What I wore:
Necklace: thrifted burgundy and cream beaded statement necklace
Cami: New Look orange strappy cami top
Skirt: thrifted ruffle hem leopard print midi skirt
Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylor All Star low in white
Bracelets: the usual plus wooden beaded bracelet stack
Bag: Chloe small Ethel bag in light khaki
Why I wore it:
This was such a fun day! Went down the coast to spend some time at my parents, and then shopping at Costco with my mum and sister. It was the first time I've been there! We bought a lot, and the kids were delighted by all the different sample stations they got to eat at!While a leopard print midi skirt seems like it would be a loud statement piece, this skirt never seems too "in-your-face" for me so I had fun pairing it with this bright orange cami and the statement beaded necklace and beaded bracelet stack. I did add some neutrals with the white Converse and the small Chloe Ethel bag, but leopard is pretty much a neutral on its own now!
Really enjoyed this outfit, it was fun shopping and getting lunch with the family.

Why I wore it:
I really liked the outfit above, so I flipped it around a little but followed the same outfit formula for this. Animal print cami this time and an orange maxi skirt. I keep calling this a leopard print cami even though it's clearly cheetah print. It was the perfect printed piece with this block colour rust maxi skirt. Again I wore my Chloe Ethel bag - the 'light khaki' colour is a very light one and I treat it as a neutral. With the gold hardware on the Chloe Ethel bag and the bold combination of animal print and leopard, I kept the rest of my accessories simple with the tan slides and gold necklace and earrings.
Wore this out to an event at the library. I did feel a bit overdressed in this though, and didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first outfit. I think it seemed a little more dressed up than a plain tee and maxi skirt outfit. I did like it, just maybe should have worn it for a different day.

I'm so glad you had a good day with lots of wonderful experiences! Both outfits are fabulous. This is such a great combination. <3

That bag is such a beautiful color and looks so nice with both outfits! I love the bold orange top especially. Such a great combo with the leopard!
ReplyDeleteThat bag goes so well with leopard! I read that "mob wife" is now a style that is in fashion - lots of leopard and gold hardware. You're nailing it! I have never been in a Costco - they are all over here, sigh.
ReplyDeleteWe love Costco and go there all of the time. Never try orange and leopard before.
