What I wore:
Tank: Jeanswest Elissa leaf print tank
Skirt: Jeanswest black ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs black logo plaque ballet flats
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Chloe Paddington in 2007 Brun
Why I wore it:
This tank was a gift from my mum and it was such a good one, it's looked great with everything I've worn it with so far. See two more ways to wear it here.I debated a little in the morning which necklace I should wear with the top. The leaf print has so many different colours, it's easy to pick a colour out of the print and wear a matching accessory. In the end I went with blue, of course.
Someone on Instagram contacted me to ask about my experiences with Chloe Paddington bags, and I was happy to chat a little about my first bag obsession. I'm not good with small talk, and meeting new people often leaves me at a loss for words, but if anyone talks handbags they will find it hard to shut me up, haha! After talking about the bag I couldn't resist getting it out again for a wear.
I did add a cardigan to this outfit to cover up in the cold office air con, but it wasn't needed for my commute, the weather was just right.
Last worn: leaf print tank, black pencil skirt with elastic panel, Marc by Marc Jacobs ballet flats, Chloe Paddington bag.
Other ways to wear: leaf print tank and pink shorts, black pencil skirt in winter, Marc by Marc Jacobs ballet flats and shorts, Chloe Paddington bag and burgundy pants.
Perfect for pregnancy: pencil skirt and hidden second trimester bump, Chloe Paddy at a few weeks pregnant.
Chloe Paddington Review and Contents:
(yes, it really is that heavy!)
Where To Buy a Chloe Paddington:
What I wore:
Jacket: Zara cream jersey blazerNecklace: Happiness Boutique turquoise and coral pendant necklace (C/O)
Tank: Emerson crochet lace bib print top
Skirt: Jeanswest zip detail ponte pencil skirt
Shoes: Walnut Melbourne 'Ava' black lizard ballet flats (also available in silver)
Bracelets: the usual plus Cora purpleheart and mother of pearl watch C/O JORD
Bag: Chloe Paddington in 2007 Brun
Why I wore it:
Since I liked the printed tank and black pencil skirt combination above, I wore it again for my next day in the office. Funnily, this tank was also a gift from my mum, back when I was pregnant. Didn't realise the coincidence in wearing the tanks so close to each other until I put this post together! As it was a little cooler with some rain forecast, I added the blazer over the top and kept it on pretty much all day. It was a little tricky taking photos - while the rain held off until later in the day, my neighbour (who you can see in the back there) kept walking past as I was trying to take photos. I don't spend long taking photos, just setup the tripod, align the camera then shoot. Still she managed to walk past twice! It was so awkward. I find it weird taking blog photos in front of people, as I'd have no idea what to say if they asked. "I take photos for the internet" sounds normal to another style blogger, but is kinda crazy when you think of it!
The only issue with a Chloe Paddington is the weight - while it was fun carrying it, it was back in its dust bag after these two wears. Twice in a week is enough for me, I have frequent back pain with my diastasis recti so a heavy bag just adds to it unfortunately! I think I'll always love my Paddy though, even if I don't wear it as much as I used to.
Last worn: cream blazer, red crochet detail tank, black pencil skirt, ballet flats, Chloe Paddington (above).
Other ways to wear: cream blazer and sheath dress, red crochet detail tank and shorts, black pencil skirt worn over a dress, ballet flats and fit and flare dress, Chloe Paddington and jeans.
Perfect for pregnancy: cream blazer in first trimester, red crochet detail tank in third trimester, black pencil skirt in first trimester, ballet flats in third trimester, Chloe Paddy at a few weeks pregnant.
Printed Tanks Under $50:
How You Can Wear It:
A black pencil skirt is an office staple, and it's so easy to pair with a printed piece like these fun printed tanks. Depending on the dress code for your office, you may need to cover up bare shoulders with a blazer. A cardigan is another option if the office aircon is particularly frosty and your dress code isn't as formal.

Both of these outfits look so stylish for the office, Mica! I love your bag too! I'm also not good with small talk but I could talk forever about handbags and other accessories too, haha!! ;) I also laughed about your neighbour walking past while you were taking photos! It would sound funny trying to explain, wouldn't it?! Haha! ;) Hope you have a great week, Mica. XXX
ReplyDeletehaha yes I'm glad she didn't stop to ask me about it! No idea how I'd explain it!
DeleteOMG here it rains a lot !!! As your looks for the office are very elegant, you can combine very well the various pieces of clothing of the look. And this bag is beautiful !!!

Hope the rain eases up soon for you!
DeleteIn love with the first outfit. The top is so pretty. You have paired it with that black skirt very well. Though you look beautiful in both look.
ReplyDeleteVisited After a tough week after my injuries. Still recovering but hope will be better soon.

Hope you continue to recover quickly!
Deleteit's such a fun bag, definitely one that you'll continue to wear all the time! I always love seeing you wear it. It's a shame its a bit too heavy, I hate when that happens
ReplyDeletehttp://www.closet-fashionista.com/
Yeah, I wish it was a little lighter, but I love the way it looks and wouldn't change that at all!
DeleteI remember when that bag first came out and how obsessed with it I was. I'm glad to see that you still manage to use it and with flair.

I was obsessed with it too, such a stunning bag, I'm glad I kept mine :)
DeleteI wear printed tanks with black skirts for the office too, it's such a lovely and chic combination but fun and colourful at the same time!

I hate taking photos in front of people too. Even when they know I have a blog. Now we have new neighbors and I have yet to explain to them so they just stare at us awkwardly when we take photos every weekend. I'm hoping it won't be as bad once we get to know them or when Daylight Savings time begins and we can take them at the end of each day instead of all at once. Your printed tanks look lovely!
ReplyDeletehaha I wonder what they must think sometimes as they watch us take pics! Hope the staring changes soon with the time change, ha!
DeleteWonderful post, really interesting!
ReplyDeleteI'm following you!
Have a nice week! ♥
New post is on my blog!

These are such pretty tank tops and I admire how you stay on them with the slim pencil skirts. I love the printed one and I also love the tank with the lace edge.
ReplyDeleteI agree these tank tops can be so versatile and they are one of my favorite pieces too. I wish I could take photos with the tripod. If I did that in Manhattan my tripod would be stolen or broken within minutes. I do feel awkward having photos taken out in public but there is so much commotion in Manhattan hardly anyone notices.
Have a wonderful week. I hope the rain stops. We’re expecting another big storm here.

Oh yes I'm lucky it's quiet where I live so I have space and rarely any audience when I'm taking photos! :)
DeleteWhat a CUTE outfit - I could definitely see wearing this to my office for a classy summer work look. Thanks for sharing!

Taking pictures in public is really awkward. Or vlogging in public! Try explaining that!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Linda, Libra, Loca
I don't know how you do it! I'm starting to vlog a little more but it's something I feel really awkward doing in public! :)
DeleteYou can always pair a looser top with a pencil skirt for a fun play on proportions!

I love the skirt so much! You can never go wrong with a pencil skirt for sure. Your photos are making be believe spring will come soon <3
ReplyDeleteStacey, thebambieyes.com
Hope spring arrives soon for you! It's autumn here in Brisbane now but was really warm at the end of summer when I took these pics :)
DeleteI've wanted a Chloe Paddington bag for a long time but I never took the risk to buy it. Until now, it is still a gorgeous bag! I also love how you styled a pencil skirt with a loose top. The different fits creates a balance in the outfit!
ReplyDeletewww.rdsobsessions.com
You can get them for such good prices now! You should give it a try :)
DeleteI have my husband as my camera man and thankfully we have a lovely backyard in our new home so NO MORE PUBLIC pictures! LOL! I can never get over the awkwardness and me think your neighbour is being nosy. Haha!
ReplyDeleteShireen⎜Reflection of Sanity
haha you're lucky, after about a year or so my hubby refused to take more photos, camera and tripod was it! :)
DeleteBeautiful bag! It was nice to hear the story behind it and how it became your first bag splurge. It looks like a great bag but indeed not kid friendly. Your outfits are on point as always. Oh and I still get a bit uncomfortable while taking pictures in front of other people. It's been almost 5 years since I do it but it's still weird sometimes haha, so I totally get you!

haha yes !I think I'll always find it strange taking photos in front of people no matter how much I do it! :)
DeleteGreat professional looks - I could not handle a heavy bag! I don't know how you do it. Looking lovely, my dear.
ReplyDeleteHi Mica! That's awesome you have your first designer bag and it's still in wonderful condition. It is very pretty and compliments both looks perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI pray you have a wonderful week!

Yes these bags age so well, it's still in perfect shape!
DeleteOh I feel you on trying to take outfit shots discreetly! There are so many cool walls in the city but I'll only do it if I can sneak in and nobody is there. My friend Jenni from Styling Curvy will walk right up, set up a tripod, pose, wave and say hi to anyone gawking . . . she's a legend at it!
ReplyDeletehaha I wish I had her confidence, I'm so shy!
DeleteHaha I hate it when my neighbors see me outside taking photos too--so awkward! :) That's so sweet that your mom got you both of those tops. Plus she has such great taste! I love how you make them both work for work!
ReplyDeleteThanks! She really does have great taste!
DeleteOMG I have the exact same one. Correction. Had. I think. I don't know where it is honestly hahaha. The Paddington was my second ever Chloe accessory purchase. My first was the Silverado. I loved that bag so much, more than the Paddington. Even though it is such a stunning bag, that padlock is just so annoying and impractical hahaha. And heavy. OMG man is it heavy!

So heavy! I love dthe silverado, I was sad when I sold my tan and silver ones, I still miss the silver one sometimes!
DeleteI love the shade of that bag, it's so so stunning! Hope you're having a lovely week so far :)

I love the Chloe paddington! It such a pretty handbag and the style is unrivaled. I haven't seen any bags close to this particular style. Both of your tank tops are pretty. Love the colors on both and how you styled it with your black pencil skirt. Such an easy look!

It is definitely a one of a kind bag!
DeleteI love these outfits - just right for the office

I totally adore loose-fitting tank tops throughout the warmer months of the year and I love your idea of pairing them with tight-fitting pencil skirts; what a gorgeous contrast! Perfect for the office, and onto wherever else afterwards too! :)
ReplyDeleteaglassofice.com x
haha yes, although in my case it's right back home to pickup the boys after work!
DeleteTanks look great on you Mica and I'm glad you paired the necklace with that top. It really looks great with it. Gorgeous bag, but I can see where the buckle alone would be heavy. Oh gosh, your neighbor is funny. I have nosy neighbors, so I would definitely have a dilemma. LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment. I wish the world was different as well. You're an excellent mom with outstanding values Mica. You will instill the right things in your boys. We need more parents like you.

I remember when the Chloe Paddington came out, it's really lovely. I didn't get one, but love the hardware on it. We live on about an acre so I'm sure noone cares when I take pics, if they do I keep quiet, haha. But, when I used to take them in public, I just went for it.

Lovely top dear, cute florals and goes perfectly with the black skirt. You really make those cute colors pop even more. Also, your pooch is sooo adorable!

I have actually never seen that bag before! It looks really cool. You always style your bags nicely, Mica! I hope you're feeling better now and your voice is back!
ReplyDeleteRaindrops of Sapphire
Thanks, my voice is pretty much back now! :)
DeleteAnd I don't wear this bag too often, but I love and keep it just the same :)
Even if its not worn much these days its still a beautiful bag and one you can always bring back in rotation.
ReplyDeleteI have a question, if you were to go back would you still take the jump and buy it again? I ask because in my case I do not think if I could go back I'd buy my first expensive bag again.
Yep, I'd still go back and buy it again if I was to go back. Although I'm sure hubby wishes I wouldn't as it was the bag that started the handbag obsession for me, haha!
DeleteI love both outfits and especially that zara blazer. Nice!!
ReplyDeleteOoo, I love your bag, what a rich color and the leather is luscious. Love your pretty print tops, as I am excited about looking for spring ones myself. Love seeing the puppy photobomb too!
