What I wore:
Scarf: Target Simone woven scarf in navy foil stars
Necklace: long silver giraffe necklace layered with engraved interlinked silver circle family name necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey midi dress in amber
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight
Why I wore it:
This was such a fun day! We took advantage of a pupil free day where we all also had the day off to take the kids out to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo. It's been a few years since we were last there even though it's just over an hour away from us.With it being a warmer day I dressed in layers to keep warm in the cooler morning, but so I could take them off and on through the day. The light navy star print scarf was just perfect, although it did cover up the carefully picked out necklaces I was wearing, including my silver giraffe necklace.
I wore that necklace on a previous trip to the zoo while pregnant with my now 7 year old, where we were lucky enough to feed a giraffe then. We did that again this time, and the kids got to have a go too. It was so much fun, big thank you to my mum and sister for getting us the tickets!
The little Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag was a nice colour with the denim jacket and navy scarf, and perfect for my essentials and camera. I wore my Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack too as it fit all the water bottles and snacks for us all, but the little crossbody bag kept my camera handy. I took hundreds of photos as usual! It's not every day you get to feed a giraffe though.
Last worn: denim jacket, navy star print scarf, engraved necklace, giraffe necklace, Kmart amber tiered midi dress, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford bag.
Other ways to wear: denim jacket worn 30 ways, navy star print scarf and black tee, Kmart amber tiered midi dress worn two ways, Rebecca Minkoff navy micro Bedford bag and green jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: denim jacket in second trimester.
Jacket: Cotton On girlfriend denim jacket in whitehaven
Scarf: Fashion Scarf Girl zesty stripe tassel scarf in pink
Dress: Asos grey skater dress
Shoes: thrifted Adidas Superstar sneakers
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Micro Bedford zip satchel in twilight

Why I wore it:
After the previous day at the zoo, this day needed to be much more relaxed! Stuck with a similar outfit formula again, although with this shorter grey skater dress, a white denim jacket instead, and this fun striped scarf. I really like pink and grey together. It turned into a really warm day though, the denim jacket didn't stay on long!
We popped out to the opshop to check out one of their sales, where I picked up a really cute skirt for just $1! Then it was grabbing some last minute groceries, a trip to the library and a play in the playground before heading home for lunch. Ended up having to put the bandage on my knee to support it after all the walking around at the zoo the day before, but I could rest it in the afternoon when we stayed home.
Last worn: white denim jacket, striped scarf, grey skater dress, Adidas Superstar sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford (above).
Other ways to wear: white denim jacket with jeans, striped scarf and pencil skirt, grey skater dress worn 2 ways, Adidas Superstar sneakers and midi dress, Rebecca Minkoff micro Bedford and shorts.
Perfect for pregnancy: grey skater dress in second trimester.

How You Can Wear It:
Dresses and denim jackets are spring staples! A fun printed scarf is a great extra layer to wear in this season as it can easily be removed and put in your bag when it warms up later in the day.

I haven't been to the zoo in years. It sounds like such a fun day! I love the first outfit! The amber color is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteJill - Doused in Pink
We really need to go more often, it's not so far from us!
DeleteOh how I love tiered dresses! And the color is so gorgeous. The blue fits perfectly with it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfits, both of them. It's great you visited the zoo with your boys and that you were able to feed the giraffes again. That is a fun photo of you feeding the girafette. They are quite the gentle giants. Fantastic orange midi dress. Lovely grey dress and white denim jacket combo as well. I like your trainers.
ReplyDeleteYes she was so gentle when we fed her carrots but when we held out the branch to her it took all of us to hold it as she tore leaves off, their necks are so strong! A great experience!
DeleteA super simple, yet stylish formula. I love the first dress so much. The length, the tiers, and the color. It's something I'd wear to work right now. I love a good zoo day. How fun that you can get that close to giraffes! I hope yo have a great week ahead.

Great outfit formula! I really like the proportions in the 2nd one. We are planning to take my niece to the zoo this Friday before some more fun things over the weekend. The boys have a couple days off of school next week so we will do some at home vacation activities.

DeleteGreat combination, beautiful photos and it suits you.
ReplyDeleteDenim jackets are such a great piece of transitional outerwear both for their style and versatility. Pairing them with dresses is alway a good bet too. Looks and sounds like you had such a fun day at the zoo. Your kids must've had so much fun feeding the giraffes.
ReplyDeleteThey had an amazing time - we all really enjoyed it!

Make Life Marvelous
It was such an incredible experience, so much fun!
DeleteBoth of your outfits are really cute, but I like the first one best. Could be because that dress is one of my favorite colors - but then the whole outfit just goes together well. The zoo trip sounds like lots of fun - I love zoose.
ReplyDeleteIris
I love denim jackets with maxi dress in particular this nap dress style you are wearing. A great look for the zoo, that looked fun!! The second look is super fresh and girlie. Both look great on you. Enjoy the coming spring!

What a fun day at the zoo! It's been awhile since we've been so it's nice to see that they are still around. I hope your legs were able to get some rest on Sunday. I know walking can start hurting my knees too. I love the RM Julian backpack. I have the mini though and it fits a lot but not my camera because of the opening. I haven't seen the mini Bedford before but I love the color. Perfect for any day outing! I hope your week is going well so far and happy Tuesday!

you look so very lovely~ while you enjoy spring I am enjoying the beginnings for FALL!!
ReplyDeletewhat a handsome giraffe at the Australia Zoo, i would have loved to be able to feed it too. If I ever get to Brisbane, I will visit this zoo after hearing and reading so much about it. I think the Simone scarf wth navy stars is really quite versatile for any wear. The Micro Bedford seems compact and with enough space for our double masks and hand sanitisers now
ReplyDeleteIt is such a good zoo to visit! We always have a fun time there and I am glad we got to feed the giraffe!
DeleteI don't use many scarves, but your looks are beautiful, like always
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and have a nice day
