Striped Tee Dresses and Pink Crossbody Bag

Sharing two incredibly similar outfits today, with sneakers, striped tee dresses and my little Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC crossbody bag. Sometimes when I follow an outfit formula I'll tweak it a little each time I wear it, but these outfits feature such similar dresses they are almost identical!

What I wore:

Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
DressAll About Eve striped black tee dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual plus turquoise and silver bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff Jean MAC bag in fig

Why I wore it:

Added a little extra colour to this staple black and white tee dress with the pink Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC bag, blue Converse and even a little turquoise and silver bracelet stack. Had a busy day with an appointment, the school run, and working from home. Because it was such a hot day and there was a little bit of running around between everything I went with this simple dress. It's a firm favourite of mine as although it's black it's a nice loose fitting shift dress and so it's perfect in the heat!

I thought the colourful accessories were great with the black and white too - all colours work with this dress!

Last worn: black and white striped shift dress, turquoise bracelet stack, circle necklace, blue Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC.

Other ways to wearblack and white striped shift dress and leather jacket, blue Converse and midi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Jean MAC and monochromatic blue outfit.

Why I wore it:

This was a really hot day - I feel my face shows that well now I've decided to give up the hunt for a good BB cream or tinted sunscreen.😅 All the tinted ones I've tried since my go-to was discontinued are breaking me out. So I'm giving up and just wearing plain, sheer sunscreen. Despite the heat we had a busy day ahead of us, so a simple shift dress was the ideal outfit.

We'd picked a venue and sent our son's party invites out before the big floods hit Brisbane a few weeks ago. So when my friend told me at a playdate our favourite park was closed we were shocked and had to scramble to find someplace new for the party. We went by the park to confirm it was still fenced off and unusable after the floods, and then checked out some other possible party venue parks near us, and of course to let the kids play in the playgrounds! It was tricky as being a party for prep kids we needed toilets in the park as well as a fun playground, and lots of space for all our guests in a covered area for shade. Thankfully we found another park that worked and we were able to let everyone know the change of venue a few days before the party.

How You Can Wear It:

Striped dresses are wardrobe staples! You really can't go wrong with stripes. In neutral black and white, you can add more colour with some brighter accessories as I've done here with the pink crossbody bag in both outfits, and the blue Converse in the first outfit.

  1. I hope your heat breaks soon, it is coming this way and I am dreading it! Ugh, I hate the hot, humid summers we have that last through Fall. Dresses are what I reach for to stay cool.
Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. It does feel strange for it still to be so warm this far into autumn! At least the humidity is starting to fade a bit.

  11. You look stunning in both of these striped dresses. I think striped dresses look so cool paired with trainers. It's a very youthful and fresh look. Anyhow, you always look lovely even when it's super sunny and hot. I get you on the tinted sunscreen. It can be hard finding the right sunscreen (tinted or not). I also have this problem of finding sunscreen that doesn't cause break outs.
P.S. So sorry to hear about the flood and how it caused problems to your plans. I don't think I've registered it if I heard it on the news.:(

    1. It was a few weeks ago we flooded so I wasn't expecting the park to have still needed repairs but there were so many areas here that flooded it's just lower priority. I hope it will be fixed soon.

  14. I like the dress so much! It is so good for daily use. It reminds me I need more casual styles in cloths. This pink bag is absolutely adorable, the shade is so cute and it totally connects with your personality for me.
Very sorry about your son's party venue, it's such a bummer and is one more downside of the floods. Happy you managed to work it out safely.

  17. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Light Revealer Natural Skin Illuminator Broad Spectrum SPF 25 is a great tinted moisturizer. I was using it for over a month. I just ran out of it.
