What I wore:
Jumper: thrifted vintage Haneli metallic gold knit jumper
Jeans: Jeanswest Vicki skinny pant in moss green
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff MAB Camera Bag in almond
Why I wore it:
This was a big day! It was an extremely foggy (and early) start to the morning as I was volunteering with a friend to help fundraise at the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle. I put a long sleeve tee under my metallic gold knit, as well as my big cosy navy scarf to keep me warm for standing outside all morning. Didn't need to worry though - once the fog cleared where we were and the sun came out I was actually far too warm! Ended up taking the scarf off quite quickly and rolling up the sleeves on my jumper. Sadly somewhere along the way one of the tassels fell off my scarf.I did like the scarf with this outfit - I like the extra colour the navy print brings to the gold and olive. It just didn't stay on long, as I kept it off even in the afternoon too when I took the kids to the library. I'd added the neutral Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag as I wasn't sure what colour bag to wear with this and was in a rush to get to the BBQ on time. I think a navy one to match the scarf could have looked nice too but given how little I wore the scarf I was glad I went with the almond bag.
Last worn: vintage metallic knit, navy mixed print scarf, olive skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag.
Other ways to wear: vintage metallic knit and black jeans, navy mixed print scarf with mustard tee, olive skinny jeans for long-haul flight, Rebecca Minkoff MAB camera bag and floral dress.

Rebecca Minkoff MAB Camera Bag and Mini MAC Comparison
What I wore:
Jumper: Jeanswest Kara foil pullover in smoke marl and silver
Jeans: Jeanswest Harper skinny pant in Russet
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC
Why I wore it:
This is a much more subtle metallic knit! I like the silver foil polka dots on this grey knit, but being a little on the thin side it's not one I frequently reach for over winter. It's so pretty though I keep it around even if it's only worn a handful of times a year! True winter weather is so brief here in Brisbane it's hard to wear jumpers more than a handful of times really. With the neutral grey I added a lot more colour with the burgundy jeans and the bright blue scarf. Unlike the first outfit where the knit was the statement in the outfit I feel this scarf was the statement to complete the outfit. It stayed on all day too, was a chilly morning for the school run and kept me warm for my little one's sports in the morning and then sports for both boys after school pickup in the evening.
Couldn't resist going a little matchy-matchy for this outfit too with my metallic silver mini MAC. Surprisingly, it's the first time I've worn this knit and bag together - such an obvious choice I can't believe I haven't tried the combo yet! Wore such a tiny bag as I put my son's sports stuff and water bottles in the baby bag to take along to class with us.
Last worn: foil polka dot knit, navy MbMJ scarf, burgundy jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC.
Other ways to wear: foil polka dot knit and shorts, navy MbMJ scarf with monochrome outfit, burgundy jeans and kimono, Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC and maxi.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester, Rebecca Minkoff metallic silver mini MAC in third trimester.
How You Can Wear It:
A metallic twist is a fun way to change up a classic winter knit - you can go bold with a completely metallic thread, or more subtle like the second outfit with the foil polka dot detail. With metallics being neutrals they pair so nicely with colourful scarves or jeans too!
WOW, you are looking good in all shades of blue. Blue does go so well with your bright scarlet/ or burgundy? coloured jeans. Casual and smart
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's my favourite colour!
DeleteBeautiful looks! I like the photos. Cool post!

Both of these outfits are fabulous Mica. I love the navy blue scarf with the first outfit, it looks so chic. The RM bag is very pretty as well.
ReplyDeleteYour second outfit is very stylish too, love those red jeans and jumper...and the bold blue scarf is the perfect accessory.
It really was the perfect completer piece for that outfit!
DeleteCold and July just don't compute in my northern hemisphere brain. Cute outfits, though.

yes I'm so sad I lost it! I didn't even see it fall off!
DeleteI think the almond bag was absolutely the right colour for the first outfit, but I think the metallic one gets lost a bit in the second.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy to send some heat your way, darlin'! Take care and have a lovely weekend, Mica.
Yes the scarf was a nice contrast, a contrasting bag would have looked good too!
DeleteLove both of your sweaters. Hope you having a great week.

It's sweltering here, but I am so ready for outfits like this coming soon. Now that I think of it, I do not have any colorful pants. I think I'd love both your green and red pairs this autumn. They are great fall colors.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend!
Colourful jeans are a staple for me! So much more fun than classic blue!
DeleteBoth the outfits look so good on you! I love this styling very much! Wonderful and Lovely Post dear! xoxo

Hello Mica,
ReplyDeleteSeems that winter in Australia is not that hard, well at least not in your area. Those jumpers are really cool because it feels like you can stay cozy but comfortable at the same time, it is weird that you guys are facing winter while we are melting.
Both options are really cool but the second one is my favorite, specially for the colorful scarf in contrast with the grey jumper.
Have a lovely weekend !

Glad you are staying warm with lots of fashionable layering! That metallic gold sweater is beautiful and the scarf looks perfect with it. Love the combination of colours in that second look. The scarf and pants are perfection <3
ReplyDeletethe creation of beauty is art.
Two perfectly put together outfits, Mica. I think the almond bag in the first one was the right choice, as it goes so well with your neutral outfit and offsets the navy of your scarf as well! Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead! xxx
ReplyDeleteHello dear! As always, you look beautiful :) You have a beautiful style that inspires a lot! Your styles are so beautifully selected, everything fits together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Poland!
