Blue Knits Over Tiered Sundresses With Converse and A Black Tote Bag

For a couple of cooler spring days recently I layered up some cosy knits over these strappy tiered sundresses and Converse outfits, with the big, practical Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag. Jumpers over dresses is another good way to get an extra wear from knits outside of winter, before it heats up too much.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted orange bead statement necklace
Jumper: thrifted Valleygirl blue knit jumper
Dress: thrifted peach and white floral print tiered sundress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

This was a fun day! I'd taken a little extra time off work in the afternoon so I could wrap up working from home early and attend an open day at my son's school. It was good to watch them perform, and we got to check out their classrooms and some of their work that was decorating the walls. It was a great afternoon! It was a warm day, but not quite warm enough yet for me to go bare shouldered, so I added this thin knit over the spaghetti strap sundress. I like knotting this knit over dresses!

Comfortable Converse for walking around the school campus, and then because I couldn't quite decide on a necklace with this but I felt the neckline of this knit needed a little something, I picked this bright orange necklace. Not quite a match with the print on the dress, but I liked the two together.

Big Rebecca Minkoff tote bag to store a few extra snacks for the kids that afternoon!

Last worn: cobalt knit, orange necklace, pastel tiered sundress, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.

Other ways to wearcobalt knit and printed jeans, pastel tiered sundress and denim jacket, white Converse and jeans, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag and midi dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

Jumper: Jeanswest Beth ombre stripe knit pullover jumper in navy
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Dress: Kmart Aztec print tiered little black dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

I realised I hadn't worn this ombre knit from my sister's wardrobe recently, so again I copied an outfit formula I liked above, with this ombre knit over the black printed tiered sundress. Just like in the first outfit I added a thrifted statement necklace. I liked this one against the navy in the knit. This knit isn't quite as thin or stretchy as the one above, so I just folded the hem under to get it to sit at a good spot with the tiers of the dress. It did annoy me through the day though as I kept fussing with it sliding around - knotting or just leaving it worn long would have worked better!

I did like the blue and black combination though, and again I went with the Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote. I didn't need to carry much, just the school run and working from home, but the black was the obvious matchy-matchy choice with the black dress and black Converse.

Last worn: ombre knit, navy necklace, black tiered sundress, black Converse, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag (above).

Other ways to wearombre knit and shorts, black tiered sundress and denim jacketConverse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag with pink.

Printed Dresses and Blazers And LV Neverfull | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up I'm sharing two printed dresses and blazer outfits that I wore to the office recently.

What I wore:

Earrings: Piper gold heart earrings
Jacket
Jeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: personalised gold children's names charm necklace
DressJaase Celine autumn leaves mini dress
ShoesAtmos&Here tan Lola leather ankle boots
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

I wouldn't have normally have reached for this dress for a day in the office - it is a little casual, but I felt the ankle boots and the grey blazer dressed it up enough for a quiet day. And I wanted something that would be suitable for a day at work and an evening out, as after work I headed out to a graduation evening for a family member. Needed the big Louis Vuitton Neverfull to pack with everything for the day and the evening. It was so much fun, although a very late night for the kids, it was so good to celebrate the graduation.

I think this blazer was the perfect topper over this dress to make it more office-ready. The longer length was really good with the ruffle hem of the dress.

Last worn: heart studs, grey jersey blazer, charm necklace, Jaase dress, ankle boots, Louis Vuitton Neverfull.

Other ways to weargrey jersey blazer and jeans, Jaase dress and denim jacket, ankle boots and midi dressLouis Vuitton MM Neverfull worn 30 ways.

Perfect for pregnancyLouis Vuitton Neverfull at 38 weeks.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Valleygirl navy jersey blazer
NecklaceTiffany & Co pink double heart tag pendant necklace
Dress: Kmart teal floral print midi dress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star coast blue
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

This dress, unlike the one above, has been worn to the office many times. It's such a good office dress as it's super comfortable and the teal colour goes with all my blazers. I liked this navy blazer with the teal background of the dress, and how the white gingham on the cuffs matched the white in the floral print. Needed comfortable shoes after aggravating my knee injury the prior weekend, so went with these blue Converse. I think the different shades of blue with the blazer, dress, Chucks and damier Azur print of the Neverfull all worked well together.

Last worn: navy blazer, Tiffany heart necklace, Kmart teal floral midi dress, blue Converse, Louis Vuitton Neverfull (above).

Other ways to wearnavy blazer and pencil skirt, Kmart teal floral midi dress, blue Converse and shortsLouis Vuitton MM Neverfull worn 30 ways.

Red Denim With Blue Tees and Black Bags

Wearing more red denim again, with blue tops because I really like blue and red together! In both of these outfits I'm wearing two different toppers with the same print, just in different colourways.

What I wore:

Jacket: thrifted Cotton On maroon wanderlust floral border cover up
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
TankCle The Label Amelia tank in indigo
Shorts: thrifted red denim shorts
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus Mimco gunmetal twisted bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

It's not the first time I've worn this purple printed cover up with red - it's a really reddish print with the burgundy and purple and peach and white together so I really like it with red! Seemed like such an obvious pairing with the red denim shorts. Both of the pieces, just like the Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and the pastel necklace, are thrifted finds.

This tank was a recent purchase this year - it's a great basic and a simple tank and denim shorts outfit was all I needed for a day with the school run, working from home, and then a quick errand after picking the kids up in the afternoon.

Last worn: floral border print cover up, blue tank, necklace, red denim shorts, bracelet stack, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff cupid bag.

Other ways to wearfloral border print cover up and denim skirt, blue tank and jeans, red denim shorts with black, Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff cupid bag and dress.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On Alana Wanderlust kimono in floral mood indigo
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Shelley garment dye tee in faded denim blue
Jeans: Jeanswest Harper skinny pant in Russet
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

More blue! Mum got me this cotton on floral cover up one Christmas, before I stumbled across the burgundy one above in the opshop. I am sure to get lots of wear from both as they both feel so different! I paired this one with a lot more blue, with the lighter blue tee and the navy necklace that I thought echoed the different shades in the print nicely.

It was a cooler morning so I went with jeans, these burgundy ones I like wearing with different shades of blue as it always works well. Had my big Rebecca Minkoff black tote bag as we had a doctor's appointment before school, and I need things to entertain the kids!

Last worn: blue floral border cover up, navy flat necklace, blue tee, burgundy jeans, Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.

Other ways to wearblue floral border cover up and yellow, blue tee and maxi skirt, burgundy jeans and stripes, Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag with pink.

Red and Black Tee and Denim Outfits With Printed Cover Ups

Two outfits both featuring black and red, with tees, denim and printed cover ups for a few days with the kids recently.

What I wore:

JacketThe Kindness Kimono 'Dream Catch Me' print
Necklace: thrifted wooden yellow tassel necklace
Tee: thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee (new purchase)
Shorts: thrifted red denim shorts (new purchase)
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual plus black and gold beaded bracelet stack
BagRebecca Minkoff medium unlined tote in black with shellac studded dome hardware

Why I wore it:

This was a really fun day! For the Ekka holiday we had a quiet one and attend a local nature walk. It was so nice getting out in the warm weather, and the kids learned a lot and had so much fun spotting different creatures as we hiked. We treated ourselves to some ice cream after too.

I wanted to wear my new shorts right away. I thrifted these recently, and I paired them with another opshop find, this black tee. A nice basic outfit for a bit of walking, and I added the printed cover up and the yellow tassel necklace to add a little more colour.

As I was carrying a camera and our water bottles, needed the large capacity of this Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote bag.

Last worn: printed cover up, tassel necklace, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote. first time I've worn the tee and the shorts as they are recent purchases.

Other ways to wearprinted cover up and dress, Rebecca Minkoff unlined tote and midi dress.

What I wore:

JacketCotton On Alana Wanderlust kimono in floral mood indigo
Necklace: thrifted flat navy statement bead necklace
Tee: Jeanswest Emma woven trim tee in terracotta
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesNew Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff Julian nylon backpack in bright blue

Why I wore it:

This should have been a shorts day! We decided to bike to a local festival expecting traffic to be really bad, which it was. Unfortunately the day was much warmer than I expected, so the jeans I'd thought were such a good choice in the morning I quickly regretted by lunch time. I got a flat tire on my bike too which made the trip home very painful for my knee.

We did have a fun day apart from my small downsides though! The kids enjoyed a few rides and it was good to get out on our bikes. I liked the bright red and blue combination of this outfit, the tee and cover up is a combination I've worn before. I tried a little matchy-matchy with the navy necklace, blue floral print cover up, and cobalt backpack. The backpack was the obvious choice for the bike ride, and really useful. Just a shame I had nothing in it to fix a flat tire!

Last worn: blue floral print cover up, red tee, navy necklace, faded black skinny jeans, New Balance sneakers (above), Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack.

Other ways to wearblue floral print cover up and pink shorts, red tee and maxi skirt, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Rebecca Minkoff Julian backpack and dress.

Sundresses and Denim Jackets With Damier Azur Neverfull | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link Up, sharing two times I wore the classic spring combination of a tiered sundress and denim jacket with sneakers, for working from home and school run days. I'm really enjoying Brisbane's spring weather at the moment!

What I wore:

Jacket: Bubblegum denim jacket
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Dress: thrifted peach and white floral print tiered sundress
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

How gorgeous is this dress? It is a bit loose on me, but for $1 at the opshop I had to get it. The tag was cut out but I'm fairly sure it's one of the Kmart sundresses which I already have a couple of. I like the pastel palm print, the peach is so nice against the white background. I matched the white with the white Converse and the checks on the Louis Vuitton damier azur Neverfull tote.

Needed a big bag for a couple of errands as we had to take Cooper to the vets after the school run, the Neverfull was perfect.

I do think that the necklace (also an opshop find!) kind of got lost with the print of the dress, so I'll need to try a bolder coloured one next time I wear this dress.

Last worn: denim jacket, hexagon bead necklace, white Converse, Louis Vuitton Neverfull. First time I've worn the dress as it was a recent purchase.

Other ways to weardenim jacket worn 30 ways, white Converse and skirtLouis Vuitton MM Neverfull worn 30 ways.

What I wore:

Jacket: Jeanswest Kitty denim biker jacket
Necklace: thrifted Eb&Ive turquoise wooden bead multi strand statement necklace
Dress: Kmart strappy tiered sundress in watercolour blue and blush print
ShoesSketchers Bountiful navy fabric sneakers
BagLouis Vuitton MM damier azur Neverfull

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the outfit above so much, I wore the formula again the next week, with another tiered sundress from my collection. I scored this one in the Kmart clearance for just $2, and it's a firm favourite. Surprisingly, I haven't worn this denim moto jacket with it before, it's such an obvious combination. I liked the paler denim with the darker blue of the background of the dress, and I picked my turquoise beaded necklace to add some more lightness too.

I had a couple errands to run after the school drop off, then worked from home before picking the kids up in the afternoon. Didn't really need the extra space of the Louis Vuitton Neverfull, but I thought the colours went nicely with this outfit so didn't bother changing to another bag.

Last worn: denim moto jacket, turquoise beaded necklace, navy and blush printed sundress, Sketchers, Louis Vuitton Neverfull (above).

Turquoise and Band Tees

Adding some turquoise cover ups over band tees for some bright and colourful casual outfits lately.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Jacket: thrifted no label tropical print tassel cover up
Tee: The Getaway Plan yellow paint splatter band tee
Jeans: thrifted Jeanswest faded black cropped butt lifter jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual plus turquoise and silver bracelet stack
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

Just a nice simple jeans and tee outfit for a playdate. I wanted to add a little extra cover with this fun tropical print cover up, and I thought all the colours helped break up the bee-like yellow tee and black jeans nicely, especially when paired with the turquoise and silver bracelet stack.

The Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag of course goes with everything and has been a staple go-to for me!

Last worn: tropical print cover up, yellow band tee, bracelet stackfaded black skinny jeans, Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid.

Other ways to weartropical print cover up and denim skirt, yellow band tee with grey, faded black skinny jeans and blazer, Converse and maxi skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid and dress.

What I wore:

Rebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Jacket: thrifted pastel Paisley print cape (new purchase)
Tee: Kisschasy The Final Roar band tee
Shorts: thrifted Kmart turquoise linen shorts (new purchase)
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff MAB crossbody with studs in desert rose

Why I wore it:

Finally making the most of warmer weather and wearing some of the things I bought at the opshop last month. I will always thrift pieces I like, even if it means I need to wait for the weather to change before I can wear them. I thought this pastel print cover up worked so well with the turquoise linen shorts. The shorts were a hit at school drop off, they are such a nice colour! I have the same pair in fuchsia that I thrifted last year, and really enjoyed wearing them last summer so I'm confident these turquoise ones will get just as much wear.

Wasn't too sure if the black and white print of this band tee would work with the printed cover up, but I'm glad I gave it a go for something different! With the turquoise in the print, the matching turquoise shorts, and the matching pastel bag, that the print clash was the only standout of the outfit. It was nice to try something different too!

Last worn: white band tee, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody. First time I've worn the cover up and the linen shorts as they are recent purchases.

Other ways to wearwhite band tee and maxi skirt, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff studded MAB crossbody and denim skirt.

What I Thrifted In August & How I've Worn My Opshop Finds

Just like back in July, I feel I have been shopping a lot in August too! I have been making more trips to the opshop, as we declutter at home and reorganise, to donate things we no longer need, and of course browsing leads to buying!

What I Bought:

  • thrifted black scoop neck H&M tee
  • thrifted peach and white floral print tiered sundress
  • thrifted red denim shorts
  • thrifted pastel pink and wooden bead necklace
  • thrifted chartreuse necklace

Some of these things were impulse buys - the dress and tee I thought were good basics I couldn't pass up! I definitely have a couple black tees already, and a few printed sundresses, but I could easily rationalise adding another when clothing is $1 each! I'm always on the lookout for more of these wooden statement necklaces too, I feel they work well with outfits in my wardrobe and it's nice to have lots of choice when I am picking a necklace to add to my outfit. As it's spring now in Brisbane I'll be wearing more necklaces than scarves so these will get a lot of wear.

The red shorts were actually something I'd been wanting for a while, couldn't believe when I stumbled across them in the opshop. I have a few pairs of denim shorts, but I'd like to have more than the classic blue wash so have been on a look out for red shorts for a while. I've actually been able to wear them in August too, although it's technically winter, it really started feeling like spring early in Brisbane.

How I've Worn It:

How I'm Tracking With My Spending Goals:

This month I had more success wearing all the things I bought twice, as the weather has been so warm. I set myself a goal of wearing everything I buy at least twice in the month I buy it, to make sure things really work for me and my wardrobe. And I easily achieved this this month. I think the blush necklace is the standout, being worn 4 times this month.

I have been buying a lot, although as it's mostly preloved opshop finds, I'm still well under my budget this year. I've been revamping my wardrobe a bit and selling old pieces at the markets so I'm more open to buying things and less strict when considering purchases. And also, honestly, I like browsing the racks at the opshop and once I find something it's hard to say no! More browsing time always leads to more buying for me.

There is the drop off in the 30 wears posts I used to do each month as with refreshing my wardrobe and buying so many new pieces, I haven't hit 30 wears as often. I know that things leaving my wardrobe are being put to use - on the racks at the opshop generating money for a worthy charity, or being sold to a happy customer at a market. They aren't just filling up space in landfill, just no longer pieces I reach for that are going onto new homes. I'm not giving up on my 30 wears goals! Just revaluating my wardrobe a little and making some changes that mean I have less pieces I've achieved 30 wears with, for the moment.

Black Tanks, Printed Skirts and Blazers | Weekday Wear Link Up

For today's Weekday Wear Link up, sharing two times I wore a midi skirt and black tank outfit formula with blazers over the top for the office.

What I wore:

Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

JacketJeanswest grey jersey blazer
Necklace: thrifted chartreuse necklace (new purchase)
Tank: Kmart linen blend textured black tank
Skirt: thrifted Ghanda midi slink skirt in green mini blossom
ShoesMarc by Marc Jacobs black logo plaque ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

Last time I wore this green daisy print midi skirt to the office I worried the side slit was a bit too high. I saw the skirt hanging in my wardrobe and felt it was due another wear, and when I tried it on I wondered why I felt it was too high for the office, the length seems to cancel out the slightly higher slit. I quickly realised when I got to the office though, that the slit does expose quite a bit of leg when you sit down, and that was my main issue with it last time I wore it. Ended up tugging at the skirt all day, not the best choice of outfit. I did really like how this looked, just made me a bit self conscious in the office when anyone stopped by my desk.

With the neutral black tank and the grey blazer, the neon chartreuse necklace added needed pop of colour, and the light khaki small Chloe Ethel bag added some more lightness to the outfit too.

Last worn: grey jersey blazer, black linen blend tank, green print midi skirt, black ballet flats, Chloe small Ethel bag. First time I've worn the chartreuse necklace as it's a recent opshop buy.

Other ways to weargrey jersey blazer and dress, black linen blend tank and leopard print, green print midi skirt and band tee, black ballet flats and jeans, Chloe small Ethel bag and maxi skirt.

What I wore:

Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Jacketthrifted Zara black blazer
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace
Top: lace bib black swing tank from mum's wardrobe
SkirtCotton On 'Mica' mesh spot skirt in dusty pink
Shoes:  Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in black
Bracelets: the usual
BagChloe small Ethel bag in light khaki

Why I wore it:

Since I liked the outfit formula above (in theory, although not so much in practice!) I copied it again for another office day. I wore my comfortable Converse sneakers this time instead of the ballet flats, and again it was another midi skirt and a black tank outfit. I liked the lace detail of this tank with the mesh polka dot layer of the midi skirt, it was a nice texture combination, and it lifted the outfit a little with all the black of the black blazer and tank together.

This skirt is an old favourite that I saw in a magazine back in the days I used to read magazines and had to buy it - it is the Mica skirt after all! Surprisingly I haven't hit 30 wears on it yet, I'll need to wear it more often! I liked the blush necklace with it, although the skirt is more of a peachy pink I thought the shades worked nicely together with the black tank in between.

Last worn: black jersey blazer, black lace tank, statement necklace, polka dot pencil skirt, Converse, Chloe small Ethel bag (above).

Other ways to wearblack jersey blazer and floral dress, black lace tank with red, polka dot pencil skirt and berry top, Converse and shorts, Chloe small Ethel bag and striped dress.

Pink Tees and White Jeans With Black And White Layers

Sharing two very similar outfits with black and white printed layers over pink tees and skinny jeans. Accessorising with my Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and my white Converse in both outfits.

What I wore:

JacketRebecca Minkoff Ruana poncho
Necklace: terrazzo and wood rose gold bead necklace
TeeCotton On deep v tee in washed desert rose
Jeans: thrifted Atmos&Here white straight leg jeans
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

I wore this back in the July school holidays, so I needed a nice cosy layer for winter. This knitted poncho was the best, and I liked the extra warmth and interest it added to the jeans and tee outfit. I spent a few hours working from home, and then took the kids out for a couple errands and a play at the park with the new gliders my mum had got them.

With the white jeans, the white Converse seemed like a great matchy-matchy option. I really like wearing this black and white knit with pink too, it's a lovely combination.

Last worn: knitted poncho, pink tee, statement necklace, white jeans, white Converse, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag.

Other ways to wearknitted poncho and shorts, pink tee and maxi skirt, white jeans and red, white Converse and dress, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and printed jeans.

Perfect for pregnancyConverse in second trimester.

What I wore:

JacketKmart striped maxi cardigan
Necklace: thrifted pastel pink and wooden hexagon bead necklace (new purchase)
TeeCle The Label Charlotte tee in ombre rose
Jeans: Dannii Minogue denim high waist skinny jean in ecru
ShoesConverse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bagthrifted Rebecca Minkoff vintage Cupid satchel in dark navy blue

Why I wore it:

This was a much more recent outfit, nearing the end of Autumn and winter in Brisbane. Very similar to the one above, just for a warmer day. This black and white striped duster was a nice light duster for a warm day, and again I went with the pink tee and white jeans combo. The pink ombre tee looks so good with the white skinny jeans, and I although the pink paint on the wooden necklace doesn't match the shades of pink in the tee exactly I thought they looked nice together.

I really loved this outfit, but I quickly regretted it. I took my son out to run a couple errands and to stop by a couple opshops looking for a final piece for his book week costume for school. At the first opshop we found exactly what we needed, so we took a little look at the kids section. And stumbled across a Mongoose mountain bike for just $50! It was the perfect size for my son, but picking it up to put it in the car got my jeans covered in dirt and dust.

After getting the bike tuned up, we took it out for a spin, and then I made the second mistake of the day and tried hopping on a bike without taking off my duster. It quickly got caught in the chain and had to be cut free. I'm so sad as I really liked this duster, and was so close to 30 wears with it! Thankfully I was able to get mum to cut off the destroyed section and hem it shorter, so I can still continue to wear it.

Last worn: striped duster, pink ombre tee, white skinny jeans, white Converse (above), Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag (above). First time I've worn the necklace as it was a recent opshop find.

Other ways to wearstriped duster and skirt, pink ombre tee and blazer, white skinny jeans and sequins, white Converse and pencil skirt, Rebecca Minkoff Cupid bag and dress.
