheerful dress to boost my mood, before remote learning and the work from home juggle started on Tuesday.
The Chloe Ethel bag was the easiest choice with this as it fit all three of our water bottles and some snacks in it for our short walk. It helped this feel even more like a proper outfit too, for me. Our lockdown has since been lifted as expected, it was a long one in Brisbane terms at 8 days, but I'm thankfully back to normal outfits and out of the lockdown loungewear I haven't been sharing on the blog!
Last worn: white denim jacket, Kmart pink tiered midi dress, tortoiseshell tassel necklace, New Balance sneakers, Chloe small Ethel bag.
Other ways to wear: white denim jacket in double denim, Kmart pink tiered midi dress and clutch, Chloe small Ethel bag and printed jeans.

How You Can Wear It:
A midi dress is so easy to dress up or down - perfect for a day in the office, or a casual stroll around the neighbourhood with the kids on a warmer day.Weekday Wear Linkup #133

I have yet to wear a dress this season! I limit where I go and what I do for now because of the virus, hope your lockdown goes fast! Cute outfits!
ReplyDeleteYes while it was a long lockdown for Brisbane at 8 days, it's lifted now and we are back to 0 cases so it's safe to go out and about thankfully :)
DeleteGorgeous outfits. I really love the first dress.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these outfits are beautiful! I love the cardigan in your first outfit, it's beautiful and looks so cozy.

Hope things get more under control for you soon!

ReplyDeleteBut the second outfit is really nice too, I don't blame you for staying dressed up even though you're back in lockdown. Hope your week goes well!

The jacket over a dress styling is a great option for returning to the office in cooler weather. I love the clever print mixing in your first outfit, and the bright pink tiered midi changed up for a work outfit. Hope your current lockdown ends soon, and normality returns. Thanks for the link up and have a good week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I'm glad I gave the print mix a go! And yep our lockdown was lifted as expected, back to 0 Covid cases now. :)

I really like these dresses - they are so bright and pretty! I'm glad you got to go into the office and see people, but that sucks that you had to go through an 8-day lock-down. I am thrilled to hear that you got your first shot, Mica (as you mentioned in a comment on my blog) - congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the link-party!
Yes I'm overjoyed! I know once we have enough people vaccinated lockdowns will be a thing of the past like they are in some other countries so we all look forward to that. Just need more vaccines so everyone has a chance to be safe!
DeleteMica, I'm obsessed with that first dress - it's so pretty and the colour looks fab on you! Hope you're having a good week so far :)

Cute dresses.
ReplyDeleteI do love that teal dress. I don't believe that we have Kmart stores here anymore. At least the ones in my area went out of business years ago. I'm glad to hear they are still up and running, even if they aren't available in the USA.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame they closed! They are going strong here as it's a different company despite the same name - they have taken over the closing Target stores :)
DeleteI love the subtle mix of prints in your first outfit! Hope you are staying safe in lockdown!

Hey Mica, hope you're having a lovely week so far!
ReplyDeleteOooh both options are really lovely and different at the same time: one with a powerful print and then one in a color block mood that is really easy to mix with neutral pieces like the white jacket.
I'd say it is nice to have both options and depending on your mood you can go for a print or for a bold-powerful color!
I also love the details of the superstar sneakers in the first look, such good way to add a casual touch to the dress!
Keep safe and sound!

ReplyDeleteYes I'm so lucky to get vaccinated - I was on the waitlist for months, but we recently got some expiring vaccines from Poland that have meant we had more opportunity to get vaccinated! Lockdown ended after 8 days too, back to 0 cases here.

Yes, I did spend the majority of the lockdown in loungewear or pyjamas, but it was nice to still wear the outfit I had planned even if we couldn't do any of the activities we had planned for!
DeleteHi Mica,
ReplyDeletethese are such great color dresses on you. You know I lean toward florals so I love the first one with the mac bag. It is a better feeling getting dressed during lockdown, certainly on some days, it makes you feel better!
