My friend Sheila reached out and offered to personalise one of my many handbags to create a unique and special piece that means the world to me. This one of a kind Rebecca Minkoff handbag has so many little personal touches and I think you will agree as you see me wear it more and more, it goes perfectly with so many pieces in my wardrobe.

Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila
What I wore:
Necklace: Kmart silver long circle pendant necklace
Dress: Kmart short sleeve tiered jersey dress in Fuchsia
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila
Why I wore it:
What better way to bring some cheer to a Monday morning than by wearing a nice bright dress, and taking a new bag out for a spin! As I didn't have any bags that were light enough to become a canvas for Sheila when she extended the offer to customise one for me, I snapped this one up on eBay for her to return into a work of art. Never got around to getting pics with it before sending it to Sheila - but it was a completely plain, pale lilac tote bag before she unleashed her creativity on it.I really like how the purple and blue roses worked with the fuchsia pink of the dress, and I had to go a little matchy-matchy with the lilac tassel earrings. Maybe a little overdressed for a couple of errands to run after school drop off, working from home and then picking the kids up from school in the afternoon. But it felt so good to wear all of these pieces together - I knew when I pulled this bag out the box that this dress would be the first thing I wore it with!
Last worn: lilac earrings, silver circle necklace, fuchsia pink tiered dress, Converse. First time I've shared the Rebecca Minkoff personalised mini MAB tote on the blog.
Other ways to wear: fuchsia pink tiered dress and denim jacket, Converse and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: Converse in second trimester.

Overview of Detail On My Hand Painted Bag - Youtube Shorts
What I wore:
Dress: Kmart Whsdch Red short sleeved tiered midi dress
Shoes: New Balance Coast women's running shoe in black
Bracelets: the usual
Bag: Mica Bag - Rebecca Minkoff mini MAB side zip tote in pale lilac hand painted by Sheila
Why I wore it:
This coral dress definitely doesn't match any of the colours in this bag, but again I loved the little floral illustrations on the bag making a statement against the bold block colour of the tiered dress. This outfit shows a little of the lilac tint to the leather on the bag as well I think - as you can see it's not quite the same shade as my white statement necklace. Unlike the outfit above, I went with comfortable New Balance sneakers instead of my Converse as I'd managed to aggravate my knee injury, and we had a little driving around to do. Just the usual school drop off and pick up, helping out in my son's classroom in the morning, working from home, and then the library in the afternoon. It was such a windy day I considered a denim jacket with this dress in the morning, but thankfully it had warmed up in the afternoon.
Last worn: 5 station statement necklace, coral tiered midi dress, New Balance sneakers, Rebecca Minkoff personalised mini MAB tote (above).

How You Can Wear It:
A pretty printed bag can be the fun statement in your outfit when you wear it with a block colour dress like these.

How exciting to see Sheila's bag on your arm! Both your dresses look so relaxed and pretty. xxx
ReplyDeleteHaving followed Sheila's transformation of your Rebecca Minkoff bag into a veritable work of art, I couldn't wait to see you wearing it on the blog. It's absolutely stunning and works extremely well with both your pink and coral tiered midi dresses. I'm not surprised the first dress you thought of when you pulled the bag out of its box was the fuchsia one. This really is a match made in heaven! xxx

ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite bag of yours. I love how cheerful it is and not plain at all! The flowers in different colors are perfect for spring/summer and there is still enough white to make it neutral enough. LOVE IT!
