What I wore:
Necklace: Kelly's Kloset rainbow layered necklace
Knit: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumperSkirt: Noisy May long denim maxi skirt
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki
Why I wore it:
This was a very busy day! As well as it being the first day back at school after the June/July winter holidays, I had a couple of errands to run and my youngest had his first sports class. I decided to enrol him for something fun and indoors to do this term while his big brother is at school. The trial class went well, he loved it, and looks forward to it each week now. After school pickup and dinner, it was of course more sports in the evening for both boys. Busy but fun!
It's not the first time I've worn this cobalt knit and chambray maxi skirt together - although last time I added a lot of red to break up the monochromatic blue. This time I kept it simple, with a statement necklace bringing a bit of contrasting colour and of course my pretty Chloe small Ethel bag. As I mentioned on Instagram, this bag really does hold a lot. It's got all my usual things, plus a snack for my son, both our water bottles, his hoodie, and his sports shirt. Such a good bag for mum life!
Last worn: rainbow necklace, cobalt marl knit, chambray maxi skirt, Adidas Superstar. First time I've worn the Chloe Ethel bag on the blog as it's a recent purchase.
Other ways to wear: cobalt marl knit with stripes, chambray maxi skirt worn 30 ways, Adidas Superstar and dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: cobalt marl knit and hidden baby bump.
Skirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

What I wore:
Scarf: Target Simone woven scarf in navy foil stars
Knit: Jeanswest Beth ombre stripe knit pullover jumper in navySkirt: thrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki
Why I wore it:
I wore this outfit a couple days before the one above - back in the school holidays, on a wet and rainy day! It meant I added a scarf as an extra layer to keep cosy. With the ombre stripes in the knit the navy scarf seemed like a good complimentary colour and I like the foil scarf against the stripes. The ochre maxi skirt isn't the best choice in the rain as it gets heavy when wet - but it's such a pretty colour with navy the other shades of blue in the jumper. And it stayed dry thankfully as we went to a school holiday workshop, bought some presents for upcoming birthday parties, visited the library, and even got some time in the playground with the kids. The rain set in as we were driving home in the afternoon - perfect timing!
Again I wore my Chloe Ethel bag - the neutral cream goes with all the colour in this outfit so well.
Last worn: star print scarf, ombre stripe knit, ochre maxi skirt, white Converse All Star, Chloe Ethel (above).
Other ways to wear: star print scarf with red jeans, ombre stripe knit with green, ochre maxi skirt and leopard print, white Converse All Star and midi dress.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse All Star in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Maxi skirts can be layered for mild winter days with a cosy knit, and maybe even a scarf. A bright knit is a great way to add more colour to a winter outfit too, and a neutral bag is the perfect accessory.

Great looks, Mica!
ReplyDeleteI loved that bohemian style bag.
I hope your week is great!
Hugs from Spain
I love that you wear so much color in winter - it's so happy even if there are still lockdowns and masks over there - ugh! It's interesting to see how differently everyone is handling Covid.
ReplyDeleteGreat too that your youngest has an indoor sport - I bet he feels so grown up and just like his big brother!
Have a great day, Mica!
xo,
Kellyann
Yes hopefully we can all get some vaccines so we don't have as many lockdowns, haha! :)
DeleteGreat Looks!! have a nice day
ReplyDeleteNice outfits. Very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteKisses
Gosh, I always think of maxi skirts as a summer item. But you wear them so well, that I'm all inspired to wear them in winter as well. I love blue and brown together!
ReplyDeletethey work so well with our milder winter here - and are easy to layer under with tights or leggings if it's cold!
DeleteOooh I really like the pairing of your jumpers with maxi skirts. The first outfit is such a great monochromatic look. And the second one is a lovely color combination for winter. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, my friend!

Maxi skirts are so elegantly practical, and I love the rich hues!
ReplyDeleteVery nice outfit;) have a nice day:)
ReplyDeleteThe chambray maxi and blue sweater is such a pretty combo! So glad your son enjoyed his sports class!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
You do wear a maxi so well! Love how you've styled them both. I'm not ready for sweater weather!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying it as winter is always over so quickly here, haha!
DeleteI love your blue outfit so much. This combination of blue look so elegant and suit you perfectly. Wish you beautiful need week.

You look good in the maxi skirts. I seldom wear maxi shirts because of our warm weather.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing them year-round!
DeleteBoth of those jumpers are really versatile! I love navy but I often forget to wear it.
ReplyDeletewww.chezmireillefashiontravelmom.com
I like your outfits! I like a little more the combination with the ocher skirt. Oh yes! When it rains, such a skirt becomes very heavy.
ReplyDeleteHere, when it's winter, I freeze with such an outfit. 😊
I wish you a wonderful week!
Love maxis anytime - especially these beautiful colors <3
ReplyDeleteGreen Fashionista
They recently got rid of the mask mandate here but it all seems really premature to me so I'm still masking and likely will do so for a while yet, although I think we might be headed for a fall surge here so I wouldn't be surprised if we're all back in masks pretty soon, sigh. I love how your integrating maxi skirts into fall/winter looks - they work perfectly!
ReplyDeleteCourtney ~ Sartorial Sidelines
It's nice you have no cases so you can drop the masks - hope nothing flares up when it gets colder! I'm happy to wear masks when there are cases but when it's back to 0 there's no need for them here thankfully :)
DeleteHow fantastic your outfits are...every time I visit, I leave here inspired! WOW!!
ReplyDeleteI had never thought of wearing a combination of blue and ochre before, but it works really well, doesn't it?!
I love the bag too, casual but so stylish!😊😊
Have a super week!
Hugs xxx
So glad I could inspire you!
DeleteMica, what a great chose to wear bright colors for the winter time! Love both outfits.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week,
Tatiana
I really like the blouse of first outfit
ReplyDelete¡¡Hola Mica!!
Besitos.
Enjoy your blog break! :)
DeleteYou are so skillfull on pair maxi skirts on winter outfits, Mica! That's a very good idea to add some color and carefree vibe to an heavy outfit!
ReplyDeleteYour bag is very pretty as well!

Love the khaki/orange/rust colors with the blue--a great combination!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange skirt. Wearing masks is a good idea, especially in winter. It's a great way to keep from getting just a common cold, and it's especially great at making sure no one catches a cold from you if you have one. (I'm planning on keeping masking up even after the pandemic, at least when I might get sick.)
ReplyDeleteyes they have kept the mask rules here for longer than usual - I think they might be in place for the rest of winter!
DeleteI'm loving both your outfits here, Mica, but the caramel coloured maxi skirt and blue ombre jumper are such a great colour combination. The starry scarf is the perfect addition, as is that wonderful Chloe bag! We've still got to wear masks in busy public places as well as inside shops Etc. It doesn't seem set to be relaxed any time soon here! xxx
ReplyDeleteOur mask rules are relaxed about a week or two after lockdown when cases go back to zero :)
DeleteWow zero cases!! How I wish we have zero cases here!
ReplyDeleteI like both outfits and I understand the formula, having kids it's not easy! I like first most!
Have a great week!
xoxo

I hope you get to zero soon!
DeleteLove both outfits, Mica:) Stylish but still great for you busy days! That's great to hear that you guys are down to zero again. I don't think that'll ever happen to us...LOL. And I love that colour combo on your outfit. The garment I'm sewing right now is actually Ochre and Peacock together!
ReplyDeleteI love that colour combo, you always make the pettiest pieces!
DeleteI love the bag and the maxi skirts. Thank you for sharing your daily looks. It gives me inspiration to change things up!
ReplyDeleteYou are always so inspirational with wearing maxis in the winter!! I still need to incorporate that this winter

Blue is such a pretty color on you and you always wear maxi skirts so well! I'll bet it's fun for your son starting to play organized sports. Covid and lockdowns are hard on all of us, but especially the children. Hope you have a good week and thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYes it's hard for them not understanding but lucky hotel quarantine works well to keep us safe from the virus so our lockdowns are never too long!
DeleteYou like maxi skirts, too! I loved the chambray one but I really loved the ochre one especially as you thrifted it. The bag sounds perfect for a busy mum like you; it holds everything except the kitchen sink...
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week
xxx
It does hold so much! Such a great bag!
DeleteLove both of these colourful outfits, Mica! Your blue jumper is such a lovely colour, and I think you know how much I love your mustard skirt! Glad to hear cases are still low, and that it's not too, too rainy!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the link-party!
I love that you keep your outfits bright and colourful even in the cooler months. It's such a nice change. Sorry your mask mandates have had to be reintroduced. I hope there aren't too many cases in your area x

Yes it's scary when it gets up to numbers like 9 cases but we are safe for the most part as we don't visit a lot of crowded places :)
DeleteYou such do know how to rock a maxi skirt. Glad your youngest son liked his active.

Ugh, so sorry that you have to wear masks again. So do we, after a blissful monthlong break :( Love your blue outfit though. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteCheryl Shops | www.cherylshops.net
Oh sorry you had such a short break! We only need to wear masks now and then, once it's back to 0 cases the mask rules will be lifted :)
DeleteBoth are great looks, Mica. Be well.

I really like that blue on blue look. Our mask mandate is now over - but I still carry a couple with me just in case.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to have one just in case!
DeleteThat is definitely my kind of bag - stylish but large enough to hold all my essentials as well as my daughter's bits and bobs. Love the way you've styled both outfits, you can't beat a maxi skirt :)
ReplyDeleteLooking so preety
ReplyDeleteyour outfits look so cozy and cute I halfway wish it was winter here. Just kidding, summer is the best. I love the second skirt so much, the color seems perfect to me. The bag is great as well: roomy and still pretty, I'd say it's perfect for day to day life
ReplyDeleteIt is the perfect bag for fitting everything in!
DeleteI dont think Ive seen that style of chole bag before - looks great with our outfit!
ReplyDeleteIt's an oldie! From 2010!
DeleteHello Mica, hope you're doing good!
ReplyDeleteOooh yes I have heard some bad news about Australia, but at least it is good to know that you guys are acting fast in order to stop the virus. I know masks could be uncomfortable but at least you are in the cold season and they could be part of your outfit proposal as you showed us in this post.
Like to see this long skirts, they are perfect for the cold season right? Maxi skirts look really good on you, and I'd say the blue is my favorite since it is the color that appears the most on your blog and can we talk about that bag? Seems perfect, roomy but practical and nice at the same time :)
Keep taking care and best regards from Spain!

haha yes, blue is my favourite colour! And maxi skirts are such a staple, they are so comfortable!
DeleteWe are so lucky to be in a place where we have 0 cases most of the time, so the odd lockdown or mask rules make sense until the government gets us some more vaccines!
I love your outfit! you look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the maxi skirts, Mica! The ochre and blue is especially striking.

You have such versatile but special items in your wardrobe. Sounds like life has been super busy for you and your family lately! I hope you are having an amazing week so far <3

First of all I love the blue color of your first outfit top. It is such a vibrant blue. We are still in kind of a self imposed lockdown. Going out only when needed. Schools are still closed. Best wishes to your boys. :-)
ReplyDeleteVia | https://glossnglitters.com
So sorry to hear the schools are closed :( it's always serious when that happens! My kids love it when the 3 day lockdowns overlap with school days, they get an extra day off school, haha!
DeleteIt's good to hear that your cases are back to 0.
ReplyDeleteI love the brown skirt! Such a pretty color.
