Orange and Grey Tee and Skirt Outfits With Yellow Bag

Two different outfits, even though they both feature skirts, tees, and grey orange and yellow colours together.

What I wore:

Necklace: thrifted bronze foil statement necklace
Tee: Anko Kmart short sleeve slub v-neck tee in lead grey
Skirtthrifted Tree of Life ochre maxi skirt
Shoes: Kmart tan crossover slides
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

Wanted something comfortable to wear for a day of working from home, with an outing to the vets for the dogs, the school run, and sports in the evening. Maxi skirts are great for evening sports as the long length is a bit of a physical blocker for mozzies, although I do liberally apply bug spray too!

I really liked this grey tee with the ochre orange of the maxi skirt, I thought it was a really nice combination. It's not the first time I've worn grey with this orange skirt, but it is the first time I've worn this particular tee with the skirt. Definitely something I'll need to wear again.

I added the yellow mini 5-zip bag as I thought it was a fun pop of colour with the neutral grey tee, and I like it against the orange skirt as well.

Last worn: grey tee, bronze foil necklace, ochre maxi skirt, tan slides, yellow mini 5 zip bag.

Other ways to weargrey tee and midi skirt, ochre maxi skirt and denim jacket, tan slides and jeans, yellow mini 5 zip bag and dress.

What I wore:

Earrings: neutral clay disc earrings
Necklace: thrifted yellow beaded statement pendant long necklace
TeeSass and Bide 'New Day Rising' tee in orange leopard print
Skirt: Salvos Nobody Denim grey distressed denim skirt
Shoes: black matte slim Havaianas
Bracelets: the usual
BagRebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip

Why I wore it:

Another tee and skirt outfit for working from home, with the school run and a playdate in the afternoon. This time around I went with an orange tee and a grey distressed denim skirt, and again I wore my little yellow Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5-zip bag. Although it's the same basic formula I like how different this outfit looked.

I really like this distressed denim skirt, it was an opshop find. It goes so well with any tees, and I like the fun neon leopard print one with it. Just like in the first outfit, I find the yellow mini 5-zip bag is a nice pop of colour against the neutral grey. Although the orange in this outfit is much brighter than in the skirt, it still pairs so nicely as well.

Last worn: earrings, leopard tee, yellow pendant necklace, grey denim skirt, Havaianas, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip bag (above).

Other ways to wearleopard tee and jeans, grey denim skirt with purple, Rebecca Minkoff yellow mini 5 zip bag and dress.

Note: we are in the direct path of Cyclone Alfred, this is a pre-scheduled post. We had time to prepare our home the best we could, and I have a few posts scheduled as I don't know what the impact will have been as I type this.

  1. Lovely outfits, Mica, and showing how the same colour combo can yet look very different . Like the idea of the long skirt for added muzzle protection, good tip.

  2. The first outfit is so pretty. I really like the combo of burnt orange maxi and a grey top. These colours work so well together and balance each other out. Lovely statement necklace and a mini yellow bag as well. A maxi skirt is always a great choice. It's additional protection against a lot of things- the sun, the wind, the heat, the cold...and the bugs. I cannot dug summer without a bug spray for sure. Length helps but mosquitos always find a way.

Funny how that second skirt looks light blue to me even though I know it's grey. It is because we expect blue when we think of denim? I also have some grey denim pieces and sometimes our brain just translated it to blue somehow.

Anyway, this is also a very cute styling. I like the print on that orange and white top and the denim skirt is lovely.

P.S. All the best to you and take care. Let us know what happened with the weather and the cyclone Alfred. Stay safe!

  4. Hope that Cyclone Alfred wasn't too bad and that you and your family are safe and doing well.I never thought of maxi skirts as a physical blocker for mosquitoes but you have a good point. I usually wear pants when I want avoid them but sometimes it's just too hot.
