What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted cream and navy statement flat bead necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Shelley garment dye tee in faded denim blue
Skirt: thrifted Billabong 'Don't Think Of It' bikini red printed maxi skirt
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch c/o JORD
Bag: Louis Vuitton MM damier azur neverfull
Why I wore it:
This was such a fun day! Headed out to Mountview Alpaca Farm, at O'Reillys vineyard in Canungra. The plan was to walk a couple of alpacas, get some super soft alpaca snuggles, and have a delicious picnic lunch. Turns out alpacas are really quite stubborn though and it was more briefly walking alpacas and then trying to convince them to move after they decided it was better to stand and enjoy the sun 😂 Seeing the kids turn into alpaca whisperers to try get them to move across the vineyard was really cute though! I felt that we more than deserved the massive overflowing picnic table full of food for lunch afterwards! It was a cooler morning and I wasn't sure what it would be like in the valley so I did start the day in a denim jacket - but quickly took it off when it warmed up. This blue tee and the red printed maxi skirt were the perfect outfit on their own, without the too warm jacket. I thought the statement necklace dressed it up too. I'd worn the New Balance sneakers as I'd had visions of being dragged along by alpacas and needing comfortable shoes but our alpacas for the morning really were content to laze around for most of our time with them and let us get in lots of pats!
And while the Neverfull was a bit bulky on my shoulder and I worried about accidentally sideswiping an alpaca it was perfect for carrying all our water bottles and my camera. I got so many great photos!

Why I wore it:
This was just a regular weekday with the school run, a couple errands, a doctor's appointment, and sports in the evening. Had to take both kids to the doctors for us all to get our annual flu shots. I didn't expect it to be a smooth appointment but I also didn't expect one of the kids to begin screaming once their brother had his injection, and not stop screaming until quite some time after his own injection! Luckily the doctor was, as always, kind and unflappable and the receptionists did well to mask their giggles when it was all over. They confided that they have seen and heard worse reactions, to help us all feel a bit better! At least it's over for another year!Dressed comfortably and colourfully for the busy day. I liked the blue and red in the first outfit so it was fun to try it again with a red tee and blue tie dye maxi skirt instead. And as it was a much cooler day, I wore my denim jacket most of the day. This white denim jacket is new, my gift from the boys for the previous weekend's Mother's Day, along with the necklace and so many cute handmade gifts! I was very spoiled for Mother's Day.
Last worn: red tee, tie dye maxi skirt, Converse, Louis Vuitton damier azur Neverfull (above). First time I've worn the necklace and the white denim jacket as they are recent gifts.
Other ways to wear: red tee and scarf, tie dye maxi skirt in monochrome outfit, Converse and tee dress, Louis Vuitton damier azur Neverfull and jeans.

So great you visited Alpaca farm. The photo of you posing with an alpaca is adorable. You know, I think I knew about their stubborness because I saw it in some documentaries. They are supposedly very strong-willed.
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic in that first outfit. Lovely tee and maxi skirt combo....I just love the combination of red and blue. The second outfit is lovely as well. Your LV bag is very chic.
they were very stubborn, but so fun too! :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful ensamble, I love these colors together!

Too funny about the stubborn Alpacas but it sounds like fun! I can only imagine the flu shot debacle but I'm sure the doctor's office has seen it all. So happy to hear you were spoiled on Mother's Day - well deserved! Hope you have a terrific week and thanks for the link up!

Oh Alpacas are so cute, my friend wants a few! Haha, but she doesn't have enough space for them. Very lovely.

DeleteThere were people asking about the work involved to own one when we were there - apparently they require a lot of work, more than other farm animals!
Happy belated mom's day Mica! Your kids are truly spoiled by you as you are by them. I just smiled a lot when I spotted the photos of you with the alpacas. Such a cute creature! You're so lucky to walk with them around the farm and then try to direct them to move lol. It's funny to imagine. They're like cats then, in this way. They move when they wanna. Love both outfits and your story about kids getting the annual flu jabs is interesting! Love it when docs know how to be patient with children :) Hope you are well! Wishing you a lovely start to the new week :D xoxo

DeleteSo true - very cat like! Adorable but stubborn!

I can see you sideswiping an alpaca lol! Maxi skirts are so comfy for outings like that, I like that it is easy to sit in them too since they offer coverage. Love the colors!

Love your printed maxi skirt and solid tee outfits. It sounds like everyone had fun at the Alpaca farm, it spite of the animal's unwillingness to walk about! Have a good week and thanks for the link up!
ReplyDelete
DeleteYes it was so funny trying different things to encourage them to move - they were unamused watching us most of the time as we giggled!
Gotta love a good pair of maxi skirt for warmer temperature. Despite the length, they're surprisingly coolling!

Mica,
ReplyDeleteIt would seem that we are on the same tie-dyed maxi skirt wavelength. Your two looks certainly reinforce how fabulously fun and modern they look and wonderfully easy they are to wear.

Hello Mica! I hope you're doing well!
ReplyDeleteOooh my first of all I died with the alpacas *_* I would love to see one soon! They look so adorable, of course this plan deserved a nice outfit!
I love both options since they are the same version but with inverted colors, feels like they are the same concept of part of the same family which is really nice! I'd say you can rotate all the pieces that are from these OOTD's and play with them in multiple combinations in the future!
